Jax & Skye #3 June 21 - October 4, 2002: 8 hour original edit

DVD #3A 6/21- 7/26/2002 First two hours  Edwards suggests to Skye that Jax is cheating, Skye runs into AJ at the Grill bar, Edward shows Skye pictures of Jax and another woman, Skye agrees to a deal with Edward, she betrays Jax in return for Edward making her sole heir, Jax catches Carly embezzling from the club and hands the reins over to Skye, Skye gives Edward information on one of Jax’s deals, Skye follows Jax to a meeting with another woman, Skye gets angry with Edward when she learns that he did not use the information she gave him and was just testing her, Jax overhears Skye make a comment to Jason about Edward’s heir, Jax refuses to sell the club to Sonny for Carly, Jax’s parents stop by to visit, Edward tells Skye to break into Jax’s safe for a map, Jax proposes.  

7/29- 8/22/2002 Skye agrees to marry Jax, they announce their plans to the Quartermaines, Edward reminds Skye of their deal, Jax visits with Alexis after Kristina is killed in Sonny’s warehouse explosion, Kristina’s memorial, Edward urges Skye to steal the map, Roy approaches Skye about an alliance with Jax against Sonny, Skye tells Jax, Jax tells Roy that he doesn’t trust him, Roy breaks in and steals the map, Skye accuses Edward of taking the map, Jax confronts Roy about the map, half of the map is returned to Jax anonymously, Skye pleads with Edward to release her from their contract, Jax & Skye throw and engagement party, Skye & Edward argue over the contract, Skye takes it from him, Edward has a stroke and is rushed to the hospital, Edward tells Skye that he has other copies.

8/19 At the hospital, Skye told Edward she had the contract and he said he had more copies. All of a sudden he took a turn for the worse and went into a coma.

8/21 The Quartermaines learn that Edward may not recover from his stroke and are asked to determine how long they would want to keep Edward alive under these circumstances. Skye stops by the Q mansion and having realized that there are more copies of the contract and takes the one from Ned's stack of papers when he isn't looking. Skye goes to see Edward when no one else is around and talks about her worries that there are more contracts waiting to ruin her life. She even talks about how much easier her life would be if Edward were to die.

8/22 Skye stays near Edward's bed in ICU. She begs for him to wake up and get rid of the contracts he has lying around and just let her be with Jax. Jax shows up to check up on her and Edward. Alan and Monica show up. They tell Jax there concerns for Edward's health and the stress he has been under since Jax tried to take ELQ away from him. Jax reassures them he has no interest in ELQ anymore and that all he wants now is to marry Skye. Skye tells them that she loves Jax and has no interest in ELQ anymore.

Meanwhile, Edward's secretary, Petra shows up at GH to give Ned an envelope addressed to him from Edward. Inside the envelope is a letter from Edward to Ned. It tells Ned that he can not trust Skye and warns him to keep her away from ELQ and that she plans to take it over and that if anything happens to him it is Skye's doing. Ned also finds a copy of the contract Skye signed with Edward concerning ruining Jax in exchange for being sole heir of ELQ. Ned is livid.  

Dvd #3B 8/22 -10/4/02: 8/22 Ned confronts Skye in Edward’s hospital room and threatens to tell Jax and warns her that the contract is null and void and she won’t get one red cent. She tells him that Edward misled her by setting her to believe that Jax had cheated on her and conned her into signing the contract. She assures Ned that she loves Jax and wants to marry him, that she doesn’t want ELQ and Edward has been blackmailing her and trying to get her to bankrupt Jax.

Jax gets an important phone call and has to leave GH and ignores Ned. Ned confronts Skye with the contract copy. Skye doesn't deny that she signed a contract with Edward and tries to explain to Ned why she betrayed Jax and how she loves Jax and realizes he loves her and now she doesn't want ELQ. Ned informs that because she didn't abide by the contract, it is null and void and therefore she is not entitled to be sole heir to ELQ. She tells him that she made a mistake because she didn't trust in love and that she realizes what she did and wants to be with Jax only.

Ned agrees to let Skye tell Jax what she did herself before he hands him the contract. Jax overhears them talking and gets suspicious. Skye tearfully tells Jax what she did and why she betrayed him with the contract. Jax is speechless at first and Skye tells him that she loves him and that he has to believe her. Jax replies, "Why should I believe a word that comes out of your mouth."

8/23 Though Skye tries frantically to explain, a seething Jax informs her he never wants to lay eyes on her again. Skye begs Jax to believe that she's changed and urges him to fight for their love. Ignoring Skye's pitiful entreaties, Jax walks out on the weeping woman. A desolate Skye drowns her sorrows in a succession of martinis. Drunk and bitter, Skye returns to the ICU to take her revenge on Edward.

8/26 Skye had fallen asleep by Edward's bed and woke up to find the machine unplugged. She quickly left the room, missing Alan and Monica as they rushed into the room. Monica managed to get Edward stabilized and they questioned the nurse on duty. She said she was too involved in helping Edward to notice but thought the person had red hair. Alan said surely Skye couldn't have done it. 
Skye was at the house when Jax came home. He told her she was supposed to be gone. She tried to make him understand that she loved him and she wanted out of the deal with Edward. She told him that she thought she had killed Edward. Jax called the hospital but was told Edward was stable. They talked but Jax still told Skye to leave. Taggert called Skye and wanted to come out and question her. She had packed but hid the bag. 



8/30 Sonny confronts Jax and thinks he's working with Alcazar. He fills him in on Alcazar's dealings and asks what Jax' plan is. Jax tells him to give it a rest and help him take Alcazar down. He tells him that he's after his family's wealth. Jax tells Sonny of Alcazar's threat and asks if they are going to work together. Sonny passes on the offer. Jax arrives home and Alexis shows up. She says Skye is in a lot of trouble. He gives his approval for her to take Skye's case.

9/3 Ned starts a fight with Jax in Edward's hospital room because Jax obtained ELQ behind Ned's back while Ned was asleep at the CEO wheel. The family blames Ned for the hostile takeover, and they continue to argue over comatose Edward in his hospital room. Ned confesses to neglecting his family responsibilities to ELQ. Jax reiterates that he "is ELQ" and immediately Edward comes out of his fake coma. Ned and Jax's trick worked, Edward was faking. Edward claims it was a miracle. Ned and Jax accuse Edward of pulling his own plug to set-up Skye for an attempted murder rap, and he admits it. Edward plays on Jax's emotions by reminding him that, guilty of murder or not, Skye betrayed Jax and he's going to have to live with that.

9/5 Sonny and Carly show up at Carly's former club for dinner and are dismayed to find Jax having dinner with Alexis at one table and Courtney and AJ at another table. Carly goes over to Jax's table to give him hell. Sonny lets her go off and Jax just listens politely and then warns Carly to get far away from Sonny if she wants to live a long life. Jax had already told Alexis who the mysterious enemy was that had apparently blown up Sonny's warehouse and killed Kristina. Alexis tells Jax that she realizes that she had blinders on for quite awhile regarding Sonny's business and that she wanted to make excuses for him. She agrees with Jax that he was right about Sonny being a career criminal.

9/10 Jax traces Skye down to her motel room, and comments on the lack of accommodations. She has been hiding out under the assumption that she'll be arrested for Edward's attempted murder, not knowing that Edward admitted to pulling the plug himself. Skye is surprised to learn she didn't try to kill Edward, and that she's been cleared of attempted murder charges. She tells Jax that, after her bender, she's been to AA meetings everyday. Skye tells Jax she never stopped loving him, and that she was wrong to believe Edward over Jax. Jax asks Skye when she's going to stop blaming her family history for her actions. She tells him she could never have fulfilled her contract with Edward. He tells her to pack, they're leaving the motel. 

Skye arrives at the mansion and tells Edward that, by the time she'd done with him, he is going to wish she pulled that plug. Skye tells Edward he's a sick, twisted human being and a cruel, sadistic old man. Edward tells Skye to play the innocent lamb bit, but that she wanted to sign the contract. Skye challenges Edward to tell Jax the truth. Edward announces that everything that Skye has said is true, but that she's still a viper loyal only to herself. Monica tells Edward to go find Lila before Monica throws him out of the house.

9/12 Jax visits Brenda's old cottage on the anniversary of her "death." Sonny shows up and the two men decide to play the blame game on which one of them ruined Brenda's life the most. Sonny refuses to take the blame for what happened to Brenda. Meanwhile, Skye pays Carly a surprise visit at the penthouse. She asks Carly to tell her how Jax's relationship with Brenda was. Carly spins it so that Brenda looks like a needy person who used Jax after Sonny dumped her at the altar. She tells her that Brenda was the love of Jax's life. Skye thanks her for being honest with her. Carly shows some compassion and tells her where Brenda's cottage is located. Skye shows up and tells Jax that she loves him and that she doesn't care if he loves her back or how long it takes for him to love her, she will wait. She apologizes for barging in on him while he is remembering Brenda. Jax doesn't let her leave without telling her that he has been over Brenda for awhile now and that a year from now she won't find him at her cottage but with her. Jax embraces her.

9/13 Skye opens up about living life as an alcoholic and explains to Jax why she fell off the wagon. Jax and Skye make love. 

9/17 Jax awakes in bed looking for Skye, who is standing by an open window looking out at the rain. She questions why Jax's body language lately seems to indicate fear. Skye tells Jax she is honored and grateful that he loves her. Jax asks Skye, again, to marry him. Skye says "yes", she can't wait to be Jax's wife. 


9/20 On the limo ride back to the safe house, they cut through the hotel parking lot to get by traffic and as they are stopped there, Brenda sees Jax giving Skye a rose and kissing her. She then screams for him and tries to get out of the limo, but Jason holds her back. He then takes her back to the safe house where the window has now been nailed shut. 

Courtney and AJ go to Skye's family gathering at the Port Charles hotel where they find that Skye and Jax have a very big announcement that they are delaying the sharing of. AJ decides to make his own announcement and confesses to Courtney about how he had called a lawyer after he heard that Sonny was "dead" and began the process of trying to get custody of Michael. He also admits that he went to Monica for money, which she refused and that he then turned to Edward who wanted to make a nasty deal with him. Edward then announces that Courtney had covered up for her husband by becoming a stripper. 

Roy sits in the background watching Skye and Jax's get together and receives a phone call from Alcazar checking in about how everything is going with watching Jax. Later, he meets up with Lucky and Nikolas and Lucky discovers that Nikolas was the one that helped Luke escape. 


9/23 Courtney flees from the Quartermaine family gathering. AJ defends Courtney. Skye announces her wedding plans to the Quartermaines, uninviting Edward, Alan, and Monica in the process.

9/24 Jax and Skye arrive to make wedding arrangements. Carly turns on Jax for getting rid of her from the club. She says he wanted her gone because Carly was a constant reminder of Brenda, who Sonny threw out on the street. Jax apologizes for his past lack of support and offers Carly whatever help she needs. Carly turns to the priest again, but the priest says he doesn't think she saw the shooting. Carly leaves, and the priest apologizes for Carly's hostility towards Jax. Jax questions the priest about the mystery woman. Skye is extremely happy about her impending marriage, and tells her they can get married anywhere in the world. Skye wants to celebrate with the people in PC who matter to her. Skye meets AJ outside the church, and asks him to give her away at the wedding. He agrees. Jax re-presents the necklace to Skye that she hocked for martinis the night of her binge. Jax inaccurately speculates that, since Sonny is gone, Alcazar is no longer interested in him.

9/25 Jax surprises Skye with all the trimmings of a beautifully decorated Church ready for the wedding. Skye thinks it all looked glorious. Outside Alcazar is watching. Jax gives Skye the wedding gown of her dreams Jax parents come in and Lady Jane tells Skye that she would be happy to stand in as her mother. Jane and Skye take the gown to start getting ready for the wedding. Outside, John asks Jax if he thought that Alcazar would show up but Jax said that he didn't care about that. 

Jax walks in and sees Skye getting ready Lady Jane tells Jax that it was bad luck Jax doesn't care but Skye told Jax to leave so that she could get ready. In walks AJ. Skye tells AJ " The Black Sheep gives away the baby sold at birth" AJ says that it doesn't get anymore romantic than that! Skye thanks AJ for being there for her. 

Jason lets Roy know where he was supposed to be and Alcazar was hidden putting on gloves and getting his gun ready so he could shoot Jax. 

Jax shows Ned the ring that he wore when he married Brenda and decided that it was time to let go of the past so he throws the ring as far as he could leaving it to chance. Moments later Brenda gets out of a cab and discovers the ring on the ground.

9/26 Skye and Jax pose for pictures for the photographer at the church. Meanwhile, Alcazar is waiting in one of the reception rooms off of the chapel. He waits for a good clear view of Jax so he can shoot him but Jax's parents are in the way of his view. Jason orders Roy to stay clear of Alcazar and try to find Brenda so that they can get her back to the safe house before Alcazar sees her. Roy is dismayed when he sees Felicia show up, dressed up for the wedding. She refuses to leave and insists on helping Roy find out where Alcazar is so they can stop him from shooting Jax. Roy doesn't tell her that he is working with Jason and that Sonny is alive.

Brenda gets a cab and arrives at the church. She finds a gold wedding band on the ground next to her. She picks it up and reads the inscription. She realizes it is the ring she gave Jax when they got married and feels sad. She is about to go into the church but is startled when Courtney arrives and gets her attention. She asks Brenda if she is here for the wedding. Brenda tells her she came to pray and that she was told there was a private ceremony and so she was just leaving. Courtney tells her that she is sort of related to the bride since her husband AJ is the bride's brother and is walking her down the aisle. Brenda doesn't reveal who she is and lets Courtney go by. Brenda sneaks into the church and hides in one of the reception areas. She sees Jax and almost reveals herself when she is alone in the room with him but Ned shows up and so she loses her nerve and hides in the corner.

Ned and Jax discuss his marriage to Skye. Brenda overhears Jax tell Ned that he wouldn't marry Skye if he didn't love her and intend to be with her forever. Brenda moves to the next room but decides to watch the ceremony. Skye goes in one of the rooms to find a hankerchief that Lila gave her. She sees Alcazar in the room and asks him what he is doing in there. He makes up some story about how he is the Reverend's assistant and was asked to check out the fuse boxes to make sure everything was o.k. for the wedding. Skye buys his explanation and allows him to kiss her cheek for good luck. The ceremony begins with AJ walking Skye down the aisle. As the bride and groom are exchanging vows, Brenda watches from the loft. She thinks about her own wedding to Jax on his yacht years ago and feels painful that she couldn't be happy with him now.

Alcazar opens the door to the room to get ready to shoot Jax and Roy and Felicia see the door open and realize it must be Alcazar. They go down and search for him but the power goes out from the storm outside and the rooms plunge into darkness. Skye feels this could be an omen that they shouldn't get married but Jax writes it off as just a power failure and nothing else. He tells her it is her decision if she wants to postpone the ceremony for another time. Skye decides to go through with the rest of the ceremony after Jax tells her he wants them to be married tonight.

They continue the ceremony and exchange rings. Jason is given orders from one of Sonny's men via Sonny that he is to find Brenda and return her to the safe house and to not try to apprehend Alcazar at this time. Jason reluctantly follows his orders and witnesses Brenda across from him watching the ceremony but the power failure keeps him from getting to her. Alcazar goes to make his move to shoot Jax but Brenda grabs his arm and the gun goes off toward the floor between them. He turns around and finds himself pointing the gun at Brenda, who stares him down.

9/27 Jax and Skye finished there wedding ceremony with no apparent interruption by Alcazar. Jax surprised Skye with a reception in the foyer before they left for home. At the reception, a very frightened Alexis catches the bouquet and fears that she really will be married next (not to mention she was the only single woman there). While they were busy getting married, Alcazar was trying to get a shot at Jax, but Brenda caught him off guard and tried to convince him to shoot her instead. Jason then came in and was able to distract Alcazar so that both he and Brenda could get away. Brenda steals Jax and Skye's limo and gets away. Roy and Jason set off to look for Alcazar again and when Roy finds him, they struggle and Alcazar is shot in the stomach (although he behaves as if he's fine). 

While Skye prepares for her wedding night with Jax, he goes around the cottage and onto the patio, blowing out the candles that they had lit earlier. As he turns to go back inside, someone behind him says, "Congratulations." He turns around to find Brenda, who he had believed dead for the past four years.

9/30 Jax is reunited with Brenda, who explains her absence and warns Jax that his life is in danger. Jax insists that Brenda promise to meet him at her cottage the next day. Jax makes love to Skye, but can't shake thoughts of Brenda.

10/1 Skye wakes up to find Jax not in bed, and not in the cottage. Jax's parents arrive to say goodbye before they leave. Skye asks what they can bring back from Paris for Jax's parents. The parents would like Skye and Jax to stop by in Alaska to visit them on their way back from Paris. Skye gets gushy about Jax being her first true love. Skye serves the in-laws some breakfast, and Jax returns. Jax's mother chides Jax about leaving his new bride the day after the wedding. Everyone loves everyone, but Jax's mother suspects something is afoul.

After the in-laws leave, Jax apologizes for his absence. Skye gets the news from Jax that their honeymoon has to be postponed. Jax tells Skye about Alcazar, the arms dealer who had Sonny killed. He tells her Alcazar is now after him. Skye wants to tell the police, but Jax tells her Jason is taking care of it. Jax says he is getting bodyguards for the house and makes Skye promise not to leave the house. He doesn't tell her about Brenda, but refers to Brenda as "someone close to the situation." Alan stops by the cottage to visit Skye and he finds out the honeymoon is postponed. Skye apologizes to Alan for excluding him from her wedding. Skye says Jax makes her feel like she's the only woman in the world for him, and she believes it. 



Jax arrives at Brenda’s cottage looking for Brenda. He's brought food in a brown bag. Brenda had gone for a walk in the woods, and Jax is concerned with her making herself vulnerable. Brenda points out that Alcazar is after Jax. Jax gives Brenda a change of clothes and some necessities in a duffel bag. Jax wants her to stay in PC, and Brenda says she wants to leave. Brenda mentions that Jax should be home with his new wife.

After Jax leaves, Brenda checks the care package. She then looks through her old desk locating a pen and paper. Brenda writes a rambling goodbye letter to Jax. She asks Jax not to follow her or try to rescue her. Brenda believes that, if she leaves town, Alcazar will follow her and leave Jax alone. She claims to still be in love with Jax too, the way she claimed to still be in love with Sonny last week. Brenda is ready to leave the cottage when she notices someone approaching. It's Jason looking for her. Jax arrives and asks what Jason is doing there, to which Jason asks where Brenda is. Jason tells Jax to protect himself, and anyone else he cares about, alluding to Brenda. Brenda comes out of the closet and tries to tell Jax how dangerous Luis is, but Jax doesn't listen.

10/2 Skye walks outside with a gun ready to shoot the man that she think works for Alcazar. Jason steps in and grabs the gun then tells Skye that the guy was on her side and so was he. Skye asked Jason where Jax was, he brushed her off telling her that he was protecting her and not to worry.

Jax walks in on a topless Brenda, which startles her. Jax wanted to know if she was ok and asks if she needed anything. Brenda asks Jax what Skye was like and Jax told her that he was really happy and how much he loves her. Brenda and Jax talk about Skye, Ned, and Lois and about her relationship with Alcazar. Jax tells Brenda how much he was in love with Skye but when he looks at Brenda his eyes tell a different story. Brenda sees that Jax had left his Jacket and holds it close. Jason bangs on the door. 

Jax returns home and Skye tells him how worried that she was about him. Jax tells Skye that it would all be over soon. Skye then catches Jax in a lie about where he had been.

10/3 Jason shows up at the cottage and tries to get Brenda to leave with him since the cottage isn't safe if she ever mentioned it to Alcazar. Brenda refuses to leave the cottage. Jason gets a call from Monica who informs him that she was kidnapped by some man and sent to treat some guy with a gunshot wound. She tells him that she managed to get him to let her get some antibiotics at GH and she got away from the man by hiding in the elevator. Jason agrees to meet her at the hospital.

Brenda calls Jax and tells him not to come tonight but that Jason had to leave and that Alcazar was shot. Jax admits to lying to Skye about his whereabouts all day but tells her he did it to protect her from Alcazar. He tells her he has to leave for a couple of days and tells her not to leave the house for any reason. Jason and Jax's men guard the house but Edward shows up to harass Skye about Jax's whereabouts. Skye doesn't let him get to her but she still worries about Jax's safety.

Jax shows up at the cottage but Brenda isn't pleased that he came. Jax offers to fly her to New Orleans and hide out until they catch Alcazar. Brenda agrees to leave with him to New Orleans. However, Alcazar shows up and spoils their plans. He aims a gun at them. Jax refuses to let him get to Brenda and take her away and steps in front of a wounded Alcazar and tries to rush him. Alcazar shoots Jax despite Brenda's pleas to leave him alone. Jax falls to the floor with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Brenda screams and rushes to cover Jax's body to protect him from Alcazar. Alcazar tells her to come with him and he'll let her call 911 in the limo. He tells Brenda that the longer she stays there, the better chance that Jax will bleed to death. Jax asks her to leave him there and run while she still can. Brenda kisses Jax goodbye. Suddenly, two shots are fired and Brenda covers Jax with her body thinking it is Alcazar shooting her. Alcazar goes down after Sonny arrives and shoots him twice. Sonny approaches to see Brenda hovering over Jax. Sonny calls to her to get her attention. Brenda looks over and sees it is Sonny and is stunned.

10/4 Brenda is shocked to see Sonny alive! He tells her that his death was staged. She warns him not to touch her and demands that he call 911 for Jax. Jason rushes in, Sonny tells him that he shot Alcazar, and Alcazar had shot Jax. Jason applies pressure to Jax’s wound and asks Brenda to talk to Jax to keep him awake. Brenda urges him, “Nobody leaves, remember?”
