Ned & Lois #6 July 12 - August 23, 1994: 4 hour dvd7/12 Ned gets all the Qs votes on the toxic waste incinerator and it is a go. Lucy wants to know what the heck is going on. Katherine turns over the Conway evidence to the Q’s but reminds Ned no divorce tomorrow. Brenda, Sonny, and Lois tell Miguel that he is free of his old contract. Damian thinks that Lucy just needs to bide her time. 7/13 Lois has a fantasy of Eddie quitting his day job in pharmeceuticals and devoting his life to her. Ned arrives and suggests that they settle down, have children, and buy a little house in Brooklyn (he wants to get her away from the gatehouse and the Q's and Kat). Lois says she's not ready to settle down and hates the idea. 7/14 When Ned tells Brenda his idea of moving to Brooklyn, she is disgusted that he is willing to get Lois to sacrifice her career in order to protect himself. They talk, he is terrified of this deception blowing up in his face and hurting Lois. Ned wants her help with Lois while he gets the goods on Katherine. Lois moves into the gatehouse. Brenda tries to get Lois to steer clear of Katherine now that she is on Q property. Lois gives Miguel a tour of her new office. He tells her that he is writing some songs in his spare time. Lois is worried about Miguel burning himself out with all his commitments. Miguel signs his contract with L&B and they celebrate. 7/15 Katherine convinces Ned to move into the Q mansion east wing. 7/18 Ned hires Mac to dig into Katherine’s past. Lois and Miguel audition musicians for his band. Katherine holds the press conference in the Q den for the incinerator project. Edward reads a prepared statement and takes questions. Lois and Miguel talk about his life (Note: Newsbrief interrupts the scene: 3 minutes lost). Ned surprises Lois by showing up at the gatehouse. 7/20 Note: Newsbrief, GH joined in progress. Brenda tells Ned he has to get Katherine not to replace her at Deception. Katherine tells Ned that she was not planning to replace Brenda, she just wanted to make her sweat. 7/21 Brenda tells Katherine that she does not give a damn about her modeling gig at Deception. She has a better offer and she is leaving. Ned invites her to go anywhere in the world with him as a second honeymoon. They kiss and talk about their trip. Eddie says he will arrange it with a travel agent friend who will help with the financial details. 7/22 At the gatehouse, Ned and Lois talk honeymoon. Lois wishes for an island getaway. She worries about spending too much money; he lies and says a friend got them a great deal. Eddie says he will arrange it with a travel agent friend who will help with the financial details. Edward rails on about the demonstrators. The Qs are interrupted by a blaring car horn. Katherine arrives in her new sports car with her bags. Katherine proceeds to order Reginald around until Monica gives her a stern lecture on correct Q behavior. Ned sneaks off to see Lois. Katherine wonders where he went. 7/25 Down at the gatehouse, Lois, Miguel and Brenda lounge around and listen to Miguel's latest track. Lois announces, to his shock and terror, that Miguel and his group have a gig that very night at the Outback! Then Brenda surprises Miguel with a nice silk shirt to wear for his performance. The gals egg Miguel on to try on the shirt. He obliges them by removing his shirt, finally, and Fabio-like, tosses his hair around before trying on the silk shirt. The gals are fooling around with the buttons and patting and touching Miguel's chest when Sonny walks in. Back at the gatehouse, Sonny and Brenda are down to skin inside the steamy studio while Lois does bookwork outside the door in the main room. She's busy daydreaming of her Eddie when Kat appears at the door on the pretext of wanting to take her first look at a “real, live recording studio". Lois is nice to her and congratulates Kate on her recent wedding to the Quartermaine's "oldest grandson". Katherine is cool and sneering toward Lois. Uh oh, Brenda hears Kate's voice and literally throws Sonny off of her. She pulls on her clothes and bolts for the door to get rid of Katherine before she and Lois realize they've married the same guy. While Brenda is dressing, Kate is telling Lois in no certain terms to stay away from her husband! A confused Lois starts to get angry at being ordered about and tells Kate that she's got no idea what the bitch is talking about; she's got her Eddie and she isn't interested in Kate's husband, Mr. What's His Name. Things start to heat up but Brenda bursts onto the scene and gives Lois some story about the soundboard being incorrect. Lois runs off to check it out. Brenda tells Kate to leave, then exits following Lois. Ned pops into the gatehouse later on and finds Brenda prone on the sofa and nursing a headache. She tells him about that day's near-catastrophe of Lois and Katerine almost coming to blows. Then she yells at him for being a lying, selfish pee-pee and sucking her into this nightmare. Ned looks worried. She asks him how he keeps it all straight, and he admits to telling her that he is “winging it”. Brenda warns him to figure out a way to keep Katherine in the mansion and away from the gatehouse. 7/26 Katherine mentions to Ned about her chat with Lois. Katherine also doesn't understand how Brenda could be involved with Sonny. Katherine wants to go to The Outback. Ned turns her down. Ned drops by Lois'. Ned asks about Kat's visit. Lois was not impressed. She also didn't quite understand all Kat said, something about Lois two timing with Kat's man. As Lois said "Like I would look twice at some guy who would marry a dead fish like that". She goes on about this dumb Ned Ashton character. Ned looks like he swallowed a CD player. They start making out. Lois goes to check on the nervous Miguel. Sonny thinks that Miguel's image is all wrong. Miguel sings at the Outback as Ned looks in through the window. 7/27 Edward gets upset about a big anti-incinerator article in the paper. Ned arrives at Deception to show Damian the article. He's furious. Katherine arrives and Lucy loves watching Ned ream her about not doing a good enough job with PR. Katherine insists they need to neutralize Laura. 7/28 The wrong L&B equipment is delivered to the gatehouse. Brenda tells Lois she will handle things with Sonny. Sonny tells Brenda and Lois that he wants to change Miguel’s image. They argue when Lois reminds him that she has creative control. Lois asks Brenda if Sonny is jealous of Miguel and that is why he blew up over his image. 7/29 Over dinner, Lois whines to Ned about Sonny and Miguel, while nearby Brenda struggles unsuccessfully to assemble some new sound equipment. Lois and Brenda discuss how to handle Sonny and Lois gets an idea. Later, Lois dances around as Sonny arrives. They discuss the good old days back in Bensenhurst and the people they knew. Lois goads him into singing "The Brooklyn Song." Lois and Sonny swap stories, then they teach Brenda the "secret stoop handshake" while Ned hides outside waiting for Sonny to leave. Edward has a family meeting to discuss Jason for collaborating with the enemy. Katherine and Monica get into it. Ned tries to argue that ELQ helps the community. (Note: video drops out for a second). Ned and Katherine hit the Q hot tub. Ned gives her the cold shoulder and feigns exhaustion. They hear the singing from the gatehouse and Ned goes to investigate. Lois and Sonny teach Brenda the "secret stoop handshake" while Ned lurks outside. After Brenda and Sonny leave, Ned returns to see Lois. When he asks who was singing, she says it was Sonny and accuses him of being jealous. He admits to it and says he's staying the night regardless of the consequences. She is thrilled that he is spending the whole night with him as it has been awhile. 8/1 Ned, fresh from Lois' bed, slinks back to his and Katy's bedroom at the Q mansion. He slides into bed beside a sleeping Kat and breathes a sigh of relief that he's made it safely. Just then her eyes snap open and she hisses at him, "it's 4am ..where have you been all night?" Kat starts to ream out Ned, who cravenly blames Reginald for not delivering a message to her. Ned claims there was a broken pipe at the PC Hotel and the subsequent hotel crisis kept him away all night in town. Then followed a pretty funny montage of photos of Ned explaining himself and Kate, with a bored expression, listening to him jabber on while not believing one thing he said. All the time this was going on, the song "Lies" played in the background. After watching him do his Liar's Dance for a while, Kat decided to forgive Ned, at least for the moment and became amorous. Ned pleaded exhaustion and told Kat that he wasn't a "sex machine"! Even after she offered to do all the "work" and said Ned could lie there like a dead mackerel, he still rebuffed her, much to her fury. Later on at breakfast, Ned and Katherine get into a fight. Ned said that all of Katherine's demands have been met, including "servicing" her. She is angry then tries to smooth things over. Eventually telling Ned that she thinks their marriage has a lot of potential. Ned daydreams of his ever-loving Lois. 8/4 Mac tells Ned that he has found out that Katherine has a very shady past in NYC and maybe linked to embezzlement. Ned covers when Katherine walks in on them. Ned tells Katherine he is going to DC on business. Ned springs the second honeymoon plan on Lois. They leave tonight. Lois and Ned end up in bed and she is worried they are going to miss their plane. Ned tells her that the plane is waiting for them. 8/5 Ned whisks Lois off on a second honeymoon to a romantic Carribean island (no location scenes). Sipping champagne, Lois and Ned travel first class aboard the ELQ jet. Ned tells her his travel agent friend loaned it to them because Ned suggested a therapeutic device for the guy's suffering wife. Ned slips up front to tell a crewman to only refer to him as "Sir" and not Mr. Ashton. Lois and Ned hit some turbulence and end up on the floor. As Lois looks out the plane window, Ned rests his head on her chest. "Are those the Grand Tetons?" she asks. "I'll say," he answers. [Note: Grand Teton is French for big breasts, so this is a clever if somewhat crude joke.] He pulls out the pre-nup she previously asked for. She makes him change a clause that gave her half his money but he got none of hers. She tells him the money would mean nothing without him. 8/8 They arrive in their candlelit hotel room after swimming in the ocean. Lois is sure that Ned can't really afford the vacation and he must have a rich relative hanging on the family tree; Ned denies it. Lois keeps on getting back to how much the trip must have cost. Ned says he took some money out of savings. Lots of kissing, snuggling, holding each other, they reveal in having this time alone together. Ned is on the verge of telling her the truth, but reneges. Ned & Lois, have lobster races. 8/10 Katherine is angry when she can't get hold of Ned. Alan tells her that if she can't keep track of him, she shouldn't expect everyone else to do it for her. Katherine asks Brenda about Ned. Ned and Lois are eating lobster for breakfast and Ned talks about how happy he is. Lois tries to convince Ned that he'd be even happier if he committed to the music. He tells her he does foresee a time soon when he will end his double life. 8/11 Upon their return home, Ned flashes back to their first honeymoon in Coney Island. Lois tells Brenda and Sonny about Ned’s days of a double life being almost over. Katherine questions Ned about why she could not get a hold of him in DC. She is teed he shows no enthusiasm when it comes to their marriage. Edward warns Ned not to push Katherine too far until they can push her off a cliff. Ned tells him about the PI he hired. 8/16 Ned is in the hot tub day dreaming about Coney Island. Katherine comes to join him. Katherine puts the moves on Ned, he puts her on ice. The phone rings, its Lois and she invites him over to the Outback to join Miguel. Ned had to decline. Miguel sings at The Outback. 8/17 Ned shows up to record at the studio and warns Brenda to keep Sonny and the Q's out. Brenda stops Lois from having Eddie and Sonny meet at The Idle Rich recording session. Ned lays down tracks for the next Rich album. Brenda puts out another fire when AJ shows up at the gatehouse to see “the great Eddie Maine”. Lois finds a picture of Jenny & Ned together and she's jealous. Brenda lets it slip that Jenny was married to Ned. 8/18 Lois confronts Ned about Jenny being his girlfriend and also Ned Ashton’s wife. 8/18 Ned has to quickly cover it up. Ned is furious with Brenda for her slip up. Brenda tells Ned to be rid of Katherine before it’s too late. Ned confides he has a plan and some goods on Katherine. Brenda is all ears. 8/19 Sonny gripes to Lois about not having met Eddie, he is ticked about not being invited to Eddie’s recording session. Lois snaps back about how badly he's been treating Miguel. Sonny’s jealousy over Brenda’s friendship blows up again, and Lois reams Sonny for it. 8/23 Ned visits Monica followed by AJ. AJ is really choked up and lets slip that Monica doesn't look all that great. An enthusiastic Lois wants to meet Eddie's business contacts and tells him that he would like to have a dinner party and she will cook a fabulous meal, as Ned looks at her in dismay. **The end of #7** |
