Ned & Lois #22 September 11 - December 25, 1996: 3 hour dvd9/11/96 Ned tell them that Jax and Tracy both have their fingers in a number of ELQ pies and has mounted a powerful campaign against ELQ. Tracy and Jax meet and Brenda overhears them talking about their plans.9/12/96 Ned packs. Ned denies it when Lois thinks he really doesn’t wants to move. Brenda walks in on Tracy and Jax plotting. Tracy panics. Jax says the ball's already in play, and it's too late for Ned to do anything about it. Brenda eavesdrops and goes to see Ned and Lois and tells them about the meeting. Lois and Gloria talk. Lois is worried that the Qs will self-destruct if they lose ELQ. Lois tells Ned they should stay till he bests his mother and secures ELQ. 9/13/96 Jax admits to Brenda that he intends to take over ELQ. Jax tries to explain life in the big game to Brenda. Lois convinces Ned that he needs to stay and defeat Jax and Tracy, and then they can go to LA. Ned offers help to Edward. They need to stop Tracy first. Lois overhears them talking about Tracy’s hit and run. 9/17/96 Lois asks Ned about Tracy’s hit and run. Ned delivers a threat to Jax. Lois sets a trap for Tracy. 9/18/96 Ned and Jax face off. Lois gets Tracy’s confession of the cover up of her past hit and run on tape. Things get heated and Lois gets a crap in her stomach. Gloria rushes her to GH. Edward wants Ned in NYC asap. Edward admits he miscalculated and offers Ned a three year contract back as CEO of ELQ. 9/19/96 Lois is upset at herself for getting so upset at Tracy. Brenda arrives at GH to be with Lois. Ned turns down Edward’s offer of a three year contract at ELQ. Ned gets word about Lois being at GH. Ned arrives at GH. Lois is diagnosed with false contractions and released. Ned explains the proposed 3 year contract with ELQ to Lois. 9/20/96 Lois admits to Ned that although she did tell him to do what he must to protect ELQ, she now has regrets. She plays the tape of Tracy’s confession. For the sake of the baby, Lois wants to go back to Brooklyn. 9/24/96 Lois tells Ned she is leaving tonight. Lois tells Brenda that she is leaving. Ned and Lois say goodbye. Brenda tells Jax about Ned and Lois breaking up. The trail of cause and effect leads back to Jax and he has to make it stop. He smoothes things over with her. Ned and Lois flashbacks. 9/27/96 Ned accepts Edward’s contract and wants a ELQ board meeting tonight. Sonny gives Ned his support. Ned says if Sonny really is serious about saving ELQ he should resign his seat on the board. Ned offers to swap Sonny's stock for a small ELQ subsidiary, a paper mill. Ned gets Sonny's proxy for the board meeting. Brenda says goodbye to Ned before her tour. Brenda tells Sonny about Lois leaving. Tracy meets with Jax to discuss their next move. Jax tells Tracy she is now on her own. 9/30/96 Jax tells the Qs that he miscalculated and underestimated them. Sonny is not so forgiving. Tracy arrives at the board meeting. Ned plays the tape of her confession. 10/1/96 The ELQ board meeting continues. The Qs learn that Lois has gone back to Brooklyn. Ned tells Edward that he intends to stay at ELQ for 6 months and then he is going to be with his wife. He orders Edward to Tracy banish again. Tracy leaves the Q mansion. 10/3/96 Lila and Ned have a heart to heart about his heartbreak over Lois leaving. Tracy gets a visit from Ned at her sleazy hotel room. 10/4/96 Tracy and Ned’s talk at the sleazy motel continues. He lowers the boom on her. 10/25 Ned gets the word from Brenda that he has a new daughter. He wants to come there, but Brenda says that Lois thinks he should wait. She gives him the details of the birth, i.e. 7lb 10oz and 19in. He doesn't tell the other Q's. As Ned tells Lila about the newest Q, Edward appears, already knowing the news, and congratulates him. Ned angrily demands Edward never mention her name again. When he leaves, Lila also snaps at the befuddled Edward saying she can't forgive him for keeping her from her great grandchild. As Ned sits in the dark nursery, we get one of those artsy GH scenes. Images of Ned's and Lois' wedding fade into Brenda trying on her bridal veil followed by Sonny on the docks thinking of her and him embracing on the beach. Brenda finds Ned in the nursery packing up Brooke Lynn's things. She tells him all about his daughter and her birth. She tries to give Ned a picture of the baby, he can't bear to look at it so she leaves it for him on the dresser. Ned asks Brenda to show him how she held the baby, he then holds an imaginary baby and tenderly inacts placing it in the crib. After Brenda leaves, Ned sadly gazes at the picture of his daughter. 11/28/96 Thanksgiving Edward's Dream - On Thanksgiving, Edward has a dream. Alan, Monica and Emily come in. Alan says: "I can't wait for it to start snowing. I just want to go sledding so badly!" They stand in front of the fireplace hugging. Edward says, snidely, "Let me guess. The Waltons! Very good. You keep this up all through dinner and you will make Lila very happy." Emily hopes they won't have pizza again. Alan promises a traditional old fashioned Thanksgiving. The violins play as Sonny arrives. Alan and Monica welcome him warmly as Reginald kisses his ring. Edward is huffing about Sonny and that Jax character stealing his business and Sonny tells him not to take it personally, he'll have himself another heart attack. Emily goes to Sonny and hugs him. Mysterious Asian music plays as Ned enters wearing a monk's robe and talks about peace and harmony and finding his spiritual path. Brenda and Jax come in, wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving. Jax and Sonny shake hands. Edward is blustery and baffled. "ELQ has been taken over by cretins and imbeciles! Now, Ned, you have to do something!" Ned proposes that they donate all existing ELQ assets to various Bensonhurst charities and start all over. They think this is a great idea. Next enters President and Mrs. A.J. Quartermaine. Keesha is in pillbox hat and Chanel suit, very Kennedy-esque. ("Ruffles and Flourishes" plays.) Edward shouts: "This is a NIGHTMARE!" and they chorus: "SHUT UP, EDWARD!" Lila wheels in and announces that Tracy is home and has brought Dillan with her. Edward covers his eyes. Jason drives his motorcycle into the room. Lila hopes he'll stay for dinner. He states he came to rip off some candlesticks and then is off to meet up with his buds at the tattoo parlor. Emily begs to go as she has been dying to get 'Quartermaines rule' tattooed on my thigh!" He tells Emily that she's not setting one foot out of the house with that hoodlem. Emily sweet-talks him by telling him that Justus and Sonny have taught her to use surveillance equipment and she has taped all of his private conversations. If she doesn't get her way, she will turn them all over to Dara Jensen. Keesha informs them that the CIA has checked into Edward's background. It turns out he has another illegitimate son. Monica was having so much fun she forgot to give Edward his medical results. It's Good News! He needs surgery right away! Alan's hand is all fixed and he's ready. Alan puts his claw up: "Gee, Monica, ya think?" He hopes he remembers how to do surgery. Alan has a bright idea: "You (to Jason) used to be premed, would you like to assist? What do you think?" He mumbles and mutters. He's asleep in the chair with Reginald and Lila watching him. Reginald asks: "You think we should wake him?" Lila thinks "might as well let him sleep while he can." 12/24/96 Ned sits alone once again in the empty nursery and sings a Christmas song as a montage plays. |
