Ned & Lois #23 "Lois Returns" Feb & Oct, 1997: 1 1/2 hour Bonus Dvd2/7 - 2/18, 1997 During Lois' return, there are many very sweet reunion scenes with Ned and the baby, Lois & Brenda, Lois and Sonny. Ned answers a knock on the door, he unexpectedly finds Lois there with the baby. This is such a sweet moment to watch Ned hold his baby girl. He shows Lois the closet full of stuffed animals and dresses he has bought for Brooke. Later, Ned surprises Edward and Lila with their great grandaughter. They are enchanted to meet Brooke Lynn. Then, Brenda and Lois reconnect and talk about the Q's and Ned, Sonny, Jax and Miranda. They discuss Lois's short nails. Ned and Brooke return. Ned and Brenda go to feed baby. Jax arrives. He apologizes to Lois for his part in the ELQ mess that drove Lois away. Lois is forgiving. Ned and Lois are alone. Sonny and Jason come to visit and see Lois and the baby. During this time, Lois softens and it sure appears that Ned & Lois will possibly reconcile. She admits that leaving the way she did was wrong and she wants Ned to be part of his daughter's life.Initially at the Q's, Monica suggested Ned stay with his family and enjoy them and not feel the need to spend the day in court support her. Lois, however, wasn't comfortable with the idea Ned abandoning Monica and sent him off to the courthouse. Ned was afraid Lois wouldn't be there when he returned, Lois assured him she would be and they could have a nice dinner together. Meanwhile, Lois decides to go to the courthouse and tells Brooke how nice it will be to see her Daddy. Ned was called to the witness stand in Dorman's harrassment suit against Monica. This came as a surprise to Monica, who was stunned. Ned is questioned about the affair he had with Monica while working as a tennis pro under a different name. As Lois enters the courtroom, she is stunned to hear her husband admit he had slept with his Aunt Monica (not knowing at the time that she was his aunt by marriage). Back at the gatehouse, Lois is hurt over one more secret kept by Ned even though the affair happened long before Lois met Ned. She says her goodbyes to Ned, takes their baby and leaves. Later on, Lois returns to the gatehouse to talk to Ned. Instead, she overhears his conversation with Justus. Ned had just told Justus that he was leaving ELQ and that Justus was the new CEO. Justus countered that HE was leaving ELQ to resume his law practice. Ned said that he knew about Damian Smith and would use the knowledge to force Justus to stay at ELQ, etc. etc. etc. So Lois overhears this latest attempt by a desparate Ned to blackmail Justus into taking over at ELQ. Ned believes the only chance he has with Lois is to leave ELQ, and he feels Justus is the only other person capable of taking over. Ned even brings up Mary Mae's good name and what it would do to the Ward House reputation if the information of Justus' murder coming out - Lois looks particuarly disappointed with that piece of manipulation. Lois is shocked. She has returned as being too hasty in her departure and decided to try one more time. Ned's blackmailing Justus is the last straw and thats it, she ends it and says she will get a divorce. At this time, Lois is so very sad. Ned though becomes angry. He says Lois never really loved him as Ned but only loved Eddie. The next day, Ned has flashback: He is saying goodbye to Brooke, then Lois and baby leave. Then back to present, Monica arrives, she would like to try to explain things to Lois. She feels very guilty. Ned discusses the ending of his marriage with Monica and he says it isn't fixable. September 30 - October 2, 1997 After Sonny leaves Brenda at the alter in Sept, 97 Lois pops in to cheer up Brenda. The two, along with Emily & Lila catch up and gossip about their families and eventually Lila & Em take the baby and give the girlfriends some privacy. Its great to see L&B together again if only for a brief time. Later, at the big house, Alexis dropped in and met Ned's daughter, Brooke Lyn. While she was cradling the child, Lois appeared in time to hear her say "I know your daddy." Lois figures Alexis and Ned have a lot in common, both being the keepers of the skeletons in the closet. Alexis really prefers "gatekeeper"! Lois asks if Ned and Alexis are stepping out. Lois looks strangely disturbed by the idea of Ned moving onto someone else. Emily comes in to take the baby for a walk, and Alexis makes her escape. Emily wishes Lois could stay longer. Emily feels all in between grownup and child. Lois tells Emily to concentrate on what we CAN be. Emily leaves and Lois asks Lila about Ned and Alexis. Its sad once again, when Lois says her goodbyes to Brenda and leaves PC. She sees Jax on her way out and then she is gone. |
