Anna #9  January 9 – Feb 25, 1986 – 8 hour original edit

Jake tells her he was afraid she had been killed. Bobbie assures him she is fine. Teri is in the hospital, babbling that she didn't mean to hurt someone. The doctor says that she feels Bobbie is regressing over a conflict that Teri had with her grandmother. She has is having flashbacks to the morning after the Valentine's Dance, three years ago. The doctor questions her and she says her grandmother doesn't want her anymore and is throwing her out of the house. We see a black and white flashback of her grandmother forcing Teri to leave town and Teri begging to be able to stay. Jennifer tells her she is ashamed of her, never wants to see her again, and to get out of Laurelton.

Anna is reunited with Bobbie in the sheriff's office. She wants to know what happened? Bobbie tells her she was surrounded by a group of men in the graveyard; they blindfolded her, knocked her out and put her in a cave. They then later released her. The sheriff suggests that Bobbie fell, hit her head and dreamed the whole thing! When the sheriff leaves the room, Bobbie tells Anna that she did see the face of one of the men. She tells Anna that she came upon them digging a grave and that is when they knocked her out. The sheriff calls one of the cohorts and tells him that Bobbie didn't see any faces so it is okay for him to head to Port Charles!

Anna meets with a bloodhound trainer who she would like to hire. When he asks why all the secrecy, she tells him she is trying to solve a murder case. Anna believes the murder case she is working on in Port Charles is linked to a possible murder in Laurelton. She tells him she suspects that the body has been moved from the Laurelton cemetery up into the hills. The trainer says that it could be rough going up in the hills but his dog could help her locate where a body was reburied.

They head out to the cemetery and the dog immediately picks up a scent. Anna meets with Jake and Bobbie and tells them they found Earl Moody’s body. Jake and Bobbie are returning to Port Charles though Jake doesn’t want to leave her in Laurelton alone. Back in Port Charles, the godfathers are helping get the new Devane home ready and keeping Robin company.

The coroner tells Anna and the sheriff that he has identified the body as Earl Moody’s and it appears he was strangled with a gold chain and shows Anna the remnants of the chain. Anna has been eager to question Earl’s housekeeper, Sarah, but the sheriff insists she is out of town. When Anna comes out of the sheriff’s office, she sees a note that Sarah is at home and she immediately heads over to talk to her. She tells the distraught Sarah that they found Earl’s body and he was murdered.

Anna is questioning Sarah about Earl when the sheriff calls and tells her to expect Anna to come by and she is not to say much or give her any information and to watch what she says. Anna also questions her about Neil, and how kind she was to Sarah after Earl’s disappearance. Anna tells her that Neil was murdered in Port Charles.

Anna makes arrangements with a paper from a nearby town to print the picture of Bobbie’s kidnapper and bring additional papers to Laurelton. She explains she can’t get the Laurelton paper to print the article. Bobbie tells her that unfortunately the sketch doesn’t look all that much like her attacker. Ginny Blake offers to bring Bobbie on air with the police sketch artist and to make changes to the sketch on the air.

The sheriff continues to be difficult and wants to know when she is leaving town. Anna explains that she will wait till after the will is read. This surprises him and wants to know how she knows about that as he only just found out? She says she didn’t know before know, obviously taking a guess and it paid off. Later, Anna overhears a patron in the restaurant complain about not being able to find any Purity water and how odd it is. Anna asks about it and he explains it’s the best water in the country. Anna finds that odd as well and sneaks into the storeroom and sneaks a bottle of Purity Water, which has a picture of Teri on the label. As soon as Anna leaves, the sheriff gets a call reporting Anna’s visit to the storeroom.

Anna then heads back to talk to Sarah again and asks about the O’Connor boys. Sarah explains that Kevin was always a good boy but Patrick was always the wild one getting into trouble. One of Sarah’s neighbor’s come by to show her the picture on the front page of the paper. She sees Anna and immediately leaves; Anna wants to know if Sarah recognizes the man in the paper. Sheriff arrives just in time to insure Sarah doesn’t provide any additional information.

Anna arrives at the reading of the will, along with Kevin, Patrick, Jennifer, Ted, Sarah, and the sheriff. The sheriff tells Jennifer and Ted that there has been a leak as someone had to have told Neil where to find Earl’s body (assumption being that is how he got the glass eye and then headed off to confront Jennifer).

Earl left the bulk of the estate to his nephew Neil, but in the event of his death, the next line is Patrick! The sheriff is suddenly very eager to agree with Anna that the motive for his murder was greed, seemingly happy to see the blame shifted to Patrick. Jet setter Anna heads back to Port Charles to check up on Patrick’s alibi, Anna finds an hour that Patrick’s whereabouts aren’t accounted for and she heads over the brownstone to confront him. Anna tells him that he is the #1 suspect, as he may have known he was going to inherit a fortune from Earl if Neil wasn’t alive.

Anna asks Teri why she concealed that her picture is on the label of Purity Water? Teri is puzzled and tells her that it didn’t seem important and doesn’t understand what connection that has to the murders? Anna obviously isn’t sure either but feels it has some connection since they went to such lengths to hide the bottle water from her.

Jennifer gets a call from Russell, Bobbie’s kidnapper, he is desperate to get out town and he can’t go back to Laurelton.  Jennifer promises to get him money so he can leave town. Anna tells Frisco that Bobbie has spotted her kidnapper in the park and Anna puts out a net across the city to seal off all exits. Jennifer overhears Bobbie tell Teri about seeing her kidnapper and tries to chalk it up to nerves and suggests that Patrick is the murdered as he stood to benefit the most. (Interesting how eager she is to put the blame on Patrick, when they can’t do enough to protect Kevin and Teri.) Jennifer worries to Ted what will happen if Anna catches Russell before he can get out of town.

Bobbie receives a death threat at the hospital, Anna immediately takes the evidence and wants it tested for prints and matched against hospital personnel who may have touched the note. Frisco has a breakthrough as she spotted Russell in Port Charles the day that Neil was killed.

Anna heads back to the brownstone to question the residents about why there is so much secrecy surrounding the Purity Water company? Earl had extensive stock in the company, and Anna would like to know all of the names of the board members. Anna also asks why the bottle water was hidden from her so that she wouldn’t see Teri’s picture on the label? No one has any idea and Jennifer plays dumb. When Anna gets a list of the board members she finds it interesting that Earl Moody’s name is still on the letterhead? They point out that they only recently found out he was dead. Patrick points out that he now has Earl’s shares in the company. Jennifer continues to snark at him and he snaps that she better start worrying as he now has controlling shares of the company. She responds by asking why Anna hasn’t arrested him for murder, as Jennifer knows he has been under suspicion.

Anna sends Frisco on an undercover assignment to Laurelton to meet with each of the board members and find out if any of them resemble the sketch of Bobbie's kidnapper. She urges him to use caution, as Laurelton is a very dangerous place as the town is full of people trying to keep a secret. Frisco and Sam arrive at the Purity headquarters and apply for a job as a couple of college students.

Meanwhile, Bobbie works with the police sketch artist and gets a more accurate sketch. Anna shows it to Jennifer and Ted and they both pretend they have no clue who it is. A panicked Jennifer calls the sheriff and tells him to get all of the pictures of Russell taken down from the water company. Frisco and Sam see a picture of Russell on the wall as the plant manager. They later return and steal the picture, Sarah comes in and sees them sneaking out. She calls the sheriff and tells him about the theft.

The sheriff reports to Jennifer that the picture thieves escaped and got the Medford police to fax the picture of Russell to Anna. Knowing that Anna was closing in on the ID, they suddenly recognize and identify the picture. Soon after, an officer arrives with the fax and Anna has confirmation of his identify. Anna is really puzzled by the continuing ties to the Purity Water company and questions Teri further. She insists that she didn’t have any connection with Russell. She posed for the label picture and had her first drink the night of the party celebrating her as Miss Purity but she doesn’t seem to remember anything else except Russell was at the party that night.

Russell is hiding out at the Bucket of Blood, he calls Ted and demands his money and warns him if he goes down then so will Jennifer and Ted! Frisco and Sam come in, spot him, though he shoves someone into them and runs out. Anna is getting ready for work, there is a stain on her blouse, her hair is in curlers, and the phone keeps ringing. First the mayor to ream her yet again for not finding the murderer, then Burt to get an update, then a tip about Russell being spotted at a flop hotel and heads over there.

Russell spots them in the lobby and leaves and hides in the basement of the brownstone. Teri comes downstairs, spots him and begins screaming. He knocks her out; Patrick comes running downstairs and finds her. He calls Anna to fill her in; she sends Frisco and Sam to the bus depot to watch for him. Russell is at the depot; he calls Ted and tells him that he went to meet him at the basement at the brownstone but Teri found him. Frisco spots him at the depot, he calls Anna’s house to fill her in. She isn’t there but Sean answers, he tells him that he has to get a hold of Anna to find out how she wants to play this.

Russell calls to demand money from Jennifer while Frisco has the operator interrupt the line with an emergency call for Anna. Sam bumps into Russell and feels the gun; Frisco says they can’t try to take him in the crowded depot, as it would be too dangerous. Russell calls back and tells Jennifer if she doesn’t get him money immediately then he will go to the police and tell them everything. Jennifer tells him he has to get out of there as the police are headed there. Anna arrives and Sean joins her (yah Sean!), she doesn’t want a shoot out in the middle of the bus station.

Since he is obviously surrounded by police officers all staring him down, he pulls out his gun and shoots, Anna returns fire and kills him! Unfortunately, she doesn’t get any answers and the real mystery remains unsolved. Sean shows up to congratulate her and take Robin to school. Robin is very proud of how her mommy helped her friend at the Brownstone. When Robin goes off to have breakfast, Sean questions why Anna isn’t satisfied? She doesn’t have a motive for Russell to have done the murders. Sean suggests she question those from Laurelton to see if they can come up with a motive for Russell to have killed and if not that perhaps there the murderer is still out there.

Jennifer is relieved, though Ted says that he isn’t so sure that Russell killed Neil and Earl. Anna visits Burt in the hospital and claims she didn’t mean to kill Russell, she was aiming for his legs but someone jostled her (don’t you just hate when that happens?). Anna heads back over to the Brownstone and questions Patrick and Kevin over why they were unable to recognize such a prominent person such as Russell in such a small town? Kevin claims they moved in different social circles and knew of the Russell family but didn’t know them personally.

The mayor stops by Anna’s office to congratulate her on solving the case. She gloats to Sean that her job just might be safe for another 24 hours! Anna fusses to Sean how the O’Connor boys couldn’t identify his photo and it bothers her. She just isn’t sure that Russell was the murderer. Sean goes over the evidence with her and all roads lead back to Russell, he was in town when Neil was killed, he had Bobbie’s keys, he kidnapped Bobbie and his fingerprints are found on the threatening note that Bobbie received. Sean seems satisfied that the evidence supports Russell. Anna decides that if she uncovers the Laurelton secret that may be provide Russell’s motive that she is looking for.

Back at Anna’s, Robin has fallen asleep on the couch while Buzz and Sean are busy moving furniture around trying to help Anna get settled in. Buzz tells her that Teri and Kevin are getting married in Laurelton on Valentine’s Day. Anna finds it odd that Teri would want to go back to Laurelton and even stranger that she would get married on the anniversary of the day that Earl disappeared. Meanwhile, a gloved mystery person pulls a floorboard up at the brownstone and pulls out Neil’s wallet, and a note telling him where to find Earl’s body. A necklace is also removed and the mystery person hides it in an electrical junction box.

Anna decides to head back to Laurelton to try to get more answers. Jennifer and Ted head over to Sarah’s and urge her to keep the code of silence. They want to meet with Janet but Sarah tells them that Russell’s widow has refused. They insist on meeting with Janet, and she reams them for getting Russell killed. They remind her that she has stock in the company and she will be offered a job and she has to think of her future and her children. She blows up at them and Anna walks in as she is yelling at them. The widow returns to the room after she has calmed down. Anna apologizes to her and tells her that she did not intend on killing her husband. Anna begins asking questions but the room is quiet silent, Anna leaves when she realizes she won’t get any answers that night.

Jennifer tells Sarah and the sheriff that Teri and Kevin are getting married in Laurelton on Valentine’s Day. The sheriff is concerned about all of the Port Charles people coming to town, and Sarah agrees that could be very dangerous. Anna returns to Port Charles and Frisco tells her that he saw a wino with the necklace but he lost him. They head to see Benny the Fence and sure enough they find necklace with the medallion. Anna questions Benny and doesn’t fall for his act; she plays hardball with him and takes it as a compliment when he tells her she sounds just like Scorpio. He tells her a bum named Delancy pawned it. They take it back to the PCPD and it matches the broken links that were found on Moody’s neck. Anna believes this might be the break they are looking for.

Delancy is brought into GH and Anna arrives to question him. He tells them he found the medallion thrown in a trashcan outside of a brownstone next Sean’s warehouse. They later discover that initials were scratched off of Earl’s medallion. Anna attends Teri’s bridal shower and sneaks downstairs and finds metal shavings in the basement. Anna dreams of her past conversations with Kevin and wakes up and realizes she has caught him in a lie. Anna meets with Frisco and tells him that if she reopens this case that Mayor Morgan is not going to be happy and she could be risking her job and the life in Port Charles that Robin loves so much. He assures her it isn’t worth the risk given she doesn’t have much evidence and they should keep looking.

Anna is willing to risk everything on her hunch. She tells Frisco that she realized that Kevin had said he delivered water for Purity, which means he had to have known Russell. The lab report verifies the metal shavings is a match for the necklace that killed Earl. She lays it all out for the mayor who tells her not to reopen the case. She tells him she knows this will place her job on the line but has to pursue it immediately. She surmises that Kevin and Patrick O’Connor may have conspired to kill their uncle and their cousin in order to inherit his estate. Burt tells Anna that the gun found on Russell was registered to Jennifer Talbert. Anna can’t wait to question Jennifer and see how she tries to get out of this one!

#9B  Anna first questions Kevin about why he lied to her about not knowing Russell. He still claims he didn’t, that he delivered water for a couple of summers and never met Russell. Teri starts yelling at Anna and at Frisco for attacking Kevin and she thought Frisco was their friend.

Anna really surprises everyone when she asks Jennifer why Russell had possession of a gun registered to Jennifer? Patrick is shocked and a bit amused at the thought of Jennifer with a gun. She insists that Russell must have stolen the gun. Anna asks if anyone knows of a motive why Russell would have killed Earl and Neil then she can close the case immediately. They all remain silent.

Anna and Frisco meet with the mayor and Burt and she lays out the evidence again for the mayor. His advisors insist that he doesn’t allow her to reopen the case. Burt and Frisco both support Anna’s decision and feel there is enough evidence to reopen the case. The mayor grudgingly supports it but he warns her if anything goes wrong and a head has to roll, that it will be hers!

Anna and Frisco head back to Laurelton; they search the employment records of Purity and discover that someone else signed Kevin’s application as Russell was in the hospital the summer Kevin worked there. They continue to search the records and find a memo from Earl Moody to Russell requesting an accounting of a deficit in the company’s reported profits of $29,000. The letter was dated the day before Earl disappeared, this provides Russell’s motive for murdering Earl.

The sheriff finds Felicia hiding in Jennifer’s house and takes her down to his jail. Sarah tells Anna and Frisco and they run down to the jail and Anna vouches that Felicia has been working with her and they are just wrapping up the loose ends. He reluctantly released Felicia.

Anna, Felicia, and Frisco go out for dinner. Anna puzzles why the sheriff was tipped off and appeared at Jennifer’s so quickly and wonders what he was afraid she would find? Felicia says she found a well-hidden box with the Purity Water logo in the closet she was hiding in. Anna wonders what is in that box. She decides to distract the sheriff with more questions while Frisco sneaks back in and searches the box and finds another necklace with a medallion just like the one that killed Earl.

Back in Port Charles, the mayor reams Anna for reopening the case though Burt defends her actions. As Anna presents the additional evidence to the mayor, he grudgingly agrees not oppose her but warns her that her job is on the line if this blows up in her face.

Anna gathers all of the Laurelton people in her office and shows them the medallion and asks about it’s history. Ted tells her that all the members of the board and their families were given the medallion to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company. Anna asks where everyone’s medallion is, and most of them can’t remember. Anna reveals that the medallion with the initials scratched out will reveal who the killer is. She gestures to a covered piece of equipment that she says that provides new technology that will reveal what the initials were and those initials will determine who the killer is. Anna acts as though she full expects the initials to belong to Russell and then she will finally be able to close the case.

After they leave, Anna reveals a meat grinder as the mystery machine. She is setting the killer up to attempt to steal the medallion to prevent his or her identification. Anna has additional guards posted out of sight and wants to be notified if anyone tries to break into the property room. A distraction is created and the medallion is stolen and dropped down a manhole outside the PD. Anna is furious to learn that it has been stolen right out from under them.

She has her officers out in force searching the surrounding area. Frisco checks down the manhole and discovers something shiny and when he goes down to search he finds the medallion and a police officer’s uniform. He is shocked to discover it is his uniform! Anna and Frisco head to the Brownstone and ask Felicia what happened to his uniform? Felicia tells them that Patrick picked up the dry cleaning and hung it in the hall closet so they immediately suspect Patrick. Frisco is furious that Patrick stole his uniform and used it to commit a crime. Anna believes that it was either Patrick or Kevin as neither Ted nor Jennifer could have fit into Frisco’s uniform. Kevin comes down and says he was studying in his room and Jennifer is his alibi.

Anna and Frisco to GH to check on Patrick’s whereabouts during the theft. Anna runs into Sean and tells him that she needs his assistance. He comes to the PCPD to examine the medallion and he suggests that she contact the WSB as they have a piece of equipment that might actually help them detect the engraving.

Patrick storms into PCPD, furious that Anna has been checking up on him again. He is tired of being suspected every time something happens in PC and wants to know if there has been another murder? He is tired of being called down for questioning every time he turns around. Anna sternly tells him she will call him down anytime she pleases even if it’s about a parking ticket! Frisco says that his uniform was stolen and a practical joke was played at the police academy. Patrick calms down and relates his day’s activities.

After he leaves, Anna admits she needs another suspect, as she actually likes both Kevin and Patrick. She tells Frisco this one of the toughest aspects of police work, having to pursue people you like as suspects. Anna also suggests that it is still possible that Kevin and Patrick worked together on these murders.

Anna goes to Washington, D.C. to WSB headquarters to get assistance deciphering the initials on the medallion. Balentine tells her that it will take at least two days, as the chemicals have to be used in steps. Anna is worried about Teri’s upcoming wedding and wants to get the killer’s initials before the wedding.

Robin is sick and laying on the couch. Patrick shows up at Anna’s door, demanding to know why Anna went to Washington. He wants to know why she went? She refuses to give him any information and tells him it is police business. He yells at her and creates a scene in front of her sick child, grabbing her arm. He tells her that she is trying to ruin his brother’s wedding and this marriage needs all the help it can get. He accuses her of not caring about people and trying to ruin their lives. Buzz stops by to check on Robin, and pretty much throws Patrick out.

Buzz is very concerned about how ill Robin is and tells Anna that she can’t leave Robin and she needs to stay home with her and keep her quiet and give her medicine. Anna says that she may have to leave suddenly for her job and she has responsibilities. Buzz tells her she also has a responsibility to her child and a good mother would not leave such an ill child and that Anna needs to learn how to delegate her job responsibilities when her child needs her.

Buzz stops by again later on, bearing Chinese food, and apologizes to Anna for coming down on her so hard. He stresses that he didn’t mean to imply that she wasn’t a good mother. She says that he was right; she needed to hear that as she did have her priorities confused. Robin’s fever has broken and Anna humbly asks for permission to go to Washington D.C. in the morning. Philomena will be back and Ballantine called and said that he expects the lab result in the morning on one of the initials that has been raised (why don’t they just tell her over the phone?). She says that Teri is getting married tomorrow and she is worried that she might be marrying a murderer.

Anna calls Frisco and asks him to delay the wedding. In Laurelton, as the family and friends gather for pre-wedding preparations, Patrick teases that he has lost the ring, Frisco actually steals it as a delaying tactic. Anna has received the report indicates the last initial is an O or a Q. She calls and speaks to Jennifer and asks her to delay or postpone the wedding for Teri’s sake. Jennifer pretends they have a bad connection. Anna tells her she is on her way to Laurelton and asks her again to delay the wedding until Anna gets there and tells her this is in Teri’s best interest.

Jennifer calls the sheriff and tells him that Anna is on her way to stop the wedding. She then takes the phones off the hook so Anna can’t get through again. The sheriff talks to the taxi drivers and makes arrangements that they are going to be too busy to give her ride to the church. He then talks to a gentleman at the train station and asks him to give Anna bad directions to another church.

The wedding preparations continue as the bridesmaids all come downstairs to leave for the church. The bride comes outside and gets in the old model car for her ride to the church. Teri sees a motel and begins to have a flashback to that fateful mysterious night three years ago. She has Jake stop the car and she gets out and starts walking. In her flashback, she is walking down the street stark naked and sobbing as people on the street stare at her. In present day, Teri starts crying and singing as she walks down the street towards the church.

Anna has arrived in town, can’t find a ride, and runs through the streets trying to find the church. She is misdirected to the wrong church and is giving new directions about 10 blocks away and Anna takes off running again. Someone comes in the church and tells Jennifer that Teri is walking down the middle of the street, singing. This has significance for Jennifer and she sends for Kevin. Teri’s friends and family come out on the church steps, as Kevin runs towards Teri. He gives her his arm and he seems to have a calming influence over her though she does continue singing as she walks towards the church.

Bobbie watches her stepdaughter approach concerned over her strange behavior. Jennifer starts ordering people to their places as the wedding is going to start immediately. Bobbie pulls Jake aside and asks him what is going on? He tells her that Teri is working things on in her own way and to leave her alone. Teri sees an old tree across the street and her eyes glaze over as she spaces out again. Ted calls her back to reality. Jake asks her if she is sure before he leads her down the aisle and she beams as she says yes. These shots are interspersed with Anna still running down the streets of Laurelton trying to get to the wedding in time, creates a dramatic moment wondering what will happen next.

Teri faints on her way down the aisle, Jennifer once again starts organizing everything and urging Teri on towards her wedding (leaving the viewer wondering why she is so desperate to have her granddaughter marry Kevin?). Frisco tells Felicia if Anna doesn’t arrive soon that this wedding is taking place! Anna tries to flag down a police officer; she pounds on doors, all to no avail. She arrives at the church in time to see the wedding taking place and realizes she is too late.

Everyone gathers at the Talbert estate for the reception. Anna tells Frisco that one of the O’Connor brothers is the murderer. She tells him the WSB is still working on trying to raise the first initial. Frisco is really surprised and saddened to think it is either Patrick or Kevin. Anna crashes the reception and Patrick is furious to see her enter uninvited. He wants to confront her and Kevin urges him to leave it alone. He points out how happy Teri is and asks if Patrick wants to ruin that for her?

Jennifer, Ted, and the sheriff all gather in the foyer. The sheriff wants to know what she wants done with that Devane woman. Jennifer says there is nothing they can do without disrupting the reception. The sheriff is worried about finding the weak link especially with Anna back in Laurelton. Everyone gathers as Patrick makes a toast to the happy couple. Teri stops to talk to Anna and Anna observes how happy Teri looks. Jake pulls her away for a dance, Patrick confronts Anna and tells her she wasn’t invited and she isn’t welcome there. Anna tells him she is still working on the murder and that the murderer was in that church today! Patrick starts to raise his voice telling her to get out of their lives! Kevin comes over and breaks it up and pulls Patrick away.

Frisco fills Anna in on Teri’s odd behavior before the wedding. A note on a wedding is shown, and then the note telling Neil where Earl’s body was buried is shown and the handwriting is identical. We then hear Sarah’s voice reading the note indicating where the body is located and urging Neil to bring his uncle home.

Ted is giving some townsfolk instructions to be especially nice to Teri as the happier she is then the less danger she is to them. Anna and Frisco worry about Teri’s safety. Anna tells him though she realizes that without tangible proof that Anna would not have been able to stop the wedding. Frisco points out it could have been Kevin’s parents as they weren’t on the cruise when Earl was murdered. They worry about Teri’s safety on her honeymoon though Anna says he would be foolish to pull anything on their honeymoon.

Anna tells Jennifer about the letter O being found for the last name of the medallion. The sheriff shows Ted a note he found on his car saying, “Sarah weak link’. The sheriff heads over to Jennifer’s and tells her about the note. She determines they will confront Sarah after the Port Charles people have left. Frisco remembers that when Teri was walking up the street in a trance that she seemed headed towards the City Hall until Ted and Jennifer pulled her back towards the church.

At the airport as everyone is getting on the flight home, Anna listens in as Patrick’s mother tells him that there is a very special board meeting that night. Patrick makes his excuses at the latest minute that he will stay in town to catch up with his mother. Jennifer is thrilled when the sheriff reports that everyone else got on the plane.

Anna and Frisco get off the plane and she tells him about the meeting. Anna will stay in town as she is determined to find out what the secret is this town has been keeping all of these years. Frisco wants to stay with her but she asks him to go home, as she needs him to cover for her absence.

Kevin is fastening a necklace and he pulls it tight across her throat. She gasps and cries out, and cries out again and has to actually pull away to prevent being choked. He apologizes and says he was just trying to fasten it for her (interesting given this is how Earl was killed). Over at the meeting, Ted comments that he believes Teri is starting to get her memory back over what happened that night. They bicker amongst themselves over the cause of the trouble.

Finally they bring up the matter of the traitor and accuse Sarah. She gets up and says she won’t be questioned like a criminal. Jennifer offers to do the questioning and promises that she would not be biased against her. Patrick comes in and says he was listening at the door and wants to know who do they think they are by interrogating Sarah and what is the big secret? Patrick’s father pretty much says he is worthless, has no stock until the will is settled and has no right to be there. Anna overhears that the whole town is involved in covering up something Patrick had done three years ago.

Kevin wants to be intimate with Teri and as he touches her she shies away. She tells him that she has to tell him about the past before she can move forward and enjoy her honeymoon with him. She tells him that the night of the dance her and Patrick wound up in a motel room. She got real scared, she was on the bed with no clothes on and Patrick was on the bed on top of her, when she got him off of her, she ran out of the door without any clothes on. Kevin is furious and throws the champagne against the mirror.

Back to the interrogation, Sarah pleads innocence. The sheriff notices Anna spying from behind a curtain and he confronts her. She insists that this is a public place and she has every right to be there. The sheriff tells her he wants her out of Laurelton first thing in the morning or else! She doesn’t follow this ultimatum but instead heads over to see Sarah in the morning.

Anna questions Sarah about the secret? She denies any knowledge and Anna plays the heavy with threats of taking her to the PCPD jail to get some answers. Anna continues questioning what Sarah is the weak link about? When she gets nowhere with that line of questioning, she asks about what happened on Valentine’s Day three years ago? Anna wants the files on a secret board meeting three years ago.

Sarah is about to collapse under the pressure just as Ted and the sheriff tear in desperate to stop Anna from questioning Sarah. The sheriff continues to threaten her with jail and insists she leave town immediately and he will escort her to the airport. Ted smugly comments that Anna doesn’t have enough evidence to make any charges stick. Anna vows she will find out what this secret is and return with warrants! Anna returns to Port Charles and fills Frisco in on what she overheard.

Teri calls Jennifer and tells her that she is starting to remember what happened that night and she is hoping by the end of her honeymoon she will get her memory back and wouldn’t that be wonderful? Jennifer is so thrilled at the prospect that she falls off a ladder and sprains her ankle. Ted immediately calls Teri and tells her that her grandmother has had an accident and needs her. The Brownstone gang is shocked to see Teri and Kevin walk through the door. When Patrick comes in to greet them, Kevin decks him and full on fight breaks out between the brothers until Frisco and Jake come up and break it up.

Cute scene as Robin comes giggling in with Sean. They are off to see a horror movie and try to entice Anna to come with them. Anna says she is sorry that she can’t as she has so much work to do. Robin complains that all her mother does is work. Anna is concerned that Sean is taking the seven year old to see a horror movie. Sean says he saw it when he was ten and he turned out all right? Anna says that is debatable. Frisco calls and tells Anna about the fight. She believes the pressure is starting to get to them.

Teri tells a shocked Bobbie that a drunken Patrick tried to rape her that night three years ago. Teri realizes she never should have told Kevin, she cries to Bobbie that her and Kevin haven’t made love yet. Frisco is setting mousetraps and opens up a loose floorboard and finds the note about Earl’s body. Frisco takes the note into Anna and they realize they have a real breakthrough on who the “weak link” might be. Anna asks Frisco to get handwriting samples of the residents of the Brownstone though she is pretty sure someone still in Laurelton wrote it.

Anna makes two copies of the note and slips it under each brother’s door. She expects that the guilty brother will throw the note away but if one isn’t guilty they will bring the note forth to Anna to try to help solve the case. Anna waits for Kevin and Patrick to return home to find their notes. Burt calls and says the note was not written by any of the Brownstone residents. Felicia points out that Teri has handwritten notes that were on all of her wedding gifts and cards.

Patrick and Kevin each return home and both burn the notes. They are called back to GH and Anna searches their rooms and find ashes in both rooms. Frisco believes that one is the killer and the brother is covering for the killer. Anna believes that the fight yesterday could have even been staged when they are actually working together. Anna also suggests that they could also be protecting a third person.

Felicia goes through Teri’s wedding cards and matches Sarah’s card as the person who wrote the letter about the location of Earl’s body and gives it to Burt to have analyzed for an exact match. Anna goes to see Buzz and demands to know what he has uncovered about Teri’s past. She wants to listen to the tape of what Teri said under hypnosis but Buzz refuses under patient confidentiality. He is trying to protect Teri’s sanity and trust is very important.

Anna retorts that she is trying to protect Teri’s life from a killer. She points out that if the killer believes Teri knows something about the murders that she will be killed to cover up that knowledge. He tells her Teri is in the bathroom washing her face. When Buzz’s phone rings, Anna picks up the tape recorder and plays the tape and hears Teri talking about having a dead body falling on her. Teri overhears them talking and listens in, she had tried to get Buzz to let her listen to the tape earlier and he didn’t want her to listen to it yet knowing that the contents would upset her. Anna tells Buzz that if Teri is the killer that she has to be stopped.

Anna confronts Kevin and Patrick at GH and tells them that the letter they burned came from her and that if they had been innocent they would have turned the evidence into her. She says its obvious that they didn’t tell each other about receiving the letters and then she proposes that perhaps they are each acting to protect someone, perhaps Teri.

An almost hysterical Teri tells her grandmother that she is having terrible nightmares about that night. She tells her that she has been seeing Dr. Striker and he hypnotized her. Jennifer is quite upset about this especially when Teri tells her that she overheard Anna asking Buzz to listen to the tape. Jennifer demands that she stop looking into the past and focus on her future with her fine young husband. Teri is desperate to find out what happened in the past and coming rather unhinged.

Buzz stops by to talk to Anna about the tape and he is insistent that he will not release the tape to her, and she is not going to be able to get a court order for the tape of the confidential session. She is pretty sure she can find a judge to give the court order and he determines she will only get the tape over his dead body! Frisco, Felicia, and Robin go over to Buzz’s to hang a picture that Robin has created for Buzz. Teri has snuck into his place to steal the tape and hides in the bathroom from them. Anna then sends Frisco back to Laurelton to get information about Purity Water Company’s financial records as she suspects that irregularities in accounting that Earl intended on bringing up at the board meeting or did bring up resulted in his murder.
