Robin & Patrick #16 February 13 - June , 2012: 8 hour original edit

DVD #16A Patrick returned to Jason’s hospital bed and told him and Sam that Jason's condition was not improving, but was getting worse. Patrick said that the swelling had occurred since the last surgery. Jason got his back up and said that he did not want another surgery. Patrick concurred. Sam and Jason were shocked when Patrick announced that Jason's condition was inoperable.

2/14 At the Drake residence, Robin called to see if Jason's test results were back. They weren't, so she ended the call, and then entered the living room, where Patrick and Emma had left a trail of Hershey Kisses on the floor. Emma explained that the trail led to a surprise for Robin. Patrick added that it had been a one-of-a-kind special order, that he hadn't been certain would arrive in time. Intrigued, Robin took Emma's hand, and then followed the trail of chocolates to the front door. Emma urged her mother to open it, so Robin did.

Robin squealed with joy when she saw her mother, Anna Devane, standing on the doorstep. Robin and Anna hugged, as Anna explained that Patrick had managed to track Anna down. "Grandma," Emma called out to her grandmother. Anna invited her granddaughter to call her Anna, so Emma smiled brightly, and then said, "Grandma Anna." Anna realized that Emma was determined to call her "Grandma," so Anna let it drop.

Anna gave Emma a kite from Malaysia, which Emma promptly took to her room to show to "Butterscotch." Anna couldn't believe how much Emma had grown, and then recalled Robin and Patrick's wedding. Anna had realized then how much Robin and Patrick had loved each other. Anna sobered, as she confessed that she regretted not being in Port Charles sooner, to offer Robin love and support. Robin realized that Patrick had told Anna about Robin's viral loads.

Robin realized that it had been wrong to keep everyone locked out of what had been happening, but Anna refused to hold it against Robin, because Anna had kept her own secrets over the years. Robin's phone rang. Robin spoke to the person for a few seconds, ended the call, and then told Patrick that Jason's tests were back. Robin and Patrick grabbed their coats, as they explained that they needed to get to the hospital to review Jason's tests.

Anna readily agreed to watch Emma, because it would give Anna some quality time with her granddaughter. After Robin and Patrick left, Anna decided to take Emma out to fly the kite. After they returned, Anna chatted with Emma on the sofa, pointing out whose features and personality traits Emma had inherited from various family members.

Emma turned serious as she told Anna that Robin had been sick. Anna promised Emma that Robin was better, and that Robin was helping a friend at the hospital. According to Anna, Robin was a miracle worker. Emma smiled, and then asked if they could pray for Robin's friend.

At the hospital, Robin thanked Patrick for inviting Anna. However, Robin was curious if Patrick had mentioned anything about Lisa to Anna. Patrick confessed that he hadn't, because he had been afraid of Anna's reaction. Robin admitted that she would rather that Anna not know, because Robin wanted to focus on her future. Moments later, Robin and Patrick decided to talk to Jason about the test results.

Robin and Patrick entered Jason’s room. Sam prayed that Robin and Patrick knew what was going on with Jason, and how to "fix it." The doctors explained that Jason's condition was "delicate," which concerned Sam, because they had made it sound as if it were a death sentence. Robin promised that she was working on a drug therapy to help Jason, but Robin needed Jason to remain in the hospital, so that they could continue to monitor Jason's condition.

Jason wanted to make the most of the time that he had left, instead of staying in a hospital. "It's too soon to jump," Robin cryptically told Jason. Sam wondered what Robin was talking about. Robin explained that Jason had helped Robin through a difficult time, so Robin intended to return the favor. After Robin and Patrick left, Sam grabbed her coat with the intention of finding the package that Franco had left on the balcony.

Patrick entered Jason's hospital room. Patrick was a little surprised to see that Jason had stayed in the hospital. Jason explained that he wanted to know what he was facing, so he expected Patrick to be honest, if Robin's treatment didn't work. Patrick promised to be truthful, but he urged Jason to remain calm, because the dopamine levels aggravated Jason's situation; according to Patrick, Jason's anger towards Franco was killing Jason.

Robin spotted Carly as Carly exited the elevator, so she assured Carly that they were doing everything that they could "for him."

"For who?" Carly asked. Robin realized that Carly didn't know about Jason's situation, so Robin quickly filled Carly in. Carly wanted to know if Jason would be okay, so Robin admitted that she didn't know, but they were running out of time.

2/15 In the hospital's lab, Patrick assured Robin that Jason had not left the hospital. Robin feared that Jason sensed that his time was limited, so she was afraid that Jason might leave. Patrick and Robin discussed Jason's situation, and agreed that they would not give up. Robin explained that she would need Patrick to surgically implant the treatment, once she was able to find a cure for the brain swelling.

Patrick was confident that Robin would succeed. Robin then suggested that Patrick check on Anna and Emma, because Robin was afraid that Anna might inadvertently burn down their house while baking cookies for their daughter. Patrick refused to leave Robin's side until she had made some headway. Robin explained that she had narrowed it down to three viable possibilities.

Robin entered Jason’s room and asked to have a private word with Jason. After Sam and Carly left, Robin revealed that she had three leads but all of them would involve minor surgery. Jason was not pleased but he agreed to cooperate because he realized that he didn't have a choice. Robin and Jason reminisced about a time on the bridge when they had discussed their futures.

Robin insisted that Jason had too much to live for, so Jason told her about the baby. Robin was happy for Jason and Sam, so she assured him that she was confident that one of the three leads would work. Robin promised to return when she had good news, and then left.

In the lab, Robin was disappointed when her most promising lead failed to yield the results that she had hoped for. Patrick received a page, so he urged Robin to keep trying, and then left. Moments later, Carly stormed in, and then demanded to know how Robin intended to save Jason's life.

2/16 In the lab, Robin ordered Carly to leave, but Carly demanded to know how Robin intended to save Jason's life. According to Carly, Jason had too much to live for. Robin sarcastically pointed out that she wasn't in the lab, painting her nails, and then reminded Carly that Carly wasn't the only person who cared about Jason. Robin insisted that Carly was just getting in the way, but Carly refused to budge. Eventually, Robin threatened to call security on Carly but Patrick entered the lab before Robin picked up the phone.

Patrick wondered what was going on, so Robin explained that Carly thought that Robin should call someone else to help find a cure for Jason. Patrick explained to Carly that Robin was Jason's best chance. After Carly left, Robin vented about Carly's interruption; it had distracted Robin, and had planted seeds of doubt. Patrick encouraged Robin not to give up, but Robin feared that her best might not be enough. Patrick insisted that he believed in Robin, so he urged her to do the same.

Later, Matt entered the lab. He set a box down, and then explained that he was waiting for a patient to fly in from Dallas, who was a candidate for the cancer treatment that Matt had been working on. Matt hoped to figure out why the technique hadn't worked in some of the previous trials. Robin assured Matt that she would love to discuss it with him, but she needed to focus on her work.

Matt apologized, and then started to pull out some papers from the box. Robin glared at Matt, because the noise was distracting. Robin sighed in frustration, because she couldn't remember which chemical solution she had tested last. Matt wondered if she had made a note of it, so Robin explained that she had, but Matt's arrival had distracted her. Robin explained that she couldn't afford to make mistakes, because Jason was running out of time.

Matt promised to be quiet, but a phone call from his patient changed that. Matt became upset when he was informed that his patient's flight had been cancelled. Robin's temper flared when Matt accidentally knocked over one of the beakers of chemicals during his rant. Matt began to ramble about Maxie's antics, so Robin told him that she didn't want to hear it, because Jason's life was on the line. Matt immediately apologized, so Robin suggested that Matt go to the benefit gala, since his patient was stuck in Dallas.

After Matt left, Robin resumed working on a cure for Jason. However, her concentration was shattered when Maxie suddenly began to bang on the lab's locked door, demanding entrance. Robin reluctantly opened the door, and then explained that she didn't have time to deal with Maxie, but Maxie ignored her cousin. Robin explained that she was busy trying to save Jason's life, so Maxie accused Robin of making a big deal out of a few headaches.

Robin explained that Jason's condition was serious, because it might be fatal. Maxie insisted that Robin was exaggerating, because Robin cared about Jason. Robin decided to cut to the chase by asking why Maxie was there. Maxie revealed that Matt had broken things off with Maxie, and that it was Elizabeth's fault. Maxie proceeded to ramble about Matt, but Robin didn't see what any of it had to do with Elizabeth.

Maxie complained that Elizabeth was always pretending to be interested in Matt's work, so Robin suggested that perhaps Elizabeth was simply being nice, because Matt was socially awkward. Maxie accused Robin of always seeing the best in people, even though most people didn't deserve it. Maxie then began to babble about people doing bad things, without thinking them through. Robin realized that Maxie was referring to herself, so she asked what Maxie had done.

Jason clutched his head in pain. Sam immediately ran out of the room to fetch Patrick. Patrick examined Jason. Jason assured Patrick that it had just been a brief headache, and that it had passed, but Sam argued that Jason had been in significant pain. Patrick warned Jason and Sam that the frequency of the painful headaches would increase, as the swelling progressed. Patrick promised that Robin was working on a treatment, but Sam wanted to know how much time Jason had. Patrick admitted that he didn't know.

2/17 An agitate Maxie arrived at the lab to see Robin. Maxie reported that she'd told Monica that Elizabeth had stolen drugs from the hospital. Robin suggested that Maxie had sought her advice because she was feeling guilty. Maxie reasoned that Elizabeth deserved whatever was in store for her.

What Maxie really needed was for Robin to accompany her to Sonny's party at the Metro Court, Maxie said. She needed support in order to face Matt publicly. Robin tried to use her mother's visit as an excuse to keep from going, but Maxie played the pity card. "My mom's too busy to be bothered, so that leaves me with you," she cried.

As Maxie yanked up her purse to leave, the strap caught on a valve nozzle, which started the flow of gas. Monica stopped by for an update on Jason's treatment protocol. Robin explained that she'd ruled out the first two of the three she was testing and that she was waiting for the results of the third.

Anna arrived at the nurses' station with Emma. While Epiphany paged Patrick and Robin, Anna and Emma chatted. Epiphany reported that the doctors Drake were each tied up, so Anna took Emma for a hot dog while they waited.

Patrick arrived, and Epiphany razzed him about him never answering his pages. When she told him Anna and Emma had been waiting for him, he asked why Epiphany hadn't paged him. Patrick went to search for Robin, but Sam intercepted him. She asked whether Jason could leave, and Patrick explained that another seizure could be detrimental.

Robin caught up with her mother and daughter. They reminisced about some of Anna's kitchen disasters. Robin explained that she had to stay at the hospital while she waited for the lab results. Patrick arrived at the lab and was overcome by the fumes.

2/20 At General Hospital, Robin, Anna, and Emma played a game and talked, while, unknown to them, Patrick lay passed out in the lab where Robin had been working on Jason's protocol. Epiphany exchanged pleasantries with Emma. Robin inquired about Patrick. Epiphany told Robin that Patrick had gone to her lab.

After Robin left, Emma asked Anna questions about herself. Anna said that she had been chief of police just like Emma's Uncle Mac. Anna told Emma that law enforcement and medicine ran in their family, so Emma had a choice of careers when she grew up.

Emma told Anna that Robin had told her how brave Anna was. Anna said that Robin was braver than anyone Anna knew. Anna reflected on how fast time passed by. She said it seemed like "only yesterday" that Robin had been Emma's age. Anna said that as soon as Robin returned, she was going to tell Robin how much she loved her. Emma said she would do the same.

Robin found Patrick in the lab, passed out from the gas. She dragged him outside the door and gave him CPR. Patrick started breathing and regained consciousness. He told Robin that he had knocked over something in the lab. She ran to the door and saw that Jason's drug protocol was okay.

Patrick told Robin not to go in, but Robin rushed in to grab the vial. As she tried to exit, Robin knocked over a beaker and the lab door automatically locked before she could get out. Patrick started pounding on the door. Robin put Jason's protocol in the pass-through door and urged Patrick to take it and make sure that he administered it to Jason.

Smoke started filling the lab. Robin begged Patrick to leave before the emergency doors closed and he was also trapped. Patrick refused to leave her. Alarms started going off. Robin told Patrick that he had to take care of Emma. She told him that she loved him and Emma more than anything and that she would always love him.Robin demanded that Patrick leave her. Patrick continued to refuse, but finally went through the security doors to call for help. Before he could get back to Robin, the emergency doors locked, and the lab exploded.

2/21 At the nurses' station, Anna was alarmed when the building shuddered violently, but the hospital's staff appeared to dismiss it as minor, since none of the alarms had been triggered. Anna struck up a conversation with Spinelli when she spotted him standing nearby, by mentioning that Robin was working on a cure for Jason.

Later, Sam approached Anna to ask if Anna knew anything about the tremor that had shaken the hospital. Anna admitted that she was more concerned about Robin, because Robin had gone to the lab to look for Patrick, but she had not returned. Patrick pounded on the lab's locked doors, as Robin pleaded with Patrick to flee to safety. She assured him that he and Emma were in her heart, and then promised to always be with him. Patrick tearfully vowed to return with help, and then ran to the door.

Inside the lab, Robin collapsed as a drop of chemical hit the floor and then mixed with the fumes that had filled the lab. In the hallway, Patrick was thrown back as an explosion ripped through the lab. Patrick ran back to the lab, but smoke filled the room, so he was unable to see inside.

Patrick called 911 to report the blast, and to beg them to find a way to open the lab's sealed doors. The operator was unable to open the doors, so Patrick ripped an intravenous pole off of a wheelchair, and then tried to pry the doors open, but they remained firmly closed. Eventually, the fire department arrived. One of the firefighters had to hold Patrick back, while the rest of the firemen entered the lab.

Sam walked up, as Patrick pretended to cooperate long enough to break free, and then race to the lab. A firefighter blocked Patrick from entering the lab, and then explained that no one could have survived the fire. Patrick's eyes filled with tears of denial, so the fireman added, "She's gone," and then handed Robin's wedding ring to Patrick.

Patrick entered the lab, and then fell to his knees, sobbing with grief, as he saw Robin's body draped with a yellow tarp. Anna noticed the firefighters walking past the nurses' station as they talked about the investigating the fire in the lab. Seconds later, she saw Patrick round a corner. Anna wondered if he had seen Robin, but Patrick could only look at her with a grief-stricken expression. Anna realized that something terrible had happened, so she demanded to know, "Where's my daughter?"

2/22 At the nurses' station, Anna demanded to know what had happened to Robin. Patrick was too distraught to find the words to tell Anna about Robin's death, so Anna decided to go to the lab to get some answers. Patrick finally managed to show Robin's wedding and engagement rings to Anna, which the firefighters had recovered after the explosion. Patrick tearfully explained that no one could have survived the blast. Anna's eyes filled with tears, as she tried to deny what Patrick was telling her.

Patrick confessed that he had gone to the lab, smelled gas, and then had knocked something on the valve loose, before he had succumbed to the toxic fumes. He revealed that Robin had dragged him to safety, and then she had returned to the lab to fetch the drug protocol to save Jason's life, but the doors to the lab had closed, and then locked.

Patrick was furious that Robin had sacrificed her life for "that son of a bitch," and then tearfully apologized to Anna for not being able to save Robin. Anna decided that she needed to see her daughter for herself, but Patrick warned Anna not to go to the lab, because Robin had been burned beyond recognition. Tears of grief slid down Anna's cheeks as she realized that her daughter had perished in the explosion. Patrick admitted that it didn't seem real, and that he had no idea how to tell Emma that Robin had died.

Patrick decided that he needed to be with his daughter, so Anna offered to call Robert and Mac. Anna admitted that she hadn't talked to Robert in months, but she was certain that his superiors would be able to reach him. Patrick didn't think that Anna should have to make those calls, but Anna insisted that she needed something to focus on.

Anna stepped away, and then called Robert's handlers to inform them that she needed to reach Robert on an urgent matter. After she ended the call, Mac spotted her. Mac smiled brightly as he hugged Anna, unaware that she had devastating news for him.

At the nurses' station, Patrick put Robin's rings into his pocket, and then realized that he had the vial of medication that Robin had been working on for Jason. Sam rounded the corner, and then walked up to Patrick. She immediately saw the vial in Patrick's hand. Her face lit up with hope, as she asked if it were the medication to save Jason's life. Grief-stricken, Patrick glared at Sam.

2/23 Near the hospital's elevators, Anna informed Robert Scorpio's handlers that she needed to speak to Robert on an urgent matter. Mac spotted Anna as she ended the call. He warmly greeted Anna, and then hugged her. Mac immediately grew concerned when he noticed Anna's grim expression, and red-rimmed eyes. Anna pulled Mac into a conference room to tell him that Robin had died. Mac refused to believe it, as he argued that Robin's new medications were working. Anna gently explained that there had been an accident in the lab, and that Robin hadn't survived the explosion.

Mac stumbled backwards, as tears filled his eyes. "My Robin, my Robin," he cried. Mac insisted that he had loved his niece as if she had been his own child. Anna tearfully assured him that she believed him, and then admitted that she and Robert had been grateful for all that Mac had done for Robin. Mac wondered if his brother had been told, so Anna revealed that she had a call in to Robert. Mac realized that Maxie would need to be told about her cousin's death, so he decided to find Maxie. After Mac left, Anna closed the door, and then wept.

Meanwhile, Mac spotted Sonny near the nurses' station. Sonny realized that Mac was upset, so Mac coldly informed Sonny that Robin was dead. Sonny was taken aback by the news, so he asked Mac what had happened. Mac told Sonny about the explosion in the lab, and then wondered why Sonny appeared to be in shock when people died around Sonny all of the time. Michael sprang to his father's defense by reminding Mac that Sonny had nothing to do with the explosion. Mac angrily accused Sonny of causing Robin years of pain, and then insisted that her life would have been better if she had never met Sonny or Stone.

Sonny couldn't understand why Mac would say that, knowing that Robin had loved Stone with everything that she had. "And what did she get in return, Sonny?" Mac asked. Sonny argued that Stone wouldn't have hurt Robin, and that Stone hadn't realized that he had been HIV positive.

"What about you Sonny? What about all the people you love?" Mac asked, and then reminded Sonny that Michael and Dante had nearly died because of Sonny. Mac insisted that Robin had had a family who had loved her, but she had been in the lab getting medication to save Jason. According to Mac, Sonny and Jason were not worth saving.

Dante decided to take Mac home, so Dante asked Michael to keep their father from doing anything else to ruin the night, and then left with Mac. Sonny began to cry, as Michael hugged him. Sonny recalled promising Stone that he would take care of Robin.

Michael assured Sonny that Robin had been killed in a freak accident, so there was nothing that Sonny could have done to save Robin. Sonny vowed to keep his other loved ones safe, and then asked Michael to check on Jason. Michael was reluctant to leave Sonny alone, but Sonny insisted that he needed to wait for the discharge papers.

At the nurses' station, Sam spotted the vial in Patrick's hand, which had Jason's name printed on it. She wondered if it were the drug protocol that Robin had been working on to save Jason's life. "This is it," Patrick confirmed. Sam wondered if it would work, but Patrick told her that it didn't matter. "Robin died working on this, and there's no way in hell I'm going to let him have it," Patrick vowed. Sam was stunned. Sam realized that Patrick was going through a difficult time. Patrick bristled at her choice of words; he explained that difficult was losing a job or flunking out of medical school, not telling his daughter that her mother had died.

Sam tearfully reminded Patrick that the medication was Jason's only chance for survival, but Patrick was unmoved. He informed Sam that he didn't care about Jason, but Sam argued that Robin would want Patrick to save Jason. Sam realized that Patrick was hurting, but she reminded him that Jason was getting worse, and that Patrick was the only person who could save her husband.

Patrick argued that it was Jason's fault that Robin was dead, because she had run into the lab to fetch the vial of medicine. Sam was certain that Patrick didn't really see things like that, but Patrick assured her that he did. Patrick started to leave, but Sam grabbed his arm, and then pleaded with Patrick to reconsider.

She insisted that Robin would want him to save Jason, and then added that Robin would have risked her life for any other patient, not just Jason. Patrick resented Sam talking about Robin, as if Sam had known Robin well enough to know what Robin had thought. Sam immediately apologized, and then admitted that no child should have to grow up without a parent, like Emma would. "Including mine," Sam added.

"How dare you play that card?" Patrick growled. Sam was unapologetic, as she pointed out that her child would grow up without its father. Sam appreciated that Patrick might not want to do the surgery, so she begged him to give the medicine to another doctor to implant. Patrick informed Sam that only he could successfully perform the operation.

Patrick wondered why he should operate on a man who would continue to risk his life. Patrick reminded Sam that Jason hadn't bothered to change for Jake, or for her, so it was doubtful that Jason would change for Sam's baby. Sam insisted that Jason deserved to be a father, but Patrick didn't agree. Sam begged Patrick to change his mind, and then pleaded with him not to put her through the same kind of grief that he was going through. Sam implored Patrick not to take his pain out on Jason, because it wasn't what Robin would have wanted.

Patrick argued that Robin would have wanted to live, and to watch Emma grow up. Sam was curious how Patrick had gotten the medicine. Patrick was reluctant to answer, but Sam already knew the answer, because it was clear that Robin had given Patrick the vial before she had died. Sam insisted that it meant that Robin had wanted Jason to live, so Patrick needed to honor that. Patrick made it clear that he didn't have to do anything. Sam was shocked. "What did you just say?" she asked.

"No," Patrick replied. Sam warned Patrick that Jason would die if Patrick didn't operate. "Good," Patrick told her. Sam reminded Patrick that he was a doctor, so he couldn't just let someone die. Patrick pointed out that he had just lost his wife, but Sam argued that it didn't give Patrick the right to ruin Sam's life. She promised him that it wouldn't make him feel better, and then began to grovel.

Anna walked up, and then asked what was going on. Sam was confident that Patrick would do the right thing, because he was a good man. She offered Anna her condolences, and then left. Anna revealed that she hadn't been able to reach Robert, but she had told Mac. "You told him that Robin is dead?" Patrick coldly asked. "Don't say it like that," Anna replied. "It's true, isn't it? In my mind, so is Jason," Patrick said.

2/24 Anna tried to reason with Patrick, who blamed Jason for Robin's death. Patrick wouldn't save Jason's life, because Jason was a hit man; Patrick believed he'd actually be saving lives by letting Jason die. "Robin would never forgive you," Anna admonished. Patrick wondered how he would tell Emma that her mommy was dead. Anna left to call Robert. Patrick emerged from the elevator. His and Sam's eyes met, as he scowled in her direction. He agreed to do the procedure, to honor Robin's last act.

2/27 Mac arrived and wanted to speak to Maxie, but she was out. Spinelli offered to take a message, but Mac said it had to be delivered in person. Mac told Spinelli that Robin was dead. Spinelli tried to call Maxie, but she did not answer her phone.

Spinelli offered his sincere condolences and told Mac that Robin had been a wonderful doctor who had often put the needs of others above her own. He added that Maxie would be devastated and that she would need Mac.Mac said that Maxie would also need Spinelli. Mac remembered how much help and how kind Spinelli had been to Maxie when Georgie had been killed. Mac said that Maxie had fallen apart, and it had been Spinelli who had gotten Maxie through her ordeal.

Mac said Maxie would need Spinelli again because Spinelli was truly Maxie's friend. Mac got a phone call. It was police business, and he said that he had to go. Mac asked Spinelli to call as soon as Maxie got home. Spinelli feared that Maxie might hear about Robin from someone else before Mac could tell her. Mac thought about it and asked Spinelli to tell Maxie what had happened to Robin and to stay with her until Mac could get back. Spinelli agreed.

At GH, Patrick finally agreed to do the procedure on Jason. Sam was tearful and grateful. Patrick said he was only doing it for Robin. Sam asked Patrick not to tell Jason about Robin for fear that it would kill Jason. Patrick got angry and said that Robin was dead because of Jason. He questioned Sam's right to ask him to protect Jason's feelings.

In his room, Jason had a conversation with ghost Robin. When he said he was glad that Robin was there, Robin asked, "Where else would I be?" Jason told her that Sam had told him about the explosion. Robin said that she was not feeling any pain and that soon Jason would not be feeling any pain either. Monica, who was sitting by Jason's bed, woke him and said that Jason had been talking in his sleep.

Patrick strolled into Jason's room and said that he had something to tell Jason about Robin. When Jason inquired, Patrick said that Robin was gone. Sam jumped in and said that Robin had gone home because she had been working hard and was tired. Jason said that Robin was an amazing friend.

Patrick responded that he hoped Jason appreciated everything that Robin had given up for him. Jason said that he did. Patrick told Jason that if Jason really wanted to repay Robin, he should make his life worth saving. Patrick said that the procedure would begin in an hour and that a nurse would be in to prep Jason and then left abruptly.

As the nurse prepped Jason, Monica and Sam talked in the hall. Monica said that perhaps another surgeon should do the procedure. Sam said that Patrick had pulled Jason through before and would do it again. Monica acquiesced. Monica told Sam that Jason had been talking in his sleep. She said that all Jason seemed to want was to spend time with Sam and their baby. A nurse emerged from Jason's room and told Monica and Sam that Jason was ready. Monica told Sam to spend a little time with Jason before the surgery.

As Sam entered Jason's room, she heard him leaving a message for Robin. Jason thanked Robin for all that she had done for him and told her that he would see her on the other side. As Jason was being wheeled to OR, Jason told Sam that he loved her and Sam told Jason that she loved him. Sam thanked Patrick, who told Sam not to thank him yet.

Sam followed Jason. Patrick watched and touched his wedding ring. Robin appeared beside him and touched the hand that was touching the ring. Patrick said, "Please forgive me," and walked away. Robin's imaged faded from view as a nurse walked by the place where Robin had been standing.

2/28 At the apartment, Spinelli tried to get Maxie to sit down, so that he could break the news to her about Robin's tragic death, but Maxie was on a tangent about Matt. She assured Spinelli that she appreciated his friendship, but she was determined to make things work with Matt, so she wanted Spinelli to move out.

Spinelli continued to make an effort to get Maxie to sit down, but she continued to babble about her future with Matt. Once Maxie ran out of steam, Spinelli asked, "Are you finished?" Maxie explained that he would have time to move, but she needed him out by the following day. Spinelli admitted that he didn't have the right words to tell her what he needed to, so he simply revealed that Robin had been killed. Maxie looked at Spinelli for a long moment, and then asked him to repeat what he had said.

Spinelli started to tell Maxie about the accident in the lab, but Maxie angrily accused Spinelli of lying. Maxie insisted that Robin was her cousin, best friend, and like a sister, so it wasn't possible for Robin to die. Maxie couldn't believe that Spinelli would tell her such a horrible lie, so she ordered him to be gone by the time that she returned from her bedroom.

Later, Spinelli was waiting for Maxie when she entered the living room. He showed her the news footage about the explosion in the hospital's lab, but Maxie accused him of manufacturing the footage to give his lie merit. Spinelli insisted that Robin was gone, and then reached out to Maxie, as she dissolved into tears. Maxie was filled with regret, because she and Robin had argued about going to the benefit. Maxie was certain that Robin would have been alive if Robin had gone to Metro Court with Maxie. Maxie was inconsolable, as Spinelli held her.

In the operating room, Jason asked Patrick to thank Robin for all she had done, before succumbing to the anesthesia. Patrick looked up, to see Robin standing across the room, watching him. Patrick began to operate, but then hesitated. Robin asked him what he was doing, so Patrick admitted that he was reluctant to save Jason's life. Robin was confident that Patrick didn't want to let Jason die, but Patrick wondered why Jason should live when she hadn't.

Jason's vital signs plummeted. Robin urged Patrick not to tank the operation on purpose, but Patrick argued that no one would ever suspect that he had done it. Robin insisted that Patrick couldn't leave Jason a "vegetable," and that it wasn't Patrick's place to play God. Patrick cried that he didn't know what to do without her, so Robin reminded him to focus on being a father to their daughter, Emma. Robin begged Patrick not to abandon Emma, because she didn't deserve to lose both of her parents.

Robin claimed that Patrick was better than that, but Patrick confessed that hurting Jason was the only thing that he could do. Robin argued that Patrick wouldn't be the man that she had fallen in love with if he hurt Jason intentionally. Patrick focused on the operation. The operation appeared to go well, until Jason's vital signs once again dropped. Sam spotted Patrick exit the elevator. Patrick confirmed that the operation was over, so Sam asked him if Jason were okay.

2/29 In the waiting area, Sam confessed that she knew how difficult things had been for Patrick, but Patrick wasn't interested in what Sam had to say. He insisted that she had no way of understanding his grief, so he didn't want to hear her talk about it. Sam quickly apologized, but Patrick wasn't satisfied. He informed her that he was in hell alone, until he had to tell his daughter about Robin's death, and then Emma would join him.

Sam decided to change the subject by asking if Jason had survived the surgery. "I know you want me to say yes, but I can't," Patrick replied. Sam became alarmed, so she demanded to know what had happened. Patrick explained that he had done all that he could for Jason, so the surgery had been a success; however, they wouldn't know the results of the serum until Jason woke up.

Sam started to thank Patrick, but he made it clear that he had done it for Robin, not Sam and Jason. Patrick believed that it would have been a favor to society by allowing Jason to die on the operating table. However, Robin was the one in the morgue, while Jason was resting in recovery. "You happy?" Patrick wondered. Sam assured Patrick that she was devastated by Robin's death, because Robin had been an amazing woman.

Patrick confessed that he couldn't imagine talking about Robin in the past tense, especially when Jason was alive. Sam promised Patrick that Jason would always love Robin, and never forget what she had done for him. Patrick told Sam to go see Jason, so she left. Moments later, Patrick slid down the wall as tears filled his eyes.

Epiphany spotted Patrick, so he quickly got up, and then sat down in a chair. Epiphany took the seat next to him, and then advised him to not say or do anything; she just wanted him to listen. Epiphany knew that Patrick felt like his pain was mired in quicksand, but she promised him that he would eventually find his way out, for Emma's sake. Patrick didn't know how to do that, but Epiphany was certain that he would find the strength.

Epiphany insisted that Emma would need Patrick to crack jokes, play dress-up, and hold his daughter's hand, so keeping Emma going would help Patrick. Patrick doubted that he would be able to do that, but Epiphany assured Patrick that he was a good man, with a lot of good left to do. Epiphany started to walk away, so Patrick called out to thank her. Epiphany ordered him to do as she said, and then insisted that they would never speak of it again.

Robert Scorpio arrived at Robin's house. Anna greeted her ex-husband at the door, and then invited him in. Robert demanded to know what had been so important that she had insisted on seeing him while he had been on a mission. Anna quietly asked Robert to take a seat, but she didn't have an opportunity to tell him about Robin, because Emma entered the living room. "Grandpa," Emma happily greeted her grandfather.

Robert enjoyed a reunion with his granddaughter, and then presented her with a gift of two stuffed koala bears that he had bought for his "Princess Scorpio." Anna fought back tears, as Robert visited with Emma. Emma was curious where Robin was, because Emma wanted pancakes. Robert confessed that he loved pancakes. Anna assured Emma that Robin was at the hospital, and then sent her granddaughter to play in the bedroom. Robert realized that something was wrong, and that Anna didn't want Emma to know about it.

Anna revealed that Robin had been killed in a lab explosion. Robert refused to believe it, but Anna insisted that it was true, and that Patrick had witnessed the tragedy. Robert wondered where Patrick was, so Anna explained that Patrick was at the hospital, operating on a patient. Robert didn't hide his disdain, but Anna insisted that it had been an important surgery. Robert ignored the remark, as he tried to accept what Anna had told him about their daughter.

Robert argued that there had to be a mistake, and then decided that he needed to see Robin for himself. Anna urged Robert to reconsider, because there had been nothing left of their daughter to see. Robert was heartbroken at the realization of what Anna was telling him. However, he remained determined to see his daughter's body. Anna tried to stop Robert from leaving, but he brushed her off as he stormed out of the door.

3/1 Anna greeted Patrick as he arrived home and shared her concern that Robert might do something extreme. Patrick told Anna that she should go after Robert, but Anna wanted to stay to help Patrick break the news of Robin's death to Emma. Patrick and Anna reminisced about their lives with Robin.

Anna did leave to look for Robert. As Patrick prepared to tell Emma that her mommy had died, he asked Robin to give him guidance and strength. As he worried he wouldn't be able to handle the talk with his daughter, Elizabeth knocked on the door. Patrick welcomed her in and told her he'd thought it had been Robin at the door.

Liz offered her condolences. Patrick let her know that Robin's work had been successful and that Jason was going to be fine, and Elizabeth was thankful. She reminded Patrick that Robin, when she'd thought her AIDS protocol was failing, had asked Liz to look out for Patrick and Emma. Emma ran into the room. Patrick and Elizabeth began to explain to her that Robin had gone to heaven.

As Robert was about to enter the morgue, Mac stopped him. Robert became belligerent, and Mac tried to calm him down, but Robert sucker-punched him and went into the morgue and locked the door behind him. Once inside, Robert began to cry. Mac begged his brother not to look at Robin's corpse. Anna arrived, and Mac filled her in on the situation. She went to get security to open the door.

Inside, Robert was happy to find Robin standing there. She explained to him what had happened to her. She asked why he hadn't been there to save her. As he began to apologize, he looked up, and she was gone. Anna returned with the keys and opened the door, just as Robert bolted out. Mac went after his brother.

Anna went into the morgue and began to pull back the sheet covering Robin's body. Before she revealed her daughters face, Anna received a text message from Robert, which stated, "I'm sorry. I can't do this. I love you, Goodbye." She called him but got his voicemail, so she called Luke instead.

3/2 Luke went to see Anna at Kelly's. Anna let Luke know that Robin had been working in the lab to save Jason's life. She also explained how the explosion had happened. Luke urged her not to play the "what if" game. Anna worried that Robert was doing just that, and she was afraid he might do something rash.

Luke suggested that Robert needed time to digest what had happened, but Anna shared the text message she'd received from Robert. Luke had an idea where Robert might have gone and left to check out the hunch. As Robert stood at the edge of a bridge, Luke walked up. "I thought I might find you here," declared Luke, then asked, "Enjoying the view?"

3/5 Luke found a distraught Robert standing on the ledge of the bridge where Robin had gone to think about Stone. Luke asked Robert what was going on. Luke said that Anna had gotten Robert's message. Luke then inquired if Robert intended to take the easy way out. Robert said that his message had not been a cry for help, but he had thought that he should say goodbye. Robert asked how Luke had found him.

Luke said that the bridge was a special spot for Robin and that Luke had been there many times with Robin and Stone to bungee jump, although, Luke added, it was Stone who did the bungee jumping while Luke and Robin watched. Robert said that the bridge was also the place where Robin had scattered Stone's ashes and that he could envision her there grieving alone. Robert questioned himself and why he had not been on hand when Robin had needed him.

Robert said that he had made putting his life on the line to swoop in for a last minute rescue an art form, but questioned what it had gotten him when all he had to show for it was seeing his child die before he did. Robert despaired because he had not been able to save Robin. Luke agreed that there was nothing worse than losing a child. Robert said that Lucky had not died, even though Luke had thought so at one time.

Robert said that Lucky had returned, but Robin would not be back because he had seen her burnt body in the morgue, and he could not stop thinking about what she had suffered. Robert asked if Luke could live with something like that. Luke said that he could if he knew that people were depending on him. Robert said that Robin had needed him, and he had not been around.

Robert questioned the many times he had saved people who had not meant anything to him but had been unable to save Robin, even though Robin had saved Robert when she had nursed him through cancer. Robert said that he did not deserve Robin's love, that he did not deserve anything. When it appeared that Robert was about to jump, Luke leaped over the guardrail. Robert told Luke not to try to pull him back. Luke said he would not pull Robert back, but would jump with him.

When Robert said that Luke was being insane, Luke quipped, "Says the man on the ledge." Robert continued to grieve and said that he should have been there for Robin. Luke asked Robert when he had developed psychic powers. Robert said he should have protected Robin.

Luke pointed out that neither Patrick nor Robin would have appreciated it if Robert had hovered over them. Robert replied that Robin had not been a priority. Luke responded that Robert had never killed a four-year-old. Luke told Robert about Jake's death and how Luke was responsible. Robert said it had been an accident, but Luke said something inside him had broken, and he could not get rid of the image of Jake bleeding in the street.

Luke said that he, too, had wanted to end the pain in one fell swoop, but he soldiered on because people were depending on him. Luke said that he had gutted it out, and Robert could do the same. Robert said that Luke had other children and mentioned Lucky, Lulu, and Ethan. Robert said that he had had only one child. As Robert prepared to jump off the bridge, Luke blurted out that Ethan was Robert's child.

Anna arrived home and asked about Patrick. Elizabeth said that Patrick had not left Emma's side since telling her the sad news. Elizabeth said that she had delivered some food and asked if there was anything that she could do for Anna. Anna said that Elizabeth could help Anna plan Robin's funeral.

3/6 On the bridge, Robert continued to gaze down at the churning waters as Luke desperately tried to talk his friend out of jumping to his death. In a last-ditch effort, Luke revealed that Ethan was Robert's son, but Robert easily saw through the lie. Luke urged Robert to talk to Holly, to confirm the claim, so Robert argued that Holly was not to be trusted, because she always had an agenda. Luke insisted that Holly had produced a paternity test to prove that Robert was Ethan's father, but Robert wasn't swayed.

Luke reminded Robert that Robert had been married to Holly during the time of Ethan's conception, so Robert shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the possibility that Ethan was indeed Robert's son. Robert was curious why Ethan would even need to know the truth, when Ethan had Luke to lean on. "'Cause I can't save him; you can," Luke answered.

Luke explained that Helena had used her own daughter, Cassandra, to seduce Ethan, who had quickly fallen in love with Helena's daughter. Robert was shocked when Luke revealed that Helena had then murdered Cassandra before Ethan's eyes. According to Luke, Helena had then snatched Ethan, and disappeared. Luke insisted the Robert was the only person who would be able to hunt down Helena.

Robert sensed that Luke was lying, but Luke forged ahead, by playing on Robert's guilt. Luke wondered if Robert were truly prepared to plunge to his death, knowing that Robert would be failing Ethan the same way that Robert had failed Robin. Luke then asked if Robert really wanted to lose two children in one week. Robert cried that it hurt being a in a world without Robin, knowing that he couldn't save her. Luke argued that Robert could still save Ethan. Robert finally relented, so he climbed over the railing to safer ground.

Luke followed his friend. Robert wasn't pleased with Luke, but Luke insisted that he knew Robert well enough to be certain that Robert would never have wanted to turn his back on Ethan and send Ethan to an early grave.

At Crimson, Maxie flashed back to when she had picked up her purse in the lab, and inadvertently pulled off the hose to the gas valve. Maxie's knees began to buckle, but Matt was there to grab her before she hit the floor. Maxie began to weep, as Matt held her tightly. Maxie revealed that she'd had a terrible argument with Robin shortly before Robin's death, and that Maxie had angrily accused Robin of being selfish, before Maxie had stormed out. Matt reminded Maxie that she couldn't have known what would happen.

Maxie wanted to know what had caused the explosion. Matt explained that it was still under investigation, but the preliminary reports indicated that the blast had been the result of a gas leak. Maxie had another image of her purse knocking the hose on the gas valve loose. "I'm so sorry," Maxie sobbed. "Robin's death is all my fault. It's all my fault," she cried. Matt insisted that Maxie stop blaming herself, and then suggested that he take her home, so that she could rest.

Maxie angrily shook off Matt's hands, and then announced that she intended to stay at work. Matt tried to persuade her to change her mind, but Maxie coldly ordered Matt to leave. Matt hesitated, and then quietly broached the subject of Spinelli. He thought that it might help Maxie if she had Spinelli to lean on at home. Maxie informed Matt that Spinelli had already moved out, so it was too late. "Some things can't be undone. Not ever," Maxie said with her back to Matt.

3/7 At the Drake residence, Anna greeted Robert, and then wondered where he had been. Robert explained that he had gone to Blackstone Canyon, so Anna questioned him about the alarming text message that he had sent to her. Robert assured Anna that everything was fine, because he had seen a new light at the end of the tunnel.

Mac, who quietly watched the exchange, pointed out that all that mattered was that Robert was there. Robert shocked Anna and Mac by announcing that it was only temporary. Anna was stunned when Robert revealed that he was Ethan Lovett's father. Anna and Mac had doubts about the claim, but Robert assured them that it was true. Mac urged Robert to get a DNA test to confirm Holly's story, but Robert explained that there wasn't time, because Ethan needed to be rescued.

Anna reminded Robert that they had their daughter's funeral to plan, but Robert argued that time was of the essence; he was determined to save his son, because he hadn't been able to save his daughter. Robert then pointed out that Mac had been a bigger part of Robin's life than Robert had been, so Mac's presence at the funeral was more important.

Anna insisted that they needed to band together as a family for Robin's funeral, but Robert insisted that Ethan might not have time. Robert decided to go to Emma's bedroom to say goodbye. Anna started to follow Robert, but Mac pulled her back. Mac suggested that it was for the best, because it was clear that Ethan had given Robert a purpose, and a reason to keep living. A short time later, Robert returned to the living room, and told Anna that Emma had lost the koala bear that he had given to his granddaughter.

Anna assured Robert that she would look for it, so Robert revealed that he had promised Emma that he would return for a visit. Anna warned Robert that she would hold him to it. Anna then reminded Robert of the Christmas that they had spent with Robin, shortly after Emma's birth. Anna recalled that Robin had told each of them how much they had meant to her, including Robert. Robert agreed that it had been a magical night for all of them. Anna wanted Robert to hold onto that memory.

After Robert and Mac left, Anna searched for the koala bear. She spotted it tucked into the corner of the living room. She picked it up, clutched it closely, and then sat down in a chair, as the tears began to fall.

Mac arrived at Maxie’s. Mac thanked Lulu for calling him, as Maxie ran into his waiting arms. Maxie sobbed on Mac's shoulder, and repeatedly apologized, so Mac insisted that Maxie had nothing to be sorry for.

3/14 Mac banged on Maxie's apartment door, but Maxie didn't respond. Mac was certain that Maxie was inside the apartment, so he threatened to kick down the door if she didn't open it. Moments later, Lulu arrived. Lulu assured Mac that it wasn't necessary to resort to breaking the door, because she had a key. After Lulu opened the door, Mac was relieved to see Maxie sitting on the sofa. Maxie apologized for not answering the door; she explained that she'd had other things on her mind.

Mac assured Maxie that he understood, because he had become distracted with thoughts of Robin earlier that morning, while making coffee. Mac and Lulu were startled when Maxie announced that she intended to go to work, instead of to Robin's funeral. Mac promised Maxie that he and Lulu would be at Maxie's side to help her through the funeral, but Maxie refused to change her mind.

According to Maxie, she was needed at work. Mac warned Maxie that avoiding the funeral would not change anything; Robin would still be gone. Mac insisted that it was important for Maxie to have closure, but Maxie wasn't swayed. Maxie claimed that she wasn't interested in sharing her memories of Robin with everyone, and that everything that had made Robin who she was had disappeared when Robin had died in the lab.

Mac argued that Robin being in the lab showed what kind of selfless person Robin had been. Mac thought that they should celebrate Robin, but Maxie coldly pointed out that Emma would not be celebrating. Undeterred, Mac insisted that Robin would want them to help each other through the difficult days ahead. Maxie belligerently argued that Robin wouldn't want Maxie to lose her job. Lulu tried to reason with her friend, but Maxie remained determined to go to work, so she stomped off to her bedroom to change.

Mac feared that the loss of Robin had been too much for Maxie to bear, because Maxie had already lost so many important people in her life. Lulu explained to Mac that Maxie felt guilty, because Maxie had argued with Robin shortly before the explosion. Maxie overheard Mac insist that Robin's death had been a horrible accident, so Maxie had nothing to feel guilty about.

Moments later, Maxie returned to the living room, dressed for work. Mac warned Maxie that she would always regret not going to Robin's funeral, but Maxie disagreed. According to Maxie, she barely remembered Georgie's funeral. Maxie explained that Georgie's funeral had been one big painful blur, and that no one had made Maxie feel better, nor had the funeral provided Maxie with any closure. Maxie suggested that perhaps it was the way that Maxie was wired, so she didn't see the point in going to Robin's funeral.

Mac promised to help Maxie through it, but Maxie refused to change her mind. "Sorry, Dad," Maxie told him. Maxie was certain that, if Robin and Maxie's roles had been reversed, Robin would have gone to Maxie's funeral, but Maxie was the selfish one. After Maxie left, Lulu started to follow her friend, but Mac stopped her.

Luke entered the church in time to watch Anna light a candle for her daughter. Anna spotted Luke standing in the aisle, so she approached him. Anna explained that Robin had believed in God, and that Robin's faith had helped Robin throughout Robin's life. Anna's eyes filled with tears, as she confessed that she would like to believe in an afterlife, and that she could use some of her daughter's faith. Luke smiled sadly at Anna, so she wondered if he believed in God. "No, I'm not big on mythology," Luke replied.

However, Luke admitted that he believed that love gave meaning to a person's life. Anna doubted that she could go through with the funeral, so she started to leave. Luke stopped Anna by gently grabbing her arm. He was certain that Anna would find the strength to get through the service.

Luke then guided Anna to one of the back pews, where they sat down. Anna admitted that she didn't know whom she was more angry at: God, or whoever was responsible for taking Robin from them, or Robert for leaving town before Robin's funeral.

Luke assured Anna that Robert had loved Robin, but Anna reminded Luke that Robert had missed a large part of Robin's life. Anna then conceded that she had too. Anna wished that she could do it all over again, but Luke advised her not to go there. Anna confessed that she resented Robert for not being there, and for leaving her to say goodbye to Robin alone. Luke admitted that she should be mad at him, not Robert, because Luke had been responsible for Robert leaving town. Luke had a flashback of explaining to Ethan why Luke had lied to Robert about Ethan's paternity.

Anna was curious what had happened after Robert had left the morgue. Luke admitted that he'd had to give Robert a reason to go on, so he had told Robert that Ethan was Robert's son. Anna realized how difficult it had been for Luke to share that secret, because she knew that Luke had loved Ethan. Luke shrugged, and then explained that Robert had needed Ethan more. Luke was confident that Robert and Ethan would be good for each other.

Anna glanced at a picture of Robin. She confided that she was glad that she had been able to spend some time with her daughter before Robin's death. Luke was curious if Anna intended to stick around after the funeral, so Anna explained that she had to, because Patrick and Emma needed her. Anna wondered how long Luke planned to remain in Port Charles, so he admitted that he refused to make any promises, because he couldn't handle the disappointment when he failed to keep them.

Anna argued that Luke had shown up far more in his children's lives than he gave himself credit for. Anna assured Luke that Robert would step up to the plate with Robert's "brand new son." However, she had no idea how to get through the funeral. Luke suggested that she could lean on him. He then told her that she and Robert had done a fine job raising Robin. Anna bragged that Robin had embraced life, and always had her priorities straight.

Luke insisted that Robin had been lucky to have Anna for a mother. Anna smiled sadly, as she confessed that children profoundly changed one's life. Luke talked about Lucky and Lulu, prompting Anna to wonder if he had told Lulu about Ethan. Luke confessed that he hadn't. "Told me what?" Lulu asked from the doorway.

Patrick was sleeping in bed when Robin asked him to wake up. She wanted to go to the hospital to check on Jason, so Patrick assured her that the operation had been a success. Robin smiled as Patrick told her that they made a great team. "Don't you forget it," Robin replied. Robin started to kiss Patrick, but then he woke up. Patrick looked at Robin's side of the bed, and then cried when he realized that it was empty.

Later, Patrick was in the shower. He felt Robin caress him from behind, so he turned to look at her, but she wasn't there. Afterwards, Patrick sat on the bed as he tried to tie his necktie. Patrick thought of Robin, who suddenly appeared before him. He confessed that she looked beautiful, but Robin warned him that it was time to get going. Patrick admitted that he didn't want to go anywhere; he wanted to stay with Robin.

Robin smiled indulgently, and then reminded Patrick that Emma was waiting for him. Robin noticed that Patrick was having difficulty with his necktie, so she reached forward to tie it for him. Patrick began to cry as she adjusted his tie. Afterwards, Robin announced that she was done. "How's that?" she asked. "It's perfect," Patrick told her. Moments later, he opened his eyes, and then looked down to see that his necktie had been tied.

Elizabeth arrived at the Drake residence to see how everything was going. Matt revealed that Emma hadn't slept much. Seconds later, Emma ran out to greet Elizabeth. Elizabeth hugged the little girl, as Matt announced that they'd had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.

Emma confided that it had been her mother's favorite. Elizabeth admitted that Cam loved chocolate chip pancakes, too, and then changed the subject by confessing that she'd heard that Anna had bought Emma a beautiful dress. Elizabeth suggested that Emma put the dress on, but Emma admitted that she didn't want to say goodbye to Robin.

Elizabeth assured Emma that none of them wanted to, and then reminded Emma of the conversation that Patrick and Elizabeth had had with Emma about Robin being in heaven. Elizabeth explained that Robin had an important job to do in heaven, as a guardian angel that would watch over Emma.

Emma wondered if Robin would see Emma at her dance recital, so Matt and Elizabeth assured Emma that Robin would. Matt made Emma giggle by demonstrating a pirouette. Elizabeth gently explained that they needed to say goodbye to Robin, and wish her luck, before Robin could start her new job.

Emma smiled, and then dashed off to change clothes. Elizabeth praised Matt for making Emma smile, so Matt confessed that he wished that he could do the same for Patrick. Later, Elizabeth returned to the living room to announce that Emma was almost ready, but she had decided to let Emma play for a few more minutes, because it would be a long day for the little girl.

Later, Patrick entered the living room. Emma ran into her father's arms. Patrick hugged his daughter, and then Elizabeth took Emma to the bedroom to put on some shoes. Matt sat down on the sofa next to his brother, and then put his arm across Patrick's shoulders. Matt promised that they would get through the day together, but Patrick had no idea how he would manage it, because he saw Robin everywhere. Patrick feared that he wouldn't be able to help Emma, because he could barely keep it together.

3/15 At the nurses' station, Monica wondered why Epiphany wasn't at Robin's funeral. Epiphany explained that she had considered going, but then had realized that the best way to honor Robin was to take care of the patients. Monica confessed that she had felt the same way, and then admitted that she had also wanted to be close to Jason. Epiphany revealed that Jason was awake.

Monica smiled, because she had already heard the good news. Epiphany then confided that Carly had been trying to sneak into Jason's room, so Epiphany was determined to honor Sam's wishes to keep Carly away from Jason. Monica feared that Carly would just be more inclined to get to Jason; however, Monica agreed to do her part to keep Carly from succeeding. Epiphany and Monica were unaware that Carly lurked nearby, eavesdropping on their conversation.

A short time later, Carly smiled wickedly, as she approached an orderly in the hallway. Carly turned on the charm, as she flirted with the orderly to get him to let her into the supply closet. Afterwards, the orderly felt guilty, so he decided to alert Epiphany. Epiphany was livid.

Jason was determined to find Robin, so that he could thank her for saving his life. Sam blurted out that Jason couldn't see Robin, because Robin was gone. Jason was curious where Robin was, so Sam told him that she didn't know, but she was certain that Robin wasn't at home. Jason was frustrated, but Sam insisted that Jason wasn't strong enough to leave the hospital. Jason argued that he felt fine, but Sam refused to let him leave until a doctor had cleared him. Moments later, Alexis and Molly arrived to visit Jason and Sam.

Jason immediately asked to use Alexis' cell phone, so Alexis handed it to him. Jason called Robin, but reached her voicemail. He left a message, thanking Robin for everything that she had done, and then promised to get in touch with her as soon as possible. Jason handed the cell phone back to Alexis, and then announced that he intended to go home to fetch his phone. Sam turned to her mother for help, so Alexis advised Jason to wait until the doctors had a chance to examine him.

Jason wanted to see Patrick, but Sam explained that Patrick was not on duty. Jason was determined to find another doctor, so Sam offered to go to the nurses' station to see if one was available. Alexis followed Sam out of the room, leaving Molly behind to distract Jason with suggestions for baby names.

At the Drake residence, Elizabeth helped Emma put on a coat. Emma then showed her father a picture that Emma had drawn for Robin. Emma explained that she intended to give the drawing to Robin to take to heaven. Patrick assured Emma that it was a wonderful idea. Elizabeth and Matt headed to the church with Emma, so that Patrick could have a moment alone. After they left, Patrick looked around at his empty living room, until his eyes landed on his and Robin's wedding picture.

Patrick's eyes filled with tears as he gazed at the picture for a long moment. Afterwards, Patrick stood up, and shrugged on his jacket. Robin appeared before him as he turned towards the door. "You ready to go?" Patrick asked his beloved wife. Robin explained that he had to go without her.

Patrick worried that he wouldn't be able to do it, because he was nothing without Robin. Robin promised that she loved Patrick, and always would. She was confident that Patrick was strong enough to get through the day. After Robin's apparition disappeared, Patrick braced himself and then opened the door.

At the church, Mac told Anna that Maxie had decided not to attend the funeral. Anna thought perhaps Robert and Maxie were onto something, and then suggested that they all run away. Mac insisted that Anna needed to say goodbye to Robin, but Anna feared that she'd start screaming and not be able to stop.

Mac promised that they'd get through the funeral together, for Robin's sake. Anna thanked Mac for raising Robin, and all that he had done for her daughter. Mac expressed his own gratitude to Anna and Robert for allowing him to be a part of Robin's life. Anna tearfully confessed that she had no idea where the time had gone, because it had seemed like Robin had been a little girl "just yesterday."

At Crimson, Maxie sat at her desk, but couldn't concentrate when a picture of her and Robin snagged her attention. Maxie picked up the picture, as tears flooded her eyes. Maxie's grief turned to anger, as she recalled storming out of the lab and breaking the gas valve. Maxie swept everything off of her desk in a burst of rage, which was quickly followed by an outburst of tears.

At the church, Emma approached her grandmother to show Anna the picture that Emma had drawn for Robin. Anna was moved to tears, so Mac gently took Emma by the hand, so that Emma could place the drawing by a photograph of Robin. Anna asked Elizabeth where Patrick was. Elizabeth explained that Patrick had needed a moment alone at the house, so Matt, Elizabeth, and Emma had left. Anna wondered if Patrick intended to show up, so Elizabeth assured Anna that Patrick would be there.

Later, Anna wondered if perhaps the casket might frighten Emma. Mac doubted that Emma understood anything that was going on. Anna realized that it was for the best that they weren't going to a gravesite, because it would be too much for the little girl. Mac revealed that Elizabeth had arranged for a commemorative break at the hospital, so that everyone could attend a ceremony on the hospital's rooftop to honor Robin. Anna offered him a watery smile, and then wondered when the casket would be taken away for cremation. Mac quickly reminded Anna that only Robin's shell was in the casket; Robin's spirit was with them.

Luke checked on Anna, while Mac talked to Father Coates. Anna admitted that she was trying to stay strong for Emma. Luke warned Anna that the days and weeks ahead would be tough, and then wondered where Patrick was. Anna explained that Patrick had needed some time to pull himself together, so that he could find the strength to say goodbye to Robin. Anna and Luke then looked at the screen at the front of the church to watch the slideshow of the snapshots that Elizabeth had complied of Robin's life.

Moments later, Patrick arrived. Emma ran into her father's arms, and then told him that she had given her mother the drawing. Elizabeth stood behind Emma, and then explained that she had decided to take Emma outside to stretch their legs before the services started. Patrick agreed that it was a good idea.

Sonny approached Patrick to offer his condolences to Robin's husband. Patrick angrily informed Sonny that Sonny didn't have a right to be there, any more than "that murdering bastard, Jason." Sonny reminded Patrick that Robin had been special to Sonny, but Patrick argued that Sonny had fired a gun in Robin's home, while Emma had been in the next room. Sonny assured Patrick that he would always regret the incident, but it was meaningless to Patrick.

Patrick insisted that the only person who had less of a right to be at the funeral was Jason. Kate quickly defended Sonny by reminding Patrick that Robin had loved Sonny. Patrick argued that Sonny had only invited misery into Robin's life, and that Robin would be alive if it hadn't been for Jason. Sonny explained that he was simply there to pay his respects to Robin. Matt quickly ushered his brother away, before the argument escalated. Kate assured Sonny that it had just been Patrick's grief talking, but Sonny conceded that Patrick had a right to be angry. Sonny then walked over to Anna to tell her how sorry he was for her loss.

Anna admitted that she had heard that Sonny had been very kind to Robin. Sonny confessed that Robin had been far kinder to him than he had deserved. Anna agreed. After Sonny walked away, Luke approached Sonny. Luke revealed that he had heard that Sonny was a suspect in the death of a child. Sonny suggested that they focus on Robin, so Luke let the subject drop.

Moments later, the service began. Father Coates talked about the impact that Robin had had on everyone's life.

Dvd #16B Carly smiled wickedly, as she approached an orderly in the hallway. Carly turned on the charm, as she flirted with the orderly to get him to let her into the supply closet. Afterwards, the orderly felt guilty, so he decided to alert Epiphany. Epiphany was livid.

A short time later, Spinelli entered the Crimson office. Spinelli noticed the mess on the floor, so he wondered what had happened. Maxie's anger, and tears, confirmed that she was in a bad place. Maxie explained that she regretted a lot of things, but there had been one thing that she couldn't fix, so she'd rather be left alone.

According to Maxie, she didn't deserve to be comforted, but Spinelli disagreed. Spinelli realized that something else was troubling Maxie, but Maxie refused to tell him why she was racked with guilt. Instead, Maxie insisted that she was determined to get on with her life, and then ordered Spinelli to leave.

Spinelli wouldn't budge, because he thought that Maxie's pain might be eased if she were with Robin's loved ones. Maxie argued that there was nothing comforting about going to the funeral of someone who had died too young, and that she couldn't celebrate Robin's death. Spinelli suggested that she celebrate the life that Robin had lived. Spinelli was certain that Robin would have wanted Maxie at the funeral, but Maxie vehemently disagreed, because Spinelli hadn't been in the lab when Maxie and Robin had argued. Spinelli insisted that it wasn't right for someone who had loved Robin as much as Maxie had to be absent from the funeral.

As his wife's service began, Patrick avoided looking at the casket, his eyes filled with profound grief, as Father Coates invited the mourners to pay tribute to Robin. Mac was the first to give a eulogy. Mac talked about how much he had loved his niece. Memories of promising to love and support Robin, when she had been a little girl, flashed across his mind's eye as he spoke.

Mac admitted that he and Robin had taken care of each other, and then he began to talk about Stone. Mac confided that he had seen Robin's tremendous capacity for love and hope while she had stood by Stone's side after Stone's diagnosis of AIDS. Mac recalled that Robin had matured and become an adult that year.

Mac had been awed by Robin's courage when she had been diagnosed with HIV prior to Stone's death. According to Mac, Robin had faced her illness with strength and dignity. Mac then addressed Emma, reminding the little girl that they were family, and that there was nothing that they couldn't get through with each other at their side.

After Mac kissed Emma, Elizabeth walked to the podium to give her eulogy. Elizabeth commended Robin for being a great mother, but she acknowledged that her friend could be stubborn. Elizabeth reminded everyone that Robin had fought hard for those she had loved. Elizabeth then confided that Robin had once asked Elizabeth to step in for Robin, if Robin should die, but Robin was irreplaceable.

Sonny gave the next eulogy. Sonny explained that Robin had always had an open door policy with her heart. Sonny revealed that Robin had made her own judgments about people, instead of relying on the opinion of others. He admitted that there had been something special about Robin; she'd had a light inside of her that had shone through.

Sonny confessed that, like Mac, he had been a witness to the love that Robin had for Stone, and that he had watched her stand by Stone's side as Stone died of AIDS. Sonny revealed that Robin hadn't liked him at first, because she had thought that Sonny had been a terrible influence on Stone. However, Sonny and Robin had forged a strong friendship, borne of love and respect, as they had watched Stone succumb to AIDS.

3/16 Carly, dressed as a janitor, slipped into Jason's room. He asked her why she'd felt the need to go undercover. Carly explained that Sam had banned her, but Jason asked Carly to go easy on Sam. He also sensed that Carly was keeping something from him. They argued about Sam having banned Carly, but Carly said that she had to tell Jason something important. Sam had been lying to Jason for days, she announced. Carly began to cry as she told Jason that Robin had died.

Spinelli tried his best to persuade Maxie to attend Robin's funeral, but she'd have none of it. She refused to go and asked Spinelli to leave. After he exited, Maxie wept as she looked at a photo of her cousin.

Sonny eulogized Robin. He talked about how brave she'd been, how strong she was even as she faced her HIV diagnosis. He expressed his regret that he'd damaged the friendship he and Robin had shared.

Anna went next and shared some of her memories. She, too, expressed her regrets that she hadn't been there for so much of Robin's childhood. Anna also thanked everyone in Robin's life who had been supportive. Anna was especially happy that her daughter had found Patrick and that they'd had a beautiful daughter.

Anna began to apologize for Robert's absence, but the pastor announced that Robert had sent a letter, to be recited by Luke. Luke took to the pulpit and read Robert's words aloud. Robert had apologized for missing the service but explained that he'd been called away on an important mission by someone he trusted more than anyone else in the world. He'd been referring to Luke. Robert said that Robin had been handicapped, because she'd had him for a father. She'd grown up to be such an incredible person, he asserted, because of Anna's influence. He'd written that he was thankful for Robin's great capacity to forgive.

Patrick spoke next. He acknowledged that he wouldn't be able to say anything others hadn't already conveyed or had known all along. He said Robin had changed his life and had shown him what was truly important. Patrick began to break down, so Matt helped his brother back to the pews.

As the pastor began the service, Maxie rushed in, still wearing the bright, red dress she'd worn to work. Lulu and Matt tried to keep Maxie from saying anything she'd later regret. Maxie announced that she hated herself for what she'd done to Robin and that everyone else would hate her, too, once she explained.

Maxie blamed herself. She said she was a selfish person, whereas Robin was the most selfless person she knew. Maxie had accused Robin of not being supportive the night of the explosion. Spinelli stood up and tried to convince Maxie that she was being too hard on herself. "Robin knew the best of you, Maxie," he said. "That's what she treasured about you," he added. "I killed Robin!" Maxie cried.

3/19 At the memorial service for Robin, Maxie, dressed in a bright red dress, broke down and confessed that she was responsible for Robin's death. She shouted that she had been selfish and only cared about herself. Maxie said that she had been responsible for the broken handle on the gas jet. Spinelli, Matt, and Mac all tried to stop her. Each said that the explosion had been an accident and no one was to blame, but Maxie was not comforted. Maxie told the crowd that if she were a better person, Robin would still be alive. Elizabeth took Emma out of the sanctuary.

Maxie kept apologizing. Spinelli told her that taking the blame would not change anything. Maxie told Mac to arrest her, but Mac said that Maxie was not guilty of anything. Maxie started hyperventilating. Mac picked her up and said that he was taking her to General Hospital. Matt and Spinelli went with him.

Lulu went to Patrick and told him that Emma was all right and outside with Elizabeth. Patrick was shocked by the turn of events and said that he had wanted the day to be about Robin. Lulu said that it had been, and to look at all the people who had been there to honor Robin, even though a lot of them could not stand each other. Luke told the minister that it was time to wrap up the service.

At GH, Carly told Jason that Robin had perished in the lab explosion. Jason said that he had heard the explosion, but his head had started hurting, and Sam had told him that Robin was okay and that when Patrick had treated him, Patrick had merely said that Robin was gone. Jason wanted to know why he had not been told about Robin. Carly said it was because Sam would not let her tell. Jason wondered why Patrick had done the procedure on him. Carly said that Patrick had done it for Robin because Robin had gone back into the lab to get the medicine for Jason.

Carly said that Robin had gone back for the drug because she was a doctor, and that meant something to her. Carly said that Jason was Robin's friend and that meant even more to Robin. Carly told Jason not to blame himself. She said that Robin was Jason's friend, and he needed to find a way to honor that. Jason lamented that he had not had a chance to say goodbye. When he asked about the funeral, Carly told him that the service was being held that day. Jason left the hospital.

Mac, Spinelli, and Matt arrived at GH with Maxie, who continued to blame herself for Robin's death. Spinelli told her to stop blaming herself. Maxie told Mac to arrest her, but Mac insisted that it had been an accident with no intent to harm. Maxie replied that it had not been an accident when she had killed Lisa Niles. Spinelli said that Maxie did not know what she was saying. Maxie cried out that her name was Maxie Jones and that she was a murderer and deserved to be punished. She asked why Mac was standing there. She demanded that he arrest her. When Mac did not take action, Maxie said that her body count stood at three and that Mac must arrest her before she killed again.

Jason arrived at the church after the funeral was over and everyone was gone. He found a printed handout about Robin on the floor. Sam followed him in, and he confronted her about lying to him. Jason asked why Sam had not told him. Sam said that she had been waiting for the right time. Jason asked why she hadn't chosen all the times he had asked to see Robin or after the explosion when Sam had known that Robin was dead. Jason wanted to know why Sam had kept lying to him. Sam said that Jason had been dying, and she had been told to keep him calm.

Sam told Jason that if he had died, also, then Robin's death would have been for nothing. Sam said that she wanted to make sure that Robin's sacrifice had been worth it. Jason said that it was not. Sam responded that Robin had wanted Jason to be a father and to be part of his child's life. Jason said that Robin had people to live for as well. Sam said that she had been scared and afraid of losing Jason and that she did not want their baby to grow up without knowing Jason's love. Sam said that she had made the only choice she could.

Jason told Sam that it had not been her choice to make. Sam asked if he was angry because she had lied. Jason said that he was angry because she had kept lying and that she had caused Monica, Molly, Alexis, and the hospital staff to lie to him as well. Jason said that Carly was the only one who had told him the truth because he needed to know the truth. Sam said that was because Carly did not care if Jason died; she only cared to make the point that Carly knew Jason better that Sam. Jason angrily responded that maybe Carly did know him better.

Back at GH, the rooftop memorial for Robin concluded. Elizabeth showed Emma the plaque that would be placed in the courtyard to honor Robin. When Patrick and Emma were left alone, Patrick helped Emma make a paper airplane out of one of Emma's drawings and sail if off the roof in a final goodbye gesture for Robin. Elizabeth took Emma away as Anna returned to have words with Patrick.

Anna wanted to know what Maxie had meant when she had mentioned Lisa Niles and Patrick's infidelity in her rant. Anna said that she understood that marriage was hard and she did not want to overstep, but she had to know what had happened. Patrick said that he had cheated on Robin and that he was sorry that Anna had had to find out the way she did. He said that it had only been one night and that he had regretted it more than anything. Anna asked if Patrick had loved Lisa. He said that Lisa had been an old girlfriend. Anna remembered Robin mentioning Lisa.

Anna said that Robin had not been concerned because Robin had trusted Patrick. Anna told Patrick that he did not deserve Robin's forgiveness and certainly not her love. Patrick said that things had been complicated between him and Robin at that time. He said that he and Robin had been fighting and that she had gone to Africa. Anna responded sarcastically that how dare Robin go away to fight AIDS and work on humanitarian causes. Anna asked if all the attention from Lisa had made Patrick long for the good old days when he was a carefree bachelor.

Anna asked if Patrick had hooked up with Lisa as a way to get back at Robin. Anna said that Robin had to have been devastated. Patrick said that being with Lisa had been the biggest mistake of his life. He said that he had been wrong and that he had no excuses. Anna said that she wanted Patrick to be the right man for Robin, but that he had broken Robin's heart. Anna said that if Patrick loved Emma the way he claimed, he would not have risked his family.

Patrick responded that Emma was his number one priority and his only purpose was to keep her safe. Anna told Patrick that it was easy for him to make promises, but she wondered how good he would be at the follow-through. Patrick said that he and Robin had worked through their issues and that he had tried to protect his family when Lisa had stalked Robin, kidnapped Emma, and held Robin and Patrick at gunpoint.

Anna wondered why Robin had not gone to her in London with Emma in tow. Patrick said that Robin's home was in Port Charles and that Robin would never take Emma away from him. Anna said that she did not have the same reservations. Patrick told Anna that Lisa was gone and to not even think about taking Emma from him.

3/20 Maxie remained distraught, while she insisted that she had killed Lisa Niles and Robin. None of the men believed her, but Maxie argued that they didn't know her as well as they thought. Maxie grew frustrated, because Mac refused to arrest her, so she demanded to know what Mac would need in order to take her into custody. Mac explained that he would require evidence. Maxie explained that she had killed Lisa for Robin as Robin was too decent of a person to kill Lisa herself.

On the hospital's rooftop, Patrick warned Anna that Robin would not want them to be at odds. Anna was offended that Patrick had dared to mention Robin's name. Patrick assured Anna that he deeply regretted being unfaithful to Robin. Anna was curious if Patrick continued to hurt over the infidelity. "It kills me," Patrick confessed. "Good," Anna replied.

Anna started to walk away, but Patrick called out to her. He admitted that he had expected Robin to leave him after she had learned of the affair, but Robin had stayed. Patrick explained that Robin had ultimately forgiven him, for which Patrick would always be grateful. Anna tearfully acknowledged that her daughter had been good at forgiving people, including Anna. Patrick suggested that Robin had learned that from Anna, but Anna refused to forgive Patrick for breaking Robin's heart. Anna couldn't fathom how Patrick had managed to forgive himself.

A short time later, Patrick arrived home. His eyes filled with tears as he looked around his quiet home and then pulled out the funeral program with Robin's picture on it. Patrick recalled Anna's angry words, as she had ranted at him for being unfaithful to Robin. Moments later, someone knocked on the door. Patrick was stunned to see Noah standing on his doorstep. "Hello, son," Noah said, and then asked if Patrick intended to invite him in.

Patrick opened the door wider, so Noah entered. Patrick confessed that he hadn't expected to see his father, but Noah made it clear that he wouldn't be anywhere else. Noah hugged Patrick, and then Patrick broke away to fetch some coffee. A short time later, Patrick wondered where Noah had been. Noah explained that he had been working for Doctors without Borders in the Sudan and Somalia. Noah admitted that he had missed the funeral, because it had taken time for Matt's message to reach him.

Patrick suggested that it had been for the best, because the funeral had been a fiasco. Patrick told Noah about Maxie's confession, which Patrick hadn't been able to wrap his head around. Noah was curious if Robin's parents had made it to the funeral, so Patrick admitted that Anna was in town. Noah wondered how Anna was doing, so Patrick revealed that she was grieving, and furious at him for cheating on Robin.

At Jake's, Anna knocked back shots of tequila. Coleman took the opportunity to offer his condolences, and to tell her that Robin had been special. Moments later, Luke entered the bar. Anna was curious how Luke had found her, so he admitted that he hadn't been looking for her. According to Luke, he was periodically drawn to bars. Anna offered to buy Luke a drink, but he declined. Anna was surprised, so Luke admitted that he drank occasionally, but not that evening.

Anna hoped that Luke didn't mind if she drank alone. Luke assured her that she would not be alone, so Anna once again offered to buy him a drink. Luke explained that he wanted to be sober when she was ready to tell him why she was on a "bender." Anna explained that she had just destroyed her son-in-law. Anna then wondered what Luke knew about Lisa Niles. Luke confessed that he didn't know much about the "whack job" who had stalked Patrick. Anna revealed that she had confronted Patrick about the affair.

Luke reminded Anna that Robin had loved Patrick, but Anna was upset, because she had thought that Patrick had made Robin happy when the opposite was true. Luke was curious what Anna had done to Patrick, so Anna confessed that she had eviscerated him. Luke wondered if it had made Anna feel better. "No," Anna quietly admitted. Luke suggested that perhaps Anna was upset with Robin, not just Patrick.

At the church, Jason was curious if the doctors had advised Sam to continue to lie to him about Robin after the surgery. Sam reminded Jason that Patrick had warned them that it was best for Jason to stay calm, but Jason pointed out that it wasn't what he had asked her. Sam confessed that the initial results had indicated that Jason was improving, but she was reluctant to risk his health by telling Jason that Robin had died.

Sam tearfully explained that Jason had been close to death prior to the surgery, and that Robin had already been gone, so Sam had refused to take a chance with Jason's life after the surgery, because she had known that he would try to go to the funeral. Jason was stunned that Sam had kept quiet to keep him from attending Robin's funeral.

Sam reminded Jason that he had only woken up from the life-saving brain surgery earlier that morning. She insisted that he shouldn't have left the hospital, because he still had to undergo tests to make certain that everything was okay. Jason refused to return to the hospital, so he insisted that she drop it.

Sam suggested that they go home, but Jason made it clear that he didn't want to do that either. He insisted that lying to him for his own safety didn't make things okay, and then announced that he was going somewhere to say goodbye to Robin. He warned Sam not to follow him, and then left.

Jason stood on the bridge, as he confessed to Robin that he had never seen the point of wishing for things, because he believed that whatever happened, happened. However, he wished that he didn't have to say goodbye to her. Moments later, Jason heard footsteps. He looked up in time to see Elizabeth approaching.

Elizabeth was surprised to see Jason out of the hospital. Jason explained that he had tried to make it to Robin's funeral, but he had been too late. Elizabeth realized that he was there to say goodbye to Robin. He wondered if she thought that Emma would remember Robin. Elizabeth assured Jason that they would make sure to talk about Robin, and show her pictures, to remind Emma of Robin.

Jason argued that it wouldn't be the same, because Emma would never know how smart Robin had been, how little things had made Robin smile, and how hard Robin had tried to do the right thing. "And now I've lost her. I've lost her forever," Jason tearfully added. Jason confessed that Robin had said goodbye to him on the bridge before she had gone to Paris for the first time.

Elizabeth sensed that Jason was very upset, so she offered to leave and to call Sam. Jason was curious if Sam had asked Elizabeth not to tell him about Robin. Elizabeth explained that Sam hadn't wanted anyone to tell Jason about Robin's death, because Sam had feared that Jason wasn't strong enough. Jason wondered if Elizabeth would have lied to him about it. "I don't know," Elizabeth admitted, and then explained that she had stayed away from him, so that she wouldn't have to make that choice.

Jason revealed that Sam had persuaded Monica, Alexis, Molly, and even Spinelli to lie to him. Elizabeth assured Jason that Sam had only been trying to protect him. Jason couldn't hide his fury. He resented that Sam had decided what everyone should say to him. Jason was also angry that Sam had decided that he couldn't handle the news regarding Robin, so he wondered how to forgive Sam.

3/21 At the Drake residence, Noah was upset that Anna was mad at Patrick for sleeping with Lisa, even though Robin had forgiven Patrick for the infidelity. Noah doubted that Robin would want Anna to cause Patrick more pain, so Noah decided to have a chat with Anna. Noah pointed out that Anna wasn't the only person who had lost Robin. Patrick acknowledged that it had been a terrible mistake to sleep with Lisa, but Noah argued that Patrick had spent every day making up for it.

Patrick was curious how Noah could be certain of that, so Noah reminded his son that he knew what kind of man Patrick was. Patrick admitted that he deeply regretted sleeping with Lisa, because it had caused Robin tremendous pain during the last years of her life. Noah reminded Patrick that everyone made mistakes, but he insisted that Patrick had been a better husband, and father, than Noah had ever been. Noah assured his son that he was proud of Patrick.

Later, Noah returned to the living room after watching Emma sleep. Patrick warned his father not to be fooled, because Emma was a bundle of energy when she was awake. Noah chuckled, and then commented that Emma sounded a lot like Robin. Patrick wondered if Robin's loss would always be difficult. Noah advised Patrick to put one foot in front of the other. Patrick offered a weak smile, as he admitted that he was glad that Noah was there.

At Jake's, Anna confessed that she felt hurt that Robin hadn't confided to her about Patrick's infidelity. Luke pointed out that it had been Robin's marriage, and, therefore, Robin's problem to fix. Anna argued that Lisa had posed a danger to Robin, so Anna could have helped her daughter.

Anna feared that Robin had been reluctant to turn to her mother, because Anna had been in and out of Robin's life. Luke suggested that perhaps Robin had always intended to forgive Patrick, so Robin had been unwilling to prejudice Anna against Patrick. Anna was surprised that Robin would want to protect Patrick when Patrick hadn't honored Robin's love.

Luke suspected that Robin had wanted to spare Anna the pain that Anna was clearly feeling on behalf of her daughter. Anna realized that Robin would not have wanted Anna to lash out at Patrick, especially on the day of Robin's funeral. She confessed that she had seen the pain on Patrick's face, when he had talked about the affair, so Anna knew that Patrick was punishing himself more than Anna ever could. Anna decided that she needed to let Patrick know that she considered him family, and that she loved him, so she intended to be there for him.

Later, Anna picked up her bottle of tequila to make a toast. "To Robin," Luke suggested. Anna's eyes filled with fresh tears as she agreed, "To Robin."

On the bridge, Jason confessed to Elizabeth that he had sensed that something had been wrong after the explosion in the hospital. He then revealed that after the surgery, he had seen it in Sam's eyes that something was off every time he had asked for Robin. Elizabeth assured him that Sam had done everything that she could to save Jason's life. Jason was curious if Elizabeth knew that Robin had died for him. He insisted that Robin should have been at home with Emma, not dead. Elizabeth argued that Robin would have done the same for anyone, because it was how Robin had lived her life.

Jason was filled with remorse, but Elizabeth explained that it had been Robin's choice, so it wasn't Jason's fault, or Sam's. She urged Jason to forgive himself for being alive, because it was what Robin had wanted. Jason confessed that he was there to say goodbye, but he didn't know where to start.

Elizabeth warned him that holding onto Robin wouldn't change things. Jason assured her that he knew that, but Elizabeth realized that he might have found closure if he had attended the funeral. Jason was curious about the funeral, so Elizabeth told him told him about everyone's eulogies, but carefully avoided mentioning Maxie's meltdown.

Jason wondered how Patrick was doing, so Elizabeth admitted that Patrick was struggling. She then revealed that Robin would be cremated, which was something that a child shouldn't be told. Therefore, Elizabeth had arranged to have a commemorative brick added in the hospital's courtyard with Robin's name on it. Jason was curious how Emma was holding up.

Elizabeth explained that Emma was confused, because children didn't understand death the way that adults did. Jason noticed Elizabeth's sad expression, so he realized that she was thinking about Jake. Jason remarked that the one-year anniversary of their son's death was the following day. Jason was surprised when Elizabeth confided that Jake had loved going to the bridge, and that their son had first seen it when Elizabeth had taken the boys to a nearby park.

Elizabeth reached into her coat pocket, and then pulled out a handful of dried leaves. She tearfully revealed that Jake had taken the leaves home after their last trip to the bridge. Elizabeth explained that Jake had enjoyed tossing the leaves over the bridge, so that he could watch them drift to the water. Her voice cracked, as she recalled that Jake had once asked her if she thought that the leaves would make it to the ocean.

Jason was curious what Elizabeth had told Jake. "Absolutely. They're not going to stop until they get where they need to be," Elizabeth replied. Jason wrapped his hand around hers, as she quietly admitted that she missed Jake. Jason's eyes filled with tears. "I hope you can hear us, Jake. Just hope you can feel how much we love you," Jason told their son.

The wind whistled, as Jason and Elizabeth opened their hands to allow the crackling leaves to drift away. Afterwards, Jason continued to hold Elizabeth's hand, as they watched the water carry the leaves down the river.

3/22 Anna went to Patrick's house to talk to Patrick, but Noah answered the door. Noah invited Anna in, and then extended his condolences. He wished that they had reconnected under better circumstances, and then apologized for not making it to the funeral. Anna assured Noah that it was okay, and then revealed that Robert hadn't gone to the funeral either. Anna explained that everyone handled grief differently. Noah agreed, and then confessed that he knew about her confrontation with Patrick.

Noah wondered what Anna had been thinking when she had attacked Patrick on the day of his wife's funeral, so Anna reminded Noah that Robin had been her daughter. Noah suggested that she should have leaned on Patrick, instead of blasting him for the affair. Patrick entered the living room in time to hear Noah warn Anna to leave Patrick alone. Patrick insisted it was between Patrick and Anna, so he asked Noah to give them some privacy. After Noah went to check on Emma, Patrick admitted that Anna had been right to be angry.

Anna decided to sit down, because she had a pounding headache from drinking too much the night before. However, despite the hangover, she was thinking more clearly. Patrick assured Anna that she had been right to call him out for cheating on Robin, but Anna disagreed. She explained that she owed him an apology, because she had been more hurt that Robin hadn't trusted her enough to confide to her about the affair. Anna admitted that she had taken it out on Patrick. Patrick assured Anna that Robin had always known that she could count on Anna, but Anna had her doubts about that.

Anna revealed that Robin had always kept things light, whenever they had talked on the phone. Patrick suggested that perhaps Robin had been trying to spare him an "ass-kicking" from Anna and Robert. Anna smiled, and then confessed that it would have been painful. However, she felt as if she had failed her daughter, so she was frustrated that she could no longer make things right with Robin. Patrick assured Anna that Robin had loved her. After Patrick and Anna cleared the air, Patrick wondered how long Anna intended to remain in Port Charles.

Anna admitted that she would like to watch Emma grow up, and to make certain that Patrick and Emma were okay. Patrick thought that Robin would like that. Anna started to leave, but then stopped to confess that she was glad that Lisa was dead. Anna insisted that the person who had killed Lisa deserved a medal.

Anna entered the bar. Luke wondered if Anna had returned for the hair of the dog that had bitten her. Before Anna could answer, Elizabeth walked in. "If it's okay, can I go first?" Elizabeth asked.

3/23 Anna talked with Luke about Robert and how he’d run off to save the son he’d never even met. Luke was ill at ease as she spoke. Anna expressed her anger at Holly for having led Luke to believe Ethan was his son.Anna explained that having kept Robin’s existence from Robert for so many years had cost her greatly. Anna and Luke began to chat and reminisce. Anna was flabbergasted that Luke had married Tracy twice. The second time was for love, he explained before pointing out that Anna had married Duke Lavery, the biggest crime boss in town, while she was the police commissioner at the time, no less. “Touché,” she laughed.

Anna asked why Luke was at the bar on that day, the anniversary of Jake’s death. He explained he’d been self-destructive for some time after Jake had died. Anna acknowledged Luke was working to undo the damage he’d caused. Luke admitted he was broke. Anna offered to help, but Luke wouldn’t accept it. She let him know that she’d made things right with Patrick, after Luke had advised her to. “I couldn’t have gone through this without you, really,” Anna said as she held Luke’s hand. Tracy walked in just in time to witness the moment of affection.

3/26 After completing a condolence call from Brenda, Patrick answered his door and took delivery of Robin's ashes. Emma overheard him say that Robin's remains were in the box. Emma wondered how Robin could be in heaven and in the box. Patrick explained that Robin could not take all her things with her to heaven, and that what she had left behind was in the box. Emma was satisfied with his explanation but wanted to look in the box. Patrick diverted her by telling her to prepare for a tea party. When Emma left the room, Patrick called Elizabeth for help.

When Elizabeth arrived at Patrick's place, he told her that he did not know what to do. He told her what he had said to Emma about Robin's ashes. Elizabeth assured him that his explanation had been a good one. Patrick said that Emma had not been sleeping, and he did not feel comfortable keeping Robin's ashes around in case Emma asked more questions. Elizabeth said that it was best not to tell Emma more than she asked. When Patrick wondered what to do with Robin's ashes, Elizabeth asked if Robin and Patrick had a special place. Patrick said they did.

Elizabeth stayed with Emma, and they had a tea party together. Elizabeth told Emma that Robin had left behind two people who loved Robin. Elizabeth said that Robin would always be with Emma. When Emma asked about Patrick, Elizabeth said that Emma would always be the best reminder of Robin's love for Patrick.

Patrick took Robin's ashes to the country site where Robin and Patrick had planned to build their dream house. Patrick was crying as he talked to Robin and told her that he had not known what to do, so he had decided to take her home. Patrick said that he still could not believe that Robin was really gone, and he wanted her remains to be in the place that represented the culmination of all their hopes and dreams.

In a hospital room in an undisclosed location, a comatose, but apparently alive, Robin lay in a hospital bed.

3/27 Anna stopped by the Drake residence to see Patrick, so Elizabeth explained that Patrick had gone to scatter Robin's ashes. Elizabeth wondered how Anna was holding up, so Anna admitted that she had trouble finding the meaning in life without her daughter. Elizabeth empathized, because there was no way to describe how it felt to lose a child. Anna revealed that Luke had told her about what had happened to Jake, so she was curious if things ever got easier. "No," Elizabeth replied. Elizabeth confessed that she didn't wish that kind of pain on anyone. Anna thought that Elizabeth had been generous towards Luke at the Floating Rib.

Elizabeth explained that she had been known to go to the bar with her friends, but after Jake had died, it had been painful for Elizabeth to drive past the bar, because the neon sign had been a painful reminder of the son that she had lost. Elizabeth added that everything had reminded her of Jake, including the rooms in her house, and even the daycare center at the hospital.

Anna was curious how Elizabeth managed to get through the days. Elizabeth admitted that the first month had been easier, because people had always stopped by to check on her. However, as their mourning period had faded, and the visits became less frequent, Elizabeth had learned to carry on for the sake of her sons, Cam and Aiden.

Anna confided that Emma did that for her, but Anna wished that Robert were around. Elizabeth suggested that perhaps Robin's death had been too difficult for Robert to deal with. Anna agreed, but she didn't understand why Robert blamed himself for Robin's death, because Anna had been in the hospital at the time of the explosion, but hadn't been able to save Robin. Elizabeth reminded Anna that it had been a random accident. Anna confessed that it would be easier if Robin had been locked away in a room somewhere, because then Anna would be able to break down the door and rescue her daughter. Anna then began to talk about her strained relationship with Robert, which Robin had helped to mend.

Elizabeth admitted that people tended to think that the loss of a child drew parents together, when it often had the opposite effect. Anna revealed that she had heard that Lucky had moved to Ireland. Elizabeth explained that Lucky was happier there, but it had taken her awhile to accept that. Elizabeth then confided that she had finally allowed herself to open up to new possibilities. Anna was curious if there were anyone special that Elizabeth had met. Elizabeth chuckled, and then told Anna about Matt and another co-worker asking her out.

Anna thought that it sounded encouraging, but Elizabeth reminded Anna that Matt was involved with Maxie, and that the other man might just be a friend, because he hadn't shown up for their date. Anna sensed that Elizabeth might still be interested in the mystery man. Elizabeth confessed that she found herself thinking of him when she had least expected it, so Anna was curious what the man's name was. "Ewen Keenan," Elizabeth revealed.

Patrick stood on the property where he and Robin had planned to build their dream home. He held the urn of ashes in his hand, as he tearfully confessed that it didn't feel as if Robin were dead. Patrick sensed that he would see Robin again. Patrick's thoughts then drifted to the last time that he and Robin had visited the lot, and how peaceful Robin had found it.

Patrick returned to the present, as he cried that it felt as if Robin were still with him. Patrick then thought about the plans that he and Robin had made for their new home. According to Patrick, he felt as if he could reach out, and touch Robin. Patrick stretched out his hand, as if to touch Robin, but then dropped it.

Patrick slowly opened the urn, and then began to scatter the ashes. He explained that he had decided to sprinkle Robin's ashes on the property, so that she would always be a part of the place, like she would always be a part of his and Emma's lives. Patrick admitted that they would need Robin, so he asked her to keep on loving him, and to help him to go on without her. Patrick vowed that he would always love Robin, wherever she was.

Anna was waiting when Patrick arrived home. Anna confessed that Elizabeth had told her that he had gone to scatter Robin's ashes, so Anna was curious how it had been. Patrick told Anna where he had sprinkled the ashes, so she assured him that it had been a good choice.

Moments later, Elizabeth entered the living room, and then announced that she had to leave. Elizabeth told Patrick that she had left some food in the refrigerator for him and Emma, and then left. Anna decided to spend some time with Emma, so Patrick sat down to watch the Christmas video that he and Robin had made. Patrick's eyes filled with unshed tears as he watched Robin. Moments later, he turned it off. "I still feel you. You'll always be with me," Patrick told Robin.

In an undisclosed medical facility, Robin's eyes snapped open. "What's going on?" she wondered, as she slowly looked around the small hospital room. "Where am I?" she asked. Moments later, Robin weakly reached out, as if to touch Patrick, while she softly whispered his name. Robin realized that something wasn't right, so she sat up in bed, and then tried to go to the door. Her legs gave out after a few steps, so she crawled the rest of the way.

Robin began to pound on the door when she discovered that the door was locked. Moments later, a nurse entered the room, and then told Robin that Robin should be in bed resting. Robin didn't recognize the nurse, so she demanded to know where Patrick and Emma were. The nurse ignored Robin's question, as she helped Robin back into the bed. Robin realized that she wasn't at General Hospital, but the nurse refused to tell Robin where Robin was. Robin had flashbacks of her final moments in the lab.

"Did they get me out before the explosion?" Robin wondered. The nurse assured Robin that there was nothing to worry about, and then promised that everything would be fine. Robin became increasingly agitated, so the nurse injected Robin with a sedative. After Robin fell asleep, someone else entered the room. The nurse assured the mystery person that she hadn't told Robin anything, so Robin had no idea who was responsible for Robin being there.

4/2 Maxie was escorted into the courtroom, wearing handcuffs. Shortly after, Patrick walked in. Spinelli feared what Patrick would say and tried to prevent Patrick from speaking to Maxie, but Maxie told Spinelli that she would be okay. Matt asked Spinelli to leave because it was a family matter. Spinelli left reluctantly after Matt said he would watch over Maxie.

Maxie turned to Patrick and told him that she understood that he must hate her for what she had done. Maxie begged Patrick to say that he hated her for causing Robin's death, but Patrick said that Maxie did not understand why he was there. Patrick told Maxie that Robin's death had been an accident and that she was not to blame. Maxie insisted that she was to blame because she had been selfish and that her last words to Robin had been angry ones accusing Robin of being selfish.

Patrick responded that Robin had loved Maxie and had always referred to Maxie as the sister that she had never had. Maxie said that she heard Patrick but did not believe him. Maxie insisted that she did not deserve Robin's friendship. Patrick said that Maxie was wrong. He told Maxie that she had given Robin loyalty and support and had made Robin laugh.

Patrick said that Maxie had been lucky to have Robin in her life, and Robin had been lucky to have Maxie in hers. Patrick said that the only way he was able to go on was to think of all the things he had, including Emma, his father, and Matt, and not of what he had lost. Patrick advised Maxie to think the same way.

Outside, Patrick sat on a bench, and Matt thanked Patrick for what he had said to Maxie. Patrick admitted that he had meant every word, including that he was happy that Matt was in his life. Before Matt could reply, Patrick told him not to let it go to his head and walked away.

Spinelli arrived back in the courtroom as the judge said that they were there for the arraignment of Mariah Maximilliana Jones. He explained that there were three pleas; not guilty, which would result in a trial; nolo contendre, which neither denied nor admitted guilt and would also result in a trial; and guilty, which would result in an immediate sentence. When the judge asked how Maxie would plead, Alexis said, "Not guilty," but Maxie jumped up, overrode Alexis, and shouted, "Guilty."

4/5 Matt was stunned when he saw Patrick arrive at GH ready for rounds. Matt insisted that Patrick needed more time to deal with Robin's death, and to spend time with Emma. Patrick argued that Emma needed a routine, so Patrick decided to return to work instead of sitting in a house that constantly reminded him of Robin.

Matt suggested that Patrick and Emma take a trip, but Patrick insisted that a trip wouldn't change anything, because the pain would be waiting for them when they returned home. Matt pointed out that the hospital was more than the place where Robin had died, so he urged Patrick to remember all the good that Robin had done at the hospital, and to think of all of the people that she had saved.

Patrick recalled the moments before the explosion, when he had smelled the gas in the lab, but Matt insisted that the blast had been a terrible accident. Patrick recalled that he had told Maxie the same thing. Matt thanked Patrick for talking to Maxie, even though she had decided to plead guilty.

Matt feared that Maxie's life and career were over, because she would be sentenced for a double homicide. Matt was frustrated because he couldn't provide Maxie with an alibi, since he had been with Elizabeth, and then had passed out from drinking too much. Matt admitted that he loved Maxie and wanted her to be a part of his life, so Patrick advised Matt to try to find a way to save Maxie, because Matt had no idea how long he would have with the woman he loved.

Later, a patient called out to Patrick. Patrick greeted Mrs. Abernathy, and then asked about her six-month checkup. Mrs. Abernathy assured Patrick that she was fine, and then asked if Robin were around, because she wanted to say hello to her. Before Patrick could reply, Matt explained that Robin was not on rotation. Mrs. Abernathy was disappointed, but promised to catch up with Robin the next time that Mrs. Abernathy returned for a checkup. After Mrs. Abernathy left, Patrick decided to fetch Emma from daycare and then go home.

4/9 As Anna looked through paperwork with John, a picture of Anna and Robin fell on the floor. Anna picked up the photo and started sobbing. John hugged her. Luke went back to the hotel and walked in on Anna crying in John's arms. When he asked, Anna told Luke that she was okay. John left, and Anna went to her room. Luke picked up a picture of Robin and Anna that he found laying on the floor.

4/19 At the Drake residence, Patrick sat on the sofa, watching the DVD that he and Robin had made during Christmas. Unshed tears hovered in his eyes, as he stared at the screen, while ignoring the knock at the door. The person continued to knock, so Patrick reluctantly paused the DVD, and then slowly made his way to the door.

"What do you want?" Patrick asked when he saw Epiphany standing on his doorstep. Epiphany explained that she had covered for Patrick at work, so that Monica wouldn't fire him. Patrick explained that it hadn't been necessary, because it would have saved him the trouble of quitting.

Epiphany followed Patrick into the living room. She noticed the bottle of alcohol, the disarray, and the DVD that Patrick had been watching, so she demanded to know where Emma was. Epiphany relaxed when Patrick explained that his daughter was at Elizabeth's house. Epiphany insisted that Patrick couldn't continue to live as he was, so it was time for Patrick to stop boozing it up and feeling sorry for himself.

Patrick didn't see any reason to stop, so Epiphany reminded him of the patients that he had waiting at the hospital. Patrick didn't care; he was determined to sit there and miss his wife. Epiphany agreed to give Patrick one more night to wallow in his grief, but then she intended to return. She informed him that he could fight her all he wanted, but she would win in the end. Patrick stared forlornly at the image of Robin, Patrick, and Emma on the screen, as Epiphany went to the door. After Epiphany left, Patrick hit play.

4/27 Matt went to see Patrick and told him that Maxie was being sentenced that day. Patrick was suffering the aftereffects of a night spent wallowing in drink and self-pity. He told Matt he was sick, and Matt believed him. Matt said that Maxie wanted to be punished because she believed that she was responsible for Robin's death, and nothing would change that. Matt also told Patrick that he had teamed up with Spinelli to find the real killer.

Matt explained that Spinelli had suspected that either Ewen or Patrick was the murderer. Patrick said Spinelli's suspicions were ridiculous. Patrick suggested that Matt should go to the courthouse to be with Maxie and offered to go with Matt. Matt told Patrick to stay home and take care of himself. Matt hugged Patrick and said that although he had not always supported Patrick in the past, they were family, and Matt would be there for Patrick in the future.

After Matt left for the courthouse, Patrick sank down on the floor and called Elizabeth. Patrick asked her to pick Emma up from daycare and let Emma spend the night with Elizabeth for the second day in a row. When Elizabeth asked if everything was okay with Patrick, he replied that he was doing a consult at Mercy hospital and would be working, so he needed help with Emma.

Elizabeth was relieved and said she was glad that Patrick was getting his life back. After terminating the call, Patrick went to the couch and started watching the Christmas video that he had shot with Emma and Robin. When it was over, Patrick lay down on the couch and covered his face with a pillow.

Mac told Anna that he had lost Robin and Georgie, and he was going to lose Maxie also. Mac said that he did not know how he would cope.

4/30 Spinelli was stunned to find out that Maxie had know all along that Matt had murdered Lisa. Spinelli insisted that Maxie had to tell the truth, but Maxie said that she had gone to great lengths to protect Matt.

5/10 At the Drake residence, Patrick ignored the knocking on the front door, so Matt let himself in. Matt was concerned when he noticed the messy surroundings and Patrick's disheveled appearance. Matt realized that Patrick needed help as much as Maxie did. Matt tried for levity by asking if Patrick had woken up with food poisoning.

Patrick muttered that he'd gotten a late start, and then asked how Maxie was doing. Matt told him that she had been sentenced to twenty years in Pentonville. Matt was frustrated, because he hadn't been able to help Maxie. Patrick doubted that he could help Maxie either. Matt agreed, because Patrick hadn't been to work, he refused to take calls, avoided those who loved him, and barely managed to get himself out of bed. Matt warned Patrick that Emma felt the distance.

Patrick's temper flared, because Emma was none of Matt's concern. Matt handed Patrick a picture that Emma had drawn. Matt accused Patrick of hiding, not grieving, so Matt refused to stand by while Patrick jumped down a dark hole with Emma. Patrick yelled that Matt didn't understand what Patrick was dealing with, or the loss that Patrick felt, but Matt disagreed. Matt reminded Patrick that Maxie was in jail. Patrick scoffed, because it didn't compare to losing his wife. Matt wondered if Patrick cared about how much Maxie had meant to Robin.

Patrick suggested that Matt find the real killer, because they both knew that Maxie hadn't killed Lisa. Matt refused to leave Patrick when Patrick clearly needed help, but Patrick resented Matt's presence. Patrick insisted that Matt's familial obligations had been met, and then ordered Matt to leave. After Matt left, Patrick stared at picture of Robin, Emma, and Patrick during happy times. Afterwards, Patrick picked up Emma's drawing, looked at it, and then flopped down on the sofa.

5/14 Anna pounded on Patrick's door and rang the doorbell, but no one answered. When she walked away, Patrick peeked around the corner. Epiphany showed up a few minutes later but did not give up pounding on the door and calling for Patrick, who eventually answered. Patrick was dirty, hungover, and unshaven. Epiphany said that she had been covering for him for several weeks but that it was time for Patrick to take a shower, stop drinking, and go back to work. Epiphany told Patrick that patients needed him. Patrick said that there were plenty of doctors who could replace him.

Epiphany showed Ewen Keenan's file to Patrick and said that Ewen needed Patrick. Patrick told her to turn it over to another doctor. Epiphany asked Patrick how long he had been telling anyone who would listen that he was God's gift to medicine. She said that she had put up with his ego because it was true. Patrick said that he could not work because he was dealing with the aftermath of Robin's death. Epiphany told Patrick that what he was doing was the opposite of dealing. She told him he had to think of Emma. Epiphany pulled no punches when she said that Patrick needed to take a good look in the mirror and decide if that was the person he wanted to be.

Inside Kelly's, Jason spotted Elizabeth, who was tending both Aiden and Emma. Emma was drawing pictures. When Jason approached, Elizabeth said that she was caring for Emma because Patrick was consulting at Mercy. When Elizabeth encouraged Emma to draw a picture for Patrick, Emma said that she wanted her mommy.

Jason told Emma that her mommy, Robin, had been a friend to him and that Robin had taught him a lot of things, including how to play checkers and how to cook spaghetti. Jason said that he missed Emma's mommy. Emma said that her mommy was in heaven. Jason said that Robin still watched over Emma, and Emma agreed that she could feel Robin in her heart.

5/16 At the hospital, Epiphany told Elizabeth that Ewen would soon be prepped for surgery. Epiphany realized that Elizabeth was disappointed that Patrick had refused to operate on Ewen, but Elizabeth suggested that it was for the best, because Patrick hadn't been ready. Epiphany agreed that no one could force Patrick to return to work. "Except me," Patrick replied. Epiphany and Elizabeth were pleasantly surprised when Patrick revealed that he was there to resume his responsibilities.

Elizabeth feared that she might have pressured Patrick, so he assured her that he was doing it for Robin; however, he regretted that he had turned down Elizabeth's request to help Ewen. Patrick was also sorry that he had lied to Elizabeth about working at Mercy Hospital. Epiphany insisted that none of that mattered, and Elizabeth agreed. Elizabeth assured Patrick that the important thing was that Patrick was there. After Elizabeth left to alert the surgical team that Patrick would operate on Ewen, Epiphany wondered what had gotten Patrick off of the sofa.

"You," Patrick replied. After Patrick changed into scrubs, Epiphany caught up to him. She admitted that she hadn't thought that Patrick had been listening when she had visited him. Patrick confessed that he had followed Epiphany's advice by looking in the mirror. He hadn't recognized the person staring back at him, which had made him realize that Emma probably hadn't either. Epiphany assured Patrick that Emma loved him, so she saw her daddy when she looked at him.

Patrick was skeptical, because his eyes had seemed empty, which made sense, because everything seemed empty without Robin. Epiphany suggested that it didn't have to be that way if Patrick didn't want it to be, because he was surrounded by a lot of people who cared about him. Patrick confessed that he had lashed out at those close to him, like Matt. Epiphany was confident that Matt would forgive his brother. She let Patrick know that she was proud of him and then reminded him that Ewen was waiting.

Later, Elizabeth let Patrick know that Ewen had seemed to relax when she had told him that Patrick had agreed to operate on him. Patrick quipped that perhaps it was the anesthesia. Elizabeth smiled and admitted that it was good to have Patrick back at work. Patrick credited Emma. Elizabeth assured Patrick that everyone, including Robin, had a lot of faith in Patrick. Moments later, Epiphany announced that Ewen was prepped and ready for surgery.

5/18 At the nurses' station, Matt was lost in thought, as he recalled Maxie's revelation that he had killed Lisa. Elizabeth noticed that Matt seemed distracted, so she asked if he were okay. Matt shook off the disturbing memory, and then told Elizabeth that Maxie would soon be released from Pentonville. Elizabeth was happy for Maxie, so she wondered what had happened. Matt explained that Maxie had confessed in an attempt to protect someone. Elizabeth was curious who it was, but Patrick walked up to announce that Ewen's surgery had gone well.

Matt wondered what was going on, so Elizabeth explained that Patrick had saved Ewen's life. After Elizabeth left, Matt was curious what had turned Patrick around. Patrick admitted that he had finally started to hear everyone's advice. Patrick regretted how he had treated Matt, because he realized that Matt had been trying to help him. Matt assured his brother that he was glad that Patrick had seen the light. Patrick smiled, and then confessed that operating on Ewen had been the push that he had needed.

Matt smiled when Patrick arrogantly confided that only Patrick could have saved Ewen's life. Patrick realized that Matt had been dealing with his own problems, so Matt revealed that Maxie wouldn't be in jail for much longer. Patrick was curious if they had found new evidence. Matt carefully explained that it was a bit more complicated than that, but he didn't elaborate. Patrick promised to be more supportive of Matt, because Matt and Emma were all the family that Patrick had.

Later, Elizabeth approached Matt for details about Maxie's release from jail. She was curious if Lisa's killer had been identified, but Matt was saved from having to answer when Patrick walked up to announce that Ewen had asked for Elizabeth. Elizabeth beamed with joy, and then dashed off to see Ewen.

Patrick pulled on a jacket, so Matt wondered if Patrick was headed home. Patrick confirmed that he was, and then advised Matt to do the same. Matt admitted that it was good to have Patrick back, so Patrick confessed that he felt hopeful for the first time, since Robin had died.

Music montage as Patrick goes home and tucks Emma into bed.

5/29 At the hospital, Matt confessed to Elizabeth and Patrick that he had killed Lisa, but he had blocked the incident out. Matt then revealed the details about the district attorney's offer to Maxie. Patrick insisted on accompanying Matt to court, because Patrick wanted the judge to know that Lisa had been insane. Elizabeth offered to testify that Lisa had tried to kill her by tossing Elizabeth overboard. Matt thanked Elizabeth, and then left with Patrick.

5/30 In the courtroom, Maxie and Matt announced that they were married. Maxie informed the district attorney that a wife could not be compelled to testify against a husband, so she was confident that Matt wouldn't face any charges, because there hadn't been any other witnesses to Lisa's death, or anything to link Matt to the crime.

The district attorney reluctantly admitted that Maxie was correct. Felicia feared Maxie would have to return to Pentonville, but the district attorney explained that Maxie's vacated sentence would stand. However, the district attorney vowed to find a way to make Lisa's killer pay for the crime.

After the district attorney stormed out of the courtroom, Rosalyn Quan, Maxie's attorney, praised Maxie for outmaneuvering the district attorney. After Rosalyn left, Spinelli suggested that Maxie and Matt could end their marriage when the statute of limitations for Lisa's murder expired, but Mac explained that there wasn't any statute of limitations for murder, so Maxie would have to remain married to Matt to avoid testifying.

In the hallway, Patrick questioned Matt's decision to marry Maxie. Matt explained that he had been given a second chance at life, thanks to Maxie, who had proven her love for Matt. Matt admitted that he loved Maxie, and welcomed the opportunity to make his life count by doing good.

Spinelli approached Patrick, in an attempt to enlist Patrick's aid. Patrick didn't think that it was his place to judge, but if Maxie and Matt found even a fraction of the joy that Patrick had found with Robin, then Maxie and Matt had Patrick's blessings. Patrick walked up to Maxie and Matt, wished them well, and then left. Spinelli watched helplessly as Maxie and Matt decided to go home, hand-in-hand.

6/11 Patrick gave Ewen the green light and said that Ewen was ready to be released. Elizabeth was ecstatic for Ewen. Patrick thanked Elizabeth and gave credit to Epiphany for helping him overcome his depression following Robin's death.

At the PCPD, Matt called Patrick who excused himself from Ewen's room to take the call in the hall. Patrick rushed down to the police station, where Matt said that he had confessed to killing Lisa Niles. Patrick was surprised and said that he thought Matt had married Maxie to avoid going to jail. Matt said that was before he remembered the killing, and since he remembered, he felt guilty.

Matt said that all he could remember was the oath he had taken to "do no harm." Patrick said that Lisa had taken the same oath, but that had not stopped her from harming Robin and others. Matt said that it was what he had done that counted. Alexis entered and said that she had spoken to the D.A.

Maxie, Mac, and Felicia were surprised when Matt and Patrick walked in a few seconds later. Maxie exclaimed that Matt was free, but Matt said, "Not exactly," and went on to explain that he had signed a confession. Matt said that his sentence was five years and that he had been given time to say his goodbyes before reporting to Pentonville. Maxie took Patrick aside and begged him to use his influence with Matt to get Matt to recant his confession. Patrick said that Matt was following his conscience. Patrick added that if Maxie loved Matt, she would support him.

Spinelli arrived while Matt was apologizing to Mac for causing problems. Mac thanked Matt for doing the right thing and taking responsibility. Matt turned to Maxie and told her that Alexis would be handling the annulment. Maxie was stunned. Matt kissed Maxie on the forehead and left with Patrick.

6/20 Patrick and Emma were enjoying a tea party picnic in the park when Emma spotted Mac. Emma ran up to Mac, who warmly hugged her. Patrick invited Mac to join them, so Emma resumed playing with her stuffed bear, while Mac asked Patrick how Mac's son-in-law, Matt, was doing in jail. Patrick assured Mac that Matt was fine. Mac was happy to hear it and noted that Patrick looked well. Patrick admitted that returning to work had helped, but he immediately regretted his insensitive remark, because Mac had recently lost his job. Mac waved away Patrick's concern, because Mac finally had an opportunity to spend time with Maxie, Emma, and Felicia.

Patrick was surprised when Mac confided that Mac had romantic feelings for Felicia. However, Mac was frustrated, because someone always interrupted Mac and Felicia whenever they were about to kiss. Mac wondered if the universe was trying to tell them something. Emma asked to play on the swings, so Patrick gave his daughter permission. Mac and Patrick watched Emma, as they continued their conversation. Patrick reminded Mac that Robin had given Patrick a second chance, which Patrick had been grateful for, so Patrick suggested that Mac not waste too much pondering about what the universe was trying to say. Mac worried that his heart might not be as big as Robin's had been.

Patrick was startled when he saw Maxie walking through the park in tears. He called out to Maxie, as Emma ran up to greet her. Patrick invited Maxie to join them, so Maxie wiped away her tears and explained that she and Spinelli had argued. Patrick gently suggested that she didn't have to wait for Matt, but Maxie insisted that she loved Matt. She then confided that she had even given up her apartment so that she could move into Matt's place. Patrick told her that Matt no longer had an apartment.

Maxie was surprised, but quickly recovered. She realized that she would have to temporarily stay with Mac, but she was reluctant, because it appeared that Mac and Felicia were trying to work things out. Maxie didn't want to get in the way. Patrick suggested that she move in with him and Emma. Maxie declined, but Patrick enlisted Emma's help to change Maxie's mind.

6/26 At the Drake residence, Maxie was asleep on the sofa when Patrick entered the living room, demanding that she take off his robe. Maxie groggily sat up, and then apologized, as she shrugged out of the robe. She explained that she had left her clothes in the car. Patrick immediately calmed down and apologized for overreacting. He revealed that Robin would wear the robe all of the time, even though his wife had given him the robe for Christmas.

Maxie appreciated that Patrick had opened his home to her. Patrick regretted that he had let Matt's apartment go without talking to Maxie. Maxie hated that she had never taken the time to consider how her actions might affect others, like when she had impulsively moved out of the apartment. She feared that her presence in Patrick's home might be a constant reminder of what had happened to Robin, so she offered to move out. Emma ran into the living room before Patrick could respond.

Maxie immediately offered to make breakfast, so Patrick and Emma decided to find the fire extinguisher. A short time later, Maxie, Patrick, and Emma were munching on cereal at the breakfast table. Maxie conceded that she was a terrible cook. Patrick smiled, and then suggested that Emma finish up with breakfast, so that Emma could get ready for day camp. Maxie insisted on helping Emma, because Maxie was familiar with fashion. After Maxie and Emma left the kitchen, Patrick fetched a bottle of pills from the pocket of his robe.

Later, Patrick returned to the living room to slide a few tablets into his pants pocket, and then stashed the bottle of pills in the robe's pocket. Moments later, Emma and Maxie returned to the living room. Patrick complimented Emma's outfit. Maxie decided to head to Crimson to make certain that things were running smoothly, while Kate was "out of commission." Emma wondered if Maxie intended to return at the end of the day, so Patrick tactfully sent Emma to the kitchen to fetch Emma's lunch pail. After Emma left, Maxie assured Patrick that she would find somewhere else to live, but Patrick wanted Maxie to stay, because it was clear that Emma enjoyed having Maxie around.

After Patrick and Emma left, Maxie took a shower. Maxie realized that she had forgotten her clothes in the car, so Maxie shrugged into Patrick's robe to avoid dashing to her car in the towel. Maxie dropped her keys into the pocket, but stopped short when she felt the bottle of pills.

In an examination room, Patrick assured Jason that everything seemed fine. Jason wondered if it was his last follow-up appointment, so Patrick explained that he would have to see Jason in six months for one final checkup. Jason thanked Patrick, because Patrick and Robin had saved Jason's life. After Jason left, Patrick popped a couple of pills. Moments later, Ewen entered the room.

6/27 At the Drake residence, Maxie looked at a bottle of pills that she had found stashed in the pocket of Patrick's robe. She recalled how upset Patrick had been when he had seen her wearing the robe earlier that morning. Later, Lulu stopped by to find out why Maxie had let go of their old apartment. Maxie explained that she had thought that the apartment would be better for Starr and Trey. Lulu recalled that Maxie had loved the apartment, so Lulu was curious if Maxie's decision to move had something to do with Spinelli. Maxie admitted that she had quarreled with Spinelli, and that he had washed his hands of her.

Lulu felt bad for Maxie, but she was curious why Maxie hadn't gone to live with Mac. Maxie explained that Mac and Felicia were on the verge of reconciliation, so Maxie had been reluctant to get in the middle of it. Lulu feared that living with Patrick might not be good for Maxie, because it was a constant reminder of Robin's loss. Maxie insisted that Patrick needed her, because Patrick had spent three weeks holed up in the house while everyone had been focused on Maxie. Lulu suggested that, at some point, Patrick had to be responsible for how he handled his grief. Maxie wanted Patrick to get help from Maxie, rather than from a bottle of pills.

Maxie showed Lulu the pills that Maxie had found in Patrick's robe. Lulu pointed out that Maxie didn't have any proof that the pills were narcotics. Lulu suggested that they might be antidepressants. Maxie conceded that Lulu could be right, but Maxie didn't want to take any chances, because Maxie had once enabled Lucky when Lucky had battled addiction. Lulu argued that Lucky's problem had been different. However, Lulu appreciated that Maxie was concerned, so she advised Maxie to talk to Patrick about the pills.

Patrick popped a couple of pills, as Ewen entered the examination room for a check-up with Patrick. Ewen sensed that Patrick seemed on edge, so Patrick claimed that he had taken a couple of aspirin for a headache. Ewen's eyes narrowed, but he didn't push further. Patrick quickly shifted gears, by examining Ewen's head injury and asking how Ewen was doing. Ewen admitted that he had low-grade anxiety, because of Elizabeth. Patrick's smile faded when Ewen asked what the deal was between Elizabeth and Jason.

Ewen explained that he had gone to Elizabeth's house for dinner the previous evening, but Jason had been there. Ewen had thought that it was an innocent encounter until he had overheard Elizabeth and Steve talking about Jason. Patrick admitted that Ewen had a right to be concerned about Elizabeth and Jason, because Jason had a way of sucking in women who wanted to heal Jason. Ewen realized that Patrick had been referring to Robin, not just Elizabeth, so he offered to help Patrick if Patrick needed someone to talk to about Robin's death. Patrick insisted that he was fine, and that working had helped more than any session with a therapist. After Ewen left, Patrick took a few more pills.

Later, Patrick arrived home. He was surprised that Maxie was there, since she had told him that she had intended to go to work. Maxie explained that she had changed her mind, and then admitted that she needed to talk to Patrick about something.

6/28 At the Drake residence, Maxie held up the bottle of pills that she had found in the pocket of Patrick's robe. She wanted to know what the pills were. Patrick was livid that Maxie had been snooping through his things. Maxie explained that she had stumbled onto the pills when she had put his robe on, after her shower, so that she could dash to the car to fetch her clothes. She reminded him that he had been furious when he had seen her in the robe earlier that morning, so she wondered if perhaps it was because he was afraid that she had found the pills. Patrick explained that he had been upset because Robin had always worn the robe. Maxie admitted that she didn't want to repeat the same mistake that she had made with Lucky by enabling Patrick.

Patrick claimed that the pills were acetaminophen, and that they were in a prescription bottle because he had asked a nurse to grab them when he'd had a headache at the hospital. The tension eased out of Maxie as she apologized for jumping to the wrong conclusion. Patrick took the pills back and announced that he had to pick Emma up. After Patrick went to his bedroom to change clothes, Maxie picked up the pill that she had dropped earlier.

7/6 After Emma sustained a boo-boo, Patrick offered to heal it with a kiss, but Emma told him that, "Only Mommy could do that." Patrick took Emma to another room to put a bandage on her. Lulu stopped by to visit. She asked Maxie if she'd confronted Patrick about his pill use. Maxie reported that he'd replied that they were just acetaminophen.

Maxie confided to Lulu that she had kept one of the pills. A surly Patrick returned to the room, just as the hospital paged him. He asked Maxie and Lulu to watch Emma, while he went to the hospital. Outside, Patrick popped one of the pills as he headed to the car. Meanwhile, the girls decided to search online to identify the pill.

A short time later, Patrick returned. Patrick wondered what Maxie and Lulu were doing, so they claimed that they were looking at some fashions online. Lulu announced that she had to leave, so Maxie followed her friend outside. Maxie and Lulu realized that Patrick had lied about the pills, because their online search had revealed that the pills that Patrick had been taking were Dynexin, an amphetamine used to treat ADHD and obesity. Maxie wondered what they should do, so Lulu suggested that Maxie talk to Patrick about what they had discovered.

Moments later, Patrick stepped out onto the porch. Maxie and Lulu claimed that they were waiting for the fireworks show to begin, so Patrick decided to join them. Maxie gave Lulu a pointed look, so Lulu cleared her throat and told Patrick that they needed to talk to him about something.

7/9 Maxie and Lulu staged an intervention with Patrick. They confronted him about his drug use. Patrick denied that he was on drugs. Lulu said that Maxie had been worried about him. When Lulu asked again about the pill that Maxie had found. Patrick said that it was a form of aspirin. Lulu told Patrick that he was lying. Lulu said that they had looked the drug code up online and knew that it was an amphetamine. Patrick said it was none of their business. Lulu wanted to know why he had lied. Patrick said that he had ADHD and if anyone knew it could ruin his career.

Lulu asked to see his doctor's prescription. Patrick finally admitted that he was self medicating. Patrick said that he was still grieving and that it was impossible to get through the day without the drugs. He said that he was constantly being reminded of Robin and all that he had lost. Lulu said that grief was still not a reason to self-medicate.

Lulu asked about Emma and what would happen if she got into the medication. Patrick said that would not happen. Lulu said what about the other damage. What if using the pills prevented them from being close, like what had happened to Lulu and Luke because of Luke's alcoholism. Lulu told Patrick that she spoke from experience when she said that some damage could never be repaired, no matter how hard a person tried to make things right. Maxie pointed out that Patrick could look at his own father and see the damage that substance abuse had caused between Patrick and Noah.

Patrick said that Lulu and Maxie were not playing fair. Lulu said Patrick had a choice. She said he could give up the pills and it would be all over or keep taking the pills and it would get much worse. When Patrick asked what the next steps should be Lulu said that he should get rid of the pills and call a doctor.

Patrick emptied his pocket of pills and retrieved the bottle from his robe and gave it to Maxie. When Maxie said that he should call a doctor, Patrick said that he was tired and would call Ewen the following morning after he got some sleep. Maxie was ebullient and believed that she and Lulu had intervened in time. Lulu was quiet as she toyed with the pill bottle and did not seem as convinced as Maxie was that Patrick was ready to give up his addiction and seek medical help.

7/11 At the hospital, Patrick thanked Maxie for helping Emma to get ready earlier that morning. He wasn't eager for Emma to grow up, in part because Robin wouldn't get to see it. However, he was grateful for Maxie's help. Maxie assured Patrick that she was there for him and Emma, so she wanted to make sure that Patrick was through with the pills.

Patrick asked Maxie to keep her voice down, because he was afraid that someone might overhear her. Maxie refused to apologize, because she was worried about Patrick. Patrick confessed that he had never felt the kind of pain that he had when Robin had died, so he had taken the pills to take the edge off. However, he assured her that he was not addicted to the pills. Maxie wanted Patrick to promise her that he would make an appointment with Ewen to talk about what had happened. Patrick explained that he had a busy day, but he would call to schedule an appointment. Maxie insisted that Patrick do it for Emma's sake, and then left.

Later, a nurse noticed that Patrick didn't look well. Patrick assured the nurse that he was fine, as Maxie walked up to the nurses' station. Patrick was concerned that something had happened to Emma, so Maxie explained that Emma had asked Maxie to find out if Patrick could take Emma to the zoo later that day. Patrick insisted that he was swamped with work, so it would have to wait for the weekend. Maxie reminded Patrick to make an appointment with Ewen, and then left.

Patrick's hand shook, as he pulled a pill out of his pocket. However, he picked up the phone to schedule an appointment with Ewen.
