Robin & Patrick #6  November 30, 2007 - June 2, 2008 - 8 hour original edit

DVD #6A  As they struggle to accept Emily's death, the hospital staff attempts to save the life of a young bride who was hit by a car on the way to her wedding. Kelly cautions Melina's family that in addition to the neurosurgery she will also need an emergency hysterectomy.  The crisis opens Patrick's eyes, and he tells Robin that he thinks their love can outweigh their differences. Declaring his love to Robin, Patrick urges her to give their relationship another chance.

December 3 - Patrick commends Robin for soothing Melina's anxious family, then urges her to believe they can still have a future together. Robin runs into Jason at GH and tells him how sorry she was to hear about Emily's death. Jason explains to Robin why Nikolas is a suspect in her murder (glitch during Jason & Robin scene). Patrick tries to make a compromise with Robin. But in the end, she sadly rejects his suggestion that they give their relationship another chance.

December 4 (slight glitch during scene) - Liz talks to Robin about how she can't believe what her life has become. Kelly comes over and they all discuss having a girl's night out. Emily would have wanted them to do that. Epiphany watches Robin, Patrick, and Leyla talk about their patient. When Robin leaves, Patrick asks Leyla out to dinner. She can't believe it. She knows that he is pining for Robin every day. They are going to be professional from now on. She storms off, and Nadine, who witnesses the exchange, goes after her. The two women go to Jake's. Coleman asks if they are there for the dancing on the table competition. They say no. Leyla orders a vodka, straight up. Nadine asks for a beer. Leyla tells Nadine that she never wanted a long term relationship, until she met Patrick. Falling in love wasn't part of the plan. Leyla decides that she doesn't need a man. She needs someone who will treat her better than second best. She will do better than Patrick. Nadine tells her that she doesn't need a doctor. She's going to become a doctor herself. Leyla says she's going to become a better doctor than Patrick. She's glad he's out of her life. Later, Liz, Robin, and Kelly come to Jake's for their night out. They see the sign outside for table dancing and talk about what kind of woman would subject herself to that. They go inside and are shocked to see a drunk Leyla dancing on top of tables with men throwing money at her.

Still hurting over the situation with Jason, Elizabeth has too much to drink at Jake's. When an unwitting Patrick arrives, Elizabeth unleashes her pent up anger on him. As her friends all cheer her on, Elizabeth calls Patrick a coward for refusing to become a father. Robin, Lainey, and Kelly initiate new nurse Nadine into their Ladies' Night at Jake's. Patrick and his fellow surgeon friend, Julian, watch them and overhear them talk about him not wanting to be a father. They discuss what is great and not so great about women. Patrick ends up joining them at their table to confront them about his choice not to be a father. He points out to Kelly that she doesn't want to have children either and that she shouldn't be a hypocrite. She tells him that if she found the right guy and he wanted to be a father she would be willing to negotiate a compromise. Patrick points out to the women that none of them are mothers and they have no idea if they would even like it if they did have children and had to face the reality of being a mother. Robin tells them that she had a dream about being a mother and it felt so real that she realizes that she will probably have the same feeling if she did hold her baby for the first time.

Later, Patrick and Robin talk alone at Jake's. Patrick tells her he wants to find a way for them to be together and make things work. Robin feels that she is being asked to make an impossible choice for herself by having to choose between being a mother and being with him. She tells him again that she can't compromise on being a mother. Patrick gets a call on his cell-phone from Alexis, who tells him that Leyla is in trouble and needs his help right now. Patrick shows up at Jerry's hotel room and picks Leyla up to take her home. Leyla is still pretty drunk and tells Patrick that she is over him and to leave but then she ends up leaning on him anyway. Patrick carries her out of Jerry's room. Robin shows up at the hotel for another reason and sees Patrick escorting Leyla out of the hotel. She wonders if she is making the right decision about Patrick.

Spinelli passes through the park and finds Georgie dead on the steps with a phone cord wrapped around her neck. He calls the police. Detective Harper arrives on the scene and questions Spinelli, who saw nothing and provides no information. Mac is distraught and outraged when he finds Georgie dead. He is grief-stricken and blames Spinelli. Detective Harper tries to convince him that Spinelli, who is too dazed to mention Georgie's suspicions of Coop, is innocent but Mac wants him finger-printed and DNA evidence taken.

Robin and Liz are talking about Nikolas and his progress in Switzerland when Maxie arrives at the hospital. Mac goes to get Dr. Winters, and Robin realizes the situation is not good. Patrick comes over and asks Robin what is going on, but she doesn't know yet. Mac reveals through tears that Georgie was strangled. Robin hugs Mac who is grieving deeply. When Mac leaves, Robin tries to get back to work. Patrick comes over to talk to her, and she asks him why everyone she loves has to die. He hugs her. Robin goes to give Maxie a sedative. Maxie is talking about how she was the bad sister, and Georgie didn't deserve to die. Mac comes back. He is upset about telling Felicia as she asked him to take care of their girls. Robin tells them not to let their grief and anger consume them. Georgie wouldn't want that.

Robin shows up to see Maxie and is happy to see Felicia. Felicia hugs Robin. They have coffee and talk but Maxie is still not happy with Felicia's explanations and listens to Robin and Felicia talk with more growing resentment toward her mother. Robin tells Felicia that she understands about how difficult it is be involved in top secret government cases that help others in need and that there is a pull to want to help others and want to be with your family as well. Dillon shows up to see Maxie. Maxie hugs him hard and tells him that Georgie still loved him very much. Dillon tells her that he wished it could have been different and that he came to town to ask her if he could take her on a trip to show her some movie locations. Maxie invites him inside where he meets Felicia. He gives her his condolences and tells her that he is sorry for blowing things with Georgie when they were together. Felicia hugs him and tells him that despite what they have done that it doesn't negate the fact that they loved Georgie. Maxie rolls her eyes at Felicia's statements. Felicia tells Dillon that she has a box full of letters that Georgie sent her about how much she loved him.

At the church on the day of Georgie's funeral, Robin puts a picture of Georgie up. She comforts Mac who blames himself for Georgie's death. Robin tells Mac that Georgie was a reflection of the best of him. He's the best parent any of them could have asked for. Lainey and Epiphany tell Robin that they are there for her. Patrick comes over and asks how she is doing. She tells him fine, but then rushes off when the priest comes in to talk to Robin about some of the details. Maxie gets up to speak and says she sees the story of Georgie's life by looking at all the faces in the church. She thanks Mac for making Georgie feel special every day. He was the greatest gift to her. She thanks Dillon for showing Georgie true romantic love. She knows that she held that love in her heart until the day she died. She apologizes to both Dillon and Spinelli for not nice to them even though they loved her sister. She knows that Spinelli was Georgie's greatest friend. Georgie knew she would never be alone once she met Spinelli. Maxie also thanks Robin for being the sister to Georgie that Maxie couldn't be. Then Maxie proceeds to start bashing Felicia for not being there for them. Where was she when it mattered? Maxie tells Felicia that she can't sail into the funeral pretending to be a mom after ditching them all those years ago. Maxie tells Felicia to leave or she will leave. Felicia obliges and leaves. Robin goes to Patrick's house. She doesn't know why she's there. She just feels bad for Felicia and everyone that had to sit through Maxie's rage. Patrick holds her and she cries in his arms. They start to kiss.

Robin tells Liz that she was so distraught after Georgie's funeral that she went to Patrick and spent the night in his arms. Nothing mattered, her pride didn't matter, she just wanted to be wtih him and she would do it again if she could. Jax goes to the hospital to pay his respects to Robin over Georgie's death. Patrick sees them together and is jealous. Robin goes to her OB-GYN and tells her that she is ready to get pregnant, even if it means using a sperm bank. Robin and Carly trade insults inside the waiting area of Dr. Lee's office. Carly brings up the past again concerning Robin's past relationship with Jason and how Robin blew it when she told A.J. that Michael was his son and took him away from Jason. Robin points out that Carly had a hand in all of that as well. Carly insinuates that Robin can't keep a man long enough to have a baby because of her cold, selfish personality. Robin tells her she is out of line for getting into her own personal business. Carly tells her she made it her business by asking Jax to father her baby. Robin tells her that she is selfish for not giving Jax a baby herself. Robin storms off after telling Kelly she will talk to her later. Carly gets examined and learns she isn't pregnant and that she won't be able to conceive on her own without some medical interventions. Later, Robin gets information about sperm donor websites from Dr. Lee. Patrick watches them talking. He makes a comment to Elizabeth about how practically perfect use to be enough but not for Robin. Elizabeth tells him that if you try for a perfect life you end up with nothing. She tells him that she has learned that nothing is perfect and that it is o.k. for her right now.

Robin learns one of her patients has been taken to the ER and has Patrick paged to return to the GH Stat! Patrick and Robin are distraught after losing a patient on the operating table. Robin tells Patrick that she has had enough losses in her life, including him. They slump on the hospital floor together, share a glass of sparkling cider and commiserate with each other. New Year's Eve montage of everyone in the various celebrations.

Patrick arrives to find Nikolas getting aggressive toward Nadine and accusing her of having sex with Patrick like a lot of the other nurses do. He pushes Nadine out of his way and she falls down on the floor. Patrick gets help from Robin and an orderly who come into the room. Robin injects Nikolas with a sedative to calm him down. Nikolas is placed on a gurney to rest until the sedative wears off. He overhears Robin and Patrick talking about his condition. Patrick orders more tests and blood work and tells Robin that there is something they're missing, and wonders if it might more side effects from the poison that Jerry previously injected into Nikolas.  Later, Patrick watches Robin looking into sperm donors online.

At the hospital, Robin overhears Leyla and Patrick talking. Leyla is frustrated with how easily Patrick has gone back to doctor mode. Robin comes over after Leyla leaves and tells Patrick that she has ordered a second autopsy for their patient that they lost on New Year's Eve. Robin doesn't understand why she died and she wants to research it further. Patrick tells her that people die in their business. Robin points out how heartless Patrick can be. He never understood how hard Leyla fell for him. They leave and walk back out into the waiting area in time to hear Nikolas starting to go into a rage. He is there for the board meeting. Leyla comes over and tells Nikolas that the board meeting is being postponed. Nikolas starts going into a rage. By the time Patrick and Robin walk up, Nikolas is screaming and throwing his arms around. He knocks Robin across the room. Patrick is furious and rushes over to Robin. They all seem to realize that Nikolas had a black out.  Robin tells Patrick to stop overreacting about her fall. They're not dating anymore, so he needs to stop acting like this. She reveals that she has picked a donor to be her baby's father. He lets her walk away while he processes this information. He catches back up with her at the nurse's station and asks about the ER. Robin tells him that no one is going in or out. They are on total lock down. Robin thinks it is just a false alarm. Patrick reveals to Robin that he's going to try and bring out one of Nikolas' anger episodes.

At the hospital, Robin and Patrick disagree over treatment for Nikolas. Patrick wants to take blood when Nikolas is in the rage state. Patrick is willing to provoke him to it in order to get a sample. Robin disagrees, but eventually accedes to him under protest. She has a dizzy spell, which Patrick fears is caused by a recent fall. In an exam room, Nikolas talking to Emily.  He asks her if she knows what day it is, and then tells her he has a surprise for her at Wyndemere. Before she can answer, Patrick walks in and she disappears. Patrick starts provoking Nikolas, pointing out that this day is Emily's birthday. He speaks sarcastically about Nikolas' decadent display of wealth. His words have the desired effect and Nikolas erupts. Two orderlies quickly subdue Nikolas and take blood, which is rushed to the lab. Robin appears and tells Nikolas that she is sorry and that everything is O.K. Nikolas seems calm. Patrick and Robin believe that his episode is over, so he is released. He immediately begins raging, punches Patrick in the stomach and leaves the room. Patrick tells Robin that is he responsible and must find and subdue Nikolas before he hurts someone else. She agrees, then faints dead away.

In the locker room, Patrick comes out of the shower wrapped only in a towel. Patrick tells Robin that she needs to be lying down. She comments that he tells all women they need to lie down. He was referring to her recent collapse, though. Robin tells him that Nikolas has admitted himself into the hospital, so she has work to do. He asks her if there's a reason she's being more hostile than usual. She tells him she's not being hostile. Leyla walks over and mentions how Patrick's niceness usually is what gets women in bed for him. Robin throws up her hands and tells them she's not involved in this conversation. She gets up and starts to become dizzy. Leyla tells Patrick to bundle up. It's about to get a lot colder. Patrick comes in to see Nikolas. Emily peeks in to hear the news. The tumor is larger, but it is pressing on a part of his brain that causes dreams and hallucinations. Nikolas doesn't understand. Patrick asks him if he's seeing things that defy a rational explanation.

At the nurse's station, Kelly comes over to Robin and asks how she's feeling. Robin tells her she doesn't want to get into it. She's had enough people fussing over her today. Kelly tells her to get used to it. That's how it will be when she gets pregnant. Robin says she wants a no fuss pregnancy. She tells Kelly that she's picked a donor from the sperm bank. They talk about some tests that should be complete by now. They are going to contact the lab so Robin can get pregnant soon.

In the locker room, Leyla comes back to see Patrick. He tells her he thought there was an emergency. She tells him this is the emergency. She takes her coat off to reveal that she's only wearing panties. She walks away, while he stares. He chases after her and asks what they will do if someone comes in. She tells him some people have to sleep and some people have to sleep around. She pulls him on top of her and they start to kiss. When they are finished, they both agree that the sex was incredible. He asks what they will do now. She tells him its business as usual. She doesn't want to impede on his turn with the nursing staff. Now he thinks the sex was about revenge. She tells him it was just about pure pleasure. She can focus on her career and still sleep with a man and it means nothing.

Kelly tells Robin that she is pregnant. Robin is shocked. She insists that she has not had unprotected sex, and then remembers the broken condom on the night of Georgie's funeral when she slept with Patrick. Patrick tells Nikolas that his tumor may be causing hallucinations and details reported episodes where persons in similar circumstances had smelled and felt loved ones who were not there. Nikolas denies that he is having hallucinations, but asks to be alone. In the doctor's lounge, Robin overhears Leo and Patrick talking. Patrick admits that he is interested in Leyla because she has shown an interest in him. There is no future with Robin, he tells Leo, because she wants children and he does not. A shaken Robin does not give him the news about her pregnancy, and later insists to Kelly that they keep the pregnancy a secret from everyone for the time being. When Robin sees Patrick again, she wants to tell him, but she does not. After he leaves the lounge, a tearful Robin lies down on a bench and hugs herself.

At the nurse's station, Kelly approaches Robin about her pregnancy. Robin urges her to keep this information private. Patrick overhears her but thinks she is talking about Nikolas. Robin and Patrick argue about Nikolas. He wants to know why she did not tell him that Nikolas has decided against the surgery. She responds that it is because she has not talked to Nikolas. Patrick insists that he can save his life. Robin says that Patrick cannot just strap Nikolas to a gurney, split his head open and put another notch on the OR table like he does on his belt. She taunts him further by telling him that there is a vacant supply closet not being used on the fifth floor. Hotheaded Patrick is angry and responds that he is happy they broke up. Now he is glad that he did not get her pregnant. Robin visits Nikolas and tells him that there are no alternative treatments and that his only chance is surgery. He wants to know how to let go of something important to him.

Leyla smiles when she sees a page from Patrick, apparently suggesting another romantic rendezvous. Leyla goes to the examining room and when Patrick arrives, she is naked and waiting for him. Patrick tells her that he paged her for a consult, not a tryst and that Dr. Ford is on his way. Leyla dresses hastily and is very upset about potential damage to her career. Patrick laughs and tells her he was joking. He was playing a game, he says. Dr. Ford is gone for the day. An angry Leyla slaps Patrick, but before she can stalk out of the room, Patrick grabs her and they kiss passionately. They start to make love but a playful Leyla slips away, grabs Patrick's clothes and says, "If it's games you want, doctor, I will win." She scampers outside to the hall. Patrick opens the door and several staff members see him in the altogether as Leyla tosses his clothes in a laundry hamper. From down the corridor, a tearful Robin sees all.

Patrick gets a cold reception from Epiphany when he stops by the nurses' station to pick up some charts. Leyla is also there and explains to him that she got suspended for two weeks without pay because of their tryst in the examining room. Julian and Robin escort Liz back to her hospital bed. Elizabeth complains to them that she took a sedative that made her dreams worse and that she didn't get much sleep. Robin guesses that she is more likely suffering from post-traumatic stress than just having a dream about the fire. Julian tells Elizabeth that he will prescribe a different sedative that should help her sleep without causing any side effects. Robin tells him she will stay with Elizabeth for awhile. After Julian leaves the room, Robin locks the door and tells Elizabeth about her surprise pregnancy. Elizabeth is very happy for her and guesses that Patrick is the father since she remembered Robin telling her that she slept with Patrick after Georgie's funeral to seek comfort from him. Robin isn't sure about how she feels about producing a baby the one night she slept with Patrick. She worries that Patrick will think she planned to get pregnant by him that night when it wasn't planned at all. Elizabeth thinks that it was perfect that she got pregnant by Patrick that night because with a death came new life. Robin doesn't plan to tell Patrick about the baby even though she knows he will notice she is pregnant at some point. She thinks she will have to lie to him if he does ask her. She asks for Elizabeth's advice after admitting she is confused about what to do. Elizabeth advises her to tell Patrick the truth because the truth ends up coming out somehow anyway. She also thinks that Patrick may change when he finds out he is going to be a father.

Later, Patrick apologizes to Leyla for getting her in trouble with Dr. Ford and offers to talk to Ford himself and try to fix it. Leyla thanks him but thinks it would be better if he didn't talk to Dr. Ford because Patrick will probably be reprimanded ,also. Patrick wonders how Ford knew about their tryst. Leyla picks up some of his clothes and shows him what he left behind for Ford to find. Julian and an orderly also come by to show clothes he left behind as evidence to what he was up to. Patrick laughs it off. Epiphany tells them all to get back to work. Julian and Patrick head to the nurses' station. Julian asks Patrick if he should ask Elizabeth out for a drink sometime since he thinks she is beautiful. Patrick reminds him that Elizabeth has two children. Robin walks over to the other side of the nurses' station and hears Patrick warning Julian to stay away from Elizabeth and any single mother. He says it will complicate any relationship if kids are involved and he will not make that mistake himself since he doesn't want children in his life. Robin is hurt by what he says and she walks off wondering what she is going to do.

At the nurses' station, Patrick and the new-to-GH Dr. Devlin greet each other as old friends. Patrick shows Devlin around. When they return to the nurses' station, Patrick is quick to notice Devlin's obvious interest in Leyla. Patrick razzes Devlin about going to California to become a plastic surgeon. Devlin responds that he also did reconstructive surgery for cancer patients, which led him to his specialty, Oncology. Perhaps, suggests a rakish Devlin, he is not as shallow as Patrick thinks. Later, Ian walks over to Patrick and they talk about Leyla, and about Patrick's pants being taken away. Patrick asks him if Ian thinks he will stoop to paybacks. Leyla finishes up talking to Epiphany about a patient. When she walks past Patrick, she gives him a dirty look.

Robin and Kelly talk about men. Kelly gathers from the conversation that Robin has not told the father of her baby that she is pregnant. Robin says that the father couldn't care less. Kelly asks her how she feels about that. Later, Robin and Patrick talk about a deceased patient when suddenly a young woman is brought in and passes out. Patrick, Ian, and Leyla examine the woman. Patrick orders a CT scan. The woman says she has started passing out ever since she got pregnant. Patrick leaves and runs into Robin in the hall. She starts to say something to him, but changes her mind and leaves. Patrick overhears Ian ask Leyla out. When Ian walks out of the room, Patrick tells him that he knows the rules. Ian reminds him that Patrick put Leyla out to play. Later, Patrick talks to Epiphany about Ian. Epiphany thinks Patrick has competition with Ian. Robin comes over to show Patrick the results of their patient's autopsy. He tells her to stop obsessing over this like she's obsessing over having a baby. He tells her to go to the sperm bank already and get herself pregnant. She says she doesn't have to, because she's already pregnant. He is stunned, but happy for her. Other hospital personnel notice them hugging. Patrick announces that Robin is pregnant. Cassius congratulates him. He quickly denies that he is the father and Robin does also, even though she knows that he is.

Patrick approaches Robin at the nurse's station and she asks him why he is staring at her. She tells him she has a child inside of her, not a bomb. He says he was just wondering what he would be thinking right now if the baby were his. Robin leaves to check on Liz. She tries to get a cab for Liz, but Liz says she will be fine. Liz asks why Robin is so tense, and Robin tells Liz that she still hasn't told Patrick that he's the father. He seems to be stalking her though. Liz advises her to tell him soon if she plans on telling him at all. The sooner the better and the less mad he will be. She leaves. Robin goes back to the nurses' station. Patrick comes over to her. Robin asks him what is wrong. He says he doesn't know. She tells him when he finds out to let her know, or don't. She walks away.

Robin is disturbed to learn Nik has left the hospital. When Dr. Devlin refers to Nik's case as hopless, she calls him glib and completely transparent with women as only a friend of Dr. Drake's could be. He tells her that he has seen a patient with a tumor similar to Nik's. He questions whether Nik is having hallucinations and not telling her about them. Robin insists that Nik wouldn't lie about this. When Nik returns to the hospital, Patrick and Robin introduce him to Dr. Devlin and Patrick tells him that Dr. Devlin has joined their team.  Patrick doesn't understand why Robin has such a problem with Ian consulting on Nikolas's case. Ian overhears their conversation and tells Monica more about his experimental research. The patient is still alive, but he jokes that the patient now has webbed feet. Robin gets upset with Ian and Patrick and is even more frustrated when they can't find Nikolas. Patrick tells Ian to ignore Robin because her attitude is due to pregnancy hormones. Ian tells Robin he is going to go find Leyla in the lunchroom. When Ian leaves, Patrick apologizes to Robin for his comments. Later, Ian tracks down Patrick and asks him if Robin is going to get in their way. Patrick stands up for Robin and says he would trust her with his life. Sam has been hit by a car and Jerry brings her into GH. Patrick gets her vitals and they decide they need to do surgery. Alexis rushes in and asks what monster could have left her daughter on the side of the road.

At the nurses' station Patrick asks Robin if sperm donors are anonymous. She tells him that they are. Before they can get into further conversation, Cassius rushes in to say Epiphany has collapsed and is unconscious. Later, Leo tells Epiphany that she has had a heart attack and must begin treatment immediately. Nothing is wrong, she blusters and attempts to get up to go back to work. Leo stops her and later she agrees to the treatment.

Carly is watching newborn babies in the maternity ward of the hospital as she is pregnant with Jax's baby. Robin shows up there, sees Carly watching the newborns, and guesses she is pregnant. Carly looks at Robin's reaction and realizes she is pregnant also. Carly makes some insulting remark to Robin, who gives it right back. Carly asks Robin who would be stupid enough to agree to be her sperm donor. Patrick shows up and asks what is going on between the two of them. Carly asks Patrick about Robin's pregnancy. Robin tells her it is none of her business. Patrick admits he isn't the father. Jax returns to find out that Robin knows about Carly's pregnancy. Carly thinks Robin will tell the whole hospital about her pregnancy. Robin tells her she wouldn't do that. Jax finds out that Robin is pregnant and is excited and happy for her. He congratulates Patrick, who tells him he isn't the father. Jax asks Robin to keep Carly's pregnancy a secret for now. Robin congratulates him even though she can't stand Carly. After they leave, Robin tells Patrick that she will have to talk to Kelly about making sure that she and Carly are not visiting their doctors on the same day since the stress of being around Carly wouldn't be good for the baby. Patrick tells her to come to him if she needs anything and reminds her she has lots of friends and family to support her. Robin wonders if she is doing the right thing by not telling him he is her baby's father. Patrick returns later to find Robin watching the newborns. He hands her a small bouquet of yellow roses and wishes her a Happy Valentine's Day. Robin is touched by his gesture and agrees with him that she would like them to be friends at least.

Nikolas has a seizure while in the hospital. Elizabeth stops Patrick from administering drugs immediately because Nikolas is remembering the night Emily was murdered. Patrick hesitates for a moment, but Devlin rushes in and takes charge. After ordering drugs for Nikolas, he soundly chastises Patrick, Robin, and Elizabeth for their hesitation. Devlin after starting out as a plastic surgeon, became an oncologist. It also appears he is as well versed in neurosurgery as Patrick is and even though he has been at GH only a few days, he has enough influence to commandeer Nikolas' case from Patrick and Robin. Dr. Devlin continues to fight with Patrick and Robin over their treatment of Nikolas. Patrick stands up for Robin when Dr. Devlin makes a comment about Robin's pregnancy. Patrick tells Scott and Mac there is no good news about Logan.  Later, Patrick comes back and tells Scott that Logan has slipped into a coma.

Robin finds a gift hanging from her locker in the nurse's locker room. She is surprised to see the gift is from Patrick. He comes in and tries to get information from her, but Robin just walks away from him. Later, Nadine and Robin catch up in the locker room. Nadine tells Robin about her grandmother who used to be able to tell the sex of a baby before it was born. She would ask if the night the child was conceived was a happy or sad night for the couple, if the mother woke up on the east or west side, and what the mother ate first thing in the morning. Robin remembers all this information, but Nadine is unable to remember what any of it means. Later, Patrick reveals to Robin his good deed with Joe, the hospital bomber, and his pregnant wife. The charges are still pending, but Patrick arranged for Joe to get a new job and they waived the waiting period for health insurance. Robin is happy, but she just walks away, unable to convey her feelings. Patrick tracks her down in the locker room. She is embarrassed by her hormonal emotions. Patrick tries to tell her that the father of her baby needs to be there for her and the baby. Robin walks away again.

Patrick found Robin getting off the elevator to start her rounds. He confronted her about the baby but Robin wouldn't tell him the truth that he was the father. Joe showed up to ask Patrick for help. He thanked him again for all of his help but he needed to know what was going on with his wife Angela's pregnancy and why her doctor wouldn't tell him what was going on with her. Patrick made a flip remark about how he knew what Joe was going through, not knowing the truth about his wife so he could do something about it. Robin agreed to help as well. They both talked to Kelly Lee about Angela's pregnancy. Kelly told them that Angela had developed anemia and could be passing that on to the baby. She feared for the baby's health. Robin remembered she had a patient with anemia who had just died, even though she had taken all of her medication. Dr. Devlin overheard their conversation and asked Kelly if Angela had been taking over-the-counter cold medicine that contained some wonder drug in it. Kelly decided to check and see. Dr. Devlin explained to them that he had been researching this drug and was disturbed by its side-effects. Robin also remembered that her patient had also taken the same cold medicine. Patrick, Robin, and Dr. Devlin decided to help Kelly in the O.R. Robin and Patrick left the OR together and discussed who was going to tell the father. Robin told Patrick she would tell the father herself. Patrick got upset with her for always thinking she could do everything on her own. He asked her if that was why she hadn't told him the truth about the baby.

Robin and Patrick start to argue again but are interrupted when Dr. Devlin comes in the room. Robin leaves to talk to Joe. While she is gone, Ian and Patrick talk about Robin. Ian doesn't like her, but Patrick stands up for Robin and says she is strong, stubborn, and compassionate. Meanwhile, Robin talks to Joe about Angie's death. Nothing could have been done differently that would have saved her. Robin takes Joe to see his daughter. He talks about his wife and how he wishes she were still there with them. Robin tells him to take things one day at a time. Patrick watches the three of them. When he finds Robin in the locker room later, they talk about how Angie should have been with Joe and her daughter. It should have been a family of a mom, a dad, and a baby. Patrick asks her what she will tell her child when it asks about its father. Robin says she will deal with that when the time comes. Patrick asks who the father is. Robin tries not to answer, but Patrick asks if he is the father. Robin says yes. Dr. Ford appears with security guards that have been hired to watch Joe. Patrick overhears what is going on and tries to side with Joe. Yes, he came into the hospital with a bomb, but he was desperate.

Patrick cornered Robin in the doctors' locker room and asked her if he was the father of her baby. She finally told him the truth and said "yes." Robin went on to explain to Patrick that she did not get intentionally pregnant by him. She had already made arrangements with the sperm bank, but Georgie's death left her very needy and she came to him for comfort sex. She was not trying to use him and did not cause the condom to break. She did come to tell him to get tested, but when she overheard him tell Leo that his HIV test was negative, she was relieved because there was no reason to tell him anything. Nothing had changed. She would have the baby and raise the baby on her own, just as she had planned to do, and none would be the wiser. Robin continued to vent about Patrick's reluctance to have children and he did not disagree. Patrick admitted that he did not want a child, but now that it had happened, Patrick wanted to be part of the process. Robin told Patrick that she did not want him to act from obligation, so she rejected his reluctant offer of help and support. With very bitter words, she told him to go to some bar and find the hottest chick in the place to prove to himself that he was still eighteen. Patrick left the hospital and Robin stayed behind in tears.

Epiphany looks over paperwork at the nurse's station and comments how the hospital was falling apart without her. Patrick and Robin both walk over to Epiphany and welcome her back. It's not long before Patrick and Robin are arguing again. Epiphany mentions that nothing has changed. Patrick dares Robin to go ahead and tell Epiphany what is going on. Robin announces she can handle crying from a baby but not from the father.  Robin runs into Patrick later on and is surprised to see he is still there. They talk about their first pregnancy scare and Patrick's relief when the pregnancy test came back negative. Patrick reminds her they did actually love each other at one time. Patrick reviews Jason's injury after the bridge accident and tells him his finger is barely hanging on by a thread. There is nerve damage and if they don't operate soon, Jason will be lucky to hold even a spoon. Patrick prepped Jason for his hand surgery and warned him he might never work for Sonny again.

Robin went with Nikolas to the water sewage building. He told her that Diego must have hid Nadine somewhere in the building and he needed to try to find her. Robin worried about Nikolas' health and urged him to go back to the hospital with her. Nikolas had another hallucination and saw "Emily" again. Robin saw him look up at the stairs and start talking and realized he had been lying to Patrick and her about not having hallucinations. Nikolas yelled at her to go away and leave him alone.

Liz saw Patrick outside Jason's room and told her Jason needed rest. He saw her bring Jake to see Jason. Patrick asked her what Lucky would say about Jason seeing Jake. He immediately apologized for butting in, but Liz admitted that Lucky probably wouldn't have liked Jason and Jake seeing each other. Patrick told Liz he usually didn't get involved in his patients' business, but he was about to become a father. Patrick told her about confronting Robin and how she didn't deny that he was the baby's father. Liz said she had tried to convince Robin to tell Patrick earlier because the truth had a way of coming out. Liz questioned Patrick if he had hoped Robin would tell him he was not the father. Patrick was not sure what he wanted. He loved the baby's mother, though, and maybe a miracle would happen. Patrick and Liz hugged before Robin walked in on them. Liz told Robin she needed to get back to work and they needed to talk anyway. When Patrick told Robin what he had been talking about with Liz, Robin tried to deny he was her baby's father.

Patrick and Robin discussed the baby. Robin said she did not want her child to be an experiment, and that she feared Patrick would walk away if it got too hard or he got bored. She only wanted to think of Patrick as a sperm donor, she told him. Patrick was uncomfortable but let Robin have the last word. Robin confronted Patrick for leaving her off the surgical team. He told her it was not personal, but to protect the baby from radiation emitted by one of the devices they would be using. Robin understood and said she would wear shielding. Patrick put her back on the team. Nikolas was taken to OR. As he lay on the operating table receiving anesthetic, Emily appeared to him in her beautiful dress from the Black and White Ball. She gave Nikolas a last tender kiss before walking away.

Nikolas went "code blue" on the operating table and found Emily standing on a staircase. He and Emily walked through a door and passed through a bright light before entering a room resembling one of Wyndemere's rooms. Nikolas was surprised heaven didn't look better, but Emily told him he hadn't died. She brought him there to convince him to live.

DVD #6B  As Nik continued to refuse to break his connection with Emily, she told him that he has to, that it can't last. She tried to warn him about the tumor getting bigger and his visions of her would change and become ugly. Spencer would need him to be a part of his life. She said he would have to choose if he could have her or his son. He heard Spencer say "Daddy" and he started to come back from the brink of death. As the surgery continued, Nikolas grew uncontrollable and started thrashing around until he kicked Robin and she collapsed. Patrick found Liz and told her to page Dr. Lee because Nikolas had kicked Robin in the stomach.  Patrick was upset when he found Robin wasn't with Dr. Lee. Robin assured him that she and the baby were fine-not that it was any of his business. They argued over the baby, until Patrick asked her if she was deliberately trying to hurt him until he gave up on being a father. Robin told him no and admitted she still loved him. He also told her he still loved her.

Patrick met with Jason to go over the results of his x-rays. He told Jason that he would have at least 90% use of his hands but that there was a surgeon in Seattle who was considered the best specialist for hand surgery and he suggested that Jason meet him and consider having more treatment to regain full use of his hands. Jason agreed to meet with the doctor in Seattle. Elizabeth told him he should meet with the doctor. Lucky made her nervous when he asked her if he could take the boys out somewhere and wanted to get their car seats from her car while he was at the hospital. Elizabeth jumped in and told him she would get the car seats out of the car for him. Epiphany approached her and told her that she had a patient to attend to immediately. Lucky told her he still had an extra key to her car and could get the car seats out of her car himself. Elizabeth had no choice but to let him when Epiphany barked at her to do her job. Elizabeth went back to see Jason in his room but it was too late, he was already headed to Seattle to see the specialist.

Robin had a bad moment in the hospital locker room. Patrick noticed that Robin was nauseous from morning sickness. She immediately blamed Patrick for her stress, then ran away gagging and about to vomit. Later at the nurses' station Epiphany gave Robin advice about her morning sickness. Robin seemed to have a chip on her shoulder as she was short-tempered with everyone. When Patrick tried to consult with her, she snapped at him. Before they could get into their usual argument about the baby, Epiphany told Robin that she was needed to look after Michael. She and Michael talked about how she had known him when he was a baby.  Lulu asked Patrick about Logan's odds for recovery. Patrick gave her hope that Logan would recover. When Lulu heard about the explosion from Robin, she rushed off.  Robin tried to apologize to Patrick for her earlier behavior, but he was curt to her as he left a chart behind for her to study. Robin followed Patrick to the locker room. He told her that he did not want to argue. She told him that she was sorry, because she had realized earlier that shift that she was the biggest hypocrite of all.

Epiphany told Robin that Claudia Zacchara was in one of the emergency rooms, and Robin went in to examine her. Claudia wanted Robin to look at Johnny first, but Johnny insisted that Claudia be the one examined. Robin told Claudia she would need stitches but informed Claudia of her own HIV status before beginning the procedure. Claudia freaked out and said she didn't want Robin treating her. Patrick walked in and told Claudia she needed education on HIV, but Claudia retorted by asking him if he would want to take a chance with his own life or that of someone he cared about by letting her treat them. Patrick announced Robin was carrying his child. Robin admitted to Patrick she knew better than to lie about her child. Patrick walked into the locker room to find Robin crying on the bench. Robin commented that although Claudia's comments were ignorant, she was still worried about the risk of HIV to her baby. Patrick reminded Robin their child only had a 2% chance of contracting HIV from her, meaning the child had a 98% chance of not getting the virus. Those were better odds than a surgeon could give. Even if their child would be one of the 2%, the child would have a mother who would teach it how to deal with the virus and ignorant people. Robin told him he picked the perfect moment to be wonderful. He offered to take her home and, after contemplating, she decided to take him up on the offer. He asked her to give him enough time to pull over if her morning sickness was going to rear its ugly head.

Patrick walked into Carly's hospital room to talk about when she could be released. Carly told him she lost the baby, and he apologized and left. Outside the room, Patrick was clearly bothered by the news.  Patrick asked Epiphany to page Robin, but Epiphany said Robin wouldn't be in today. She told him not to bother calling her, because her mood swings had gone into triple overtime. Dr. Devlin walked over to Patrick and told him to leave Robin alone. If he kept this behavior up, Patrick would be going to get ice cream for Robin every time she wanted it. Later, Patrick ran into Liz and they talked about Carly losing her baby. Patrick admitted when Robin first started talking about having a baby, he was against it and didn't want a child. Now, if Robin lost their baby, he would be upset.

Patrick was worried because of Robin's severe morning sickness, but she reassured him it was normal. She came over to sign some paperwork for Claudia and Johnny and ended up giving herself a paper cut. Claudia threw another fit and refused to have anything to do with Robin or the paperwork for fear of contracting HIV. Jason came in at that time and he and Claudia noticed each other. Claudia was concerned with what he was doing at the hospital, but he told her it was none of her business. Jason later told Robin to stay as far away from Claudia as possible. A mother and two children came into the hospital, and Patrick noticed she needed some help when the older child started acting up. The mother handed her baby over to Patrick, who was clearly uncomfortable holding the infant. The baby seemed content in Patrick's arms and smiled up at him. Patrick asked both Epiphany and Robin for help, but they just smiled and told him they were busy. After the mother took her child back, Robin and Patrick talked about their own child. Robin told him he wouldn't have to hold their baby if he didn't want to, but she was glad he was the father.

Robin invited Maxie to her apartment. She wanted help decorating an area adjoining her bedroom for her baby. Robin called it a dressing room. Maxie said it was a closet. They talked about babies and all the attention that they required. Maxie was surprisingly knowledgeable. She admitted to Robin that she had done a lot of research when she had faked a pregnancy of her own. Outside at the nurse's station, Patrick spoke to Robin, who was defensive about being late, despite having taken personal time off. When Carly arrived, Robin made a comment to her about how she was suffering from morning sickness and how that must please Carly. Carly immediately told Robin that she had miscarried. Robin expressed sympathy. When Carly left to see Kelly, Patrick apologized to Robin for knowing about Carly's miscarriage and not mentioning it to her. After hearing about Carly's loss, Robin decided to take the rest of the day off. Robin took time off from the hospital and went home to practice relaxation techniques. Patrick used his key and came to see her. She told him not to barge in, but they did not argue. They had a serious conversation about Carly's miscarriage. Patrick said it was not Robin's fault, because she had never wished for Carly to miscarry, but Robin felt guilty for all her past mistakes and all the bad karma that she felt that she had built up.

Elizabeth asked Robin and Patrick when they had last seen Nikolas as a patient. Patrick told her that they hadn't talked to Nikolas since they tried to operate on him and he freaked out and refused to let them touch him. Elizabeth pointed out that Nikolas didn't look like someone whose condition was deteriorating at all and seemed to look in good health. Patrick told Elizabeth and Robin that Nikolas could be in remission. Nikolas approached them and overheard them talking about him. He told them that he didn't appreciate them talking about his condition without his permission.

Robin answered a knock and found Patrick. Her hormones were acting up. She was crying because she was holding a teddy bear and did not have mementos for the child she was carrying. Patrick pretended that he was there to consult on a case. Robin told him how sweet he was. Instead of fighting, they enjoyed each other's company, and when Patrick asked Robin if he could do anything for her, she let him get her an order of ribs, which she ate ravenously. An amazed Patrick told Robin how beautiful she was and how he was enjoying watching all the changes that were happening to her as a result of the pregnancy.

Elizabeth came into the hospital with Jake and Cameron and asked Robin if she would watch the boys while she ran a quick errand. Robin agreed and soon found herself trying to bribe Cameron to get her stethoscope back after he took it from her. Robin begged Epiphany and Patrick to help but both just looked on and enjoyed the scene. Elizabeth soon returned and saved Robin from any further agony. Elizabeth went back to work and Robin soon came over to her and complimented her on how she dealt with life as a single parent to two boys. Elizabeth admitted she sometimes felt like she was barely holding on, but it was worth it. Robin asked about the difference between raising two boys alone and when she was still married to Lucky. Elizabeth said it was definitely different, but she and Lucky were over. She couldn't go back. Robin thought Elizabeth should think about a relationship with Jason. Elizabeth was shocked at Robin's suggestion, but Robin said she knew they had a brief relationship and Elizabeth wasn't the type of person to enter into something without feelings. Robin knew how good Jason was with Michael when he helped to raise him, and she felt Jason would be good with Elizabeth's kids also. Patrick came to talk to Robin briefly about a patient's chart, and she started talking about raising their baby on their own. He asked if she had a one-track mind and mentioned wanting to take her out and not talk about babies. Robin said she did think about other things and asked what time he would be there to pick her up.

Patrick arrived at Robin's apartment to take her out on a date. Robin was upset because none of her clothes fit. She started talking about all the changes in her body. She said she felt ugly, but Patrick told her she was beautiful. They arrived at the Metro Court and tried to come up with conversation that did not revolve around Robin's pregnancy, but it was stilted. Robin continued to worry about her looks and her pregnancy. She felt guilty and insensitive when she realized that Carly had overheard her bubbling with happiness. Patrick reassured her. He started to order wine then stopped when he realized that Robin could not drink because of her pregnancy. Robin told him to order it anyway. As they read the menu, Robin excused herself and rushed to the ladies room. When she came back, Patrick wanted to leave because Robin was ill, but she assured him she was fine. When she got up to go to the ladies room again, Patrick was very worried, but she said it was only because she had to pee. Once they were back in Robin's apartment, she thanked Patrick for the evening. He told her that it was amazing to watch the pregnancy change her. Robin fell asleep on his shoulder and he tenderly kissed the top of her head.

Robin told Liz she was an inspiration for raising two kids on her own. They talked about Jason and what a good father he was to Michael. Robin said she knew Jason lost Michael because she told AJ he was Michael's father. She always hoped Jason would get the chance to be a father again, though. Liz admitted she would have been with Jason a long time earlier if she didn't have kids. Robin talked about Patrick and how he didn't know what he wanted. They changed the subject back to Jason and the violence of his life. Robin reminded Liz that she had grown up with parents with dangerous lives, and the most important thing she remembered was the love they all shared.

Patrick went to the nurses' station looking for Robin. Epiphany pointed him toward the lounge where he found Robin napping. He encouraged her to go home early, and she was on her way until the call came in about Michael. Patrick told Sonny and Carly that Michael needed surgery. Jason comforted an inconsolable Carly. Carly was allowed to see Michael alone, while he waited to be taken to OR. She urged him to hang on and reassured him of her love. In the waiting area Robin and Jason shared memories of the time that they had cared for Michael. Robin remembered how Jason had read travel books to Michael and the calming effect that reading had. Patrick pulled rank and would not let Robin participate on Michael's surgical team. He felt that her relationship to Michael, as well as her pregnancy made her too vulnerable to be objective. Robin was left speechless.

While Patrick, Robin, Epiphany, and Liz operated on Michael, once the surgery was finished, Patrick and Robin came out to tell the family that Michael would live. He said little else. Later, Patrick tried to tell Carly that although Michael survived the surgery, they did not know the extent of the damage yet. Carly didn't want to hear any bad news and said Michael would be fine. When Robin and Patrick were alone in the locker room, Patrick told Robin it would have been better if they had not done the surgery and let Michael die. The both saw where the bullet was, and they both knew Michael would never wake up. Later, Patrick told Robin that nothing had changed in Michael's condition. When Robin and Patrick came in to check on Michael, Carly asked when he would wake up. Patrick evaded answering by telling Carly that they needed to run more tests. At the nurses' station, Elizabeth overheard Patrick tell Robin that Michael would never wake up.

Patrick and Robin told Carly and Jason that Michael was in a permanent coma and wasn't expected to ever wake up. Carly refused to accept their prognosis for Michael and told them that she knew her son was doing better. Carly dismissed Robin after she told Carly that the reason that Michael's coloring was better was because his blood pressure was higher, not because he was coming out of his coma. Carly told Patrick that if he didn't believe Michael would get better she would find another doctor who did.

Patrick came into the bar and approached Diane and Alexis. Alexis asked Patrick how Michael was doing. Patrick told her that Carly had her own version of what Michael's prognosis was, and he wasn't going to argue with her. Patrick got drunk and called Robin at home. Robin guessed that he was at Jake's just by hearing the background noise. Patrick asked her if she needed anything from him, like ice cream and ribs. Robin told him she was fine but thought he was getting drunk. Patrick ended the call before she could talk to him more. Claudia approached him and offered to buy him a drink. Patrick defended Robin's decision to have a baby of her own after Claudia accused Robin of being selfish for risking giving her baby HIV. She suggested to Patrick that they could have adopted a baby or had a surrogate mother. Patrick admitted to her that he didn't want to be a father and that was why he and Robin had broken up to begin with. He told Claudia that he and Robin conceived a baby because of a ripped condom and a night of comforting each other. Claudia told Patrick that Robin probably planned the whole thing so she could get pregnant by him. Patrick defended Robin again and told Claudia that Robin wouldn't do something like that. Robin showed up at Jake's to find Claudia cozying up to Patrick.

Patrick tried to explain his relationship with Robin to Claudia. Robin told him he was wasting his time talking to Claudia. Robin asked why he was even talking to Ms. Zacchara, and he told her that Claudia wanted to thank him for saving Michael's life. Before they left, Robin and Patrick told Claudia that Michael's surgery wasn't all that successful. He was in a permanent coma. Claudia appeared bothered by the news. When Robin and Patrick got home, Patrick confided he was drinking because the thought of what Michael's father was going through was too much for him to handle. They talked about Carly, Michael, and Sonny and the choices they made. Patrick was deeply disturbed by Carly wanting to take Michael away from Sonny.

At the coffee warehouse, a tearful Sonny loaded a gun and remembered hearing Michael say, "I love you, Dad," just before he was shot. Sonny reacted menacingly when he heard a noise, but it turned out to be Robin. Sonny blamed himself for what happened and told Robin that Carly was right to keep him away from Michael. Robin tried to point out that Michel needed both his parents, But Sonny felt differently. He told her that because he instinctively pushed Kate aside, instead of protecting Michael, he had failed Michael in every way that mattered. Robin told Sonny that no one had the right to keep a father out of his child's life. Sonny continued to point out all the ways that he had failed Michael, until finally Robin asked Sonny if he knew what Michael would want. When Sonny told her that Michael would want him to be by his side, Robin told him he should do what Michael would want him to do.

Robin asked Patrick to stay with her, if he would want the company. She had a change of heart after listening to all of Sonny and Carly's troubles. She realized she was no better than Carly if she was to push Patrick away from being a father to their child. She asked him if his feelings had changed about their baby. Patrick admitted that fatherhood scared him, but their child was coming no matter what. He realized that more and more as Robin's belly was starting to poke out. Robin interpreted that as Patrick calling her fat. Patrick said she wasn't fat, just pregnant. Robin said she couldn't stop eating, and Patrick admitted he thought they were going to share their cookies. Robin said she felt like a cross between a cow and a penguin. Patrick told her she looked like poetry gliding across the floor. Robin was thrilled Patrick thought she was still pretty, and they kissed. They made love and admitted that they missed each other. Both Robin and Patrick said they loved each other, and maybe that should be enough. Patrick told her again that she was more beautiful than ever. Robin said he just liked her big boobs, and they shared a laugh.

Robin and Patrick tried to enjoy a night out together by attending the reopening of the Haunted Star. Unfortunately things did not go smoothly. Robin's feet were swollen and hurting by the time they arrived at the casino. A short time later, Robin's stomach became upset. Patrick quickly sprang into action and found something to help settle it down. Determined to have fun, Robin decided to play the roulette wheel. She couldn't decide what number to play so Patrick suggested that she pick the baby's due date. Robin quietly revealed that the baby was due on October 21. It proved to be a lucky number. Robin won a bundle and decided that it was a good time to leave. Patrick and Robin returned to her apartment, got comfortable, and curled up on the sofa with some junk food.

Michael opened his eyes, but despite Carly's best efforts, remained unresponsive. After examination, Patrick told Carly and Jax that Michael's condition was unchanged. Opening his eyes was just a reflex action. Carly was firmly fixated on Michael's recovery. An exasperated Patrick told Carly that a second opinion would back him up. She wanted one and demanded that Jax find a doctor committed to the belief that Michael would wake up. Carly continued talking to Michael and encouraging him to fight. After Robin, Patrick, and Jax left, Sam came in and tried to be nice to Carly, but Carly refused any comfort from Sam.

Jax returned to Michael's bedside and Carly continued in denial. Patrick and Robin stopped in. Patrick gave Carly a list of doctors who could provide a second opinion and informed Carly that he was transferring Michael to Robin's care during the interim. Carly went on another tirade against Patrick, when Robin told her that they were transferring Michael out of ICU, which Carly took that as a good sign. Robin defended Patrick, saying that he was just being objective and honest. She also told Carly that medical science had done all it could to help Michael and during the coming week they would need to make plans for Michael's long-term care.

Carly told Robin she was having another doctor, who had hope for Michael, come to check on him. Later when Jax asked Patrick and Robin for their opinions, the two doctors told Jax to beware of physicians who would give false hope in order to make more money. Jax asked them if they thought Michael was hopeless, and they both said yes. Jax said he would do whatever necessary to help Michael, even moving heaven and earth. He checked out both doctors, and he was confident the new doctors would be able to offer choices. Robin and Patrick felt Michael would need to be moved to Shadybrook where doctors and attendants would be able to appropriately care for Michael in his comatose state. Jax thought Carly would want to be the one caring for Michael, but Robin tried to explain that Carly wouldn't be able to take care of her vegetative son and still spend time with Morgan. After Jax left, Patrick noticed Robin had been clearly affected by the conversation with Jax about Michael. She reminded him she was the first person to hold Michael when Jason brought him home from the hospital after his birth. Later, Robin almost hyperventilated and talked to Liz about her anxiety over her unborn child. Liz assured Robin she would be a good mother and advised her to do the best she could do. That was what a mother did for her child.

Robin locked herself out of her apartment while talking to Patrick who rushed to her side after she screamed and the phone went dead. She explained that she forgot her keys and was locked out of her apartment. She also forgot to charge her cell phone. When the landlord let her in, he and Patrick laughed about "hormones" and the forgetfulness that stereotypically accompanies pregnancy. When she finally made it to the hospital, Jax was there with the European specialists he had flown in to look at Michael. She gave them the charts then left for the day and went back to her apartment. After work, Elizabeth dropped by Robin's apartment with baby clothes for her. They chatted and Elizabeth wanted to know how Robin had stopped loving Jason when they broke up. She told Robin that she had been seeing Jason in secret before Michael got shot, but since then they had realized that they had to break up because of the danger it put her and her children in. Robin said that she did not have much help to offer. She said that it took her a very long time. She had to move to Paris and ultimately it was falling in love with Patrick that did the trick. Elizabeth told her that Patrick was a great guy. Just then Patrick walked in and the ladies shared a big giggle.

Patrick was curious about Elizabeth's cryptic parting words, "No time like the present." Robin brushed it off as mommy talk, pointing out that Elizabeth had stopped by her apartment to drop off baby clothes. Patrick was skeptical. Robin relented and was on the verge of telling Patrick what her friend meant when the phone rang. It was Anna calling to let Robin know that she was coming to Port Charles. Robin tried to find out when Anna would be arriving, but the weak reception resulted in the call being dropped. Robin seemed less than thrilled at the prospect of a visit from her mother. When Patrick questioned her about it, Robin admitted that she had not told Anna about the baby. Patrick was shocked. He pointed out that she was several months along. He couldn't believe that there hadn't been an opportunity to tell Anna. Robin reminded Patrick that her mother was an international spy. Communication was spotty and there never seemed to be a right time. She was also worried about Anna's reaction to the news. In Robin's words, "How do you tell Wonder Woman that she's going to be a grandma?" At the hospital, Ian approached Patrick and said he was leaving town. Ian explained he had lost something he couldn't get back. He suggested Patrick get his life together. Patrick had a baby on the way, and he should figure out what was best for his child and its mother. Ian told Patrick to forget his fears.

Anna walked into Robin's apartment after her knocks on the front door went unanswered. Robin was in the other room and thought it was Patrick. As she made her way to the door, she yelled out, mentioning her pregnancy. Robin broke out in smiles when she found her mother, a stunned expression plastered on her face, standing in her living room.  Despite Anna's reaction, Robin welcomed her in to sit and try to calm down. Anna apologized for her shock. She was very happy about Robin's pregnancy, but she wasn't ready for the "grandmother" word yet. Robin explained how she met Stacey, an HIV-positive pregnant woman at the hospital who died shortly after giving birth. Robin decided after that experience that she also wanted to be a mother. Patrick wasn't ready to be a father, so they split up. They had a one-night stand after Georgie's death, and Robin became pregnant unexpectedly. Robin didn't tell Patrick at first, but he figured out he was the father of her baby. The conversation was interrupted when Patrick knocked on the door. Anna opened the door for him and hugged the father of her daughter's baby. Patrick mentioned his plans for getting a beer, and Anna thought that was an excellent idea. Robin suggested Patrick get them a table at Jake's, while she and Anna freshened up. After Patrick left, Anna took a phone call and told Robin she had to go. Anna promised she would be back soon and rushed out the door. Robin showed up at Jake's just in time to hear Patrick telling Coleman how hot Robin's mother was.

Patrick was having drinks at Jake's and telling Coleman how "hot" Robin's mother, Anna, was. Robin overheard all and confronted Patrick. She was sort of kidding as she got Patrick to admit that he thought Anna was a cross between Lara Croft and Emma Peel. Coleman gave Robin some nice compliments and Patrick got jealous. He and Robin moved to a table where she continued to tease him and he tried to dig himself out of his predicament. When Kelly and Lainey showed up to join their conversation, Patrick was outgunned, so he decided to leave the girls to gossip among themselves. Robin bemoaned being fat and ordinary, instead of sexy and exciting like Anna. Her friends commiserated with her.

Anna assured her daughter that Robin was still hot. Robin understood that her mother was having a hard time adjusting to the "grandmother" word. Anna said she needed to get some air, and left to go to the Haunted Star. She walked into the casino to find Luke and Tracy arguing over Luke's safety. Tracy tried to tell Anna they were closed, but Luke offered her a high stakes game. Tracy asked Anna if she was retired, but Anna declared she was very much on top of her game. When Luke walked over to ask Anna why she was out gambling, she confided she was going to be a grandmother. Anna and Luke prepared to play Naked Roulette while Luke gave Anna advice in dealing with her daughter.

Sonny entered the room to await Michael's test results, and Patrick came in shortly after. He told Michael's parents that Michael had a one in ten thousand chance of Michael waking up because he did still have brain waves. Patrick came back to Robin's place where he told her about his conversation with Sonny and Carly. It affected him deeply having to tell Michael's parents what they were facing with the living death of their child. He had always thought of parenthood as dirty diapers, chicken pox, and whiny brats. He was now thinking about parenthood differently, though. Robin tried to tell Patrick not to allow fear to scare him off. For every child that was injured, there were others that were fine. They were interrupted by a knock at the door. It was Tracy, telling them Anna was at the Haunted Star.

An inebriated Luke and a tipsy Anna played strip roulette on the Haunted Star, then set up a hanging swing. Anna reclined in the swing, while both she and Luke admitted that they did not want to get older. They were quaffing shots of liquor when Robin, Patrick, and Tracy arrived on board. Robin and Patrick convinced Anna to go home, leaving Luke with a disgruntled Tracy. After they got back to Robin's apartment, Anna complained of a sore back and talked to Robin about her fears of becoming a grandmother. Robin said that she was glad Anna was there, even if she was hanging upside down drunk in a swing, because Robin needed her mother. They discussed their fears. Robin told about her fears of pregnancy and Anna's dangerous job, and Anna worried about getting old and Robin's health. Robin was grateful when Patrick arrived with food, but Anna wanted to know when Patrick and Robin were getting married.

Robin was mortified and tried to explain that her mother was having a nervous breakdown. Anna felt they should get married since Robin and Patrick clearly loved each other. Their happiness was important to her, and they did have a bun in the oven. Patrick pointed out that he preferred to call it a muffin in the oven, but Anna didn't get the joke. Patrick left to get a drink from Luke, who offered him another after Patrick explained the conversation with Anna. Patrick tried to get some advice from Luke and mentioned moving to the "burbs." Luke offered the Spencer house to Patrick. If Patrick wanted to move in, Luke would ask Lucky to move out. The house wasn't special without Laura there anymore. Luke was reluctant to dish out any relationship advice, though. He only stated that relationships would not work with people who wanted different things. Meanwhile, Robin tried to explain to her mother how she first met Patrick. Anna thought Patrick had changed, but Robin said she didn't want to make a wrong decision and make her child pay for the consequences later. Robin wanted Anna to speak with Patrick, but Anna had to delay the conversation after receiving an urgent text message.

Elizabeth invited Robin and Patrick to Jake's first birthday party. Robin took Patrick aside and apologized for Anna's behavior the day before, when Anna had asked Patrick when he and Robin would marry. Robin explained that she had set Anna straight-that in fact Anna now understood that they would never marry. Patrick said little and the conversation turned to Nikolas' upcoming surgery. Instead of being angry that she had been pulled from the surgery team, Robin was relieved and thanked Patrick. She left for Jake's party. Patrick performed surgery on Nikolas, who survived. Patrick commented that if Nikolas had waited only one more week to have the surgery, it would have been too late. Bobby, Robin, Lulu, Elizabeth, and Cameron gathered in the park to celebrate Jake's birthday. Johnny stopped by and spoke with Lulu, then left. Patrick also came to the party, but stayed to enjoy the festivities and familial atmosphere.

Robin and Patrick talked in a corner of the nurses' lounge, while Epiphany and Liz listened. Robin tried to explain that she was looking for answers Patrick couldn't give her, like how to shave her legs when she was so pregnant you couldn't reach them. Patrick mentioned that any advice would fall on deaf ears, anyway, because Robin would always do what she wanted. They continued to talk as they worked. When they rounded the corner and arrived back at the nurses' station, Liz had a web address for Robin where experienced mothers gave advice. Robin thanked her, but as she prepared to get on the elevator, Robin told Patrick she had been determined to live her pregnancy and not always do what others suggested. She thought maybe she should do an online diary, in addition to her blog. Patrick thought it would be more fun for Robin to express her concerns to him, but Robin hadn't thought that was a very good idea. Robin went home and started her video blog, saying she wanted to create something for all the single, pregnant women out there. They were all in it together, so they should share their experiences. She was thankful her nausea was over, but she was so hungry that she was upset there were only four food categories. Robin wanted to make sure she didn't gain too much weight, though, especially because the father of her baby already mentioned her mother was hotter than her.

Robin was on duty at General Hospital when Patrick brought her a giant monkey for the baby. He told her that he was still nervous about being a father, but he was happy for her and wanted to participate in the who experience. Patrick worries that he would not be a good father. Robin told Patrick that she was "cautiously optimistic" and Patrick said he was "cautiously optimistic," also.  Robin dropped by Jason's place to give him a globe, which had been left behind in Michael's room, that she was sure had been purchased by Jason. Jason had real tears in his eyes as he told Robin that she had been right all those years ago when she and Monica had warned him about the possible results of his violent lifestyle. Robin comforted him and told him that he also gave Michael the two most important things a parent could give a child: a sense of self-worth and unconditional love. Before leaving, she told him that he had to balance the bad with the good.

Kelly and Robin were chatting in the visitor's area of the hospital while Patrick lurked nearby and eavesdropped on their conversation. When Kelly mentioned how popular Robin's blog had become, Patrick decided to reveal his presence. He wanted to know what Robin had been saying about him on the blog. Robin was evasive. She said that she had only mentioned Patrick in passing and then walked away before he could question her further. Patrick didn't believe Robin so he turned to Kelly for answers. Kelly wasn't able to duck Patrick's questions as easily as Robin did. She warned Patrick that he would not like what he would see on Robin's blog, but Patrick was like a dog with a bone. He demanded to see the blog. Kelly tried her best to talk him out of it, but failed. Reluctantly, she brought up the blog on one of the hospital's computers. The video shown was of Robin ranting about Patrick's faults. Kelly turned it off before he could see the worst of the rant. Unfortunately, he saw enough that he decided to start his own video blog. Patrick went to Jake's and enlisted Coleman's help to film the first entry for his blog. Patrick intended to speak to all of the fathers who weren't ready for parenthood when they learned that they had a baby on the way, but were willing to take responsibility for their children.

Robin was filming a new blog entry when someone began knocking, rather incessantly, on her front door. Robin assumed it was Patrick and said, "I'm busy. Go away." When Robin answered the door, she was pleasantly surprised to see her mother. Anna brought scones for tea time with Robin. Cocktails were more Anna's style, though, so Robin was curious what was going on with her mother. Anna said she was just beginning to face reality and suggested a desk job might be a good change for her new status of grandmother-to-be. Robin didn't think that was a good idea. Anna continued talking about how she couldn't go around "kung-fooing" everyone. Meanwhile, Anna was trying to open the jar of jam. Her pregnant daughter took the jar and opened it for her when Anna couldn't. They were interrupted when Anna's phone rang. She promised her daughter she wouldn't be running off after taking the phone call, like in the past. When Anna answered, she discovered it was Chip, the manager for Eli Love. The rock star was in Rio and had two days off. He had two back stage passes for Anna and wanted her to join him. Anna thanked him for the offer, but said she couldn't go. When she said goodbye, Robin asked her what was wrong with her for not taking the incredible offer.

Later, when Patrick and Robin arrived home, she asked why he had brought his laptop to Jake's. Robin inquired if he had been hanging out with Spinelli. Patrick said no and came clean about his blog. She wanted to look at it, and Patrick and Robin soon discovered Patrick's blog was video of women shooting pool thanks to Coleman. Both Patrick and Robin agreed not to look at each other's blogs and kissed. Patrick and Robin watched Patrick's first blog entry on his laptop. Patrick was prepared for Robin to yell at him, but she surprised him instead. Robin apologized for not understanding and paying attention to Patrick's feelings. Patrick confessed he was curious about his child's looks and personality. He was looking forward to meeting his child for the first time. When Patrick commented on Anna's scones, Robin mentioned how surprised she was at her mother's swing from one end of the spectrum to the other. Patrick admitted he wasn't sure how he was going to deal with parenthood, but Robin reminded him they would deal with things as they progressed. They sat talking and eating ice cream until suddenly Robin felt the baby kick. The baby was responding to Patrick's voice. He continued talking and felt Robin's stomach until he also felt their baby kicking.

Robin visited Maxie, who told her what had really happened with Spinelli. They share a few laugh, as Maxie assured Robin that she was not attracted to Spinelli sexually. Sam dropped by Spinelli's place and gave him the bad news-he had not had sex with Maxie. Spinelli was distraught that all the advice he had received from his male heroes was useless. Sam told him that if he wanted to do well with women, he should get advice from a woman and she was just the woman to help him.
