#7A Patrick
was upset as he listened to Robin and Kelly talk about the bloggers from
Robin's site. All the posts seemed to think Patrick was a loser and a
dead-beat dad. The bloggers, mostly women, had apparently been to
Patrick's site and decided to comment on Robin's site. The expectant
fathers, who Patrick's website had been created for, were silent and
unfortunately not commenting. A fuming Patrick left the hospital and went
to Jake's, where he called Spinelli. Poor Spinelli had brought flowers to
Maxie at work, but she couldn't accept the flowers for fear of ruining
Kate's ambiance. He made several comments to Maxie about liking her, but
she wasn't understanding, and called him her best friend. Spinelli (and
his flowers) arrived at Jake's, where Patrick promised help with
Spinelli's dating skills. Patrick asked a favor of Spinelli first, though.
Soon, Spinelli was talking to a girl in the bar and making great progress.
Meanwhile, Robin called Maxie to the hospital for an
"emergency." Robin asked Maxie to read one of the thousand
negative posts she received in the last half-hour on her site. As soon as
Maxie read the post, she asked Robin why Spinelli was blogging on Robin's
motherhood site.
Robin called Maxie to the hospital and showed her the 1,000 negative
responses to her blog that she thought had been sent by Spinelli at
Patrick's instigation. Maxie agreed to talk to Spinelli. At Jake's bar,
Coleman and Patrick looked on as Spinelli talked smoothly about flowers
with a beautiful young woman. Just as it seemed that Spinelli was about to
score her phone number, the woman's female lover appeared. Spinelli was
very disappointed with his effort at wooing. Patrick paid off Coleman
after losing his bet that Spinelli would get the girl. Maxie arrived on
the scene and confronted Spinelli about the spam on Robin's blog. Spinelli
readily admitted his complicity and erased the offending emails. Maxie
marched over to Patrick and told him to grow up and stop complaining
because it was upsetting Robin. Patrick responded that it was easy for
Maxie to say because she was not the one getting trashed on Robin's blog
every day. Maxie flippantly reminded Patrick that she was also not the one
who got Robin pregnant. Then she told him to "deal with it."
Patrick went to the hospital and apologized to Robin. Patrick was back at
the bar when Robin stormed in and accused him of sending another 934
negative emails. This time Patrick firmly declared his innocence to a
skeptical Robin.
Robin and Patrick sat at Jake's talking about the negative feedback that
Robin had received on her blog. Robin was stunned by the cruelty of
strangers. Coleman and Patrick tried to convince Robin to ignore the harsh
words that were directed at her. Unfortunately, Robin wasn't able to let
it go. She felt that shutting down her blog would only give her detractors
a victory. She went home and began taping a new blog entry. While she
talked, she admitted that she had been harsh in judging Patrick. She was
interrupted when Patrick knocked on her front door. He realized
immediately that she had been taping another video for her blog. He was
worried about Robin and how hard she had taken the criticism. He asked
Robin why she believed what a bunch of people, who had never met her, said
but ignored the father of her child who loved her? Robin admitted that she
had been having a difficult time with the emotional aspect of her
pregnancy and had been unfair to Patrick. Patrick felt that Robin was
being too hard on herself, especially after she showed him the video that
she had been recording just before he arrived. Robin was touched by
Patrick's support and the two kissed. Maxie called Robin but got her
voicemail instead. She apologized to her cousin for Spinelli's role in
helping Patrick spam Robin's blog then ended the call.
At the nurses' station, Robin and Patrick were trading barbs about each
other's blogs, when a man arrived to see Dr. Ford. He knew Robin from the
time when she had been involved in the care of his pregnant, HIV positive
wife. The woman died during childbirth and the man, noting Robin's
pregnancy and knowing that Robin was HIV positive, warned Patrick if
Robin died, that Patrick would be entirely responsible for the child's
care. Patrick interrupts that HIV had nothing to do with his wife's death.
Later, in the staff lounge, Elizabeth comforted a tearful Robin, who
worried about the effects of HIV on her pregnancy, even though as a
medical professional, she knew that HIV was not a deterrent to a
successful pregnancy. She also wanted to make arrangements for her child
in case something happened to her. She was afraid it would be too much for
Mac to handle. Elizabeth gently suggested that Patrick would be the
logical choice since he was the father but Robin did not want to force the
responsibility on Patrick, who she thought was a reluctant participant.
Later, Robin eavesdropped as Elizabeth gently probed Patrick about his
intentions toward Robin and his child.
Elizabeth and Patrick talked about parenthood and the role a father had in
a child's life. Robin walked in while they were talking. She thanked
Elizabeth for her friendship but told Patrick that Elizabeth was wrong.
Robin was quite vocal about raising her child alone as a single parent.
Patrick seemed annoyed by Robin's attitude and walked out of the break
room. Later in the locker room, Robin once again thanked Elizabeth for
trying to talk to Patrick about the baby. She admitted that she had given
Elizabeth reason to believe that Robin wanted Patrick to be involved with
their child but reiterated that Patrick did not want to be a father.
Elizabeth told Robin that she felt that Robin was not giving Patrick
enough credit. After Robin left the hospital, she went home to record
another blog entry. She was interrupted when Patrick stopped by to talk to
her about the baby. Patrick felt that they needed to decide once and for
all what his role would be after the baby was born. Robin tried to listen
but she was distracted by hunger and cravings. She asked Patrick if he
would mind picking up a pizza. When Patrick returned to the apartment with
the food, he found Robin on the floor. She had collapsed and was
unconscious.
Patrick was frantic as he watched Robin get wheeled away at the hospital.
He wanted to leave to check on patients but Liz sat down with him in the
waiting area and asked what the baby meant to Patrick? He was not sure
this was the time to discover what his unborn child meant to him. Patrick
was relieved when he was quickly called into Robin's room. She had an
incompetent cervix, so a small procedure would need to be done and she
would need a few days of bed rest. Robin wasn't sure bed rest was really
necessary, but Patrick assured Kelly he would wait on Robin hand and foot.
Once they were alone, Robin told Patrick the scare had proven they could
do it and would pull through. She corrected herself and said SHE could do
it and pull through. Patrick said he was in it for the long haul and he
would not be leaving her.
At Robin's apartment, Robin and Patrick bonded over their baby. As Patrick
tended to Robin's needs, she admitted that she was really glad that
Patrick wanted to care for her and the baby. Patrick admitted to Robin how
important she and the baby were to him. Their tender moment was
interrupted by Mac, who insisted that Robin move back home with him. He
called Patrick a womanizer who played at being a brain surgeon. Patrick
was rightfully insulted, but Robin defused the situation and both she and
Patrick assured Mac that Patrick wanted to take care of Robin and was, in
fact, taking care of her. Mac left, a little less disgruntled than when he
arrived. Robin and Patrick shared more tender words between then. She told
him how wonderful he was and how lucky she felt to have him. He told her
how much he wanted to be part of her life and their baby's life.
They were laughing and crying when they heard loud pounding on the door.
When Patrick opened it, Epiphany was there. She told Patrick that he could
leave. She brought in her bags and announced that Mac had hired her to
take care of Robin and her unborn child around the clock until the child
was delivered. Both Robin and Patrick were incredulous. Patrick was
frustrated when his attempts to talk to Robin were thwarted by Epiphany.
Epiphany was determined that Robin would get the bed rest that she needed
in order to recover. Restricting phone calls from Patrick was one of
Epiphany's methods. Later, Patrick managed to sneak into Robin's apartment
while Epiphany was on an errand for Robin.
At Robin's apartment, Robin and Patrick plotted ways to keep Epiphany
occupied and out of their hair, so that they could spend time together.
They didn't have long to plot as Epiphany soon returned to Robin's
apartment and found Patrick huddled with Robin on the sofa. Patrick jumped
to his feet and immediately put his plan into action. He played on
Epiphany's desire to get back at Dr. Ford by asking her to double check
the charts of the patients who were dispensed the wrong doses of
medications. After Epiphany left, Robin and Patrick felt bad for sending
her on a wild goose chase. It turned out that Epiphany realized what they
had done and returned to the apartment. By then, Robin had decided to set
a few ground rules, starting with Patrick being allowed to visit. Epiphany
wasn't inclined to argue. She told them that they should have found their
backbone sooner, reminded the lovebirds that they were adults who were
about to become parents, and then left the apartment with her suitcase in hand.
A short time later, Mac had gotten wind of Epiphany's sacking and stormed
over to Robin's. She panicked and asked Patrick to hide. Reluctantly,
Patrick agreed and stepped into the closet. Robin invited her uncle in.
Mac didn't waste any time. He began listing all of Patrick's faulted
faults and then insisted that Robin move into Mac's home. Robin refused.
She told Mac that she wanted Patrick by her side. Mac refused to even
consider it and started in on Patrick again. In the closet, Patrick
listened until he'd had enough and stormed out to confront Mac. Patrick
told Mac that he loved Robin and their baby and had no intention of
stepping aside. Mac responded by placing Patrick under arrest for stalking
and handcuffing him. Mac took Patrick to the station. Robin called Maxie
and asked for her help in dealing with Uncle Mac. Maxie and a
wheelchair-bound Robin arrived at the police station and demanded Patrick
to be set free. A reluctant Mac agreed, and Robin and Patrick went home.
Robin showed Patrick how she was planning to convert her dressing area
into the baby's nursery. Patrick was astounded she would try and squeeze
the baby's room into such a small space. After measuring the crib, there
was only two inches to spare in the room. Patrick asked Robin to move in
with him. He wanted to be closer to her and the baby, and his apartment
had more room. Robin couldn't believe he was asking for this type of
commitment.
At Robin's, Patrick tried his best to convince Robin to move in with him
before the baby was born. Robin was hesitant. She didn't want Patrick
committing himself to something that he wasn't ready for. Patrick insisted
that he wanted to build a life with her and the baby but Robin remained
unconvinced. She felt that Patrick was still reeling from finding Robin
collapsed on the living room floor. Robin also admitted that she didn't
relish the idea of Patrick using the baby as a test run for fatherhood.
Patrick thought that what Robin really feared was committing herself to
Patrick. He told her that he didn't want to keep having the same argument
with her but he refused to give up on them. He wanted to be a part of
Robin and the baby's lives. While Patrick went to the kitchen to fetch
something for Robin to drink, Robin placed a frantic call to Elizabeth,
asking her for help. A short time later, Elizabeth knocked on Robin's
door. When Patrick opened it, Elizabeth pretended to be at her wit's end
and in desperate need of a babysitter for Jake. Before Patrick could say
anything, Elizabeth put Jake in his arms, set Jake's diaper bag on the
sofa, and then left the apartment. Robin did her best to try and hide her
smile during the entire exchange.
Liz picked up Jake from daycare and took him to Robin's apartment at
Robin's request. Robin wanted to see how Patrick dealt with caring for a
baby. She was amused to watch Patrick as he struggled. Robin saved him
from feeding Jake after he successfully changed a diaper, though. When Liz
arrived to pick up Jake, Patrick made the girls come clean about their
scheme. He knew they had planned it out and had called Jake's daycare to
confirm his suspicions. Although reluctant at first, Liz gave her advice
to the soon-to-be parents. Liz realized not every man was cut out to be a
dad, but it would be important for Robin and Patrick to communicate so one
would not expect more than the other was willing to give. After Liz left,
Patrick commented to Robin that Liz was very smart and he had forgotten
how much real life experience she had. He thought Robin had handled the
situation very well, though, since Liz had sided with him. Robin thought
that comment was funny,
because she felt Liz had sided with her.
Robin argued with Patrick about his part in her pregnancy. Despite
Patrick's repeated attempts to involve himself with Robin and the baby,
and his obvious concern for Robin's health and welfare and that of their
unborn child, Robin continued to refuse Patrick's pleas to form a family
with her and the baby. Robin was so fearful that Patrick might eventually
abandon their child that she told him it would be better for the child not
to know him at all. Patrick was hurt, but continued to try to persuade
Robin that he wanted to be part of a family, but Robin would not allow
that Patrick could change. In her opinion he was the archetype bachelor.
He told her that she needed him. She said that she could manage just fine
without him. When Patrick answered a knock at the door, it was Maxie.
Robin had called her to come stay over and tend to her. Patrick tried
again to explain that his attitude had changed. He begged Robin to allow
him into her life and the baby's life, but Robin remained selfish and
unconvinced as she sent a very dejected Patrick away and told him to go
back to his bachelor ways because she did not need him or want him to
share in her baby's life.
Robin was determined to get to work after Kelly cleared her from bed rest.
Patrick greeted her at the door with breakfast and hot chocolate. The two
started arguing over Patrick's unwillingness to be a father prior to
finding out Robin was pregnant. Patrick agreed he made some dumb comments
previously, but he was trying to grow up. Robin's mother interrupted them
when she walked in and told them she could hear them arguing all the way
down the hall. Anna felt Patrick should leave, so he left after Robin
agreed with her mother. Later, Robin sneaked out while her mother was on a
phone call. When Robin arrived at work, she chatted briefly with Liz
before Patrick interrupted them. He presented Robin with a court petition
for visitation rights to his unborn child. Robin was furious, but Patrick
pointed out that bonding with a child happened even before birth. Patrick
asked Liz for her opinion, but she refused to be a part of their argument.
At the nurses' station, Patrick served Robin with court papers. Robin kept
insisting that Patrick did not want to be a father. Elizabeth listened in
as Robin said that she did not understand why Patrick did not take a free
pass and walk away. Patrick insisted that he had changed. He vowed that
his love for Robin had not diminished. He begged her to let him be a
family with her and their unborn child. When Robin again demurred, he told
her that he had hired Diane as his lawyer and he was determined to get
visitation rights with his child. Before he could say more, Anna Devane
appeared and hurled him to the floor. Anna wanted answers from Patrick.
When he told her how he really felt-that he wanted to be part of a family
with Robin and their child-Anna understood. She told Patrick that Robin
got her stubbornness from her father, Robert. She also told Patrick that
Robin was scared because Robin's father had not been around and perhaps
Robin thought a father was someone who dropped in occasionally. Patrick
said that he too had grown up with an absent father and he wanted
something different for his child. Anna asked if that was because Patrick
wanted to prove something to his father. Patrick said "No." He
wanted to prove something to his child. It was clear that Anna approved of
his answer.
Back at the nurses' station, Robin assumed that Elizabeth agreed with her
about keeping Patrick away from the baby. When she tried to commiserate
and get some support, Elizabeth shared her experiences and told Robin that
she did not agree with Robin because a court battle would not be in the
best interest of the child. She also told a stunned Robin that despite the
divorce, Lucky spent as much time with their children as he had when
Elizabeth was married to him. She went on to tell Robin that if a man like
Patrick came into her life she would be glad to have him as part of her
family. Robin was still digesting Elizabeth's words when Diane approached.
When Diane suggested that Patrick had rights, Robin seemed inclined to go
to court. Anna overheard as she and Patrick joined the group and quipped
that if the case went to court, she would have to testify. Robin smugly
said, "Thanks, Mom." Her face fell when Anna added, "For
Patrick."
Robin could not believe her mother was siding with Patrick and had agreed
to testify on his behalf. Diane reminded Patrick he could drop the
charges, but he did not seem inclined to do so. Later, Robin met with
Alexis and asked her to take the case. Alexis agreed to be Robin's lawyer
but said it was always easier when parents got along. Anna showed up, and
Robin explained to Alexis that Anna would be testifying on Patrick's
behalf. After Alexis left, Anna stuck around while Robin went to bed.
Patrick showed up and Anna let him in. He wanted advice on how to get
Robin to understand he wanted to be with her and the baby. Anna admitted
Robin's emotional problems were her and Robert's fault. If Anna was able
to convince Robin to move in with Patrick and he ended up hurting her,
Anna would show Patrick the type of special agent she was at work. Robin
dropped in to visit Sonny. They talked about Robin's pregnancy and Sonny's
impending marriage to Kate. Robin told him that she hoped that he and Kate
would be happy together. They discussed his grief over Michael and her
grief over Stone's death several years before and what it took to recover
from such devastating life events.
Robin came home to find Anna measuring the windows for bulletproof glass.
She also mentioned to her daughter that great strides were being made with
Kevlar curtains. Robin reminded her mother that Patrick was the father of
her child, not Sonny or Jason. Anna was just trying to keep her family
safe, despite the heavy mob influence in Port Charles. They sat down to
talk and Anna explained her thoughts on Robin's behavior. Anna realized
Robin had no control over her HIV status, but the one thing she could
control was Patrick's relationship with their unborn child. Apparently,
these comments had hit too close to home, as Robin left and said she
needed to get some air. Robin went to Kelly's for takeout and ran into
Jason. She asked him for some advice, like he used to give her when they
had dated. Robin explained what had been going on with Patrick, and Jason
did his best to understand. He pointed out the pregnancy had changed Robin
and it could very likely also change Patrick. They stopped talking
suddenly when Liz started to walk into Kelly's and stopped when she saw
them.
Patrick talked to Epiphany about who could assist him on a surgery when
Noah walked in and asked if he could participate. The two chatted very
briefly about Noah's work abroad before Patrick agreed to let his father
assist with the surgery. During the surgery, Noah asked if Patrick and
Robin were getting along any better. Patrick mentioned Robin's hormones
from pregnancy and Noah was shocked to hear the news. After the surgery
was over, Noah mentioned he hoped Robin wasn't relying on Patrick to be a
hands-on father. Patrick was stunned and upset by his father's comments.
When the lawsuit was brought up, Noah offered to testify on Robin's
behalf.
Outside Kelly's, Robin thanked Jason for his insights about Patrick. When
Elizabeth arrived on the scene, Jason excused himself and noted that it
was dangerous for anyone to be seen in the open with him. As he departed,
he told Robin that if Patrick really cared for Robin and her unborn child,
he would do whatever was best for the child. Robin seemed to listen.
Elizabeth sat down to talk with Robin. Robin persisted in thinking that
Patrick did not really want to be a father. Elizabeth asked Robin if
Patrick was truthful with her. When Robin said, "Yes," Elizabeth
asked Robin why she could not allow herself to believe him. She asked
Robin to at least consider the possibility that things would work out with
Patrick.
Patrick, Anna, and Noah discussed the impending court trial. Noah insisted
that he would testify for Robin if Patrick did not call off the court
hearing immediately. Anna said that she would testify for Patrick. The
three were still arguing when Robin returned to her apartment. When Noah
said that Patrick would be a rotten father, Robin defended Patrick. Noah
said that Patrick only had him as a role model and that he had been a bad
father to Patrick. Anna said it was about control issues for Robin. Robin
said that it was not about Noah or Anna, it was about how Robin and
Patrick could best raise their child. Robin chastised Noah for his
demeaning comments about Patrick. A hopeful Patrick was crushed when Robin
reiterated that she did not think that fatherhood was what Patrick really
wanted. She said that she loved and respected Patrick and believed that he
believed that he could be a father to their child, but she had been
prepared to raise her child alone and she was still prepared to do so, and
that was what she would tell the judge in the upcoming custody trial.
Robin and Anna were having breakfast before they were scheduled to appear
in court for the custody hearing, when Patrick, and then Noah, dropped by.
Patrick brought Robin her favorite pastries, while Noah was there to offer
Robin moral support. Anna took the opportunity and tried to get Patrick
and Noah to work through their issues. It did not go well. Noah was
convinced that Patrick was inherently unable to be a good father to his
child because of the kind of father that Noah had been. Noah warned his
son to walk away from his baby before he ended up with a mountain of
regret, like Noah. After Noah left, Robin asked her mother to leave as
well. Robin wanted to talk to Patrick. When they were alone, Robin told
Patrick that he was a better man than Noah gave him credit for. Patrick
chuckled, without humor, and pointed out that Robin just didn't think he
was good enough to be a father to their baby. Before Robin could respond,
Patrick went on to tell her that he loved her and their baby and that was
why he had to go through with the custody petition.
Robin and Patrick arrived at the courthouse with their attorneys, and
Robin was upset when it appeared the trial could get ugly. Noah and Anna
both arrived and said they would not be able to testify. When the trial
started, Patrick took the stand and declared his love for Robin and the
baby. Although he had not wanted to be a father initially, he loved Robin
and the baby and wanted to be a part of his child's life. Robin stood up
to apologize and stopped the trial. She told Patrick he could see her and
the baby anytime he wanted. Outside the courtroom, Noah said he was proud
of his son for spilling his guts on the stand. Meanwhile, Anna pushed
Robin to talk to Patrick, especially after the public announcement. Robin
decided to take her mother's advice and approached Patrick. She told him
she was happy he wanted to be a father to their baby, and they both told
each other they loved one another. They all thought Robin, Patrick, and
the baby would make a wonderful family. They were interrupted when Anna
received a text message from Eli Love. He would be coming to town, but
Anna was disappointed she could not be with him as much during this tour
because she was preparing to be a grandma.
At the hospital, Anna talked to Patrick and Robin about Eli Love's
arrival. Although the concert would be great fun, Eli didn't know that his
favorite groupie was about to be a grandmother. Epiphany seemed annoyed at
all the commotion Eli was causing, and Cassius was annoyed because
everyone knew Eli Love was there before he had known. When Eli finally
entered the hospital, Robin hid from him behind the nurse's station. Eli
kept asking for her, but Robin was determined to stay out of sight. When
Kelly saw her, she thought Robin might need a shrink for her
pregnancy-induced stress. Robin did her best to explain the situation and
asked for help in getting out of the hospital.
Anna dropped in to visit Robin at her apartment. Robin could tell that
Anna and Eli had been together. Anna was jazzed because she had been a fan
of Eli's for a long time and it made her very happy to know that he
enjoyed spending time with her. Anna thanked Robin for not letting Eli
know that Robin was pregnant. She went on to tell Robin that she was not
sorry that Robin was pregnant and she was very happy for Robin. She was
also happy for herself. She said that she did a lot of things wrong when
Robin was growing up and she wanted to make up for that. Anna said that
she was looking forward to being a grandmother and she felt silly for not
telling Eli. Robin said that she understood and that she loved Anna and
wanted her mother to be happy. She told Anna that she did not want her to
be a stereotypical grandmother. Robin wanted Anna to just be herself.
Robin said any child would be lucky to know Anna. Robin said that she
certainly felt that way about her
life with Anna.
Patrick and Robin snuggled on her sofa, and talked about Anna's issues
with the word grandmother. Robin believed that it stemmed from fear of the
unknown and then realized that Patrick faced the same kind of fear about
fatherhood. As they talked, Robin admitted that it was easier to
understand her mother's fear because Robin knew that Anna would always
love her. Patrick took the opportunity to tell Robin that she and the baby
were everything to him and that he couldn't imagine his life without them.
Robin smiled and then announced that the baby wanted cheese fries from
Jake's.
When Robin and Patrick walked into Jake's, Eli spotted the couple and
invited them over. Eli took one look at Robin as she approached him and
realized that she was pregnant. Anna confessed that she and Robin had been
trying to hide the pregnancy from Eli because of his rock star status. Eli
smiled and told Anna that she was an exciting, kick-ass woman. He would be
crazy to walk away from her because she was going to be a grandmother.
Later, as Anna and Eli were playing pool, his manager brought in a
journalist to interview Eli. When she mistook Anna for Eli's girlfriend,
Eli explained that his girlfriend was in Sydney on a photo shoot and that
Anna was an old friend. To Anna's horror he then told the woman that Anna
was about to be a grandmother. Patrick was offended on Anna's behalf. He
marched up to Eli and punched him in the face.
At the hospital, Anna and Robin had a heart-to-heart talk after Eli's
immature behavior. Anna felt that being a grandmother was a gift from
Robin to Anna, and she would not take it for granted. Patrick came over to
them and told them Eli might have a fractured jaw. His manager was
threatening to sue Patrick if Eli wasn't able to perform his next show.
Anna decided to approach Noah and ask if he would be interested in being
Eli Love once more. Noah was appalled when he heard how Eli had treated
Anna. He declined the offer to be a superstar again, though. Noah was an
alcoholic, and the temptation to drink when he was Eli Love was too great.
Anna told him he was a good man, but Noah said he was just a slow learner.
His alcoholism had ruined his relationship with his son. He couldn't risk
an encore as Eli Love. Eli was preparing to leave after learning his jaw
was not fractured and he would be able to sing. He apologized to Anna for
his previous comments and extended an offer for her to come to his hotel
room for dinner later. Anna offered to leave with him when he left the
hospital but Eli didn't think that was such a great idea. He didn't want
to be seen in public with her because he had an image to maintain. Anna
was furious and declined the offer to ever meet up with him again. Noah
took things a step further and punched Eli Love, who fell to the ground.
At the Scorpio home, Maxie freaked out when she saw a half-naked Matt in
her home. She started screaming. Spinelli heard her and rushed to her
defense but was quickly subdued by Matt. Maxie grabbed a poker and was
about to do Matt great bodily harm when Robin stopped her and told her
that she had rented Georgie's old room to Matt. Maxie had strenuous
objections, but a callous Matt pointed out that he had a lease signed by
Mac and he was not going to budge. After Matt left the house, Robin
apologized to Maxie for renting the room to such a jerk. After Robin left,
Maxie and Spinelli plotted ways to get rid of Matt. Spinelli was in
seventh heaven as Maxie hugged him and told him he was her best friend.
At the nurse's station, Patrick had words with Matt over the care of a
patient, while Epiphany looked on. Matt wanted to operate, but Patrick
wanted to wait. Patrick prevailed because he had treated the patient in
the first place and had seniority. Epiphany gave Matt a report that
showed that the patient that he and Patrick had been discussing was
responding to treatment and would not need surgery. This backed up what
Patrick had told Matt earlier. When Matt made a sarcastic response about
the all-knowing Dr. Drake, Epiphany responded that Matt might want to work
with the members of the staff instead of working against them, because
some of them had been patching up people at a time when Matt was still
skinning his knees. Matt was left speechless.
Robin tried to convince Anna to go to the Eli Love concert, but Anna was
still upset over the way Eli had shunned her with the press, and refused.
She said that she would rather stick needles in her eyes than go to Eli's
concert. Robin was convinced that Anna needed to go to the concert to show
Eli what he was missing but Anna refused and left the area. Robin shared
her concerns with Noah and Patrick. She begged Noah to convince Anna to go
to the concert. Noah paged Anna and when she arrived on the scene, she
told him that she would rather share a dinner with him and catch up than
go to Eli's concert. Noah said he would love to do that, but he did not
want Anna to use him as a way to hide from Eli Love.
Max showed up at Eli Love's concert and Robin made sure all the final
plans were complete. Eli Love was to be kidnapped at gunpoint in front of
Anna. Robin was worried Anna wouldn't show up, but thankfully Anna came to
the concert. Eli was thrilled to see her and the concert started without a
hitch. Everyone enjoyed the music but at the end a strange girl ran up on
stage and leapt into Eli's arms. Anna was furious but Robin managed to get
her mother to wait with her by Eli's limousine for Patrick's arrival. When
Eli appeared, a masked gunman tried to grab Eli. Anna thwarted the
would-be attacker and impressed Eli with her moves.
Robin met Anna at the Metro Court restaurant. Robin apologized for setting
Anna up to foil the phony kidnapping of Eli Love. Anna said Robin she was
her daughter and she loved her, but she also admitted that she felt
humiliated when she found out the kidnapping attempt was a fake. Robin
told her the main reason that she had staged it was to show Anna that she
was Robin's hero. Anna was touched and told Robin that as long as she had
Robin's love, nothing else mattered and she was not going to lose her
self-confidence because of Eli Love.
Eli Love went to the hospital looking for Anna and refused to leave, even
when his managers insisted. When he asked Epiphany about Robin, she was
very short with him. She asked if he was ill. When he said no, she told
him to stop wasting her time. Eli insisted that Robin was the only one who
could convince Anna. Epiphany said that Anna was already convinced that
Eli was "an ass." Eli did not understand her animosity. He
thought that it was understandable that he was freaked out by Anna's
grandmother status, but he wanted to set the record straight. He told
Epiphany how impressed he had been by Anna's actions in his defense on the
previous evening and he wanted to talk to her. He told his managers that
he was not going anywhere without seeing Anna. Eli was still at GH when
Anna and Robin got there. Robin tried to shield Anna from Eli, but he
insisted that he had things to say to her. Anna said that she had heard
everything that he had to say, but Eli persisted. He told her that he
wanted her in his life. He thanked her for saving him, and then he told
her that he could handle her being a grandmother, but he could not handle
her walking out of his life. Before Anna could answer, a woman appeared
with a young boy and told Eli that she had brought his son to see him.
Anna looked on as Eli's manager told the young woman, whose name was
Trish, to leave. He told her that she knew the deal, that if she came
anywhere near Eli, she would forfeit child support. Trish sent her son,
Elijah, to the waiting area to play with his toy cars, while she spoke
with Eli. Robin joined Elijah and tried to make conversation, but he was
withdrawn. Patrick came over to assist. Patrick was very helpful and
demonstrated his parenting skills as he and Robin talked to Elijah about
the cars. Robin was very impressed with Patrick's ability to have a
conversation with Elijah without talking down to him. While Anna and
various hospital staff members looked on, Trish told Eli that she was not
there because she wanted more money, but because her son, Elijah, wanted
to meet his father. Eli told her that a half hour in a tour bus did not
make him a father. He told her that he gave her plenty of money to take
care of the boy. Eli asked Trish what it would take to get her and her son
out of his life. Anna, annoyed by Eli's callous treatment of the woman in
front of the child, asked Epiphany to take Elijah away.
Once the boy was out of sight, Anna delivered a vicious kick to Eli's jaw.
Eli collapsed to the ground. He soon found that there was little sympathy
for his plight. No one went to his aid. Patrick bent down and admonished
Eli for his behavior. He accused Eli and men like him, for giving women a
false impression of men who want to be fathers to their children. Noah,
who had joined the onlookers, was impressed by what his son had said.
After Eli was carted away by his handlers, Noah took a moment to let his
son know that he was proud of him. At the park, Anna and Noah talked. Anna
realized that perhaps her attraction to Eli stemmed from the fact that he
looked like Noah. Noah decided to test the theory by leaning down and
kissing Anna. Later, Robin was preoccupied with the idea of her mother
spending time with Noah. She asked Patrick to call his father to find out
where Noah had taken Anna for dinner. Patrick refused the request and
suggested that he and Robin spend time alone together. Robin couldn't stop
worrying about her mother, so she excused herself and walked away.
At the hospital, Patrick could not resist telling Robin how sexy he
thought she looked. They started kissing and headed to the supply closet.
When they got there they found it occupied by Anna and Noah, who asked
Robin and Patrick to remember that they were adults and could have a
relationship if they wanted to. Patrick and Robin agreed that they were
right, which surprised Anna and Noah. Robin asked Patrick and Noah to
leave so that she could talk to Anna. After the men were gone, Robin
wanted to know if Anna truly cared about Noah or if she was still
attracted to Eli Love. Anna said she thought that she had been attracted
to Noah in the first place, and that Eli had been the substitute. Her only
regret was that she had wasted time on Eli when she could have been
getting to know Noah, with whom she had more in common, and who she liked
better. Robin accepted that and wished Anna well. Patrick and Noah also
had a discussion about Noah and Anna. Noah was surprised when Patrick gave
his approval, which made Noah happy. The pair shared a father-son bonding
moment.
Patrick told Robin he felt they were having a boy. It would be ironic for
him to have a boy after all the trouble he caused for his own father.
Robin reminded Patrick they would not make the same mistakes as their
parents had made. Robin and Patrick would make their own mistakes. Patrick
asked if Robin was having second thoughts about finding out the sex of
their baby. Robin said no, but she was nervous. They sat down and Patrick
told Robin she was very brave. If it hadn't been for Robin's heroic acts,
they wouldn't even have been pregnant. They rushed off to the hospital to
finally have the sex of their child revealed to them. As soon as Robin and
Patrick arrived, a patient with head trauma also arrived in the emergency
room. Dr. Hunter asked Patrick to help out, so Robin called Maxie to be
with her for the ultrasound. While they waited, they talked about how
amazing it was for Robin to be pregnant. This was something she never
thought was possible after finding out she was HIV-positive. Kelly called
them back into the ultrasound room, and Maxie confessed she was excited
about the baby. Normally, Maxie wasn't the type of girl to get excited
about babies. She thought this baby would be another person for her and
Mac to love, though. Maxie wished Georgie were there, because Georgie
always loved babies. Maxie hesitantly said she might even babysit but
Robin agreed not to hold her to that promise. Just as the ultrasound was
about to begin, Patrick walked in. He was relieved to be there and not too
late for the ultrasound. Maxie decided to leave so Patrick and Robin could
share the moment privately. Both Robin and Patrick were amazed to finally
get a glimpse of the child growing within Robin. Patrick made a comment
about his little boy and Robin asked if Patrick's guess was right. Kelly
revealed they were having a little girl.
After showing the baby to Robin and Patrick using ultrasound equipment,
Kelly left them alone to talk privately about their unborn baby girl.
Robin asked Patrick if he was disappointed that it was not a boy. Patrick
said no and then told Robin that he had never been happier that he was at
that moment with her. He pronounced their little girl "perfect."
Patrick and Robin held hands and shared a tender moment together. Patrick
immediately started worrying that he would be a terrible father to a girl.
Robin laughed at Patrick's fears. As he started imagining his daughter
growing up, he became more incensed on his yet unborn daughter's behalf as
he imagined her at the mercy of a boy such as he had been. Robin smiled at
his protective urges. Robin and Patrick were still talking about how happy
they were when they reached the nurses' station. Patrick was immediately
called to surgery, which gave Robin and Jason a chance to chat. He told
her how happy he was for her. Robin told him that she had never been
happier in her whole life and she owed it all to Jason.
At the hospital, Robin and Jason spent a few minutes talking about Robin's
pregnancy and then the past. While they visited, Robin felt the baby kick
and invited Jason to touch her tummy while the baby continued to move. As
Robin and Jason said goodbye, Patrick walked up and overheard Robin say
that she hoped Jason would be a part of her daughter's life. Later,
Patrick found Robin and told her that he had reservations about her
decision. Patrick told Robin that he did not want Jason to be around their
little girl, not after he had to dig a bullet out of Michael's head. Robin
agreed.
Patrick and Robin went to Kelly's to eat breakfast. After ordering,
Patrick changed his mind and corrected their order to something healthier
for them both. He said he didn't feel right about eating bad if Robin had
to eat better. Later at the hospital, Patrick tried to ease Robin's
caseload so she could rest. She reminded him it was only 10:00 in the
morning and she didn't need to rest. Back at GH, Dr. Hunter tried asking
Leyla out to dinner, she turned him down and walked away. He followed her
and asked again. Patrick overheard and told the young doctor to shut his
mouth and back off leave or he would be charged for sexual harassment.
Anna approaches and curiously listens in on the exchange. Dr. Hunter told
Patrick he was out of line and Leyla said she could handle Dr. Hunter on
her own. Robin was thrilled when she saw her mother in the lobby. Anna had
been given a leave of absence from the agency and wanted to be around
until after the baby was born. Robin was excited but Anna felt Robin might
need her more than she originally thought. Anna started to explain about
Patrick and Leyla's earlier confrontation with Matt Hunter but Robin asked
if they could talk over lunch at Kelly's. Leyla had overheard their brief
conversation and as soon as the two women were gone she told Patrick what
had happened.
#7B At Kelly's, Patrick walked in just as Anna was finishing
up summarizing Patrick's sudden urge to protect Leyla from Matt Hunter.
Robin wasn't worried, though and she told Patrick she knew what was going
on. The smile on their faces gave it away and Anna was thrilled to learn
she was going to have a granddaughter. Anna, Robin, and Patrick share a
lighthearted breakfast at Kelly's. Anna, Robin, and Mike teased Patrick
about being a reformed ladies man and about how protective he had become
of his daughter. Mike and Anna discussed the joys of being a grandparent.
Patrick and Robin were laughing and smiling when they returned to the
hospital. Robin went to see Leyla and overheard Nadine telling Leyla that
the kiss she had shared with Nikolas was the most intense experience that
she had ever had. She said it would never happen again because Nikolas had
pulled away and asked her to leave and she had done as he asked.
Epiphany and Patrick were bickering back and forth as they approached the
nurse's station. Robin was curious about what they were talking about but
Patrick refused to enlighten her. He asked Robin to trust him and promised
her that she would know by the end of the day. Robin jumped to the
conclusion that Patrick was going to try to push her to take an early
maternity leave. That theory was bolstered by Anna's arrival. Robin made
it clear that she had no intention of going on maternity leave early. To
emphasize her point, Robin returned to work. While Robin was in an exam
room with a patient, Patrick's voice came over the P.A. system. Robin was
speechless as Patrick began talking about how much he loved Robin and
their baby. As she made her way to Patrick at the nurse's station, Patrick
listed all the reasons that he thought Robin was a special and unique
person. When he saw Robin, Patrick put the phone down and walked up to
her. In front of the hospital staff, Mac, and Anna, a misty-eyed Patrick
got down on one knee and asked Robin if she would marry him. He told her
he knew they wouldn't always get along, but they would always have respect
for each other. Robin had made him want to commit to someone, and Patrick
was ready to commit to her and their family. He wanted to spend the rest
of his life with her and their baby. Robin was clearly touched by
Patrick's words. As Liz, Kelly, Epiphany, Mac, Matt Hunter, and Anna
watched, Robin said it was a beautiful thought but she was too crowded. A
very hurt Patrick sat down on the floor while Robin got on the elevator.
Patrick found Robin in the park and sat down next to her on the park
bench. She said she finally realized what the woman at the SuperBowl every
year felt like. She was referring to the marriage proposal that inevitably
always happened upon the huge MegaTron. All those people staring at her,
she couldn't say no. Patrick asked if that was what Robin was trying to
do, to say no. Robin said she wanted to make sure Patrick wasn't just
asking her to marry him because they were having a baby together. She
thought that was a terrible idea. Patrick agreed. It was a terrible idea
to get married just for the sake of the baby. He wasn't asking her to
marry him just for the baby, though. He wanted to spend the rest of his
life with her. Robin said they didn't need the stress of a wedding, but
Patrick said he wanted it. He wanted to say vows to her, so the next time
they got into a fight there was a reason to keep trying. Robin told him
she loved him but apologized as she just couldn't marry him. Robin walked
away as Patrick sat with tears running down his face. Back inside the
hospital, Robin's friends stood around and guessed why Robin did what she
did. They all had their own opinions and debated whether Patrick had
changed his old ways. It was time to step in and help Robin out.
Patrick and Anna shared scones and conversation at Patrick's apartment.
Patrick wanted her help in convincing Robin to marry him. They had just
started talking about how to change Robin's mind, when she showed up to
return the flowers and candy that Patrick had sent in his attempt to woo
her. Anna left them alone to sort out their issues. Robin remained firm
that she did not want to get married. She worried that getting married
would ruin their relationship. Robin also worried about her dad, Robert,
who was in GH undergoing chemotherapy. She did not want to keep the news
from Anna, but Robert had insisted that he did not want Anna to know.
Patrick said it was because Robert did not want Anna to see him weak.
Robin speculated that it was something in the genes that made him so
stubborn. Robin said that not wanting to get married was also in the
genes.
Anna dropped by the Port Charles police station to see Mac. She told him
that he had to help Robin see that marrying Patrick would be the best
thing for her to do. Mac said he wanted to stay out of it. He said that
even though he did not think that anyone was good enough for Robin, that
if she wanted to get married, he would support whoever Robin chose, even
Patrick. Anna said that Robin did want to get married, but Robin was
afraid to make the commitment because everyone she had loved had died or
been lost to her except for Mac. Anna told Mac that he was Robin's
security blanket because he had always been there for her. Anna told him
that because of that connection, he was the one who could get through to
Robin.
Robin returned to the hospital and found Elizabeth in the break room. She
tried to commiserate with Elizabeth, but Elizabeth did not share Robin's
pessimism about marriage. Elizabeth said that if Robin had the chance to
make a lifetime commitment to the man she loved, then Robin should take
it. Elizabeth went back to work and Robin was left speechless. Patrick
arrived with Spinelli's chart, followed in short order by Matt, who
demanded to know why Patrick was second-guessing him. Maxie piped up that
she had asked for Patrick. Matt responded that she had no authority to do
so. Patrick took Matt out to the hall. Matt blamed Spinelli's high temp on
counterfeit meds, which he told Patrick, he had sent to be tested. Patrick
gave Matt a dressing down and blamed Spinelli's complications on an
inexperienced surgeon.
Out at the nurses' station, Epiphany, Kelly, and Dr. Winters asked
Elizabeth questions about Robin, who soon emerged from the break room and
realized that the women at the desk were talking about her. When Patrick
came by and asked to speak with her, she assumed that it was another
proposal, so she told everyone in the area that she did not want to get
married. Patrick said it was not a proposal, but a consultation. He gave
her Spinelli's chart. He said he was taking over the case because the
surgeon had botched the job. She looked it over as Epiphany, Kelly, and
Dr. Winters all made remarks that encouraged Robin to marry Patrick. When
Mac arrived with Anna, Robin thought she had an ally, but when she asked
Mac to back her up and say that marriage to Patrick was a bad idea, Mac
responded that he was not so sure.
Robin found Patrick, Elizabeth, Lainey, Epiphany, and Kelly huddled
together at the nurse's station. She mistakenly believed that her friends
and Patrick were conspiring against her. Robin told all of them that she
appreciated their efforts and understood that they had her best interest
at heart but she had no intention of getting married. Kelly pulled Robin
aside and gently informed her that she was wrong; they weren't talking
about Robin or Patrick's proposal. Robin was embarrassed, and apologized.
Later, Robin used the P.A. system to make an announcement. Patrick slowly
walked up to the nurse's station while Robin talked about how wonderful
and understanding Patrick was. While everyone looked on, Robin professed
her love for Patrick but told him once again, that she couldn't marry him.
Dr. Hunter was upset about the turn of events with Spinelli but remained
confident it had not been his surgery that had led to Spinelli's problems.
Matt felt Spinelli had been given sugar pills instead of the antibiotic
the doctors thought they had given him, so he had been left unprotected
against infection. Maxie and Robin had been briefly talking in the hall
when they heard the exchange between Patrick and Matt. Anna walked in and
Robin was concerned her mother might be sick. Anna said she was just there
because Patrick had asked to see her. Robin was annoyed by the
information, but Anna tried to remind her that Patrick had changed his
ways for Robin. He had publicly announced his love to Robin and every time
she turned him down, it was a blow to Patrick's ego. Robin thought her
mother was taking Patrick's side, but Anna assured her that she was not.
Patrick came in to check on Spinelli, who was doing much better
physically. Spinelli confessed he was distraught for personal reasons, and
Patrick offered a project to distract the young patient. After Spinelli
agreed, Patrick brought Anna in to make a recording for Robin on
Spinelli's computer. During her speech, Anna told Robin that no man should
ever be a substitute for her own self-worth. Robin didn't have to make the
same decisions Anna had made, such as raising a family on her own. Being
adventurous wasn't everything. Sometimes being adventurous was just being
courageous enough to be different. Both Patrick and Spinelli seemed
touched by Anna's words. She told her daughter in the recording that
Patrick loved Robin and Robin loved Patrick. At the end of the day, what
else was there?
Robin and Anna met in the lounge at the hospital. Robin wanted to know why
Anna appeared on Patrick's blog to plead his suit. Anna said that it just
happened, but that she really had expressed her true feelings. Anna did
feel that Robin should marry Patrick. Patrick came over and showed his
latest video, which featured Coleman appealing to Robin to accept
Patrick's proposal. Anna, Robin, and Patrick all laughed at many of
Coleman's unintentionally humorous and insightful comments. When Robin
still would not say yes, Patrick left to get a recommendation from Mac. As
he left, Robin was incredulous at the thought that her Uncle Mac would
side with Patrick.
Robin deals with her friends who were all talking about her and Patrick.
Mac wanted Robin's help to get Maxie to come home. Robin offered to go
talk to her cousin, and Mac seemed appeased. Nikolas came to see Patrick
at the young doctor's request. Patrick was anxious to learn Nikolas' take
on why Robin wouldn't marry him. Nikolas thought Robin didn't want to
marry Patrick because she was worried it was all about the baby. Patrick
said he had tried to explain that he really did love her, but Robin kept
twisting his words around. Robin was the most frustrating woman he had
ever met, but she made him a better person. Robin went to Jason and
Spinelli's apartment where Spinelli begged Robin to have mercy on him and
let Maxie stay. Robin said she would work something out. Maxie tried
explaining she was just trying to do something unselfish with her life.
She knew what it was like to recover from surgery, and Spinelli had no
one. Robin asked Jason's opinion?
Jason said it would have been better if Maxie had never met Spinelli.
However, Spinelli wanted Maxie there so he guessed it was all right. Robin
thought things would be fine and she promised to explain things to Mac.
Robin's uncle was under a lot of stress because Robin's due date was
coming up. Jason congratulated her on the baby and Robin asked if he knew
about Patrick's blog. Jason had no idea what a blog was. Robin briefly
ranted about how her little girl would be better off with two parents who
were happy apart than living with two parents who were bitterly fighting
and inevitably divorcing. Robin said she wasn't being a pessimist, she was
only being a realist. Jason was suddenly sorry he brought anything up.
When Robin realized Jason was truly clueless about Patrick's blogs, she
decided it was time to leave. After Patrick and Mac met and talked,
Patrick thanked him for his confidence. Mac promised he would hurt Patrick
if the man hurt Robin or
turned out to be a bad father. When Robin saw the two men together, she
was very exasperated. She started to vent to them but was suddenly struck
with sharp pains. Patrick asked the nurses to page Dr. Lee as Robin was in
labor!
While Elizabeth and Patrick got Robin settled in a wheelchair, Mac fretted
to Anna. He worried that Patrick was stressing Robin out by pressuring her
to get married. Mac had a pessimistic attitude and feared Robin would lose
the baby or that it would be born with HIV. Anna comforted him. Robin and
Patrick made a plan about what they would do for their daughter if she
were born early, but they were relieved when Kelly told them that Robin
was not in labor but having Braxton-Hicks contractions, which Kelly
pointed out, were perfectly natural. She told Robin that as long as she
relaxed and avoided unnecessary stress, there was no reason that she could
not carry her baby to term. After Patrick and Kelly went back to work,
Anna visited. She, too, was relieved that Robin was not in labor. Robin
told Anna that she was treating the incident like practice for the real
thing. Robin said she was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and
support she had. A tearful Anna apologized for being an overbearing mother
who always knew what was right for her child. She told Robin that she
would stop pressuring Robin to marry Patrick, but she would reserve the
right to hover. Robin told Anna that she hoped she could be even half as
good a mother to her child as Anna had been to her. Later, when Patrick
checked on Robin, he told her that he loved her and he did not want to
apply any more pressure on her. He told her that he would stop his
campaign to get her to agree to marriage and that he would be content to
raise their child and be with her in any way she chose. Robin told Patrick
that she loved him too. When he told her again that he would not suggest
marriage again, a look that might have been regret flashed across her
face.
Robin approached Elizabeth and wondered what Patrick had said. Elizabeth
did not say and Robin admitted that since Patrick had done what she had
asked and had stopped proposing marriage, she wanted him to start asking
again. Elizabeth said that maybe Robin was ambivalent to marriage and that
there was nothing wrong with that. Besides, Elizabeth went on, making a
commitment to one person was pretty scary, especially if you were not
absolutely certain. Robin responded that no one could ever be absolutely
certain. Elizabeth said that was her point. Robin smiled. Robin said that
what she knew for certain was that she loved Patrick and Patrick loved
her. She knew that Patrick was the one who was brave enough to put his
heart on the line and she had not even been willing to meet him halfway.
Robin feared that worst of all, she had really hurt Patrick with her
refusal to get married.
Patrick caught Claudia putting on her clothes. She told him that she was
checking herself out. Patrick protested releasing her without further
tests, so she started putting seductive moves on him. Patrick told her he
was only interested in her health, but Claudia kept up the pressure. Robin
walked in on them. Patrick immediately told her it was not what it looked
like. Robin responded that she knew exactly what was going on. Robin
quickly realized Claudia is trying to manipulate Patrick. He was relieved
that Robin had not misread things between him and Claudia. Claudia insists
on leaving the hospital against Patrick’s advice. Patrick warned Claudia
that she was leaving the hospital against his orders then washed his hands
of her. While Claudia prepared to leave, Patrick and Robin stepped out
into the hallway. Robin appeared to want to talk to Patrick about where
they stood but Patrick's pager when off and his immediate attention was
required. Maxie goes to GH to see Robin. She tells Robin about her
testimony. Maxie feels bad about the “bad choices” she made. She tells
Robin how she disappointed Spinelli. Robin says people can change. She
uses Patrick as an example. Robin tries to give Maxie credit for some of
the changes she’s made. Maxie is convinced her relationship with
Spinelli will be changed forever. Maxie leaves. Later, Robin
approaches Patrick tried to apologize to him for how she had been treating
him recently. Robin says she’s “committed” to him. Patrick brushed
off her concerns and told her that she had nothing to apologize for. He
reassured Robin that they were in a good place and wants her to stay calm,
and he says he is content with their relationship.
At the hospital, Matt Hunter was unconscious and suffering from third
degree burns. Patrick had taken over his case and was feeling
uncharacteristically sympathetic as he talked to Robin. He felt he had to
make decisions about Matt's care because his hospital records listed his
mother as deceased and named no next-of-kin. Robin said she would ask Anna
to use her contacts to find another relative. Patrick and Noah greeted
each other fondly. Noah told Patrick how proud he was of him and Patrick
told Noah that he did not do everything wrong as a parent. They shared a
father-son hug. Robin asked Anna to find Matt's relatives, so Anna got on
the phone. Robin left, but Noah arrived in time to hear that a doctor was
seriously injured in a fire. When he heard the name, Matt Hunter, he
hurried to Matt's room. Anna followed and asked if Noah knew Matt. With a
smile on his face, he said "Yeah."
Robin and Patrick talked about Dr. Hunter, and Patrick said he saw a lot
of himself in the young doctor. Robin had paperwork to take Patrick's mind
off of Matt Hunter, though. She was filling out the registration paperwork
for the hospital. Kelly wanted it filled out one month prior to Robin's
due date. They needed to come up with a name for their daughter. After
some joking around, they decided on Alyssa Rose. They could not decide on
whose last name she would have. Patrick told Robin that having his last
name would allow his daughter to be close to her father. It appeared Robin
might give in and name her baby Alyssa Rose Drake.
Anna visited Matt in ICU, and she told him Robin had asked her to locate
Matt's family. Matt said it was no use. His mother was deceased and his
father had never been in the picture. Later, Noah came in to talk to Matt
about his injuries. Matt asked why he suddenly cared. Noah had never been
a part of his life before the fire. Noah explained that Matt's mother only
wanted Noah to pay child support and pay for part of Matt's education, in
exchange for Noah not being a part of the child's life. Patrick was
outside the room when he heard Matt yelling at Noah. He overheard the
young doctor call Noah, "Dad."
At the hospital, Patrick walked into Dr. Hunter's room and asked if he had
just heard him correctly. Noah and Matt both confirmed to Patrick that Dr.
Hunter was Noah's son. Matt said he was curious about Patrick and Noah, so
when the fellowship came up for him to work at General Hospital, he jumped
at the opportunity. Matt told them both that he was no longer curious.
Patrick asked if his mother had known, but Noah didn't think she had.
Patrick was very upset to learn he had a brother and had never known, but
he was also upset that his father had never taken care of his other son
except financially. Patrick stormed out of the room with Noah soon
following. Robin tried to stop Patrick to talk about their baby, but
Patrick was in no mood. Anna and Robin witnessed as Patrick and Noah
started shouting at each other in the hallway. Anna acknowledged to her
daughter that Noah had not made good choices, but she thought he was still
a good man. Robin and Anna went to see Matt and asked if there was
anything they could do for him. After all, he was the only uncle Robin's
daughter had. She did ask Anna if there was anything else she needed to
know, but Anna confirmed she did not have any other children. Matt told
them he just wanted a break. He hadn't come there asking for any family.
No one took any interest in him until the fire, so he wasn't interested in
them after the fire. Patrick walked in and told Matt to be nice to Robin,
and the two brothers got into their first fight.
Noah went into Matt's hospital room to talk about treatment options for
Matt's condition. Hot on his heels was Patrick. Matt told Noah that since
Noah had had no use for Matt as a child, Matt did not need Noah as a dad,
now that Matt was an adult. Patrick told Noah that he had no use for him
as a dad, either. Matt did not bond with Patrick and sent him away just as
he had Noah. Out at the nurses' station Patrick told Robin that he feared
that he would be a bad parent because of what Noah had done to him and
Matt. Robin assured Patrick that he had nothing to fear because there was
no such thing as a bad dad gene. If Patrick wanted to be a good dad, and
Robin was sure that he wanted to be, he would be. In the lounge, Noah was
surprised to learn that Anna did not hate him. She told him that even
though he had made mistakes in the past, she knew that he would do better
with his family in the future. He told her that her confidence in him
should make him want to go to an A.A. meeting instead of going to a bar
where he could sink into a bottle. Anna looked perplexed as he walked
away. Robin dropped in to see Matt. He tried to be sarcastic with her, but
she put him in his place by pointing out that his behavior toward Patrick
had been combative and argumentative. She told him that Patrick had had a
rough life with Noah as a dad, also, and even though he had recently had a
better relationship with Noah, Patrick had still put their bond as
brothers ahead of his connection to Noah. Patrick went to see a prickly
Matt, who responded sarcastically to Patrick's offer of a truce. Patrick
did not take the bait. Instead he told Matt that even though they did not
like each other, they were brothers and Patrick intended to honor that
bond. Matt looked as though he wanted to relent.
Robin arrived at Sonny's house to wish him luck in his marriage to Kate.
She couldn't go to the wedding, because she had an emergency consult that
night at the hospital. They talked briefly about the baby. Robin said
Stone would have been happy for them. All he had wanted for the two of
them was for them to find happiness and purpose. At GH, Robin immediately
comforted Sonny in the aftermath of Kate's shooting and told him that she
and Patrick would be there for him. Sonny introduced Robin and Patrick to
Olivia. When Patrick started running down the case and Sonny asked how
soon he could operate, Olivia pulled rank and let them all know that she
was the next of kin and she would be making the decisions about Kate's
care. Olivia was very abrupt with Robin when she tried to defend Sonny,
and despite Sonny's glowing recommendation, questioned both doctors'
credentials.
Patrick became very professional at that point and told her to take all
the time she needed to check him out. He cautioned that the longer they
waited the more likely Kate was to be paralyzed. Olivia became less testy
with Robin after Sonny said that Olivia was entitled to her feelings. He
told her to consult with the doctors but to make sure that she made the
right choice for Kate. Olivia wanted to be sure that Kate walked again,
but all Sonny cared about was that she lived. When Olivia asked for
Patrick's assessment, he told her that the bullet was lodged very close to
Kate's spine. If they operated too soon, Kate could die on the table, but
if they waited too long the damage from the bullet would cause paralysis.
Patrick said he was sure that he could save Kate's life and that if he
operated at the opportune moment, there was an excellent chance for a full
recovery. Olivia decided to let Patrick continue on the case but she
remarked to Sonny that she hoped that Patrick was as good at surgery as he
was at running his mouth. Patrick examined Kate, who came briefly to
consciousness. She mumbled that she had to tell Sonny a secret, even if it
meant he hated her. As Patrick held her hand, she said "Tell Sonny he
has," before lapsing back into unconsciousness, leaving Patrick to
question, "Has what?"
Patrick wanted to check on Kate before she was prepped for surgery. Olivia
took the opportunity to dash off to the hotel so that she could wash up
and change before Kate's operation. Sonny remained behind and spoke to
Patrick about Kate's prognosis. Sonny admitted that he had hoped that Kate
would have woken up before her surgery. Patrick surprised Sonny with the
news that Kate had been conscious for a short time during the night. She
had asked Patrick to give Sonny a message, but unfortunately she had
drifted back into unconsciousness before she could say anything else.
Before Patrick left to prepare for the operation, he told Sonny that he
couldn't give him any guarantees, but that he would do his best to save
Kate's life. Patrick then gave Sonny a few minutes alone with Kate before
she was taken to surgery.
Robin walked in, she saw her friend's hurt and quickly comforted him with
a hug. They pulled apart and started talking. Robin assured Sonny that
Kate's chances of recovery increased because she had Patrick for a
surgeon. She told him that Patrick was a brilliant doctor whom she deeply
admired. Loving him just gave her a better understanding of just how
skilled Patrick truly was. Sonny appreciated the glowing endorsement,
which seemed to put his mind at ease. As the old friends talked, Sonny
appeared to find a reason to hope. He credited Robin for that and thanked
her. Sonny felt that as long as life continued, there was a possibility
for happiness. Patrick soon returned with the news that Kate had made it
through the operation. Once Kate was settled back into her room and Sonny
was left alone with her, Sonny made a promise to Kate. He told her that he
had decided to reclaim the reigns of his mob empire and vowed to make the
person who had hurt her pay for shooting Kate. Sonny swore that no one
would ever come after him or his again. Meanwhile, Jason had entered the
room and heard Sonny's declaration.
Patrick found Robin alone in the staff locker room. Robin seemed troubled,
so he offered to take her out for some fresh air and a walk. Robin
appreciated Patrick's concern, but she wanted to talk to him instead.
Patrick sat down as Robin began speaking. She told him that Sonny reminded
her that time and love were precious. Robin didn't think she should be so
arrogant as to take either for granted. Robin continued to pour out her
heart as she told Patrick that she wanted to spend the rest of her life
with him. Robin then proposed marriage to Patrick. Patrick's expression
was blank and he remained ominously silent as Robin looked down with
expectation shining in her eyes.
Robin told Patrick she finally realized what she really wanted, to marry
him. After spending time with Sonny, she understood how rare it was to
fine true love. Life was short and love was rare. Robin felt ridiculous
for not realizing how lucky she was. Robin got down on one knee and asked
Patrick to marry her. Patrick said no; he told her he had been selfish by
focusing on his own needs and not Robin's needs. Robin needed to be single
and independent in order to feel safe. Patrick said he couldn't marry
Robin because he loved her too much. He kissed her and walked away.
Anna came into the nurse's lounge to look for Robin. They were supposed to
go shopping for the nursery, or closet as Anna often called it. When she
saw her daughter, Anna asked why she wasn't ready yet. Robin told her
about Patrick turning down her proposal. Anna was relieved to learn her
daughter finally realized her true love for Patrick.
Patrick came in to check on Kate. Olivia thanked him for helping Kate.
Patrick told them both that Kate should be waking up from the surgery
soon. Patrick warned them that Kate could be incoherent when she woke up,
especially since she was insisting on telling Sonny something right before
the surgery. Olivia looked scared. Patrick examined Kate. Kate woke
briefly and told Patrick that he had to tell Sonny that he was the father
of Olivia's son. Patrick told Kate that she would be able to tell him
herself. Olivia came back and asked Patrick what Kate had said. He told
her that Kate had merely mumbled a few words before falling back asleep.
Anna dropped by the police station to see Mac. She told him that Robin
needed some cheering up after Patrick turned down her marriage proposal.
He agreed to go see Robin. At General Hospital. Robin and Patrick were
unnecessarily sharp with Epiphany. She told them to keep their personal
business away from work and not to take their bad moods out on the staff.
When she left, both Robin and Patrick were appropriately chagrined. Mac
caught up with Robin at the hospital. He brought her chocolate chip
cookies and a raspberry smoothie. She said he always knew how to cheer her
up. He listened to her tell how upset she was that Patrick had not
accepted her proposal. Mac sympathized with her and told her how much he
loved and admired her. She told him how silly she felt for putting herself
on the line and being refused by Patrick. Mac told her that he knew that
she could do anything that she put her mind to. She told him that he was
her rock and that she was very grateful that he was always there for her.
While Mac and Robin were talking in the lounge Patrick strolled by on his
way to the nurses' station. Mac walked over to him, took out his handcuffs
and told Patrick he was under arrest. When Patrick asked why? Mac slapped
on the cuffs and said, "Failure to yield-to my niece."
Mac hauled Patrick down to the police station and tossed him into the
interrogation room. He was talking to Patrick about Robin's proposal when
Robin rushed in, clearly out of breath. Both men urged her to sit down,
wearing matching expressions of concern. Robin realized that they were
worried that she might be in labor and quickly calmed their fears. She was
out of breath from racing to the police station. Satisfied that Robin was
fine, Mac told Patrick and Robin that they needed to work things out. To
make sure that they had ample opportunity to do so, Mac kept Patrick in
police custody and walked out of the interrogation room. After Mac
stepped out of the room, Patrick and Robin had a heart-to-heart talk. They
took turns opening up about how they felt and what they meant to each
other. Both were clear that they wanted a life together. Finally, Patrick
got down on bended knee and asked Robin to marry him. With tears in her
eyes and a big smile on her face, Robin happily accepted Patrick's
proposal of marriage. Mac walked in as the lovebirds were kissing. He was
happy for both of them when they announced their engagement to him.
Robin came into Kate's room, and they talked about Sonny. Robin knew Sonny
would want revenge for Kate's shooting, but she thought Kate could be the
only person to talk Sonny out of revenge and rejoining the mob. Kate used
that opportunity to ask Robin if she would tell the father of her baby
that she was pregnant with his child if he was a dangerous man. Patrick
had overheard Robin and Kate's conversation, and he came clean to Robin
after she left and went back to the nurse's station. Robin didn't care
that he had overheard her conversation, but he wanted to know what she
would do if the child she was carrying had a dangerous man as the father.
Robin laughed off his question and changed the subject to the wedding.
Surprisingly, they both agreed they wanted to get married before the baby
was born. They talked about eloping, but Robin couldn't fly with her due
date approaching so quickly. She also wanted to get married in a Catholic
church, since that had been her grandmother's wish. There were certain
people she wanted to invite, especially Epiphany. Robin and Patrick looked
at a calendar together and set the date for their wedding, October 29.
Patrick left the hospital and went to Jake's, where Ric and Claudia were
playing pool. He asked for two shots, and Coleman thought he wasn't happy
with his recent engagement. However, Patrick was upset about the knowledge
of Sonny having another child and not knowing what to do with that
information. Patrick asked Coleman a hypothetical question about his
obligation to share a secret about paternity. Coleman quickly guessed that
Patrick was talking about Sonny, and that Sonny had an adult son that he
did not know about. Patrick admitted that the secret was non-medical and
not covered by doctor-patient confidentiality. Patrick's biggest worry was
that Robin would find out that he had not told her and she would be mad.
On the other hand, if he told her, she would insist that he tell Sonny and
Patrick was not sure that was the right thing to do. Coleman told him that
the secret was not his to tell and that he should keep it from Robin. He
said that under ordinary circumstances it would be right to tell, but in
this case, both Kate and Michael had been shot because of their
relationship to Sonny, so it would be okay if Patrick did not tell.
After several shots of tequila, Patrick decided to follow Coleman's
advice, because Coleman's advice about his relationship to Robin had
always been sound in the past.
Maxie arrived at the hospital in answer to Robin's summons. She was
relieved to hear that Robin was okay, and ecstatic when Robin flashed her
large diamond engagement ring. Maxie immediately took charge of starting
wedding preparations for Robin's October 29 wedding date. Maxie was
overjoyed when Robin asker her to be the maid of honor. While they were
laughing and planning the details of the wedding, Patrick called and told
Robin to meet him at Jake's because he had chosen his best man. Maxie
tagged along. When they arrived, Patrick announced that Coleman would be
his best man. Maxie was dismayed but Robin found Coleman an appropriate
choice. She suggested that Jake's be the site of their reception because
she and Patrick had met there, had fights there, and generally shared a
lot of history with the place. Maxie was not so certain that it was a good
idea. Back at the bar, Coleman poured tequila shots so that the wedding
party could toast the nuptials. When he tried to tell Maxie what to do,
she demonstrated her knowledge of the process, by pouring salt on her
hand, licking it off, downing the shot, then sucking on a lime wedge.
Coleman appeared impressed.
Robin tried to comfort Patrick after he decapitated a fake baby during
Lamaze class. Patrick told her he wanted Robin to have a Cesarean section
so their daughter would have less exposure to Robin's blood. Robin said
there were no indications that a C-section would put their child at less
risk, and Kelly wanted Robin to have a vaginal birth because the placenta
was low. Robin briefly mentioned the wedding and Maxie's wedding plans,
and Patrick asked if Robin wanted to delay the wedding until after their
daughter's birth. Robin assured him Maxie was handling everything, so the
wedding wasn't really stressing her out. Patrick and Robin shared a tender
moment in the lounge. They discussed their upcoming wedding. Robin told
Patrick that all her stress had gone away since she had agreed to marry
him. She was happy that Maxie was taking care of the wedding plans so that
she could just relax and enjoy it. She and Patrick shared a few kisses as
they confirmed their love for each other.
Olivia walked into the hospital and asked Patrick how her cousin was
doing. Patrick was vague at first, so Olivia pressed him for more details.
Patrick said Kate was doing fine and asked if Olivia was keeping Kate's
family informed about her progress. He then asked if the family knew about
Sonny. Olivia took offense to Patrick's personal questions and asked how
he would feel if his daughter was marrying Sonny Corinthos. Patrick just
smiled as Olivia walked away. Robin and Patrick seemed absolutely giddy
during their shift at General Hospital. Epiphany was not so giddy. They
asked her why she was upset? Epiphany seemed to think it was only a matter
of time before Robin and Patrick started arguing over the wedding. Robin
told Epiphany that Maxie was planning the wedding and there would be no
arguments. Epiphany just wanted to make sure Patrick and Robin didn't
create any more drama for the hospital staff than they already had.
Robin left the hospital and met Jason at the Metro Court hotel. She gave
him an invitation to the wedding, but Jason said he couldn't come. Robin
really wanted him there, because he had talked to her and reasoned with
her. It was Jason's sound advice that had made Robin realize she really
did want to marry Patrick. Jason told her he was very happy for Robin and
Patrick but he could only be there for Robin in her heart. He could not
attend the wedding.
Robin was busily giving orders to everyone around the nurses' station,
when Epiphany and Elizabeth lovingly and laughingly told her that she was
a control freak and needed to trust that everyone would do their job to
make sure that all of Robin's patients got great care while she was out on
maternity leave. After Robin left the station, Epiphany and Elizabeth
discussed their plans for Robin's surprise. When Robin came back,
Elizabeth was gone and Epiphany told Robin that all her day's appointments
had cancelled. Robin thought that it was very mysterious, but before she
could do much about it, Patrick swept her away with promises of a special
afternoon. The lights were out when Robin and Patrick entered Jake's. When
they came on, Elizabeth, Epiphany, Nadine, Kelly, Dr. Winters, and Coleman
were gathered near the pool table, which was covered in presents. Robin
was both surprised and touched. Many heartfelt words of friendship and
happiness were exchanged. Patrick told the ladies that he had picked
Coleman as his best man because he had given Patrick good advice and been
a friend no matter what Patrick did or said. There was a lot of hugging,
including Patrick and Coleman. Later as Patrick sat at the bar, Coleman
told Patrick that he was a babe magnet and he wondered how marriage would
go for him. Patrick told him that as much as he loved his bachelor life,
he loved Robin more, unaware that Robin was listening. When she told him
that she loved him, also, they kissed and everyone at the party shared in
their happiness.
Patrick went to Jake's for a drink. Olivia was there and they struck up a
conversation. Patrick admitted his fears about marriage. When he asked
Olivia why she had not married her son's father, he touched a nerve.
Olivia soon realized that Patrick was merely curious, so she said that she
did not know who the father was. Olivia asked Patrick if he would want to
know if he had a child. Patrick said absolutely that he did. He said he
was overjoyed to be a father and a husband to Robin, even though he knew
there would be times that he would miss his bachelor days. Patrick said
that he was looking forward to spending the rest of his life with Robin.
Maxie, Robin, and Spinelli finished the birdseed bags and were packing up
when Mac arrived. Spinelli and Maxie left to take the birdseed bags to the
church and run pre-wedding errands. Robin asked Mac to give her away. Mac
was overjoyed, and told her that he would be happy to walk her down the
aisle and give her his blessing, but that he would never give her away.
They shared a happy hug.
At the Scorpio home, while Robin calmly prepared for her upcoming
nuptials, Mac was on the phone ordering his police department to act as
security for the wedding. Robin felt that Mac was going too far and told
him so. As the two lovingly bickered, the sounds of a helicopter could be
heard in the distance. It grew steadily louder, but Robin and Mac appeared
oblivious to the sound as they continued to argue. Robin was delighted to
see her mother when Anna suddenly walked through the front door. While Mac
excused himself, mother and daughter sat down to for a heart-to-heart
talk. Anna was sentimental as she reminisced about Robin's childhood. She
let Robin know how proud she was of her, and how extraordinary she felt
her daughter was. Maxie and Spinelli arrived at the church and quickly
went to work decorating it for Robin and Patrick's wedding. Maxie went to
Jason's office and demanded that he attend Robin's wedding. Maxie pointed
out that Robin had a powerful impact on Jason's life, and he on hers.
Maxie said that Robin isn't like Carly who gets married every five minutes
and it wouldn't be a big deal if he skipped out on one of hers. She points
out that Robin would only marry once, and that it was important to Robin
for Jason to witness the momentous occasion. Jason doesn't want to put
Robin at risk. Maxie walked in to find Robin and Anna weepy, and demanded
that they stop crying. Maxie was not prepared to deal with puffy eyes
before the wedding.
Patrick took Olivia to the back alley of Jake's, where he had his racecar
parked. Olivia was impressed with the engine and the two talked about
racing and various tracks in the New York area, including Watkins Glen. As
Patrick spoke, it was revealed that he had a passion for driving fast. It
was one of the few things that he and his father had bonded over. It also
became clear that Patrick intended to give up his car and his love for
speed for the sake of his family. Olivia suggested that Patrick reconsider
his decision. She warned Patrick that he might end up resenting Robin for
it. Epiphany was surprised to see Patrick working on his wedding day.
Patrick shrugged it off. He felt there was plenty of time before the
wedding to check on his patients. Epiphany's attention was diverted when
Matt walked up to the nurse's station. She was pleased to see that he had
shaved his beard. Epiphany felt Matt appeared more professional without
the facial hair. As Patrick began to walk away, Matt turned to him and
mentioned receiving an invitation to the wedding. Patrick smiled as he
casually joked that he knew Matt wouldn't have any interest in attending,
but Robin had insisted on sending the invitation. Matt smiled back and
confirmed Patrick's suspicions that he would not be at the wedding.
Patrick's smiled slipped. As he turned away, there was an expression of
disappointment on Patrick's face. A few hours later, Epiphany was stunned
when she saw that Patrick was still working. Patrick insisted that he had
plenty of time to finish his rounds. Patrick was confident that he would
make it to the church on time for the wedding, but Epiphany strongly
disagreed. She asked Patrick why he was tempting fate. Matt stood nearby,
listening to the exchange.
Mac and Robin arrived and met up with Maxie. They strolled into the
sanctuary and found Jason and Elizabeth already there. Mac threatened to
have Jason arrested if he did not leave, but both Robin and Maxie insisted
that Jason was an invited guest, so Mac relented. Maxie, Elizabeth, and
Robin shared girl talk before Maxie left to get dressed and Elizabeth
styled Robin's hair. Mac caught Maxie before she could leave and they
reminisced. Mac remembered when he had first seen Robin as a determined
little girl. He talked about how his life had changed as a result of
raising Robin, and then adopting Maxie and Georgie, after he married
Felicia. When Maxie asked if they had been a burden on him, he told her
that his girls had brought joy and happiness to his life and he did not
regret one minute of the time they had spent together.
At the hospital, Epiphany encouraged Patrick to leave and get ready for
his wedding, but he insisted that he had plenty of time. Matt was on duty,
so Patrick let him know that he and Robin really wanted Matt to come to
the wedding. Patrick said that he did not have much family and that he
would like to explore his brotherly bond with Matt. Matt appeared both
eager and reluctant. Patrick said he would not push, but he really hoped
that he and Matt would find common ground. Patrick and Epiphany signed out
of the hospital. Epiphany took the elevator, but Patrick hung around for a
few more minutes. Leyla told him that she wished the best for him and
Robin. As Patrick headed for the elevator, Anthony was wheeled into
emergency in serious condition. Because it was a neurological problem and
the on call surgeon was elsewhere, Patrick did the workup and gave Johnny
and Claudia the prognosis. Patrick told them that their father had an
aneurism that was bleeding in the brain and he needed surgery. Johnny
begged Patrick to save his father. Because the on call neurosurgeon was
still 20 minutes away, Matt offered to do the surgery so Patrick could
make the wedding, but Patrick said he would do it and Matt would assist.
He told Matt that he was a doctor first and that his prime directive was
to save lives. He said that Robin would understand if he were late.
Patrick, Matt and Leyla scrubbed and operated on Anthony. Patrick kept his
focus on Anthony, even though Matt offered to stabilize Anthony long
enough for Patrick to call Robin. Anthony coded while Patrick and Matt
worked desperately to save him.
As Elizabeth styled Robin's hair, Robin told her how much their friendship
meant. She also told Elizabeth that she had invited Jason to the wedding
as much for Elizabeth's sake as for hers. After Elizabeth was done with
Robin's hair, she left Robin alone to rest. Instead, a relaxed Robin
chatted with her baby and told her how much she loved Patrick and what a
happy life they would have together. Anna arrived in time to have a cozy
talk with Robin before the ceremony. She brought a note from Robert
telling Robin how much he loved her and wished that he could be with her.
Robin and Anna shared their love for each other. Maxie was in a dither
when she joined Robin and Anna. Robin told her to relax. Robin hugged
Maxie and told her what a wonderful job she had done to make Robin's
wedding special. Anna pulled out a beautiful pendant and told Robin that
it would be "something old." She said that Philomena, Robin's
adopted grandmother, had given it to Anna when Anna married Robin's
father. For "something blue," Maxie gave Robin a blue beaded
bracelet that had belonged to Georgie. "Something borrowed" was
a handkerchief from Robert and they all agreed that "something
new" was the baby.
Mac was in the vestibule greeting guests when Bobbie arrived. She brought
regrets from Lucky and Nikolas, who were taking care of business at
Shadybrook. Mac did not seemed terribly thrilled that Coleman was the best
man, but they fell into a reluctant truce. Mac was anxious about Patrick's
whereabouts but Coleman told Mac to relax. Together they greeted Edward
and Monica, who were the next to arrive. They were followed by Nadine,
then Mike, who made an awkward comment about the previous wedding. Kelly,
Epiphany, and Dr. Winters arrived together. and Jax arrived alone. Sonny
arrived and shared his memories of Robin and Stone with Jason. They talked
about their early relationship with Robin. Sonny told Jason that no matter
what had gone down between them, he was glad that they could both be there
for Robin. Jason nodded his agreement. Speculation about Patrick's
whereabouts circulated through the wedding party. Shortly after Mac
alerted Robin that Patrick had not arrived at the church, a panicked
Spinelli burst into the room with the news that Patrick was nowhere to be
found.
