Sonny #2 - April 2 -July 9, 1999 - 8 hrsSonny is on the docks with Mike. He remembers meeting Brenda there, and then we go through other flashbacks of Brenda ("crazy love" as background music). Sonny and Mike sit on the bench at the docks. Mike asks if he is thinking of Brenda. All Sonny says is "go to hell Mike". Sonny says that if there was a better place to pay his respects to Brenda, he would. But where she ended up, he can't go. Mike understands. Mike tells him that he is afraid for Sonny, not knowing how to grieve. He talks about how others cry comfort each other etc, and then go on with theirlives. "But you don't get that, the going on. How long are you going to grieve with your bottle of scotch? Death means an end." Sonnycomplains about him, leaving when he was young. Mike stands up and says that Sonny is the one who is good at leaving. "You left Brenda, you left your life, and even tried to leave your mind. But somehow, someone dragged you back to your sanity. Do what Brenda would have wanted; start living your life.On the docks, Sonny stops a mugging, he is taken aback when he sees the young woman he has helped. She looks hauntingly like Brenda. Sonny back on the docks has a music montage of flashbacks of seeing Brenda on the docks in years past. Mike finds him, realizes he is still deep in mourning for Brenda. Sonny goes into Jake's, Hannah is his waitress (the girl he saved from the mugging). Sonny again stares at her with that stunned looked, the simiarity to Brenda is erie. They introduce themselves. Sonny and Hannah chat about nothing important. She thanks him again for helping her on the docks the other day. He orders a drink and when she places the order at the bar, a guy comes up and appears to be hassling her. Sonny makes the guy leave. Jake tells Sonny that the guy was her best waiter. Sonny has Luke send over some waitresses from Luke's. Jake tells Hannah to take her break and sit with Sonny, but Hannah get pissed because she wanted to show Jake that she could handle the jerky waiter and now she might have to go back to the day shift which means less tips. She says she can take care of herself and gets up from the table and goes back to work. Jason shows up at Jakes and tells Sonny about the drug bust. Sonny scolds him for being too close when it went down. Jason tells Sonny that Taggert shot at him but he doesn't think Taggert recognized him. Jason was grazed by the bullet, but refuses to see a doctor because he wants to go put Michael to bed and he leaves. Sonny gets up to leave and tries to pay for his drink with a large bill and tells Hannah she can keep the change, but she refuses. Sonny seems to like her pluck. Taggert is waiting for Sonny at the penthouse and tells him about the drug bust. Sonny says where he and Jason were and says he doesn't know anything about the anonymous tip the police got. Taggert says Moreno will retaliate against Sonny and Jason, then leaves. At Kelly's, Mike and Sonny run into each other and have an argument about their relationship and the role Mike should or shouldn't play in Sonny's life. Hannah asks Luke about what the deal with Sonny is. Brushed off by Luke, she is noticably more interested when Sonny drops by, but when Jason also arrives, 'accidentally' trips, pulling him down too. Carly who is jealously looking on is furious. Carly and AJ go dancing, Caly makes a show for Jason. Carly is jealous of Hannah, as she thinks Jason may be interested in Hannah. Carly and Hannah have words and step outside and proceed to slap each other. Sonny and Jason break up the fight. Carly tells Hanna to keep her hands off "my man". Sonny drags Hanna back inside Luke's. Sonny accuses Hanna of putting on an act to get his attention. Hanna admits that Sonny has saved her from being mugged and unemployed. She admits that she asked Luke about Sonny. Sonny gives her the sanitized version of his life story. Hanna admits an affair with a college professor. Sonny insists on seeing Hannah safely home from the club in his limousine. She resists, but agrees after he threatens to follow her home. Sonny dodges Hannah's questions about his profession but decides to truthfully disclose how he became a widower. Warming slightly to her new acquaintance, Hannah accepts Sonny's invitation for a home-cooked meal. Sonny receives a call that Lucky was killed in the fire and he heads to the site. Luke confronts him. Sonny comforting Liz. She collapsed after seeing the subway token that Lucky was wearing around his neck. Taggert told her that they found it on the body. After helping her up, Sonny tells Bobbie that she nor Liz needs to be there. He offers to have his driver take them home. Bobbie says she will take Liz home herself. Taggert walks by Sonny, and tells him that he & Jason will need to come down for questioning. He said, "If you dissappear, I will never stop looking for you." Luke & Laura are at the morgue. Luke goes in to view the body. He sees that it is in fact Lucky. Laura comes in and begs to see "her baby" one more time. Luke finally agrees to let her. She sees Lucky, and passes out. Luke catches her as she falls to the floor. As they are walking out of the morgue, Sonny & Jason walk in. Laura gets this look on her face that is total devastation, and calls Sonny a murderer. She reminds Sonny about the promises he made her, about his violence never touching her family. She yells some things at Sonny, and blames him for Lucky's death. Then she blames Jason for letting "an innocent little boy" live in a place targeted for "his kind" . Luke tries to get her to leave, and she turns on him. She tells Luke that he started all of this, by teaching Lucky to trust people like Sonny. She says that Luke made Lucky believe he was safe with people like Sonny, and that is why he never came home. Luke throws back that he didn't have a home to come back to, just a house of lies. She slaps him. Taggert steps in, and has an officer take Laura home. Luke walks out, leaving Sonny & Jason alone. Sonny walks into Luke's office at the club to find him holding a gun. He asks him if he is going after Moreno. Luke says "What makes you think I'm not after you, PARTNER ?" Sonny tells Luke that IF Moreno had anything to do with the fire, he would make sure he paid for it. Luke asks him what he means by " IF " ? Sonny tells Luke about AJ starting the warehouse fire. Sonny tries to apologize again, but Luke is to heartbroken to hear of it. Luke and Sonny are in Luke's in the back room. As Luke fingers a gun he insists that Sonny tell him who set the fire at the garage if it wasn't Moreno. Sonny informs him that it could have been A.J. When Luke questions Sonny in shocked disbelieve, Sonny explains that it was A.J. that torched the coffee warehouse. Luke realizes that it would make sense that it was A.J. because Moreno would not have made the messy mistake of killing Lucky just to get to Sonny. Immediately after he comes to this epithany, however, he bitterly tells Sonny that it is still Sonny's fault. Sonny once again apologizes for what has happened. Luke, glaring at Sonny, replies that there are no apologies and no excuses. He explains that he is mad because wasn't told of the danger and either was Lucky no matter where it was coming from. Luke says that Lucky is dead because of Sonny's priorities. Luke grabs the gun and his coat from his desk and heads for the door proclaiming that he can take care of A.J. AND Moreno, after all it's about time SOMEONE did. Sonny stops him short by saying "What about Lulu?" He goes on to say that she still needs a dad, too. Back at the club, Sonny warns Luke of the dangers of trying to kill Moreno OR A.J. He says that Luke would no doubt be killed, Lucky would still be gone, and Lulu would have no father. Revenge wouldn't bring Lucky back, Sonny explained, the only thing he can do isstick around and look after the people Lucky loved. Sonny then promises to take care of it. Luke askes why he should believe him when Sonny's "word doesn't mean spit" to him. As he walks out he says he doesn't need Sonny's help. Sonny is in the front room of Luke's and he announces to the staff that because the the tragic events last night the club would be closed until further notice. He says that they will get double their normal salary to cover tips. They all clear out as he grabs a fifth of alchol and sits at a table in visible anguish. Sonny is in the club still brooding when Hannah walks in. Sonny tells her about the club closing. She asks why and he tells her what happened. She looks shocked and Sonny looks miserable. Hannah, has a chat with Sonny on the dock. Hannah wants to know if Sonny is a criminal. Sonny tells her that he is a legitamate business man. Sonny is afraid to get close to Hannah because she might end up with a shortened lifespan, like his other friends and lovers. Hannah continues her questioning of Sonny until he gives her a brief synopsis of how each of his lovers and friends met with death. In view of recent events, Sonny feels that he cannot protect anyone. Even though he is very attracted to Hannah, he will not allow her to get close to him because it may mean her eventual and inevitable demise. Taggert drops by Luke's, and Sonny informs him to stop harassing his waitresses, while Hannah looks on. Robocop tactfully comments on Sonny's protectiveness towards his employees, and wonders aloud why Sonny wasn't nearly so protective or Lucky or Lily. Hannah follows Taggert out of Luke's and asks for the proper spelling of his name so it's right on her harassment complaint against him She says that the whole staff of Luke's will back the complaint. Taggert tells her Sonny's a racketeer Sonny tells her she's made a big mistake and chews her out. She tells him she doesn't like cops like Taggert and she doesn't scare easily. Sonny grabs her and kisses her. Sonny and Hannah share a very extended kiss outside Lukes. But before Sonny makes it to second base Hannah pulls away hailing too much too fast. Sonny tells her he's not looking for any gaurantees and has Johnny drive her home. Sonny confessed that the drugs she saw were planted, but he didn't reveal who. After opening himself up, he and Hannah shared a tender moment. Luke told Sonny to get rid of Moreno before the stakes get too high. Hannah and Sonny come close to making love. Jax sees a dark haired women standing outside of Kelly's in the rain.He spins her around, calling out Brenda's name. It is not Brenda, but Hannah Scott. He is shocked by her resemblance to Brenda, but gathers himself together and apologizes to her. He explains to her that Brenda was his fiance and that she died in a car accident. They part company, Hannah going to see Jason. Hannah grills Jason about Brenda, wanting to know if Sonny was attracted to her because she resembled Brenda. She tells him that she wants to be wanted for herself, not for her resemblance to someone else. Sonny was surprised at Hannah's questions, but answered them honestly, saying that she didn't remind him of Lily or Brenda, and that he was interested in getting to know the real Hannah. He told her that not a day went by that he didn't think of Lily, and that he would always remember the good times he spent with Brenda. Hannah seemed satisfied with Sonny's answers, and they planned to have dinner again. Sonny didn't get the kiss that he was so obviously after, but the chemistry was there, nonetheless. Sonny confronts Jason about not telling him that Hannah was wondering if she looks like Brenda. Hannah and Liz chat a bit at Kelly's. Jax pops in and apologizes for mistaking her for Brenda. Sonny and Jason discuss the Hannah situation, and Sonny asks, what he should of done, say, "Hey, Hannah, just so you know, you look like my ex-fiancee and my dead wife" Sonny and Hannah on the docks, they're flirting more. She worries about making himangry. He asks her out for tonight. She says yes, and he tells her it's formal. Sonny and Hannah meeting on the docks for their date. Sonny's PH: Hannah questions why Sonny's brought her there; he told her to dress up. Sonny opens the door, showing her a table full of desserts -- "You see anything you like?" Sonny tells Hannah about the deserts; she tells him about her past. It wasbad, she doesn't want to move too fast again. They kiss after he feeds her deserts. Sonny and Hannah are kissing passionatly on the couch, his shirt unbuttoned. He unzips her dress, she pulls away saying it's moving too fast, it's not him, it's her. He offers to have Johnny take her home if she wants; Johnny and Hannah leave while Sonny's collar is twisted, and Hannah's looking awfully disheveled. Later, Mike goes to Luke's where Sonny is covering for Luke and connecting with Hannah. Mike pushes Sonny to anger with his interference (he thinks Sonny is headed for trouble with Hannah, that Sonny is with her because of her resemblance to Brenda). Sonny later leaves the club, and the audience sees that someone is again watching Sonny with binoculars. Lila gave Chloe her proxy for the ELQ board meeting which was met with a surprise for all. Sonny showed up and demanded Carly leave the meeting which really ticked her off and made AJ mad also. The board meeting which was just a shouting match with nothing accomplished Hannah had redecorated the penthouse at Jason's request before she joined Sonny across the hall for the usual kiss on the couch. Just as the two began to disrobe there is a knock at the door. It was Johnny and another one of Sonny's men who came to discuss Moreno business. Moreno had made another attempt on Sonny's life. Realizing he must retaliate Sonny makes it clear to Benny that Jason must be kept clean of the Moreno situation. Laura askes Sonny for forgivness over Lucky's death. Jason waits for Sonny, upset that Sonny did not tell him about the bomb in his car. Jason tells Sonny that he Needs to take his territory back now! They argue and Benny comes in Sonny informs him that Jason is a neighbor and nothing else. Sonny dropped by Luke's office to tell him about Moreno's foiled attempt on his life. Since he knows that Moreno will not stop until he succeeds, Sonny told Luke that he believes he now has only 2 choices: to run or to take back his territory........and he's not running. Luke wants to know why Sonny is even telling him all this and Sonny says to warn him and let him know that he will keep him informed if anything is coming his way. Luke says it always comes his way, that Sonny messed things up enough in the past that he no longer has confidence in him. The door opens and Hannah overhears. Luke exits and Sonny and Hannah dance around what she overheard, to which she responds that she has "already learned not to ask questions." Later on Jason is at Jake's to play pool and Hannah shows up and challenges him to a game with a bet of $10. Carly's dream - The doorbell rings and Edward answers (as Reginald and Letitia have eloped!). Jason and Hannah enter, warmly welcomed by Edward. Hannah offers to slap that stupid hat off Carly's head. She and Jason start kissing in front of everyone, then Jason introduces her as "Hannah, my fiancée." Carly and Hannah begin another slagging match. Carly says, "Jason may marry you, but he'll never father your children!". Voilà ! Hannah is 9 months preggers. Everyone's at Kelly's. Carly is hauling in the bags. Kelly's is under new management, and no one knows who the new management is. Edward reminds everyone that it's traditional for the Q's to take up residence at Kelly's every time they lose their fortune. AJ plants a big wet one on Carly and tells her to rest up, it's going to be a LONG night (wink wink nudge nudge). The new owner walks in. It's Sonny "the smarmy hoodlum" (Edward's words). He throws them out. Carly whines, "My mom would never sell this place..." and right on cue, in walks Bobbie. Bobbie announces that she has no time to run the place since she wants to spend every moment with her grandson. Carly is thrilled! Edward comments that AJ III is depriving some village out there of an idiot. In walk Hannah and Jason with their own Michael. Bobbie exclaims, "There's my newest and favorite grandson!" As she and Hannah have gotten so close, Bobbie has adopted her. Hannah is more interesting, prettier, more fun to spend time with, AND they never argue!!! Later, In walks the other Michael, all done up like his daddy. Everyone agrees that everything wrong is Carly's fault. Then Bobbie and Hannah (dressed in mother-daughter outfits) haul in a giant cocktail shaker full of money to bail the Q's out of their mis-fortune. Edward comes outof the kitchen saying, "Is that money I smell?" Hannah hands bunches of it out to everyone except Carly. Bobbie and Hannah go off for a mother-daughter facial at Deception and Monica begs Jason to take her with him. He agrees if she promises not to speak to him (Carly has given him a headache). Monica is just grateful to be in Jason's presence. Everyone leaves to count the money and divide it "equally". Sonny orders Carly to scrub the floors and get the gum out from under the counter. **The End** |
