She questions him about why Hannah is still living with him. He tells her that he doesn't owe her any explanations. he admits he has an "I told you so" coming from her. She doesn't take advantage of this. She tells him that every second Hannah is there she is collecting info on everyone. Carly accuses Sonny of keeping Hannah around as he wants to hurt Hannah, to use her the way she did to him. He clarifies that he is simply using a once in a lifetime opportunity to feed bad info to the Feds. She isn't buying it and points out that he is putting Jason and himself at risk. She tells him if he doesn't get rid of Hannah that she will. Sonny grabs Carly and starts pulling her out of his penthouse. He tells her that her burning the witch at the stake skills are not needed. He menacingly warns her not to cross him in this. She warns him it isn't easy to pretend to love someone that you hate and she should know (meaning being married to AJ). She tells him if Jason goes to prison because Sonny kept Hannah around that it will be on his head. Carly made it clear to Sonny that he could do what the heck he wanted, and if that was prison, more power to him. But, he would *not* bring Jason down with him!
Monica has is out with Carly and tells her she knows she only married A.J. for his money. She mixes it up with Carly for a while, correcting her grammar etc. Sonny feeds Hannah the bait about a shipment coming in at 10:00. Of course she leaves immediately to tell her bosses and tells Sonny she's going to a sale at her favorite store. Jason comes over and tells Sonny that Hannah changed into a suit at Kelly's and went downtown. They show Hannah on the dock talking on the phone as agent Scott and Mike comes up to her. She tells Mike she's going for a job interview to be an assistant to the vice president and Mike buys it and also agrees that he won't tell Sonny. Carly comes over to get in Sonny's face again and Jason is put in the middle telling Carly to stop and Sonny not to blame Carly for Hannah's betrayal. Jason reminded Sonny that it was Hannah, not Carly who had betrayed him. Sonny told them that he was dealing with this situation the best he could. He said that what they weren't seeing is that Carly is just as bad as Hannah. Carly took immediate offense and said that she had never seduced someone to send them to prison. He threw in her face that she had sent Jason and Michael off, then called Jason a kidnapper. After more of this went on, Carly finally said, "You hate me because I'm the one who found out about Hannah." Sonny shot back , "I guess lying tramps recognize each other." Ow! Jason defended Carly saying that she had always stood by him and Sonny no matter what when they needed her. He reminded Sonny that he owes Carly. Sonny said, "Then God bless you if you believe that." Jason and Carly left.
Larkin followed Hannah from the meeting where she told her superiors about Sonny's shipment. She cut him off and sent him home once they were on the docks saying she didn't want Carly to see them together. He told her she did good, that she was acting more like an FBI agent, but that Sonny had better be at the bust the next night. Later, Jason and Carly found her talking to a bum guy. Carly gave the guy a wad of hundreds and sent him away. They suggested that they walk Hannah to the penthouse. She declined saying she didn't need babysitters. Jason said she needed to be security conscious, so they walked her anyway. At the penthouse, she begged Sonny to take her away to his island. He said he couldn't because of business obligations. She begged him to take her anywhere, becoming more insistent.
Back on the docks, Carly told Jason that no one had ever defended her the way he had to Sonny. Jason said he was only telling the truth. She said he was the best thing that had ever happened to her and they walked away arm in arm. Outside of Kelly's, Jason and Sonny are at a table discussing Hannah. Sonny tells Jason that he woke up in the middle of the night thinking that maybe Hannah is really trying to protect him.
Hannah is on the phone trying to track Sonny down. She hangs up the phone just as her cell phone starts to ring. Hannah is furious when she hears Larkin's voice. She tells him that he is going to blow her cover. Larkin reminds Hannah that her assignment is to make sure that Jason and Sonny are at the warehouse when the bust takes place. Hannah tells Larkin to go to hell and hangs up the phone. Hannah starts to leave, but is stopped by Johnny who asks if she is going somewhere. On the docks with Sonny and Jason discuss the bust tonight. When they see Hannah and Johnny, they start talking coffee business. Hannah asks Sonny to call Johnny off, but Sonny tells her that she needs protection. Hannah asks Sonny to come home with her where it is safe and she doesn't need a bodyguard. Sonny tells her sorry, but not tonight. Hannah is still trying to convince Sonny to some home and join her for dinner, but he says that he is going to be working most of the night. Hannah invites Jason to join her for a glass of wine, but he also declines. Hannah starts to get upset saying that she wants them all to be friends again. Sonny finally agrees to go with her, but Jason stays on the docks. Hannah keeps trying to get Jason to join them, but finally gives up. After Sonny and Hannah leave, Carly shows up and asks Jason if something big is going down. Knowing there is no sense in trying to talk Carly out of it, Jason motions for her to follow him.
Sonny has escorted Hannah back to the penthouse and is searching for his date book. Hannah asks why he needs and Sonny says that he has business tonight. Hannah is surprised since she thought they were going out to dinner. Sonny explains that he still has some business that he needs to take care of after dinner. Hannah begs Sonny to stay with her. Sonny asks what is wrong. Hannah insists that nothing is wrong, she just really needs him to stay with her tonight. Sonny finally agrees to stay, but he tells Hannah that she needs to tell him the truth.
Jason and Carly arrive in a cheap hotel room. Carly teases Jason saying that this must be his real apartment. It's bare, functional and doesn't have any knick knacks. Carly asks why they are there. Jason says that he has a clear view of pier 17. Moreno is landing a shipment tonight. He and Sonny set Hannah up to think that it was their shipment instead of Moreno's. Once Moreno is busted, this will be over. Carly doesn't think so and is worried that Jason will still end up getting caught. She is frustrated because Jason won't let her help. Jason tells Carly that he brought her along because he knew that she would just follow him if he didn't. Carly laughs and says that he is right. She tells Jason that no one ever tried to really see her for who she was until she met him. She thinks she knew even then that Jason would be the only person who ever really knew her. At the hotel, Carly asks Jason if she was the first. She knows that his accident happened in January and they met in May. She asks if he remembers that night. Jason says that he does. Carly tells him that she couldn't figure him out. He was just this guy who said what he meant. Carly asks if he ever misses those days. Jason says that kind of liked that she didn't know about the accident. She always thought that he was a little strange, but she didn't feel the need to teach him things. But he still learned. He learned that you have to be careful who you pick up in bars because it might change your life. Carly smiles at that comment and asks if ever wishes that he was at the bar the night Michael was conceived instead of AJ. Before Jason can answer, sirens are heard in the distance. Jason says it's starting and he and Carly go to the window to watch. FBI men swarm the area and start arresting people. Unfortunately, Roy is caught in the fray.
From a motel room, Jason and Carly watch as the FBI bust Moreno. Across the street, Roy is apprehended and taken in. In the room, Carly apologizes to Jason for the terrible things that she has done to him in the past and regrets her decision not to follow Jason, causing her to be separated from him. Jason comforts her and assures her that she could never betray him and claims that she and Hannah have nothing in common. Jason then thanks Carly for saving him and keeping him out of jail. He cautions her not to mention the evening's events to anyone.
At Sonny's penthouse, Hannah tells him that she is afraid for him and that she needs him to stay with her tonight. Sonny pretends not to understand why Hannah is frightened and probes her for details. The phone rings and Jason is on the other end. He tells Sonny that the bust went as expected. After Sonny hangs up the phone, he goes downstairs to get something to eat, leaving Hannah to receive the anticipated calls from her superiors. However, Sonny returns too quickly and Hannah's cell phone rings while he is in the room. Hannah answers and is instructed by her commanding officer to come down to their building as soon as possible. Hannah tells Sonny the same story that she told Mike the other day, that she applied for a new job and that the cell phone somehow relates to her prospective employment. Sonny asks her what she would do if she ever had to choose between a job and their relationship and Hannah promises that Sonny is more important to her than a job ever could be.
In the FBI building, Roy is chastised for having been at the warehouse when the bust went down. Roy apologizes and says that he is still learning Moreno's business, but mentions that he has an account number of the local with whom Moreno has been laundering money. The FBI tells Roy not to get too involved with Moreno's organization because they need him to bust Sonny Corinthos, given Hannah's apparent ineptitude. Roy is not pleased with his new assignment, but is told that he has no choice unless he desires to return to prison.
Carly returns to her room in the Quartermaine mansion to find A.J. waiting for her. He confronts his wife and demands that she behave as if she were really married to him. A.J. is upset that Carly turns her romantic life on and off whenever it pleases her. Carly replies that she will continue to pose as his wife publicly, but she refuses to sleep with him on command. A.J. agrees to her rules, but insists that if she should ever try to leave him, he will ensure that she never sees Michael again. Great scene as Sonny and Jason act out a conversation about the bust that is intended for Hannah's ears (great work as they play the scene as if Sonny & Jason are acting). Hannah put on her suit and reported to her boss at the FBI. Larkin was there, too, of course. They demanded to know why Sonny and Jason weren't at Pier 17 when the raid occurred. She lied that she tried but Sonny got a phone call and had to stay at home.
After Hannah leaves, Sonny and Jason had an intense discussion about her. Jason questioned how soon Sonny was going to ditch Hannah. Sonny said he wasn't through with her yet. He needs to wake up next to her one morning and know he doesn't want her around. Then he'll get rid of her.
Liz comes upon Taggert being his usual obnoxious self to Jason. Liz is all upset about how Taggert treated Jason and Jason is comforting her and telling her not to get upset. They talk about how she doesn't have to hide her feelings from him. He gets a call that his gift he ordered for Bobbie's wedding is in at Wyndham's and leaves.
Carly and A.J. are going to someone's house for his birthday and she promises she'll be a good little Quartermaine for it. She says she's going over to Bobbie's to help with the wedding decorations and A.J. accuses her of lying to go to Jason. She gets all huffy and leaves. Carly makes a little comment to her mother about Jerry and Bobbie blows up and tells Carly that if she can't be happy for her then it would be better if she didn't come to her wedding. Bobbie storms out pretty mad. She comes back, though and they make up.
On the docks, Hannah bids Sonny farewell as she goes off to another "job interview". Hannah apologizes to Sonny for leaving him alone for the afternoon, but she promises to make it up to him. Sonny says that she can make it up to him when she is CEO of, what… Hannah says that she will never be CEO of anything. She just didn't tell Sonny the details of the job interview because she really wants to get the job on her own. Sonny pretends to understand. Hannah asks him to wish her luck. Sonny says that she doesn't' need luck. She is one very capable lady. Hannah thanks him and leaves.
Carly is helping Bobbie put the finishing touches on her hair. They share a tender moment as Bobbie tells Carly how happy she is to have her daughter by her side she marries the man she loves. They laugh about the rocky path they took to get to where they are today. Bobbie tells Carly that she is living proof that miracles happen. When two people are meant to be together, they eventually find their way to each other. Carly leaves to check on arrangements. Bobbie hears a knock on the door and tells the person to come in. The door opens and Roy steps into the room. He stops in his tracks when he sees Bobbie all dressed up for her wedding. A quick description of Bobbie's appearance seems appropriate…A mauve colored, off the shoulder, ball type gown with flowers around the neckline and a very full skirt. Her hair is curly and pulled away from her face. Roy tells Bobbie that she looks…he asks if she is as happy as she looks. When Bobbie says that she is, Roy tells her that he is glad. Carly arrives, interrupting the moment, to bring Bobbie some gifts. Roy excuses himself saying that he is looking for Luke and leaves Carly and Bobbie alone. Carly hands Bobbie a package explaining that they kind of missed out on all of the proud mother moments so…Bobbie opens the box to reveal a handkerchief that Carly explains she made when she was eleven. It covers the "something blue" since she stitched her name in blue. Bobbie is thrilled by the gift, but even more stunned when she opens the second gift and finds a beautiful locket. Bobbie is moved to tears, but laughs when Carly confesses that she originally had a picture of herself on one side and Michael on the other. She changed her mind and left one side empty for Bobbie to fill.
On the docks, Jason tells Sonny that Bobbie is getting married in less than an hour. Jerry Jax is a disaster waiting to happen to Bobbie. He wants to know when the Feds are going to move in. Sonny says that he can't do anything because he gave Alexis his word. Jason is upset because he knows that Bobbie is making a huge mistake and he can't do anything. He asks Sonny what is to stop him from taking Jerry down. Jason tells Sonny that Bobbie was the one who put Michael into his arms for the first time. He couldn't tell Bobbie then that she was Michael's grandmother because he had to keep Carly's secret. But why should he have to keep Jerry's secret? He hates this for Bobbie He hates that Bobbie thinks Jerry is a great guy when he isn't. Sonny says that he hates it too. It's rotten to love somebody and then find out who they are. Sonny wants Marino out. He wants to drop one more tip through Hannah and get rid of her. He's worried that he is in over his head with her.
Hannah tells her superiors that she is close to nailing Sonny. She is informed that her time is up. They are sending in another agent to take over her case. Hannah begs for more time, but her request is denied. She also receives a warning about what will happen if she warns Sonny of the FBI investigation.
Meanwhile, the wedding guests are starting to arrive at the Brownstone. Carly announces that it is time for the wedding to start and asks everyone to take their seats. She leaves to go let Bobbie know that the it is time. Carly starts to say something, but stops herself saying that she has already said it all. She takes her bouquet from Bobbie and they walk out the door. Carly walks down the stairs and up the aisle. Bobbie follows, looking so happy. She makes her way down the aisle, stopping to smile at Luke and Lucas, and joins Jerry at the altar. As the minister is about to begin the ceremony, FBI agents storm into the Brownstone and inform Jerry that he is under arrest. Bobbie tries to step in, and Lucas has a fit. She sends him upstairs with Mac. Jerry is arrested on the charge of money laundering and is taken away insisting he's innocent. Bobbie clearly believes him. There was an interesting mix of people at this wedding: Alan and AJ, The Jax parents, Jax and Alexis, Mac and Felicia, Luke and Roy, Carly, and three extras…no Amy, no Audrey, no Monica, no Liz or Tammy. AJ and Alan offer to help, Carly sends them off, saying she'll take a cab.
Hannah interrupts Jason & Sonny, Sonny leaves with her. Back at the penthouse, Sonny looks distraught when Hannah tells him how bad her interview was. Carly goes to Jason and tells him what happened. She is stunned that he knew. She feels betrayed that he knew and didn't tell her or Bobbie, but eventually he makes her understand. He was just keeping his word…which she admires. She forgives him. They kiss…really kiss, no cheek peck here. She gets him to admit that he kissed her without any of her trickery. She tells him she is in love with him and knows that he loves her – not because he has told her but by the things he says and does. She tells him she wants to come home. Before he can respond, they are interrupted by Sonny. Carly leaves. Sonny tells Jason that Luke wants Sonny to meet him on the pier. Jason tells Sonny about Jerry’s arrest. Carly arrives at Bobbie’s. Roy leaves. Bobbie and Carly talk about Jerry. Carly admirably does not tell Bobbie that Jerry is guilty. They bond.
Luke and Sonny meet. Sonny admits that he knew about Jerry. Luke is angry. Sonny says he couldn’t tell Luke because he had given his word. They start to get into a pushing match but are separated by Jason and Roy. Sonny and Jason leave. Carly has returned to the Q’s. She and AJ are actually nice to each other. She tells AJ she does not want to fight with him. She tells him she is sorry for treating him badly as he has only tried to be nice to her. AJ invites her to go up to say goodnight to Michael. She declines saying she wants to look at the stars. She stands in the doorway and gazes upward clearly thinking about Jason. Musical Montage – sounded like a Sting song, A soulful song played while we watched: Carly touch her lips, Jax looking intently at his wedding band , Chloe and Ned hugging warmly, Liz and Jason riding the motorcycle, Carly kissing the engagement ring Jason gave her, Sonny looking out the window, then looking totally pissed as he turned away, Roy on the docks, Bobbie crying in her apartment.
Bobbie explains to Carly that she went to Jerry's and found the honeymoon tickets and itinerary -they were going to Paris. Bobbie states that she still believes in Jerry's innocence, and suspects a competitor set him up. She won't let Carly say anything negative about him. Bobbie gives a little speech about how precious love is (you can see Carly mentally applying the speech to her situation with Jason), they hug, and Carly leaves.
Jason arrives at Bobbie's, and tells her he's sorry. He knew about what Jerry was up to, he saw the receipts, and he didn't tell her. Bobbie is stricken, realizing the truth of Jerry's guilt. Bobbie asks if Jason is the one who turned Jerry in, or if he knew Jerry was going to be arrested, and Jason assures her he did not. He explains that he had given his word not to tell and apologizes again. Bobbie, crying, reminds him that he knew about Carly and Michael, too, and didn't tell her. How long had he known about Jerry? 5 or 6 months, he replies. Jason asks if there is anything at all he can do for her, and she replies that if he loves Carly, he should tell her.
Later, Sonny and Jason are in the penthouse when flowers arrive from Mike. Sonny is telling Jason how much he dreads the whole Thanksgiving dinner thing with Hannah when Carly arrives to speak to Jason. She asks him if he's sorry (referring to the kiss), he say no, she says she isn't either and departs. Sonny asks, "What's that about" and Jason replies "Probably total disaster".
Carly is at home with Michael, telling him in a low voice that they'll be "going home to Daddy real soon". AJ enters, and she covers with some story about how all she meant was that AJ didn't have much time for them, what with all his business affairs. The nanny comes and take Michael for his nap. AJ begins to tell her about vacation plans he is making, but she counters, saying they need to talk: she isn't happy, and feels they should spend sometime apart. AJ asks what she has in mind - he hardly sees her as it is - and she explains that she thinks they should separate. AJ doesn't like the suggestion at all, and Carly explains that he deserves more from a` marriage that she is willing to give to him. AJ states that he's sorry she's unhappy, but this is the life that she wanted, she's his wife, and "that's the way it's going to be". He threatens her with permanent loss of Michael and a return to Ferncliff, insisting "You're my wife and that's how it's going to stay!" "When hell freezes over", Carly quietly replies.
Sonny and Mike are at the penthouse. Mike has a big turkey, which he insists he won in a raffle - can they use it? Can he come over and help make Thanksgiving dinner? Sonny says no at first, but then Hannah comes in and he agrees. Mike leaves, pleased. Sonny asks Hannah if she has something on her mind, but she insists everything is fine, and they hug and kiss. Over her shoulder, Sonny looks grim.
Thanksgiving at the Quartermaines, they sang several rounds of "We Gather Together To Ask the Lord's Blessings" as Carly looked on from the door (most of the Q moments not shown as Carly had begged off with a headache and gone upstairs). Carly played with Michael in his room and told him that they had a lot to be thankful for, but the money and the stuff wasn't the most important thing. The most important thing was that they had someone who loved them and they'd be going to stay with him soon. She remembered her life with Jason from the day they met until the present in a montage of moments.
Hannah told Sonny how happy she was that they had invited Mike. Sonny reminded her that Mike had invited himself. Mike showed up and he and Sonny argued about everything from rotisserie turkey cooking vs oven turkey cooking to apple vs sausage dressing to yams vs garlic potatoes. While the guys are in the kitchen arguing, Hannah remembers her time with Sonny. Emily and Juan knocked at the door, interrupting her thoughts. (Sonny was the friend named Michael) Juan brought a loaf of bread to Sonny and wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving. Sonny thanked him. Hannah invited them to dinner, but they told her they had to get to the Quartermaines. After the left, Mike gave his usual eulogy glorifying Hannah.
Carly sees Liz give Jason a hug and does not seem too happy about it. After Liz leaves to go and give her painting to the professor of Lucky, Carly comes down and tells Jason that after their kiss they have now moved on to a new "place". He tells her that he trust's her not to hurt him but she can not take any chances that will end up hurting Michael. She says she will be patient and then tries to kiss him and he says with a smile that that is not thinking. She goes home and the last scene she is writing a note to AJ and then he walks in and she tells him that she is leaving with Michael and they are not coming back.
Hannah and Sonny are having lunch and Sonny is in a bad mood. She says that ever since she moved in they do not spend as much time together. He says that everything is fine. When Luke walks in he leaves. Sonny meets with Marino's guy and they have a meeting at midnight on the pier.
Taggert again warned Hannah about Moreno. Sonny looked on and was about to jump in the middle of it when Jason stopped him. Sonny said that was it, he was throwing Hannah out tonight. Jason said it was a good thing. Sonny told Jason about the meeting with Moreno and asked him to fill in. Jason said Moreno wouldn't like it, but Sonny pressured him to do it.
Carly told AJ she was leaving and taking Michael with her. AJ called a maid we didn't know they had, and asked her to take Michael upstairs. Carly and AJ got into an argument about who was the better parent and tried to draw Peggy into it. AJ goaded Carly by saying that Jason didn't want her and without Michael, wouldn't accept her. She told him she'd never be without her child. He threatened her by asking with Dr. Evans at Ferncliff would think about her walking out on Michael again. She told him she hadn't walked out on Michael, she'd left him with Jason where she knew he'd been safe and had given him the best father he could have ever had. AJ pressed further by asking her if she really thought it broke Jason's heart to see her marry him, the way it had broken his heart to hand Michael over to him. He told her she could have had it all, money, power and love. She scoffed at the love part and asked why he was holding on to her when they had tried and it just hadn't worked. He insisted that she had never tried. He told her to leave, but that Michael was staying. He also said that she'd be back, crying big crocodile tears when Jason wouldn't take her and he'd have to figure out how much he'd make her grovel before he took her back. Carly told him she'd be back with lawyers and police and whatever else it took and left.
Liz is having a bad day. She's a Kelly's, and sees a jar of change and when she went to pick it up she dropped it in the process. She started to cry just as Jason walked in. She told Jason that her art project of Lucky had not been accepted and she was devastated. Jason told her that Lucky would have loved it and wouldn't have cared if it was accepted or not. Liz said that she would give anything to be with Lucky for just one minute. She asked Jason if he'd do something for her, put change in the jukebox and played "their song". She asked Jason to dance with her and he did, holding her close while she closed her eyes and remembered. Carly looked through the window, saw them and started to cry. After a few minutes, she left. After the song ended, Liz pulled away and thanked Jason. She said she thought that maybe for a minute she could feel as though Lucky was there, but it didn't work. She said she had to accept that Lucky was gone, but that nothing could ever make the hurt go away. She wondered why she had to keep learning that lesson over and over. Jason said that some things happen fast, but you have to get over them slow. He told her he had to leave, that he had somewhere he had to be and asked if she'd be all right. She said she would and thanked him again. He left and she started to cry.
Sonny was at the penthouse and pulled out the cassette. Just then Hannah walked in and asked if he had missed her. Then she asked what the cassette was. He told her it was for her and that he'd like for them to listen to it together. She asked how about now and he said that was great. He was just getting ready to play it when her cell phone rang and Larkin demanded to see her now. She lied and said that she had an interview and had to do some research at the library. He said he wouldn't dream of interfering with her work and as soon as she left, he played the tape.
At the penthouse, there was a knock on the door and Carly came in. She establishes that Hannah isn't there, then begins to question Sonny what he knows about Elizabeth. Sonny points out that she (Carly) took Jason's son and married another man. He tells her that Jason takes her riding on his motorcycle and that Sonny hopes Jason does fall for Liz as then he would be free of Carly. Carly tells him he would love that (She unbuttons her blouse) because then he could stop holding himself back. She says, "I know what you want. I've known what you've wanted from the minute you laid eyes on me. And you hate it. You hate it that you want a woman because we're so inferior. (She starts to cry). We're so untrustworthy, except those little angelic beauties like your mother, like Lily or Hannah - whoever else, right? Doesn't even bother you that you stand there day after day, and you look at your best friend's girl and you think about what she might look like undressed. What bothers you is - what kills you is Jason. Poor Jason. Look who he trusted -- you." Sonny then says that the best thing he could do for Jason is to set him free. Sonny laughs, then smiles - big dimples, Carly laughs with him then licks her lips. He moves to kiss her haltingly, tentatively, seductively. He admits he might be wrong about her. Sonny pulls back and looks at her, smiling a little. She reaches over and hooks him into this vampish, passionate kiss. From there, we go into a weird montage while this awesome porno-type music is playing. We see Jason in the Limo going to the meeting with Moreno. He is sitting with some unknown body guard that we know is going to die because we’ve never seen him before. Must be Darius or Leo, who are the two men Sonny told Jason to take with him to the meeting. Then we flash to this cool scene in Sonny’s bedroom where he knocks the bedside light onto the floor to make room to toss Carly around. The light explodes on the floor with a star filter effect. They romp up onto the bed then and it cuts to Jason getting out of the limo with Darius/Leo. Moreno’s men greet him with a hail of gunfire and Jason dives to the ground. Then we go to a scene of Carly straddling Sonny and he rips her shirt off of her and it cuts to Jason getting up in the gunfire and diving over top of the limo. This then goes to Sonny rolling off of Carly and shots of both of them lying on their backs, looking very upset. The last thing we see in Jason lying motionless in the snow. Shoes are seen walking around the car next to which Jason is lying. It's Sorel and Moreno, and they half-jokingly discuss Jason's merits as "lieutenant" - his valor and unflagging loyalty to Sonny. Just as they prepare to finish him off, Jason suddenly rolls over and pulls his own gun, shooting Moreno, and rushes away in a hail of bullets pursued by Moreno's other gunmen Moreno is lying slumped against the wall, obviously badly wounded. Sorel walks over to him, gun drawn, and tells him that it has been a pleasure working for him and that he's learned a lot, but that "in this business there are limited opportunities for growth. We have to make the most of our opportunities, and I'm sure that in my position, you would do the same". Sorel prepares to shoot Moreno.
Sonny and Carly are in bed at Sonny's, both clutching their heads in the "what have I done" posture. Sonny tells Carly she can leave any time, and she laughs, snidely remarking "I'm excused?" They go back and forth a bit, and Sonny remarks "People like us, we light a match and the whole house burns". Carly wants a shower, but after telling her that it won't help, Sonny instructs her to just leave the dirty towel on the floor. He, wearing a robe, prepares to leave the room, and Carly wants to know where he's going, but he answers only "Does it matter? I need a drink".
Jason comes in as Sonny is pouring his drink. Without really looking at Jason, who is moving slowly and looks pretty rough, Sonny asks if the meeting went down as planned, and Jason answers that the meeting went wrong. Just then Carly comes down the stairs dressed in Sonny's shirt, saying that she can't find the towel. She stops dead when she sees Jason - Sonny is silent, Jason stricken, Carly horrified. Jason looks slowly from Sonny to Carly and turns to go. Carly goes to stop him, but Sonny grabs her and they struggle. She calls him a bastard and accuses him of setting her up so that Jason would see them together. He tells her "Don't flatter yourself - you're a whore". She tells him to go to hell and he quietly replies "Don't you get it? That's where we both belong." Carly is very distraught, pacing and saying that she'll make Jason understand, but Sonny says that Jason already understands. She says that Sonny is sick and twisted, and if he cared at all about Jason he wouldn't have let him walk out like that, but Sonny, still quiet, replies that Carly said it all when she appeared naked in his shirt, and that Jason "knows who you are now. Do you?" She goes slowly back upstairs, leaving Sonny sitting on the sofa, nodding knowingly over and over. Carly appears again, dressed this time. She says she changed the sheets and towels and everything is the way it was before - "It never happened". Carly says that Jason loves her and Sonny and that they both love Jason; no matter how screwed up she and Sonny get, Jason will understand and forgive them after he gets over being angry. Sonny replies that there is no reason for Jason to give them the time of day - she's a "two bit tramp", and he's worse than she is. Carly states that Sonny can leave it that way with Jason if he wants to, but that she's going to find him and turn it around. Sonny offers her money, "to make it official", but she turns him down, telling him he's going to need his money, as it's all he has, and that he's right about being worse than she is - he's the lowest. Carly leaves.
Hannah arrives at Sonny's. She speaks some nonsense about the library and her research, and asks him if he wants to come to bed, but he refuses. She kisses him goodnight, and we see that he can barely tolerate her touch.
Carly checks in to a hotel, and we see her standing on the balcony in the snow. Jason is walking slowly in the park in the snow, stumbling, standing still and holding his side. He is wounded.
Carly then enters from the garden. Edward tells her that Amanda Barrington has been calling for her all morning, then takes a good look at her and asks where in blazes has she been all night? Carly stammers, but AJ leaps in and provides the alibi - she was with poor, distraught Bobbie. Edward appears to accept this, is glad that she's home, and exits. Carly thanks AJ for covering for her. AJ informs Carly that the housekeeper told Edward that Carly was leaving him, but that Edward doesn't know Carly spent the night with Jason. Carly insists that she was not with Jason; she was in a hotel room alone, thinking about her life. AJ guesses that Jason didn't want Carly in his life once he saw that she didn't have Michael with her, and he pushes the point, mocking her. Carly says that Jason would never treat her that way, because he's good and strong and kind and smart and…"Spare me", says AJ. All he wants to know is if Carly is back. She says that she is, and AJ says "Welcome home, honey", kisses her cheek, and goes off laughing. Later, Carly makes a phone call to Jason, but of course he doesn't pick up. She begs him to call her, to give her a chance to explain; they've always gotten through their problems together in the past, they'll get through this one, too. Edward comes in as she hangs up, and tells her he doesn't want her to leave AJ. Carly says it is all Edward's fault because he's the one who convinced AJ to pursue Carly and Michael, that AJ just did these things to make Edward happy. Edward says she's a true Quartermaine - blame others, and think of yourself first. These qualities can't be learned, but must be inborn. He goes onto say that Carly should be patient with AJ, and that as AJ grows in confidence as a result, she might even find herself falling in love with her husband. Later, Carly tells Michael that it might take just a little longer than they had planned to get home to Daddy, because Mommy did something to make him mad, but she knows he'll forgive her.
At Sonny's penthouse Hannah is just getting up. She points out that Sonny never came to bed, but he brushes her off, explaining that he just has a lot on his mind. Just then Benny enters - he wants to speak to Sonny alone.. Benny informs Sonny that the limo driver, the Men, the guards have all disappeared, and that he fears Jason may be dead. Sonny says that he isn't dead, he came by last night but didn't say anything about any trouble. Benny tells Sonny that Moreno seems to have disappeared and Sorel is acting like he's in charge. Benny begins to advise Sonny not to get rid of Hannah just yet as it would invite trouble for him, but Sonny cuts him off, asking if Benny knows his business better than he does. Benny backpedals, and Sonny tells him to keep his advice to himself. Benny leaves. Hannah comes back in just as Sonny is leaving the room. She tells him that she just wants to help with whatever is wrong. He says he just wants to go upstairs, but she pushes - she goes to hug him, telling him that "one day we'll have everything". Sonny snaps "no!" and pushes her away. She wants to know why he's so upset, but he just mumbles that it's nothing.
Jason is lying in the snow as Liz strolls past. She sees the body, tentatively rolls it over, and is horrified to see that it is Jason. She calls his name, checks his pulse and begins slapping his face gently to try to rouse him. He opens his eyes, and asks for help. Liz sits him up and discovers that he is bleeding. He slumps over, but Liz once again sets him up, then with great difficulty gets him to his feet. She manages to get him to the boxcar, where she covers him with her coat. She wants to go get help for him, but he won't let her - no police, and she shouldn't be involved either. He asks her to fetch the first aid kit, and she leaves.
Back at Sonny's, there is a knock at the door and Johnny announces that Elizabeth is there to see Sonny. Curious, Sonny tells Johnny to let her in. She tells him that she has news about Jason, but, apologizing to Hannah, would like to speak to Sonny privately. Hannah says that's fine, she was just leaving. Liz tells Sonny that Jason has been shot, that he's in the boxcar and she's afraid he's dying. She explains that she found him in the snow, he has a wound in his side, and he needs a doctor but won't let her get one. Sonny grabs his coat and tells Liz to tell him where the boxcar is so he can help Jason - he'll drop her off first, as Jason is right in that she can't be involved. At the boxcar, Sonny wakes Jason, seeing his injury. Sonny asks why Jason didn't tell him last night that he'd been shot, but Jason replies "Just when was I supposed to mention it?" Jason tells Sonny that he thinks the bleeding is subsiding. He still refuses to go to the doctor. He tells Sonny that Elizabeth went to get a first aid kit. He tells Sonny that he will be ok. Sonny asks Jason if he would rather die than accept help from him. Jason shrugs off Sonny's help. Sonny tells Jason that last night he found out what he really is and what Carly really is. Sonny tells him that he doesn't have to hate him because he already hates himself. Jason tells Sonny to never speak to him about it again.
At the Q's, Carly is telling Michael that everything is going to work out. AJ enters the room accompanied by the court psychiatrist who is there to do a follow up on their family. Liz arrives at GH, she takes Bobbie aside and says that she needs her. It's an emergency. Liz frantically asks Bobbie to just come with her. Jason could be dying. She promises to explain on the way. Bobbie agrees and they leave together.
At the Q's, the psychiatrist tells AJ and Carly that Michael seems to be adjusting well. Carly is surprised to learn from the doctor that AJ requested the visit. AJ and Carly trade very polite and well veiled insults over the visit, which the doctor does not catch. She asks why Michael does not see Jason any more. AJ explains that is just seemed to work better that way and that Michael is much happier. The doctor excuses herself saying that she has another appointment. Once she is gone, Carly angrily tells AJ that he is not taking her child away from her! Carly tells AJ that she is through and she is taking Michael. AJ tells her to go ahead and try. She is a psycho case. She has abandoned her son on more than one occasion and now she wants to move him in with her mother who almost married a criminal. Carly walks out of the room without saying a word. As she goes, AJ yells after her that he will see her at dinner.
Sonny is trying to take Jason out of the boxcar when Liz and Bobbie arrive. They push Sonny aside and immediately start to work on Jason. Bobbie reluctantly tells Sonny, at his insistence, that she will not report this. Bobbie is cutting Jason's shirt to allow better access to his bullet wound. Liz and Sonny watch as Bobbie works on Jason. Liz promises Sonny that Bobbie is the only one she told. Sonny tells Liz that she cannot tell anyone or she will endanger Jason's life. He tells Liz that she can't come back to the boxcar. Liz says that she can't promise that. She explains that Lucky used to live there and Sonny nods in understanding. Meanwhile, Bobbie has finished bandaging Jason's wound and wants to take him to the hospital. Sonny says and no and Jason asks to speak to Sonny alone. Jason tells Sonny what happened. Sonny tells Jason that he is going to get him to a safe house. He steps out of the boxcar and Liz and Bobbie rush back in to tend to Jason. Liz and Bobbie are getting Jason ready to move. Jason tells them that they have to leave or Sonny's people won't be able to come. He thanks them for saving his life. They reluctantly leave Jason alone in the boxcar. Sonny arrives at the penthouse and finds Carly waiting for him. She begs him for news of Jason. She wants to find him and explain. Sonny refuses to tell Carly anything about Jason. As they argue, Hannah arrives. Carly turns to her and says that this is all her fault. Hannah looks confused, but Carly turns to her and says, "Little Federal Agent Scott".
At the boxcar, Jason is trying to step down and walk, but is having trouble. Liz arrives and asks if he is going somewhere. Jason says that he is going to check into his hotel and take care of himself. He doesn't want help from Sonny's people. He tells Liz that she doesn't listen ver well. Liz says that she knows of a place where he can hide. She asks him if he will let her help him. Jason says that he doesn't have much choice. Liz puts her arm around his waist and helps him walk away from the boxcar. Liz takes Jason to her art studio and tries to take care of him. She helps him lie down on the sofa and covers him in blankets. When she tells him that she is going to Sonny's to get antibiotics, Jason insists that she not notify Sonny of his whereabouts.
At Sonny's penthouse, Carly accuses Hannah of working for the FBI, which prompts Sonny to throw her out of the apartment. Alone with Hannah, Sonny informs her that he has know that she is a federal agent for months. He then plays the tape of Hannah with Larkin, but she continues to proclaim her love for him. She contends that she has been trying to protect him from the Feds and explains that she only gave her supervisors minimal information so that she could stay on the case. Sonny does not buy her claims and determines that she used him the same way that he has been using her. He tells her that he has been feeding her false information intentionally and insists that it hurt him to sleep with her. Crying, Hannah says that she was forced to choose between her job and Sonny and she maintains that she chose Sonny. Sonny remains unsympathetic and states that she made the wrong choice. Hannah is forced to depart when Sonny refuses to recognize her presence. Johnny tells Sonny that Jason was not at the boxcar. Sonny is furious and is screaming at Johnny when Elizabeth arrives. She picks up the medicine and quickly departs without revealing Jason's location. After she is gone, Sonny collects Hannah's belongings and instructs Johnny to deliver them to her. At Kelly's, Hannah asks Tammy for her old room, but Tammy refuses to rent to her. Carly enters the diner and berates the federal agent. Hannah storms out and runs directly into Taggert. Inside, Tammy receives a call from Liz, who says cryptically that she will be unable to work tomorrow. Carly overhears and interprets the call accordingly.
Elizabeth came to check on Jason and she again begged him to go to a hospital. He refused. He said that he was feeling a lot better and she felt his head with her hands and said they were too cold for her to tell if his fever had broken, so she felt his forehead with her cheek. She asked him if she wanted some soup and he said he thought he could eat some, so she left to go to Kelly's to pick some up. Carly had been watching through the window in the door and came in after she left. She stoked Jason's face and he said, "That was quick," without opening his eyes. Carly asked Jason if he was sick or what, then saw that he was shot. He asked her to leave him alone and she said she couldn't do that. She asked him who Elizabeth was to him and told him how she had seen them dancing that night. She told Jason how sorry she was and that she'd never do it again. He said that she had done it to hurt him and he knew that she'd do things like this in the future when she felt a need to hurt him. She swore she wouldn't, that it wasn't like that, that she loved him. He said that he loved her too (actually said the words!) but that it didn't matter any more. He told her to leave and to not come back. She started to cry and told him that she knew he hated her now, but that he would forgive her, because that's what he does. She left.
Carly confronted Elizabeth on the docks and Elizabeth warned her not to even think about going to her art studio and bothering Jason, that she was not welcome there. Carly tried to get up in her face and be intimidating, calling her 'little girl'. Elizabeth put the smack down on her saying that she knew Carly had done something to hurt him and that she wasn't going to have the chance to do it again until Jason was strong enough to fight for himself. Carly told her Jason didn't need to fight her and Elizabeth said that he didn't, because she'd do it for him. Carly told her she had gotten rid of one little angel and she could get rid of her too. Elizabeth smirked and said, "Oh, trust me, I'm nobody's little angel. You want a fight? You got one." She then stomped off and Carly yelled after her, 'He doesn't need you, he loves me!"
Hannah and Mike are on the docks. Hannah is standing right on the edge, and Mike, concerned, tells her to move back. She tells him that Sonny threw her out, that he found out she's a Federal Agent. Mike is shocked, and Hannah explains that she really loves Sonny and has been trying to protect him. Mike wants to know if she told Sonny herself, and she replies that she did not, he found out some other way. Mike demands to know how long Sonny has known, and Hannah replies that he has known for about six weeks. Mike wants to know if Sonny has been pretending all that time, and, realizing what Sonny has been going through, angrily states that she has been making fools of them all; using Sonny's father against him, she betrayed his son. Mike has one question: if Sonny threw her out, why is she still here? Mike storms off, and Hannah begins to cry. Sonny and Benny are at the penthouse awaiting a meeting with Sorel. Benny asks after Jason, and Sonny tells him that Jason won't be at the meeting. Johnny lets Sorel and one guard in. Sorel and Sonny exchange formalities, and Sorel says that he can answer any of Sonny's questions. Sonny, calm, has just one: "why shouldn't I kill you where you stand?" Sonny points out that Sorel called the meeting, the guards disappeared, the Limo disappeared, Jason was shot at, and ordinarily this would call for retaliation. Sorel says that it was all Moreno's idea, and that he knew nothing of the plan, but Sonny says that that is a lie, and demands to know where the guards are. Sorel tells him that the bodies will be delivered to their families, the Limo will be returned to Sonny tomorrow, and Jason took care of any retaliation when he killed Moreno. Sorel wants to know if Sonny plans to oppose him, but Sonny assures him that he plans to conduct business as usual and expects Sorel to do the same. Sorel leaves and Benny, satisfied, says that it is just like the old days. He has some documents for Sonny to look at, but Sonny replies that he can't look at them right now, he has someone to see, and exits.
Sonny is bringing flowers to Lily's grave, and says that she always understood him; he wants to talk to her before he does any more damage. He explains that Hannah filled the emptiness inside him, made him believe in love again, he trusted Hannah and she betrayed him. At first he wanted to hurt Hannah the way she hurt him, but instead he turned on Jason because Jason is in love with someone who's not good enough for him and Sonny wanted to show Jason that she's just a tramp, or at least that's what he told himself. Sonny states that he betrayed Jason, and has no honor left now. Sonny turns and sees Juan standing there, also bringing flowers to Lily's grave. Juan places his flowers next to Sonny's at the headstone, and asks Sonny if he visits often? Sonny says he does not, just when he's got a lot on his mind. Juan asks Sonny why he's being so nice, and Sonny replies that it's because he cares about Juan. Juan is a little surprised, and Sonny goes on to explain that if he didn't care about Juan he would have let Juan work for him the first time he asked. Juan says, if that's the case, what about Jason? He's Sonny's best friend. Sonny explains that Jason is a grown man and can make up his own mind, but that Sonny wants Juan to have a good life, to have a future. Juan wants to get to know Sonny, and Sonny explains that at first he was pushing Juan away because he cared about him, but now he thinks that's a bad idea, because Juan might start to do that, too, and one day find that his life is empty. He reiterates that he never will allow Juan to work for him, but allows that maybe they can be friends. Juan agrees, stating that he thinks it's what Lily would have wanted. Sonny isn't sure about that, but it's a nice thought. Sonny agrees to give Juan a ride home, and they leave together.
Sonny and Benny are at Sonny's penthouse, planning how to sort out the "Moreno mess". Benny wonders why Jason isn't handling the problem, since he is more familiar with both the docks and the Moreno business, but Sonny says that they need to plan on doing without Jason for a while. Mike enters, apologizing to Benny for needing to speak with his son alone, but Benny is just leaving anyway. Mike wants to know how Sonny could go on with business as usual after discovering that Hannah is an FBI agent and explains that he feels like a fool, being taken in first by Hannah, then by Sonny pretending that he loved her. Sonny explains that if he could make Mike believe that he loved Hannah, she'd believe it, too. Mike tells Sonny that he saw Hannah, she's brokenhearted; maybe it wasn't all an act, but Sonny doesn't believe it. He says that one thing is true: "She's an FBI agent doing her job". Elizabeth goes to her studio and is frightened to find that Jason is not where she left him. He comes in after a minute or two, and tells her that he was just down the hall washing up (there's running water in the studio, but no hot water). As Elizabeth heats up some soup for him on the hot plate, he tells her that he wants to get out and that she shouldn't be involved.
Carly and Michael are at General Hospital to see Michael's doctor. The doctor tells Carly that Michael is in perfect health, but he's surprised that AJ missed the appointment. Carly makes an excuse about AJ being busy at work, and the doctor leaves after consulting briefly with Audrey. Carly hands Michael off to a nurse and goes to speak to Audrey. They exchange pleasantries, and Carly says she is planning to repaint Michael's nursery - does Audrey think that the artistic Elizabeth might have time to help her? Audrey says that Elizabeth is very busy, working twenty hours a day on some "project". Just then AJ enters, and he is quite annoyed with Carly, accusing her of deliberately changing the time of the appointment so as to make him look bad for missing it. They spar verbally until Alan appears, giving him a chance to chat politely with Carly before she leaves.
Carly arrives at Elizabeth's studio, and watches unseen from the door as Elizabeth feeds Jason the soup and chats with him. She hides when Elizabeth leaves to go to work at Kelly's, then pulls the fire alarm outside the studio door. Carly rushes off after pulling the fire alarm in the building that houses Liz's art studio. Jason opens the door to peek out and sees nothing. He goes back inside and pulls the shade on the door. Carly is watching around the corner to see what he does. She looks disappointed when Jason does not come out again. The fire department has arrived and is making everyone leave the building. Carly tries to find out if Jason has left, but the fireman makes her leave. He then breaks down the door of Liz's studio with an axe and makes Jason leave as well.
Sonny happens along just as Taggert is giving Hannah a comforting hug. Taggert asks Sonny if there is a problem. Sonny tells him not any more and walks away. Jason gingerly makes his way down to the docks and tries to sit inconspicuously on a bench. Carly finds him and asks if he is ok. She pretends that she knows nothing about the fire alarm and offers to help. She says that she wants to take care of him. Jason accuses her of pulling the alarm and she can't deny it. He angrily asks what it is going to take to make her quit. He asks her what he is going to have to do. Carly tells Jason that she can't quit and she won't, ever. She says that she loves him and deep down she knows that he still needs her. She messes up and she is a lot of trouble. She knows that she is a selfish person, but she knows that his life is better because she is in it. She apologizes for making such a mess of things with the fire alarm. She just wanted him to run out and then she could take care of him. She didn't know this was going to happen. Jason says that he doesn't care what she wants to happen. Carly tries to convince Jason to let her take him to Bobbie's. She can't just leave him out here. Liz walks up as Jason and Carly are talking. She stays back while Jason tells Carly that it is her fault that he is outside in the first place. He asks her if she realizes what she has done. He could be in danger because of her. His wound could start bleeding again and then he would have to go to the hospital. The cops could be waiting for him and all because she won't leave him alone. Carly says that she can get him out of here. Jason replies that he would rather be any place than with her. Carly tells Jason that she only wanted to keep him safe. Jason tells Carly that he doesn't care what she wants. He asks if she can get that. He isn't going anywhere with her. He tells her to stay the hell away from him. Carly finally gives in and leaves. Liz rushes up as Jason tries to stand up. She puts her arm around him to help him walk just as the fire department tells everyone that they can go back into the building. Jason drapes his arm over Liz's shoulder for support just as Nikolas walks. Nikolas does not look happy as he watches Liz and Jason walking away with their arms around each other.
Sonny arrives at Jax's penthouse. Jax thanks him for coming. Sonny says that this had better be good. Jax opens a suitcase to display a large amount of cash. He tells Sonny that he needs his expertise and he is willing to pay for it. Sonny says that Jax must want something real bad. Jax explains to Sonny that he wants to get Jerry out of the country. He will pay Sonny any amount of money to make it happen. Sonny asks Jax what he would ever need from him. Jax tells Sonny that they are alike in some ways. He may not need him now, but he may need him someday. He never imagined that he would need Sonny, but things happen. Sonny asks Jax if he has any idea what it means to owe him. Jax assures Sonny that he will pay him back when the time comes.
Jason is slumped over on the couch in Liz's art studio. As gently as she can, Liz sits him up so that she can check his wound. She carefully removes the bandage so that she can assess the damage and change the dressing. (A very nice view of Jason's chest, for those who are interested!) As she leans over him to examine the wound, Nikolas who has followed them to her studio, pushes open the door a little to see what is going on. Having completely misinterpreted the situation, Nikolas angrily pushes open the door and yells at Jason to get the hell away from Liz.
Hannah is standing on the docks when Carly arrives. Carly taunts her about Sonny, but Hannah doesn't react. Then Carly tells Hannah that she wasn't even out the door before Sonny moved on to something better. Suddenly, Hannah is interested. She demands to know what Carly means. Carly tells Hannah that Sonny was sleeping with other women while they were having an affair. She also informs Agent Scott that Sonny took no joy in their relationship and insinuates that he was with her the night of the last snowstorm. Hannah refutes Carly's accusations and becomes so provoked that she lunges at Carly. As the two fight, Taggert appears and stops things before they go too far. Taggert breaks them up and orders Carly to leave. Carly does depart, but not before telling Hannah that Taggert is only interested in putting Sonny behind bars, not in being her friend.
At Jax's penthouse, Sonny tells Jax that he will help him, but reminds Jax that he is participating in a life of crime. The two disagree about many things, including Sonny's treatment of Brenda, but they eventually reach an agreement. Sonny will make Jerry disappear if Jax agrees to be in his debt and owe him a favor, which Jax does. Sonny and Jax decide to work together in Brenda's honor, although Jax is reluctant to believe that Sonny's behavior would please Brenda.
In the art studio, Nikolas confronts Elizabeth and Jason. When Liz won't answer his questions, Nikolas attacks Jason, pushing him into a wall. Elizabeth becomes very angry and demands to know what Nikolas' motivations are. Nikolas responds unkindly, rubbing Lucky's death in her face and accusing Liz of moving on too quickly. In an effort to get Nikolas to leave, Elizabeth tells him that she is sleeping with Jason and throws the young Cassadine out, claiming that she and Jason were about to make love when he entered the studio. After Nikolas has left, Liz is worried about Jason's health because Nikolas' anger resulted in a reopening of Jason's wound. As she bandages her friend, Jason confesses that he feels bad for intruding on her life and offers to call Sonny and have him bring help. Liz contends that Jason does not truly desire to leave the studio and he reluctantly agrees. The two then share a few laughs and talk about the things that they have in common. Jason reveals that he watches Liz paint when she thinks that he is sleeping and tells her that she talks and sings to herself, which causes Liz to laugh.
At General Hospital, Tony runs into Bobbie and they are discussing Lucas when Carly interrupts. Bobbie can tell that Carly is distressed about something, but Carly quickly changes the subject, asking about Jerry. Bobbie tells her daughter that she broke off her engagement with Jerry, but admits that she is unsure if she made the right decision. Carly is confident that Bobbie did the right thing, but becomes emotional when discussing how sometimes people must do things that hurt others. Bobbie again asks Carly if she is doing okay and Carly reveals that she hurt Jason in a way that he might never be able to forgive. Despite Carly's declaration that Jason does not love her anymore, Bobbie tells her daughter that Jason will always love her and that he will eventually forgive her.
On the docks, Sonny runs into Carly. Sonny insists that Jason will never forgive either one of them, but Carly refuses to believe him. She claims that she wants to restore her relationship with Jason, but tells Sonny that he does not want to do so and that is the difference between the two of them.
Jax met Sonny on the docks and Sonny told him that Jerry's departure was all arranged. He and Jax haggled about the details: Jax wanted them and Sonny didn't want to give them. They discussed which of them was taking the greatest risk. After Jax was skeptical about Sonny's means for about the fifth time, Sonny reminded him who had come to whom for help. Jax told him he'd have Jerry on the docks to leave in two hours.
Hannah met Sonny on the dock they walked past one another without acknowledgement. Bobbie hurried up and asked Hannah how long she had been there and if she'd see anyone leave. Hannah said that she thought she had heard a speedboat take off, said good-bye and left.
It's Christmas at the Quartermaine residence, and everyone is arguing about everything, including the decorations. Later, as Carly decorates the tree, she tells Michael how she had thought they'd be celebrating the holiday with Jason this year, but she's still confident that if they're not with him this year, they certainly will be next year, or maybe the year after that. Edward enters - he approves of how Carly is decorating the tree and takes a moment to chat with Michael before calling Leticia to take him away. Edward encourages Carly to go to a business lunch with AJ, but Carly isn't having any of it. Edward persists in talking up AJ, trying to persuade Carly that AJ and ELQ both need her. Edward then leaves Carly to her tree decorating. AJ enters, reminding Carly of the business lunch and insisting that she attend with him, but she won't go. She wants to talk about the divorce, and they proceed to bicker. Carly decides that she'll put a good face on it in front of the family, she'll decorate the tree, but she won't help out with ELQ business, and AJ retaliates by telling her that she may only see Michael in the Quartermaine house. He threatens that if she takes Michael off the property she'll regret it. Later, Lila is with Carly and Michael as Carly puts the finishing touches on the tree, and suggests pointedly that "sometimes it's a good idea to know when to stop". Carly finds the gold ID tag that she had given Jason, and Lila explains that Jason gave it to her to remember him. Carly puts it on the tree as Monica and Alan enter, exclaiming over the beautiful job Carly has done on the Christmas tree.
Jason is still at Elizabeth's studio, and Carly is watching from outside the door as he rises and moves around in obvious pain. She leaves.
At Kelly's Diner, Carly tells Bobbie, very quietly, that Jason has been shot, and she is not happy to discover that not only does Bobbie already know this, but also she saw Jason and didn't see fit to tell Carly about it. Carly gets to the point, though - Jason seems to be in bad shape, and she wants Bobbie to come look at him.
As Liz is leaving the diner, Sonny is waiting. He asks her about Jason, but she tells him that Jason just wants to be left alone. Sonny persists - does Jason need medicine? A doctor? Is he in pain? Liz explains that Jason is in pain, but not just physical pain - something seems to have happened that is causing him emotional distress. Sonny acknowledges this, but refuses to explain what happened. He offers her money to help cover Jason's expenses, but she turns him down and leaves. Mike arrives, and tells Sonny that he is worried about Jason. Sonny blows him off, and as Mike leaves he reminds him that Jason was the one watching his back, and warns him to be careful. Down the street, Sorel cautions another man that "it must look like and accident" and the man assures Sorel that it will.
Carly and Bobbie arrive at the studio, but when they knock, Jason just tells Carly to go away. She points out that she has brought Bobbie, and Jason reluctantly lets them in. Bobbie inspects the wound and changes the dressing, pronouncing it a little better, but instructs Jason to call her if it opens up again. Bobbie leaves, and Jason wants Carly to go, too, but she refuses. He insists, explaining that it hurts him to think of her with Sonny, but still she refuses to go; she wants to help him, to explain, to apologize. They go back and forth a couple times, and as Carly is insisting that Jason cares about her and she must be with him, Liz enters and demands to know what Carly is doing there after she told her to stay away.
Roy, Sonny and a worker are on the loading docks. Sonny is explaining about a shipment when Roy shouts for Sonny to "look out!" and we see a loaded pallet falling towards him. Roy pushes Sonny out of the way just in time to save him from being crushed by a falling pallet of coffee beans. The foreman makes sure that everyone is ok and then demands to know what happens. Roy looks around and walks over to Sonny. He tells him that this was no accident.
Liz arrives at the studio and is not happy to see Carly. She asks Carly what it is going to take to get through to her. This is her studio. Jason is her guest and Carly is not welcome. Carly tells Liz that she is in way over her head. Liz tells Carly to tell that to her husband. Carly ignores that comment and tells Liz that Jason needs help. Liz says that Jason needs rest and quiet. And that means Carly has to go. Now. Carly says that she isn't leaving because Jason doesn't want her to. She turns to Jason and asks him to tell Liz that he doesn't want her to leave. Jason stands up and tells Carly that he asked her to go and he meant it. Liz says that that is good enough for her. She tells Carly that she wants her gone because Jason needs his rest and he obviously doesn't want Carly around. Uh oh, Liz has done it now. Carly is NOT happy! She turns to Liz in total cat fight mode ready to defend her man. She angrily tells Liz to stop because she doesn't know squat about anything. She is just a little girl scout. She just wants to put Jason up on a pedestal, worship him for a little while…Jason tells Carly to stop, but both women ignore him. Liz tells Carly that all she is, is someone else's wife. Carly tells Liz that she didn't love her little boyfriend very much. If she did, she wouldn't disrespect him like she this. Liz knows that Lucky was her cousin. She obviously didn't care about her own boyfriend and that is why she is trying to steal Jason. Liz tells Carly that she really does live up to her reputation. Jason steps in when Carly lunges for Liz. He tells Carly that she is leaving and demands that she go NOW. Carly finally leaves. Once Carly is gone, Jason apologizes to Liz. He tells her that he should be the one to leave.
At the warehouse, the crane operator nervously explains to Sonny that the winch froze and that he couldn't do anything. He apologizes profusely, but Sonny tells him it's fine. Sonny thanks Roy for the save and then offers to buy him a cup of coffee . Sonny tells Roy that he has some explaining to do. At Kelly's, Sonny tells Roy that he already knew that the incident at the warehouse was not an accident. He is curious to know how Roy knew and why he didn't warn him before hand. Roy says that he didn't know until a split second before it happened. He goes on to explain that the new shipment wasn't due until tomorrow. It wasn't really necessary to move all that stuff around today. Roy explains that he also noticed that the crane was over loaded and that the pallet was positioned right over Sonny's head. Sonny asks Roy why he didn't just shove him out of the way and leave it at that. Roy says that he thinks that he might be working the wrong end of Sonny's business.
Liz tells Jason to forget it. He is not leaving. Jason tells her that Carly is not going to let up and it isn't fair. She already lied to Nikolas about them sleeping together and he doesn't want her to have to lie anymore. And he definitely doesn't want her to have to take on Carly. Liz insists that Jason stay. She already lied to Nikolas. Why let it be for nothing. And she can handle Carly if she has to. She knows that she can't make him stay, but he is her friend. And if he disappears, all she is going to do is worry about him. Besides, she kind of likes having him around. Liz laughs in relief when Jason suggests getting a padlock for the door. She gets him settled back on the couch and says that she is going to get him something to eat. She asks him to promise that he will be there when she gets back. Jason promises and Liz leaves with instructions for him to rest.
Sonny tells Roy that he would have thought that twenty years in prison would have been enough. Roy says that he is just a guy who doesn't want to be moving coffee bags around for the rest of his whole life. Sonny says that he will think about it. He then gives Roy money. A bonus for saving his life. Roy thanks him and leaves Kelly's. Sonny prepares to follow, but stops when Hannah arrives. He walks past her without saying a word while Hannah watches him go with a sad look on her face.
Sonny arrives at his penthouse to find Carly waiting for him. Sonny agrees to see Carly but tells her to make it quick and make it different. Carly tells Sonny that Jason is in trouble. He was shot and now he is relying on a teenager to take care of him. And it's probably their fault. Sonny tells Carly that Jason knows to ask for help if he needs it. Carly is not pleased with that answer at all! Sonny tells her that he listened to what she had to say. Carly tells him to trying hearing it next time.
At Liz's art studio, Jason is asleep on the couch. He wakes up when Audrey lets herself in and says "Oh my God". Jason looks up and sees Audrey. Knowing that this is just more trouble for Liz, he lays his head back on the couch and closes his eyes in resignation. Understandably misinterpreting the situation, especially after accidentally overhearing Nikolas and Liz's earlier discussion, Audrey informs Jason that Liz is barely 18 years old and that she has hardly gotten over Lucky's death. Jason tries to protests saying that Audrey has misunderstood. Liz arrives just as Audrey is telling Jason that she doesn't want him anywhere near her granddaughter. Liz informs her grandmother that she isn't going to let her send Jason away. Liz refuses to permit her grandmother to mistreat Jason. Jason leaves in an effort to give Liz and Audrey a chance to sort things out. After he has left, Audrey expresses her disappointment in her granddaughter, but Liz expresses equal disappointment in Audrey. Liz then offers to move out of Audrey's home and move into the art studio so that her grandmother will be unable to make decisions for her in the future.
Carly tells Sonny that she tried to talk to Jason, but he can't seem to forgive her. Regardless, Jason still needs help. She begs Sonny to give Jason the help he needs. Sonny says that he tried, but Jason doesn't want his help. Jason is his best friend. Jason has never done him wrong. And how does he repay him for everything he has done? He twisted a knife in Jason's gut and heart. He can't go back to Jason knowing how he has hurt him. Carly says that they can't let a little waitress take care of him. Sonny tells Carly that Jason doesn't want them in his life. They have both lost him. Carly says that they may be the only two people who know how each other is feeling. Sonny claims to have done all that he could possibly do and tells Carly that Jason will eventually come around. Sonny then insists that the whole situation is all about Carly and maintains that Jason would be better off without her. Carly, however, contends that Sonny is too arrogant to apologize to his friend. Sonny tells her that Jason isn't going to accept help from someone he hates. Carly assures him that Jason could never hate him. Sonny instructs Mrs. Quartermaine to leave and has Johnny accompany her to the elevator.
At the Grille, Carly finally arrives, but Alan and Monica have already eaten and quickly leave. A.J. and Carly proceed with Quartermaine tradition and bicker about anything and everything.
On the docks, Sonny encounters Liz and asks about Jason's condition. Liz provides the requisite details and then heads off. Liz locates Jason and returns him to her studio. Jason informs Liz that he has to leave because he complicates her life. Liz replies that she makes her own decisions and urges Jason not to tell her what to do. After she is gone, Hannah spies her former lover and asks him to stay and talk to her. She again professes her love for Sonny and pleads for a chance to prove it Sonny responds by telling Hannah that he does not care about her and tells her never to speak to him again.
Emily called Jason and left a message saying she missed him and would like to see him. Carly came in and heard most of the message, then asked Emily if maybe Jason was sick of hearing about the teenage wasteland she calls a life. Emily shot back that she was sure Carly knew where Jason was because she did little but dog his every step. Carly told her she wouldn't even justify that with a response (which of course she does), but would say that Jason was where he could pick up the phone at any time and call her if he wanted to talk to her. Emily stomped out and AJ entered. He suggested that perhaps Carly's foul mood of late was because Jason had cut her off. He then informed her that the rules of her marriage were about to change. Carly asked AJ what more he wanted. She said that he had Michael and that was what he really wanted. AJ told her that either she start acting like the perfect wife again or he would divorce her, get sole custody of Michael and lock her away in Ferncliff. She told him that even if she played along, all he'd have would be a wife that doesn't even like him. He told her that liking him wasn't a condition of their marriage. Edward entered just then and commented on the two of them being the perfect Quartermaine couple. They began to discuss the upcoming party AJ and Carly were going to that night for business. Edward said he was happy not to be going and be spending the evening with Lila. Monica and Alan came in and said there was no way they were going. Carly said that she was looking forward to it. After the guys left, Monica started griping at Carly about her attitude and Carly let it be known that she doesn't even like being there. Monica told her that everyone in the house was as anxious for her to be gone as she was to go. Carly said that at least they agreed on something, then asked Monica what she suggested they do about it. Monica said she didn't know yet, but until she thought of something, Carly had better sit tight and not hurt AJ. She warned Carly that she could be either her ally or her worst nightmare. Carly said fine, but that she'd better be fast about it because patience was not her strong suit. Later, Monica tried with only moderate success to convince Alan that AJ and Carly's marriage is a disaster that needs to end.
Jason and Liz are at the studio. She examines his wound and determines that it is healing, but he is more concerned with her argument with Audrey. Liz explains that she must be her own person and not let Audrey or anyone else tell her how to live her life. Later, she is sketching fruit as her lifts a heavy book to build up the injured arm. Liz scolds him about doing too much, then leaves to go to the diner to get food. Back at the studio, Jason is just coming in the door. He tries to get his coat off, but isn't successful before Liz returns with the lunch and a little Christmas tree in a bucket. Jason can see that something is troubling her and she mentions meeting Nikolas at the diner, but doesn't want to discuss it. Liz is chatting on about Christmas Past when she suddenly notices that Jason has his jacket on. She gives him a lecture about doing too much, then makes a deal - she'll help him off with the jacket if he'll help her decorate the tree. They decorate the tree with paper chains and are companionable with one another.
Hannah slips out the door of the diner in time to see Sonny walking past. She wishes him a merry Christmas, and he replies "not this year". Jason and Elizabeth are fooling with Michael's globe, playing the "tell one fact about…" game. He knows some facts about Ethiopia, which impresses her; she can't come up with any about his choice for her - Uzbekistan.
At the GH Christmas party, As Sonny waits for Stefan, Carly arrives with Michael. She stops to talk to Sonny briefly and is disappointed to learn that Jason is not there. This is the first time she calls him "Uncle Sonny" to Michael.
At GH, Liz hears Jason call her name. She is happy to see him up and about. He explains that he just wanted to be able to watch Michael enjoy the party from a distance. He teases her about her costume and playfully steals her hat. Nikolas watches in disgust as Liz tries to get her hat back from Jason. Unable to take it any longer, Nik grabs Jason and tells him to leave Liz alone. Liz pulls Nik off Jason and tells him to stay out of it. Nik isn't anywhere near ready to let this one go and lunges at Jason again. Jason tells Nik to stay out of it, but Nik doesn't listen. Carly walks off of the elevator just as Nik screams at Jason that he doesn't own Liz just because he is sleeping with her, which causes Jason to punch Nik. Nik and Jason continue to fight until Sonny and Stefan pull them apart. Liz tells Nikolas that he has not right to tell her what to do. Jason says that he is going to leave and Liz says that she is going with him. Audrey starts to protest, but Liz turns and tells her that she doesn't care what any of them think. This is her life. With that, Liz and Jason get onto to the elevator with Nik "I don't know when to quit", screaming after Liz that she won't have a life when Jason is through with her. Santa arrives as the stunned onlookers watch Jason and Liz go.
Alan is reading the Christmas story from the Bible with background music supplied by Dave Koz. As he finishes reading, he turns the festivities over to Santa who begins to hand out gifts amidst cheers from the children! He calls for help from his elves. The "outing" of the Jason/Liz romance is the talk of the Christmas party. Bobbie walks over to Carly and offers her a comforting hug. Carly is understandably upset at the news that Jason and Liz are sleeping together. Alan and Monica discuss whether or not they should talk to Jason, but decide against it. While "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Dave Koz plays to a music montage of the Q's share Christmas together, Jax and Chloe share a kiss while Ned and Alexis do the same, Emily and Juan share a kiss under the mistletoe, Bobbie is alone with a gift that Jerry had delivered to the hospital, Roy comes across Hannah on the docks and gathers her up into a comforting hug. Alone, Sonny stares out the window of his penthouse and watches the snow fall. Tammy and Mike leave together happily arm in arm. At the art studio, Liz presents Jason with a Christmas gift and a kiss on the cheek. Jason is clearly touched by the gesture. Stefan arrives at Laura's with her Christmas gift. He is saddened when no one answers his knock. The reunited Scorpio's are happily gathered around the tree.
Carly runs into Sonny on the dock. They once again rehash their betrayal of Jason. Carly is optimistic about Jason forgiving her; Sonny is not. Jason is in the studio with Liz, who asks what’s bothering him. He talks in circles about whether he can trust Sonny again. Liz goes to get Jason breakfast. Meanwhile, Bobbie stops by the studio to check on Jason. She tells him that Liz does not need to reputation of being known as his girlfriend. Liz returns to the studio and Jason tells her that it’s time for him to leave. Jason tells Liz that it is time for him to figure out how to live his life and that he’s grateful for what she’s done for him. Liz makes a speech about how being with him showed her how she wants to live her life – alone, in the studio. Well, not exactly alone, she really meant alone with him. He tells her that it’s his turn to learn how to live his life. Jason leaves.
Carly goes to see Bobbie at the hospital. She really wants an update on Jason. When Bobbie is not as sympathetic as Carly expects, Carly leaves. She runs into Luke at the elevator. They exchange sarcastic “Happy Holidays”.
Sonny and Hannah cross paths. Hannah tries to talk to Sonny and he brushes her off. Roy brought coffee invoices to Sonny and Sonny asked him what was going on at the warehouse. Roy told him he wasn't interested in being a spy, but if he had anything else that needed to be done, to just ask. Sonny asked if there would be a problem since Roy was friends with Luke and Roy assured him that Luke knew the difference between friendship and business and that he did as well. Sonny told him he'd be in touch. After Roy left, Sonny made a phone call and asked that a trace be run on Roy DiLucca and to find out everything.
Jason snuck around the Q's window, watching Carly hand Michael to Leticia. Carly saw him and came outside. He said he had to go and she told him he couldn't and accused him of leaving town. She told him how much she and Michael needed him and begged him not to go. He said he had to.
Monica told AJ it was crazy that he was still staying married to Carly just to keep her from Jason. AJ yelled that Carly was the wife he wanted, just as Carly walked in and said that he was the husband Carly wanted and asked Carly if that wasn't true. Carly asked if they had seen Michael's new dump truck and avoided the question. Monica said that he deserved something better and that he wasn't going to get it until he let Carly go, so for God's sake, to work something out with her. She stormed out and Carly said that at least she and Monica agreed on something. AJ told Carly that this was the anniversary of the accident and she said, "So, today is the day that you gave me Jason, the only man I'll ever love. "He replied, "But not the man you married."
There was a knock on the door and Johnny let Jason into Sonny's penthouse. He started to speak and Jason told him not to say anything. He curtly informed him that he was moving back into his own penthouse and would be starting back to work. Sonny asked him if he meant the warehouse and Jason said no, he was talking about the territory and asked Sonny if he had a problem with that.
At the penthouse, Carly arrives with Michael. Jason is not thrilled to see them - he doesn't want to see Carly at all, and feels that it confuses Michael to see him. Carly insists that Michael is not confused, and that she wanted him to see his father on his birthday. Jason presents Michael with his gift - a very fancy toy motorcycle - then sees them to the elevator and tells Carly "never again". Next to arrive at the penthouse is Emily, who encounters Jason at the elevator. She is very annoyed about the way she found out about Jason's supposed affair with Liz, and demands to know why no one ever tells her anything. Jason explains that there is no affair, that Nikolas was wrong in his assumptions, and then soothes Emily, who now feels like an idiot and says she owes Liz an apology. Jason and Emily exchange hugs and loves, and she leaves to go to Michael's birthday party at the Quartermaine residence. Carly meets Liz outside, and demands to know if she is on her way to Jason's to throw herself at him. Carly tells Liz once again that Jason doesn't want Liz and that she should go back to wherever she came from. Liz counters with the assertion that Jason trusts her whereas he sent Carly away. She tells Carly to back off, and walks away leaving Carly standing there silently.
At the Quartermaine's, Carly admits to AJ that she took Michael to see Jason, and AJ is not pleased. As Alan and Monica enter with Michael, he says that she has just raised the stakes, and that now it's his turn. Emily enters with her gift - an L&B T-shirt - and the Quartermaines start to squabble about what Michael should be when he grows up. Carly stops it, and Lila suggests that they cut the cake. They blow out Michael's candle, and we see Jason sitting alone in his penthouse, softly saying "happy birthday, Michael."
At the PC Grille, Sonny and Carly enter the elevator at the same time. Sonny is horrified when the elevator is stuck. Sonny pushes buttons while Carly yells for help, but neither approach works. Carly says that "if we don't get out, your face is going to be the first one I see in the new millennium" and Sonny replies "Well, it doesn't make my century either." Carly decides to take the opportunity to pester Sonny about Jason - why he forgave Sonny and not her, when after all it was all Sonny's fault. Sonny doesn't want any of that, but she pushes and pushes until he snaps "Enough now, enough!" It slowly dawns on Carly that Sonny is claustrophobic, and when she teases him about being locked in a closet as a child, he completely loses it. She is frightened by his outburst, apologizes, and tries to soothe him but he remains panicky.
Mike is still weaving tall tales for Gertrude when Bobbie and Tammy arrive at the Grille. Tammy takes one look at Mike
Jason and Liz arrive back at the studio after a motorcycle ride. As they pass by, Sorel and his man appear from their hiding place. We see that they have placed a bomb underneath Liz's table, set to go off in 15:00 minutes. Liz offers Jason some soup, but he turns her down and after wishing each other a happy New Year, Jason leaves. Liz drops her glove, and we see that the clock now reads 14:35. Jason, outside, sees Sorel's man crouching, watching Liz's building. Jason demands to know what the man is doing, and the two begin to fight. Roy appears and holds the man while Jason hits him, demanding again to know why he was looking at Liz's building, then they switch and Jason holds him while Roy hits and questions him. The man blurts out that there is a bomb under Liz's table, and they throw him aside and rush back to her studio (5:00). Jason gets Liz out of the building while Roy tries to diffuse the bomb (3:06). Outside, Jason gives Liz his coat and tries to call911 on the cell phone, but the line is busy. Inside the studio, Roy rushes to get a tool, is uncertain as to which wire to cut, chooses one, and the bomb is diffused - with one second to spare. In the street outside the studio, Bobbie happens upon Jason and Liz. Liz explains about the bomb and Bobbie is set to rush in to try to help Roy, but just then he comes out. Bobbie runs to him, saying, "how could you risk dying on me again?" Later, Taggert, Jason, Bobbie, Liz and Roy are all outside the studio building together. Liz goes to stay with Bobbie for a few days.
New Year's Eve is celebrated with a music montage to " As Time Goes By", and we see Mike and Tammy dancing in the diner, wearing their shiny hats and sharing a kiss, AJ watching as Sonny and Carly emerge from the elevator; Alan and Monica having a hug and a kiss, Edward and Lila exchanging fond looks, Emily and Juan sharing a kiss, Luke alone at his club, Laura with Stefan, Alexis pretending to be asleep as Ned comes in, then waking to kiss him, and Chloe and Jax dancing in the rain.
After Carly swoons into Sonny's arms, Sonny and A.J. lead her to a sofa to sit down. Sonny looks rather concerned about her. She insists that she's OK and stands back up, a little dizzy. Sonny tries to offer her another seat but she refuses and leaves. At the house Carly and A.J. witness Alan and Monica kissing. A.J. wonders what Carly and Sonny had to talk about in the elevator. He tells her that Jason has moved on to Elizabeth Webber and get over it.
Roy and Jason are being interrogated at the police station by Taggert, but nobody is doing much talking. Alexis gets them off without any charges against them, but testily tells Jason that she doesn't represent thugs that are associated with Jason. Roy insists that he isn't a thug and looks insulted. Alexis tells him he would be better off with a different job. Jason thanks Roy for keeping quiet. They go to Sonny's penthouse and walk in on Sonny and Hannah talking. Hannah came to the penthouse and was whining again that she loves him and the fact that the FBI don't have anything on him is proof that their love was real. Sonny just keeps telling her to find a new story cause that one is old. Roy and her get on the elevator together and Roy tells her she's going to lose her badge, job and get stuck with obstruction of justice if she doesn't stay away from Sonny. Jason tells Sonny what happened at Liz's studio and how Roy is a stand up guy. Sonny seems suspicious that Roy is always in the right place at the right time. Sonny tries to explain why Hannah was there and Jason says he doesn't want to know. He leaves.
At the penthouse, Taggert questions Sonny about the bomb, suggesting that he is responsible. Alexis is there, too, and tries to step in, but Sonny insists that he's willing to cooperate and names his biggest opponent: the FBI. Taggert gets his point, but says that if anything should happen to Sorel, Taggert will come right to Sonny. Alexis puts a stop to the exchange, saying that the meeting is over, and Taggert leaves. Alexis wonders what all the FBI talk was about, and Sonny tells her about Hannah. He asks if there is any chance he can press charges for entrapment, but when Alexis tries to ask questions about the relationship, including how they met, Sonny becomes angry. Alexis explains that she needs the information in order to answer his question and Sonny apologizes for being unpleasant. Alexis states that everyone can be unpleasant when they're hurt, and she leaves.
Elizabeth is next to arrive at the penthouse. Elizabeth questions him about Jason. Sonny assures her that he is fine, just out of town on business. Elizabeth continues to fish for information, but Sonny is not forthcoming, so after she asks him to ask Jason to call her, she leaves.
Carly is sitting on the Q's couch reading a toy catalog as AJ comes in and asks how the party preparations are going. Carly points out that this is what they have "the help" for. He tries to stress the importance of the party to her, but she isn't too impressed. Later in the episode, Carly asks AJ if he's sick of having the same conversation/threats over and over again with her. He tells her she should watch out, because if she is no longer useful to him, he'll throw her out…without Michael. Sonny tells Jason that Liz stopped by and was worried about him. Jason says he will check in with her.
Carly strolls through the Q's foyer and bumps into Sonny and demands to know what he's doing there. After the commercial, he says that Edward invited him. She asks about Jason, but he says Jason's being distant still. Unspoken sparks are flying a bit throughout this conversation. She tells him she's trapped and he criticizes her for not being more courageous…he knows that she's free and clear of Ferncliff. As Edward comes in, she invites Sonny to the party…which Edward says will happen over his dead body.
Jason drops by Kelly's and Liz runs out to see him. He tells her they can't see each other anymore and they share a big emotional scene where she tries unsuccessfully to change his mind. She's crying as she goes back into the diner and says she doesn't need "any more people in her life who are going to treat her like she's some porcelain doll that needs to be protected". Jason looks pretty upset by this as she goes. Liz drops a tub of dishes in the sink and sobs. Jason goes to the park and also looks pretty bummed as he replays his conversation with Liz in his mind.
Carly says she hopes Sonny will
come to the party and hints that it will be worth it…Sonny agrees to clear his
schedule. Edward tries to say he's not invited, but Sonny points out the Ed
needs a favor from him. Lila comes in and settles it: Sonny will be there with
pleasure. Once they're alone, Sonny asks Carly, "Did you invite me to spite
Edward or because you have some crazy plan that's going to bore me to
death?" She assures him that NO ONE will forget this party anytime soon.
