Jason gives Michael the real rings and is confident that Michael won't lose them after he and Carly explain how important the rings are for the wedding. Michael promises to not lose them. Carly helps Courtney with putting on her wedding gown. Michael drops one of the rings and is in a panic when he can't find it. Ric spy's on them in the dressing room. Michael looks under the table but can't find the ring. He keeps this to himself. Carly gives Courtney her bracelet as something borrowed and a new pair of earrings to match her engagement ring as something new. She also presents her with a gift from Lila that is a handkerchief from Lila that belonged to her grandmother as something old. Sonny tells Jason that he is happy for him and wishes him the best with Courtney even if he was against their relationship in the past. Jason tells him that Sonny has taught him so much over the years about relationships. Michael tells Carly about losing one of the rings but Carly finds it way under the table and makes him hold on to them tight and head into the church. Emily shows up with Nikolas and promises to keep Edward in line if he causes problems. Janine approaches Sonny and promises to behave and not cause problems. She goes in the dressing room and beams at Courtney and agrees to behave in the church and be happy for Courtney. Later, Edward can't help but be insulting to Jason at his wedding. Monica jokes with him when he is unhappy about seeing Janine there. There is no sign of the bride or Carly and everyone wonders what the holdup is. Mike comes into the church and tells Sonny and Jason to hurry over to the back of the church. They find Michael and Courtney alone. Michael tells them that Carly is gone. Ric takes an unconscious Carly and returns home with her. He sees Liz laying on the couch but doesn't realize that the phone is next to her and the ambulance is on its way. He takes Carly into the panic room and lays her on the cot. Carly wakes up feeling groggy and sees Ric and starts to yell. The 911 dispatcher talks on the phone and assures them help is on the way, Ric still is unaware that the police and ambulance have been called.

Sonny asked Michael repeatedly if he had seen anyone take Carly, but Michael's only response was "Mommy's gone." Jason asked Mike to make an announcement that the wedding was postponed. Mike asked Monica and Alan to offer their services as doctors. After examining Michael, Monica explained to Sonny that Michael was suppressing a traumatic memory and suggested a child psychologist at GH. Sonny thanked them and agreed to let Michael see the psychologist. Presuming one of Sonny's enemies had taken Carly, Alan remarked to Monica that Michael was suffering from Sonny's lifestyle. Courtney took Michael to GH.

Jason went to Lorenzo's warehouse and held him at gunpoint, but Lorenzo gave a convincing argument proving he hadn't taken Carly. Jason and Sonny went to Ric's. Jason searched the house while Elizabeth told Sonny that Ric had nothing to do with Carly's disappearance. Ric gagged Carly and slipped back into the living room. Ric pretended to be surprised about Carly's disappearance, but Sonny and Jason didn't believe him. They left but vowed to return. While Elizabeth went to get take-out, Ric seized the opportunity to visit Carly again. He untied her and asked her to be calm for the baby's sake. Carly tried to hit him but Ric easily overpowered her. Carly vowed to kill Ric herself if Sonny's didn't after this was all over. Ric taunted Carly in the secret room. When she fought him, he expressed concern for the baby. On the surveillance screens Ric saw the police at the door. He quickly changed into a robe and answered the door, pretending to have just awoken. He told Garcia that he and Elizabeth had knocked over the phone while making love, but that they were both fine. Garcia insisted on coming inside to verify that the 911 call wasn't deliberate. Ric woke up Elizabeth, who was still passed out on the couch. Ric made it appear as if they had consumed a bottle of wine to explain the groggy effect the drugs had on Elizabeth. After the police left, Elizabeth was surprised when Ric told her they had made love although she didn't remember it. Ric returned to the secret room. Carly fought her way into the living room, but fell to Ric again when she tripped and fell. Her screams could not be heard by Elizabeth, who was in the shower. Back in the secret room, Ric told Carly about his plans to give her baby to Elizabeth. Carly realized how truly disturbed Ric was and tried to convince him to let her go before Jason and Sonny kill him. Elizabeth was startled to answer a knock at the door and find Jason and Sonny standing there. Ric observed their arrival on the screens. Jason searched the house while Elizabeth told Sonny that Ric had nothing to do with Carly's disappearance. Ric gagged Carly and slipped back into the living room. Ric pretended to be surprised about Carly's disappearance, but Sonny and Jason didn't believe him. They left but vowed to return. Courtney tried to get through to Michael but could not get any information about who took Carly. Michael continued to say nothing but "Mommy's gone." Sonny arrived and asked to see Michael. The doctor warned him that pressing Michael for information could make him retreat further. Sonny gently asked Michael to help by remembering what he saw, but Michael gave him no answers. Frustrated but calm, Sonny hugged Michael and promised to bring Carly back. Sonny prayed for help finding Carly just as Carly prayed for Sonny to find her. At the Hospital, Michael has a nightmare about Ric grabbing Carly, but, when Sonny wakes Michael up, Michael says only that he cannot remember what he saw in his dream. Meanwhile, Jason waylays Faith on the Docks and, getting her in a choke-hold, Jason demands to know where Faith stashed Carly! Although Faith denies knowing anything about Carly, Jason warns Faith that, if she values her life, Faith will report to Jason or Sonny if Faith hears anything about Carly. Later, Jason reports to Sonny that he believes that Faith, the Five Families and even Alcazar are not involved in Carly's disappearance. Jason suggests that Sonny go to the police for help in searching for Carly. Later, Scott arrives at the hospital and Sonny appeals to Scott for help in locating his missing wife. However, Scott reminds Sonny that Scott has offered his help many times in the past, but Sonny has always refused to cooperate with the police! Scott reminds Sonny of all the evil Sonny dished out to Scott's daughter, Karen, when Sonny kept the girl hooked on drugs and stripping for him. Scott theorizes that Carly has just run off again to get more attention. When Scott sarcastically suggests that maybe Carly is looking for a trailer park to give birth in, Sonny attacks Scott and threatens to kill him. Scott tells Sonny that the DA will not press assault charges against Sonny this time but the next time either Jason or Sonny touches Scott, Scott will throw the book at both of them! Courtney suddenly appears and announces that Michael has remembered something and Jason and Courtney race back to Michael's room. Michael tells Jason and Carly that he remembers there was a man there, but can't remember what he looked like.

In Ric's Panic Room, Carly tries to find a way to defeat the prison-style shackles Ric had provided for her. Then, Carly realizes that she can pry loose some of the metal netting holding up her mattress and goes to work, trying to pry open the lock on the leg shackle. Meanwhile, on the monitor, Carly watches as Elizabeth announces to Ric that she just took a pregnancy test but it was negative. Ric assures Elizabeth that he does not want her to put any pressure on herself, but Liz confides that she loves seeing the paternal side of Ric come out. Liz guesses that something is bothering her husband and that it probably has something to do with Sonny. But Ric assures his wife that he is fine. When Liz leaves to visit her grandmother, Ric checks on his prisoner and suspects that Carly is up to something. Carly distracts Ric by reminding Ric of the way Ric is fooling his wife and predicts that Elizabeth will leave Ric as soon as Liz discovers what Ric has done this time. Ric reminds Carly that, since it was Sonny who caused Elizabeth's miscarriage, it is Sonny who owes Liz a baby in exchange for the baby who was lost! Carly asks what will happen if Liz is pregnant again and Ric assures his prisoner that he has thought of everything and Ric leaves. Ric later returns to the Panic Room and realizes that Carly has slipped out of her bonds. Carly hits Ric on the back of the head, then runs to the phone in the living room and dials Sonny. But Ric recovers and heads for Carly, just as Sonny picks up his phone and hears Carly's voice! Sonny answers while he is at GH and hears Carly yelling in the phone for him to help her. Ric gets to her before she can tell him who has her and the phone disconnects. Ric holds her down and drags her into the panic room, kicking and screaming. Later, Ric brings in a tray with food for her to eat. Carly refuses to eat it. Ric gets impatient with her and tells her that the baby needs nourishment but Carly refuses to eat the food. He tells her that the baby will be his and Elizabeth's not hers after the baby is born. Carly refuses to eat it. She upsets him when she mentions that the person he will answer to as well as Sonny is Elizabeth, who will leave him when she finds out what he has done and that Elizabeth can't handle any problems like this since she couldn't handle Jason's life either. Carly watches the monitor and sees Elizabeth on her way inside the front door. When Ric opens the panic room to exit, Carly runs over to the doorway quickly and hollers loudly to Elizabeth to get her attention. Elizabeth comes into the house and asks Ric what that noise was. Ric feigns ignorance. Elizabeth tells him that she thought she heard someone yell her name but thinks maybe she just imagined it.

Ric goes in to check on Carly in the secret room. He insists she eat her lunch and hands a sandwich to her. Carly hurls the plate at him and tells him that she will starve herself and her baby to keep him from having Sonny's baby. Elizabeth comes into the room and sees no sign of Ric. She calls out to him but there is no answer. Elizabeth turns on the tv and hears a report about Carly's kidnapping. She turns the tv off and is disturbed by what is going on. Meanwhile, Michael tells Jason and Courtney that he remembers some man taking Carly away but can't describe him. Courtney tries to get him to tell her more but Michael freezes up and can't say more. Jason tells him that he will tell him when he can find the words someday. Lorenzo Alcazar finds Michael's psychiatrist and introduces himself as an associate of Sonny's and asks her what she can tell him about what happened with Michael and Carly. The doctor tells him she can't tell him any details about Michael's treatment but only when and where it happened. Alcazar talks to his right-hand man about what he found out about Carly's kidnapping. He tells him that he is positive that Ric kidnapped Carly since they had been in the house around the time the kidnapping happened and Ric's wife was unconscious from an apparent overdose. He realizes that he can use this to his advantage by either coming to Sonny's rescue or Ric's rescue. Sonny sees Michael before heading home. He agrees with Jason that Michael would be better off at home than in the hospital. Jason and Courtney talk to Michael's doctor, who advises against releasing Michael but tells them that Michael is free to go either way. Jason and Courtney bring him home. Sonny talks to the press and puts up a $3million reward for information about Carly's kidnapping. Scott hears about it and isn't pleased with Sonny going to the press and making him look bad. Sonny tells him that Carly didn't run off and was kidnapped. Scott tells him that he deserves this as payback for what kind of life he leads but doesn't feel that Carly deserves being kidnapped and offers to help Sonny. Sonny is reluctant to let him help him. Jason and Courtney show up with Michael. Scott sees Michael and the shock he is obviously in and feels a touch of remorse for him and leaves. Michael wakes up and realizes he is home but looks around for a sign of Carly. Sonny realizes who he is looking for and tells him that Carly isn't there but they will find her soon and that Carly called them to let them know she is all right. Michael tells him that she is still gone though. Jason and Courtney leave the penthouse. Jason's cell-phone rings and he answers it. It is Alcazar's right-hand man, telling him that he will tell him where Carly is if he gives him the $3 million up front and meets with him. Jason asks him if he has Carly but Alcazar stabs him in the back and kills him before he can say more. Alcazar disconnects the phone. He tells his former goon that he will not allow any of his men to get the reward when he needs to use this kidnapping to his advantage.

Ric waits until Elizabeth is not in the room and goes to check on Carly and give her a lunch of pizza. Carly refuses to eat it and instead taunts him about his plan backfiring and how he will lose Elizabeth forever when she finds out what he has done. Ric tries to hide his unease by telling her that Elizabeth will never find out. Carly eyes the pizza and decides she is too hungry not to eat it. Ric checks on her later and sees she ate the pizza and is pleased that he won that battle. Carly tells him not to get too smug and reminds him that what he is doing is crazy and tries to appeal to him by using Elizabeth to get through to him and try to get him to let her go. Ric refuses to change his plans and tells her that Sonny deserves to lose his child just like he made Elizabeth lose theirs. Carly tells him he is twisted and won't get away with this. Ric asks her to stop mentioning Elizabeth's name to him anymore. Carly taunts him and whispers Elizabeth's name in a chant to bother him.

Scott shows up at the penthouse to question Sonny. Courtney brings Michael in the kitchen to have dinner. Scott mentions the murder of one of Alcazar's men on the docks and accuses them of killing him because of Carly's kidnapping. Sonny and Jason tell him he has no proof of them killing anyone. Scott gets a call on his cell-phone and has to leave. Sonny and Jason try to decide how to get Scott out of their lives. Sonny wants to kill him but Jason tells him he isn't worth the price of the bullets. Jason suggests they get one of their judges on the payroll to get him fired as DA Sonny suggests that Scott may lead them to where Carly is being held. Sonny theorizes that Alcazar kidnapped Carly and that one of his men betrayed him to get the reward money so Alcazar killed him. Jason thinks that if Alcazar had kidnapped Carly he would let them know to get what he wants from them. Jason tells him that only one person would do this to hurt him by kidnapping Carly and that would be Ric. Michael eavesdrops and hears Jason mention Ric as a suspect. Jason decides to go to Ric's place and look around. Later, Jason shows up at Ric's house. Carly sees him on the monitor and begs him to find her. Jason gets into the house and no one is there except her. Jason looks around and is about to leave the house when Carly gets upset and tries to get his attention. She takes the metal food tray and smashes it into the monitor. The sparks from the monitor hit the tray she is holding and she gets an electric shock and falls to the floor unconscious. The electricity in the house goes out and this gets Jason's attention. He calls out to Carly but gets no answer. Elizabeth enters the house and points a gun at Jason and threatens to use it if he moves.

At the penthouse, Courtney reads a story to Michael. Michael starts to remember more about Carly's kidnapping and remembers it was Ric who took her. He tells Courtney what he remembers. At the docks, Ric meets with Alcazar. Lorenzo tells him that he knows that he kidnapped Carly. He blackmails him into working with him or he will tell Sonny what he knows. Ric agrees to work with him and tells him that he isn't concerned about Carly but that it is the baby he cares about. Sonny and Max show up and confront them. Max holds a gun on them and Sonny tells them that he knew it was one of them who kidnapped his wife but he never realized they would be working together. Sonny questioned Lorenzo and Ric. Lorenzo told Sonny he was simply seeking Ric's legal services on retainer. Ric informed Sonny that he had no interest in either Sonny or Lorenzo and just wanted to live his life.

Elizabeth held her gun at Jason and asked why he was in her house. Jason calmed Elizabeth down and told her that Ric took Carly, though Elizabeth continued to insist that Ric could not have done such a thing. Courtney called Jason to tell him that Michael had said that Ric took Carly. Jason told Elizabeth to be careful and rushed to the penthouse. When Sonny returned, Jason and Courtney told him that Michael had identified Ric as Carly's abductor. Sonny called Mac over and ordered him to arrest Ric. Mac questioned Michael, who told Mac that "Ric took Mommy just like Jason said." Mac told them all that Michael might be repeating what he's heard and doesn't actually remember anything. Sonny insisted that Michael had seen Ric take Carly and threatened to take matters into his own hands if Mac's department didn't act on the information. Mac agreed to investigate Ric but warned Sonny not to act on his own. Desperate, Sonny grabbed some rope and told Jason he needed something Ric cares about that he could trade for Carly. Ric returned home and was surprised to find the electricity out. Elizabeth jumped out from hiding and told him about Jason's visit. Ric reassured her that he would never hold a woman against her will, especially a pregnant woman. Elizabeth, wanting to believe his words, fell into his arms. Ric panicked when he realized the secret door wouldn't open without power. The power company came to get the power back on. On his way out, the technician told Ric that something major had caused all the fuses to blow. Concerned for Carly, Ric rushed Elizabeth out to her studio, asking her to go there and be safe while he checked out the house. Once alone, Ric rushed into the secret room and found Carly unconscious on the floor. She awoke but was in great pain. Realizing she and the baby could be seriously hurt, Ric picked her up and promised to get her the proper care.

Carly awoke in a doctor's office with Ric at her side. Ric told her he would set her free once she saw the doctor. Ric disappeared as the doctor came in to see Carly, but the room was empty. The doctor caught up with Carly in the hallway and immediately recognized her from the newspaper. Her persuaded her to return to the exam room. He told her that she and the baby were fine but needed a shot of vitamins. Carly begged him to call Sonny, and he promised to right after giving her the shot. Carly passed out and when she awoke she was back in Ric's secret room, but with Lorenzo. She told Lorenzo that Ric was crazy and that it was in his better interest to return her to Sonny and have Sonny in his debt than form an alliance with a madman. Ric entered the room and asked Carly to eat something, but she refused. The two men exited.

Jason tried to talk Sonny out of kidnapping Elizabeth, but a desperate Sonny insisted on doing whatever necessary to get Carly back. Courtney overheard their conversation and confronted Jason. Jason reassured her that Sonny was just upset and would come around before acting out of desperation. Sonny later told Jason that he had changed his mind after Michael asked him why Ric hated Carly. Sonny had told Michael that Ric hated Sonny not Carly, and that he was a monster. The conversation had made Sonny realizing that taking Elizabeth would make him no better than Ric. Sonny told Jason that he needed Jason to stay objective in finding Carly and not assume it was Ric out of hate, but Jason expressed his absolutely certainty that Ric had taken Carly and acted alone in doing so.

At Ric's Place, Elizabeth makes some special lemonade for Ric and complains that the Air Conditioning is STILL not working in her attic studio. Carly watches in disgust as Ric assures Elizabeth that everything he has done has been done for Elizabeth. After Elizabeth leaves the house to oversee her gallery showing, Ric gets ready to enter the Panic Room just as Faith comes to the door and peeks in at the window. Ric spots Faith when he glances in the mirror before he opens the Panic Room. Rushing to the door, Ric orders Faith to leave! But, Faith argues that she came to warn Ric that Sonny is on the warpath and argues that Ric needs a savvy partner like Faith if Ric plans to get away with snatching Carly. But Ric again denies having anything to do with Carly's disappearance. As Faith and Ric argue, Mac suddenly arrives to question Ric and Faith about Carly's disappearance. After Ric again denies any involvement, Mac tells Ric and Faith that Michael has remembered what he saw when Carly disappeared, but Faith interrupts and points out that the Five Families believe it is easier for them to operate when Sonny is distracted and that, perhaps, one of them snatched Carly to keep Ric distracted. Faith suggests that Mac question Sammy Tagliatti. After Mac leaves, Carly gloats in the Panic Room that Ric's dirty deeds are finally catching up with him. In the meantime, as Faith reminds Ric that she just saved his skin by providing Mac with a new suspect, Faith notices the lemonade on the coffee table. Ric repeats that he owes Faith nothing and hustles Faith out the door, as Faith tries to get chummy. After Ric finally shoves his unwelcome visitor out the door and slams the door in her face, Faith secretly gloats as she fingers Ric's house keys! After Ric leaves, Faith uses the keys to return to the house and slips some poison into the lemonade, as Carly watches, transfixed, via the panic Room monitors. Later, when Ric returns to the Panic Room with some groceries for Carly and tries to convince Carly to eat, Carly reports to Ric that she saw Faith poison the lemonade and reminds Ric of the mysterious way that Faith's grandmother and then the shooter at the Cellar mysteriously died of 'natural causes.' When Ric scoffs at Carly's concerns, Carly proves her point by informing Ric that his household keys are missing. As Ric searches for his keys and realizes that they are missing, Ric sees Elizabeth return home and watches as his wife pours herself a glass of lemonade. Carly urges Ric to open the door and warn Elizabeth not to drink the lemonade, but Ric believes it is all a trick Carly cooked up to escape. Ric theorizes that Carly plans to scream when Ric opens the door and reveals the Panic Room to Elizabeth! As Ric continues to refuse to open the door, Liz drinks from the glass of lemonade.

Mac comes by Sonny's penthouse to give him an update in what he has found out. He tells him that he questioned Ric about Carly and that he mentioned to him what Michael claims he saw happened and that he says he remembers him taking Carly. Jason worries that Ric will go after Michael now that he knows he is a witness. Mac tells them that he doesn't think that Ric did it and that Elizabeth is his alibi. He also mentions that Faith Roscoe was there and suggested that someone from the five families could have kidnapped Carly. Sonny dismisses that idea and can't believe Mac would take her word on anything. Mac tells him that he didn't necessarily believe her but insists he will continue to investigate and do what he can. Mac leaves. Sonny makes arrangements for Michael and Leticia to go to the island to stay until he finds Carly. Michael doesn't want to go away but Sonny explains that the vacation on the island will help him remember better what happened to his mother. Michael and Leticia leave for the island. Jason insists that Ric took Carly and is holding her somewhere. Sonny isn't quite sure that is the case and wonders if Michael just told them what they wanted to hear as a way to help them. Sonny takes off for a while. Jason tells Courtney that he knows Ric took her but needs to find proof of it before Sonny will totally believe it and worries that Sonny will focus on other suspects and find out too late that he is wrong. They take a walk in the park. Jason tells her that he believes Michael remembered what happened but that Elizabeth is Ric's alibi which will be hard to shake. Max brings Faith around to the penthouse. Sonny asks her why she told the police that the five families could have kidnapped Carly when she knows it isn't true. She tells him she doesn't know where Carly is and doesn't think Ric took her either. Sonny warns Faith before he lets her go. Sonny goes to the police station and tells Scott that he is turning himself in exchange for help from the police and FBI to find his wife.

Meanwhile, Carly tells Ric that she saw Faith poison the lemonade out in the living room. Ric doesn't want to believe it and thinks Carly is trying to trick him into opening the door to the panic room so she can scream out to Elizabeth as he tries to go and stop her from drinking the lemonade. Carly can't believe he is willing to take the chance that Elizabeth will drink the lemonade and be poisoned and not stop it because he is afraid of what she will do and that it is a trick. Carly insists Faith poisoned the lemonade and fears for Liz when she sees her pour a glass of lemonade and drink some of it. She tells him that he knows that Faith poisoned her own grandmother and some other person before. Elizabeth takes a drink and starts to feel weird. She passes out on the floor after holding her chest. Ric opens up the room and goes to her. He checks her pulse and calls 911 and starts to panic. Carly watches from the panic room. At the hospital, Mac finds Ric waiting for news on Elizabeth's condition. He tells him that the toxicology report on Liz shows that she ingested some rare type of poison.

Ric comes home alone. Carly watches him on the monitor and wonders what he is up to. The doorbell rings. He answers the door to find Faith there. He invites her in. He tells her that Elizabeth is not home and is working on her paintings. He acts friendly to Faith and she lets her guard down. Ric pours a glass of lemonade and starts to look like he is going to drink it. Faith grabs the glass out of his hands and asks him why he was going to drink it since he told her he doesn't like lemonade. He tells her he was thirsty and was going to drink it anyway. She tells him he can't drink it since she poisoned it. She admits she poisoned it for Elizabeth since she knew he wouldn't drink it but she would. Ric asks her if she tried to poison Elizabeth. Faith admits she did it since he belongs with someone like her who understands him and doesn't expect him to be the perfect little husband like Elizabeth does and that he would have grown tired of her anyway as his wife. Ric tells her that this secret isn't between the two of them anymore and Faith is surprised when Mac and a cop come into the room after hearing her admit she poisoned the lemonade. Mac places Faith under arrest. Carly watches this happen on the monitor and realizes her chances of getting out of there soon ended with Ric's quick thinking.

Jason goes to the police station to talk to Sonny. Scott is willing to let him talk to Sonny since Sonny turned himself in to them. Jason is incredulous when Sonny explains to him that he turned himself in to get the police and the Feds in exchange for them to work harder to find Carly. Jason tells him that it was wrong for him to do this and that Ric kidnapped Carly not Alcazar. Sonny doesn't no whether to believe Ric did it or not but starts to doubt that he did and that Michael actually saw Ric or not. Jason also requests to see Faith once he hears from Scott that she was arrested with poisoning Elizabeth's lemonade. Jason questions her about what she knows about Ric and tries to get her to admit that Ric kidnapped Carly. Faith tells him that she doesn't think Ric did it and that he is more concerned with playing the perfect husband to Elizabeth. Jason also doesn't like it when Sonny questions his objectivity concerning Ric.

Ric didn't like it when he caught Alcazar in the panic room trying to cutting off a piece of Carly's hair. He tells him that he needs to stop coming to the house and checking on him when his wife will be coming home soon. Alcazar tells him he plans to make sure that Sonny and the police are sent on a wild goose chase and is using her hair to do it. After Ric left to see Liz, Alcazar tells Carly that she will remain in Port Charles in this room but that he is going to have her hair planted near some airport to get Sonny and the police on another track to buy himself some time. Carly questions his business methods. Alcazar explains that his brother Luis made the fatal error of getting to involved with Brenda Barrett and that even though Alexis killed his brother, he holds Sonny responsible for his death and that he must pay. When Ric checked on Carly later, she tried to reason with him and persuade him to call Sonny and admit what he did to him and that he was sick about Liz's miscarriage and kidnapped her on impulse. She tells him that Sonny doesn't want to kill him and will show him mercy if he calls and admits what he did. Ric doesn't want to listen to her since he knows that what she is saying is right and that Alcazar's involvement is complicating things for him as well. Ric leaves the panic room and refuses to listen to her anymore. At GH, Ric sees Jason heading towards Liz's room. He gets in his face and warns him not to go and interrogate her about Carly's kidnapping and that she has been through enough. Jason grabs Ric and throws him against the wall. He puts him in a choke-hold and orders him to tell him where Carly is being held. Ric denies he has her. Courtney tries to stop him but Jason is too focused on threatening Ric with bodily harm. Jason attacked Ric at General Hospital and demanded to know where Carly was. Jason beat Ric until Garcia pulled a gun on Jason and ordered him to release Ric. Elizabeth ran to Ric's side and yelled at Jason. Ric told Garcia that this was not the first time Jason had attacked him and that he wanted to press charges. Courtney tried to explain that Jason was under a great deal of stress with Carly's disappearance, but Jason was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

At the police station, The FBI shows up and introduces themselves to Scott. Meanwhile, in one of the interrogation rooms, Sonny talks to Mac about Carly's kidnapping. Mac tells him that he has no proof to arrest Ric for kidnapping and that Elizabeth insists she was with him the night of the kidnapping. He also tells him that Michael's statement about seeing Ric kidnap her at the church is questionable since Jason told him that Ric did it and he waited a few days to tell them anything. Sonny doesn't know what to believe but admits that he doesn't really believe Michael saw Ric like he claims. The FBI inform Scott that the investigation is in their hands now and to not interfere. Scott insists on being in the room while they talk to Sonny. They come into the interrogation room and tell Mac that they are in charge of the kidnapping case and Sonny's deal now. Scott resents their intrusion but they don't care what he wants and tell Sonny that whatever deal he had with Scott is null and void. They tell Sonny that sending him to prison is a drain on the prison system and that they have more use for him on the outside helping them get Alcazar. They agree to use as much manpower and resources they have to find Carly if he agrees to start a business relationship with Alcazar and that one of their men will work inside Sonny's organization to spy on Alcazar and get the information they need to prosecute Alcazar. Sonny agrees to their new deal and asks to sign the papers. The FBI tells him that there are no papers for him to sign. Scott objects to that and warns them that Sonny is slippery and they will regret it later if they don't make him sign something now. The agent tells Scott to stop interfering. Sonny shakes the agent's hand to seal the deal. The agent dismisses Scott from the room. Scott leaves reluctantly. The agent makes a call to someone and tells him to send in Sonny's new partner. Faith walks in and the agent tells Sonny to meet his new partner. Sonny can't believe it is Faith. The FBI agent gave Sonny ten minutes to decide whether to accept their offer to let Faith work undercover as his mistress in exchange for an all-out search for Carly. Sonny called Faith a tramp and refused to work with her. Faith reminded him that he was running out of options, but Sonny insisted that he couldn't trust Faith enough to work with her, even after Faith explained that she had made a deal of her own after poisoning Elizabeth. Sonny told the FBI agent that he was refusing their deal. Sonny turned to leave just as the police were bringing Jason in. Sonny spoke to Ric alone and told him that he believed that Ric had nothing to do with Carly's disappearance. Sonny asked Ric to drop the charges against Jason as a gesture of their truce. In return Sonny promised to make sure that Jason never bothered him again, and Ric agreed. Ric dropped the charges but filed a restraining order against Jason. Jason apologized to Sonny for losing his cool and promised to use more stealth next time. Jason was shocked and confused when Sonny told him there wouldn't be a next time, that Jason was to leave Ric alone. Later at the Speak Easy, Courtney and Jason are speechless when Sonny arrives with Faith as his guest for the evening.

Carly was surprised to find Lorenzo in the secret room with her. She tried her best to convince Lorenzo that pairing up with Ric was not a wise move. Lorenzo listened to her but did not back down. Carly advised him that returning her in exchange for running drugs through Sonny's territory would be a smarter move. Lorenzo opened the secret door to leave. Carly, seeing Elizabeth unlocking the front door on the screen, tried to stall Lorenzo, but he managed to slip out before Elizabeth entered the house. Elizabeth demanded to know why Lorenzo was standing in her living room. She asked what business he had with Ric, but Lorenzo only replied by asking when Ric would be home. When Ric returned, Elizabeth told him about Lorenzo's visit and asked what business they had together. She told him how having someone like Lorenzo in their lives made her uncomfortable. Ric reassured her that it was merely a legitimate real estate transaction as Lorenzo was buying his old apartment.

Sonny told Jason about the deal he had made with the feds. Jason disapproved of Sonny's plan and insisted that Ric was responsible for Carly's disappearance. Nonetheless Sonny insisted on doing things his way. Courtney told Faith to leave the Speak Easy, but Faith challenged her to ask Sonny if he wanted her to leave. Courtney approached Sonny, who quietly explained that his deal with the feds involved pretending that Faith was his mistress. Scott arrived, and Sonny quickly asked Courtney to hit him to give the whole scene some credibility. Courtney struck Sonny and yelled at him for being with Faith, saying that he never deserved Carly before "storming" out with Jason. Scott told Sonny that Scott's daughter Karen had died, and blamed Sonny for the time he had spent with her years ago. Sonny told Scott that he had genuinely cared about her, and that Scott should have been in her life then if he was so concerned. Their argument heated up until the federal agent came over and reminded Scott that Sonny needed to keep up the facade with Faith. The agent told Sonny he needed him to do something.

Carly watched on the screen as Elizabeth told Ric that they could conceive tonight. Ric insisted that Elizabeth needed her rest after her ordeal with the poisoning. Once Elizabeth slipped away to paint, Ric went into the secret room. Carly continued to try and work Ric, telling him that his plan could never work. Ric admitted that he wanted Sonny's baby more than his own with Elizabeth. He said he was saving his niece or nephew from life with a criminal. Carly reminded Ric that he was a criminal, having kidnapped her and kept her against her will. Carly warned him that Sonny would never stop looking for her. Ric told Carly she was not that hard to replace, that Sonny would move on once he accepted that she was gone, and then Ric left. Carly changed the screen from the camera channel to a television channel, where she was horrified to see Sonny announcing at a press conference that the search for Carly was over. She was even more horrified to see him step down after making the statement and being comforted by Faith.

After Elizabeth leaves the house, Ric picks up the newspaper and takes it to Carly in the Panic Room and tries to convince Carly that Sonny has already given up looking for her and has already replaced her with a new companion. Carly confesses that she has already seen the news on the TV in the Panic Room. Ric is stunned when Lorenzo suddenly barges right into the Panic Room! Ric hustles Lorenzo out into the living room and Lorenzo turns off the monitor so Carly can't hear what they are talking about. Lorenzo reports that the police appear to be off on the wild goose chase that Alcazar set up with strands of Carly's hair. Ric orders Lorenzo to quit showing up at Ric's house unannounced, but Lorenzo refuses to even consider curtailing his movements. Later, when Ric tries to get Carly to eat, Ric admits that things are not turning out the way he planned when he kidnapped Carly. Carly begs Ric to just let her go, but Ric confides that turning Carly loose is no longer an option. When Carly reminds Ric that she believes he is insane, Ric points out that, while that may be true, Ric is the only friend Carly can count on right now. In the Panic Room, as Ric finally succeeds in getting Carly to eat, Carly cries on Ric's shoulder about her fear of being alone. But, after Ric leaves, Carly admits to herself that she is just playing Ric and Carly is positive that Sonny is doing the same thing.

Faith starts to boss Courtney around at the club. She tells her that Sonny has no choice but to allow her to be in his life and play being his mistress and that if she doesn't like it that is too bad. She also bad mouths Carly in front of Courtney as well. Sonny overhears her bullying Courtney and tells her to get out of his wife's club now. Scott shows up and sees him grab Faith's arm to get her to leave the club. He reminds Sonny that he needs to pretend she is his mistress and not treat her badly in public since he made a deal with the feds to help them. Courtney asks Scott what the feds have done so far to find Carly in exchange for Sonny's help. Scott tells them that so far they have only found pieces of Carly's hair and believe she was put on a plane to South America. Sonny doesn't want to work with Faith since he can't stand the sight of her and tells Scott that he will help the feds some other way than working with "this bitch." Scott has no sympathy for him as usual and tells him that Faith is the only woman who is willing to pretend she is his mistress since no other woman will have him. Scott leaves. Faith apologizes to Sonny for saying bad things about Carly and that she is willing to make it up to him in some other way. Sonny tells her that she is a whore and he will treat her like one since he would only be with a whore if his wife was dead. Faith tells him that he better get use to her being around and wants to move in with him at the penthouse to make it look more authentic that she is his mistress. Faith leaves.

While Ric and Liz are out, Jason breaks into Ric's Place to plant a bug and spots the surveillance camera. Carly wills Jason to follow the wire to find her! Jason breaks into Ric's house. Carly sees him enter the house from the monitor inside the panic room. She sees him plant bugs around the living room and then he uses a chair to climb on top of a cabinet to place a bug. Jason notices a video surveillance camera and tries to see where it is attached to. Carly holds out hope that he will find out that the camera is hooked up to a monitor from the secret room. She gets up and pulls out the monitor so that he can see her pulling on the other end of the cord and will figure out someone is on the other side of the wall. However, Jason hears a car door slam and jumps down and puts the chair away. Carly gets frustrated that Ric and Liz returned home so soon and interrupted what could have been her possible rescue. Jason manages to get out of the house before being caught. Carly hears Ric comfort Liz after she hears from the specialist that she can't get pregnant again. Ric tells her that they can adopt a baby and love it as if it was biologically their own. Liz refuses to give up getting pregnant and uses a case of a friend of hers having twins after she was told she couldn't conceive a baby. Ric puts the idea of adoption in her head. Liz tells him she isn't against adoption but wants to have a baby of her own first. Liz goes in the other room. Ric notices when he is hugging Liz that the video camera has been moved around. He checks on Carly, who is looking at a magazine and sitting near the monitor. He demands to know what she has been up to. He demands to know who came in the house but Carly tells him no one came by and that she was sick of listening to him lie to Liz and wanted to yank the monitor out of the wall. Ric buys her story. Carly questions his sanity again and asks him if he thinks Liz won't find out she can really get pregnant and if he plans to not have sex with his wife again. Ric calls the doctor he paid off and asks for a prescription of birth control pills. Carly tells him that Sonny won't ever give up finding her and that he will find out what he did to her. Ric tells her that Sonny won't find out anything but is less confident about it.

When LIz later leaves the living room, Ric goes over to the cabinet and fixes the monitor and speaks into the camera so Carly can hear him and says that her baby will be his no matter what she thinks. Liz calls from the bathroom to tell him their bath is almost ready. Meanwhile, Jason tells Sonny what he did at Ric's place. Sonny is angry with him and lashes out at him for taking risks like that when Ric could have a videotape of him breaking in. Jason doesn't think Ric has a tape and tries to convince Sonny that Ric has video equipment because he has Carly. Sonny doesn't believe Ric has her and orders Jason to go with Courtney to the island and stay there for a while. Jason agrees to go but later decides to stay. Jason listens in on the equipment he has set up at Ric's place. He wonders out loud who Ric is talking to if Liz is in the bathroom.

Faith has her luggage brought into Sonny's penthouse and announces she is moving in. Sonny tells her she isn't moving in. Faith tells him that no matter how much he hates the idea, she is moving in and that the deal with the feds was that it look like he is moving on with his mistress, while they try to locate her secretly. She also suggests that she move into his bedroom and they have sex. Sonny refuses to sleep with her but allows her to stay in the guest room instead. He tells her that if he wants a whore he will hire one since he couldn't stand to touch her no matter whether his wife was dead or not. Faith reminds him that he needs to show up at the fireworks so that they can be seen in public together to be more convincing. After she leaves, Sonny throws the glass of liquor in his hand at the door and shatters it and calls her a "bitch." Jason shows up at the penthouse later. Sonny isn't too surprised to see him. Jason tells him he sent Courtney to the island to be with Michael. Sonny doesn't like that he didn't follow his orders and worries that he will get arrested if he goes after Ric and ruin his deal with the feds. Jason explains that he can't leave the country and that he promised Carly that he would always look after her. He also tells him about Emily's cancer and how helpless he feels when he can't do anything to make the cancer go away for her. Sonny is sympathetic and allows him to stay in Port Charles.

Ric checks on Carly and she tells him that Liz is already starting to doubt him but that she is in too much denial to admit that he is lying to her again. She tells him that Liz will eventually find out what he is doing and run as far away from him as she can go. Ric tells her that Liz loves him and he loves her and that is all that matters. Carly tells him that he doesn't know how to love anyone since he is so twisted. Ric leaves the panic room. Jason meets with his surveillance man and listens to a taped conversation between Ric and Liz. Jason hears a noise after Ric shuts the door after Liz leaves. He asks his technician to try and amplify and isolate the sound he keeps hearing but can't identify. Sonny stays at home and thinks about Carly and cries. Carly also is thinking about Sonny and is crying. Sonny shows up at the park and pretends to be with Faith. Carly happens to be watching the televised coverage at the park on the monitor and is hurt to see Faith all over Sonny and he isn't resisting her. Alcazar shows up at Sonny's place and Jason answers the door. Alcazar asks if Sonny is there. Jason tells him he isn't home and what he wants. Alcazar tells him that he knows where Carly is being held.

Carly awoke to find Luis Alcazar taking a picture of her. Alcazar ordered Carly not to tell Ric what he was doing, that he had decided he'd rather have Sonny in his debt than Ric. Ric arrived home and told Alcazar that he didn't want him breaking in whenever he felt like it. Ric and Alcazar argued while Jason listened through the bug. After Alcazar left, Carly saw Ric crush some birth control pills and put them in a drink for Elizabeth. Backing up the phony evidence he had planted, Alcazar told Sonny that his associates in Venezuela had spotted Carly getting off a plane. Sonny told Alcazar that if he found Carly and returned her safely, that he would allow Alcazar to run drugs through his territory. Alcazar left, and Sonny told Jason that he would promise anything to get Carly back, even a promise he wouldn't keep. Sonny and Jason agreed that they believed Alcazar had access to Carly. Jason maintained however that Ric was still involved, and that Alcazar didn't know about it until later.

Faith arrived at the penthouse with her bags, informing Sonny that she was moving in. Irritated but compliant, he directed her to the guest room. A few minutes later Faith came down the stairs wearing Carly's red dress. Sonny became enraged and ordered Faith to take off Carly's dress. When she did not, Sonny grabbed Faith and tore the dress off of her. Sonny and Faith continued to argue at Sonny's about her wearing Carly's dress. He ordered her to the guest bedroom. She tried to convince him that he really wanted her, more than he ever wanted Carly. He got physical and put a hand on her throat when she touched his hair and warned her to never do that again. Faith continued to insist that Carly was dead. Sonny wouldn't hear it and called her a whore.

Alcazar and Ric were fighting at Ric's, with Jason listening in, wondering who the "her" was they were talking about. Ric reminded Alcazar he didn't ask for help. Carly talked to the monitor, urging Alcazar to tell Sonny where she is. In the listening van, Jason had recorded the conversation between Ric and Alcazar and wondered what the noise was after Alcazar left. It was the door to Carly's room opening. Later, he replayed the tapes for Sonny, who refused to believe Ric and Alcazar had been discussing Carly. They listened to the door opening sound, but couldn't identify it. Sonny took the tape to pass to the FBI for analysis. Sonny comes home to find Alcazar there with Faith, he ordered Faith upstairs. Alcazar said he had a shipment coming in and with access to Sonny's piers, he'd bring Carly back. Sonny said Carly needed to come home first. They argued and Sonny said he couldn't be sure Alcazar had Carly. Alcazar was suspicious that Sonny didn't want Carly back and assured Sonny he could lead him to her. While he was there, Jason broke into Alcazar's place and found one of the pictures of Carly. When Alcazar left, Faith whined and Sonny ordered her to go to Alcazar's house and work her way in. Jason returned to Sonny's with the photo of Carly. Sonny was very worried about Carly, but seemed to be losing it and refused to listen to Jason about his suspicions about Ric. Sonny was sure that Alcazar was the one to help them get Carly back.

Ric went in to see Carly and she begged him to not let Alcazar hurt her. Elizabeth rushed home to share the good news with Ric. He was subdued and reminded her that Dr Gordon was a fertility specialist. Elizabeth thought he mixed up test results. Ric continued to confound Elizabeth by his lack of excitement. She grew suspicious and wondered if he'd changed his mind about wanting a baby. He said he only doesn't want her to get her hopes up. She said she wants to start trying next month and they kissed. Carly listened to all with interest and knew he'd laced Elizabeth's food with contraceptives. Scott arrives at Sonny's Penthouse and informs Jason that the District Attorney does not appreciate being 'summoned' to the home of a mob boss! Jason delivers the photo of Carly that he found in Alcazar's apartment and demands that Scott run the photo through forensics to see if it was snapped in Venezuela. After Scott leaves, Jason again demands that Faith tell him where Ric is holding Carly. But Faith insists that Ric has nothing to do with Carly's disappearance. At the same time, Ric enters the Panic Room. Ric takes the opportunity to remind Carly that Sonny is in bed with Faith but Carly retorts that Ric is probably harming Elizabeth by feeding her so many birth control pills. Carly warns Ric that Sonny will eventually discover Ric and Carly reminds Ric that Ric is destroying everything and everyone that Ric loves just to get even with Sonny! When Ric leaves the Panic Room, the hidden bug again picks up the sound of the opening and closing of the door, but the surveillance expert still does not recognize the reason for the sounds. At the same time, Sonny shows up to see Loerenzo and demands to know where the gun runner is hiding Sonny's wife!

Lorenzo denies knowing where Carly was when the picture was taken but suggests it could have been snapped in Venezuela. Lorenzo then renews his demands that Sonny let Lorenzo run drugs in Sonny's territory in exchange for Lorenzo's help in finding Carly. As Sonny and Lorenzo argue, Ric suddenly walks in and demands to know what is going on. When Sonny questions Ric showing up just then, Ric covers by complaining that Lorenzo still has not delivered the money promised for the apartment. When Sonny tells Alcazar that Sonny believed that Lorenzo paid Ric in cash for the apartment, Lorenzo covers by telling Sonny that Lorenzo is still waiting for the money to be transferred from one of his off-shore accounts. Sonny storms away.

Jason's surveillance expert reports to Jason that he is still picking up an unidentified Frequency whenever Ric is alone. When Ric returns home, Carly is surprised to see that Ric has something in a suitcase. Using sophisticated electronic equipment, Ric changes the combination to unlock the Panic Room, but Jason and his surveillance expert continue to listen in as Ric makes the change in the emergency system locks. When Sonny returns to the Penthouse, Faith announces that she has arranged for the two of them to be seen, dining out together at the No Name, where they will engage in a lover's spat that can be reported back to Alcazar. But Sonny announces that he is going out of town to look for Carly! Faith threatens to tell both Ric and Lorenzo the truth if Sonny goes off to search for his missing wife on his own! While Faith and Sonny argue, Jason arrives and Sonny reports that he is going to Venezuela. But Scott suddenly arrives and reports that his forensics experts have determined that the picture of Carly was taken recently and that it was taken somewhere in Port Charles! Jason and Sonny play devil's advocate with him about that not proving anything. Scott is quite convinced that the feds are right about Carly being in Port Charles still. Jason tells Scott to get a search warrant on Ric's place or at least interrogate him into telling them where he has Carly. Scott resents Jason's orders and tells him that there is no proof that Ric took Carly but that Alcazar is most likely the kidnapper. Sonny agrees with Scott that Alcazar is their main target not Ric. Scott takes off. Jason reminds Sonny that they had made a deal that they wouldn't rule Ric out as a suspect or a co-conspirator with Alcazar. Sonny doesn't think Ric has her but agrees to keep an open mind. Jason tells him that everything that is going on with Carly comes right back to Ric. Sonny tells him that if Ric kidnapped his wife, he will let him kill him.

At the same time, Ric spots the surveillance van across from his home and, realizing that the van has been left unguarded, Ric investigates with gun drawn. As Ric listens in on the surveillance equipment, Alcazar and his operative arrive at Ric's front door to move Carly. As Carly watches hopefully on the monitor, Alcazar aims his remote gadget at the door but there is no response and the door remains closed. He keeps trying but realizes that Ric did something to stop him from getting to Carly. Carly is deeply disappointed when Alcazar and his goon leave the house. Sonny shows up at Alcazar's place. He accuses him of lying to him about where the picture came from. He tells him that he didn't lie to him and that as far as his contacts told him, Carly is in South America. Sonny tells him that contact is conveniently dead and can't verify his story. Alcazar tells him that he doesn't know where she is and that he would have told him if he knew since he wants to do business with him and wouldn't jeopardize that now. Sonny warns him and leaves.

Jason returns to the van. He hears some paper shuffling and nothing else. Liz comes home early. He is surprised to see her and tells her he was just finishing some paperwork on a case he is settling right now. He tells her that he has something to tell her that is important. Carly wonders what he is up to while she watches and listens to the monitor. Jason listens as Ric confesses to Liz that he hasn't totally given up his hate for Sonny but that he has been secretly trying to find Carly for Sonny even if he hates him. Jason lets Sonny hear the conversation on the headphones when he arrives at the van. Ric tells her that his feelings for Sonny are complicated. Elizabeth is very supportive and believes he is deep down a good man. Carly can't believe Elizabeth is falling for his lies again. Sonny finds what Ric said somewhat logical for Ric in his twisted mind. Jason tells him that Ric could also be lying to Liz.

Faith returns to the penthouse with her hands full of shopping bags. He asks her what she bought and who paid for it all but she tells him it wasn't her who paid and he knows she charged it to his account. She tells him she had to buy clothes that she could wear that would be believable enough that people would know that she is his mistress. He tells her that she is already a tramp anyway so who cares what she wears. He tells her she needs to seduce Alcazar into thinking she is spying for him and that he has turned her away because he has hope now that Carly is still alive. Edward shows up and Faith acts cozy with Sonny and kisses him goodbye. He asks Edward what he wants. Edward tells him he wants his great-grandson back. Sonny tells him that isn't going to happen and that Michael is his son now and that won't change. Edward gets to Sonny a little bit by scolding him for taking up with Faith so soon after his wife was kidnapped and that his behavior shows that he isn't fit to raise Michael for that reason alone. Jason comes in and isn't happy to see Edward. He asks him if he ever plans to give up and leave them alone. Edward tells him he doesn't plan to. Sonny throws Edward out. However, Sonny takes what Edward said to heart and worries about how things must look to everyone else when he is seen with Faith and worries that they won't ever find her again. Jason insists they continue to listen in on the tapes in the van. Sonny tells him to go and get rid of the van and stop listening to the tapes and concentrate on Alcazar now. Jason leaves.

Meanwhile, Ric puts crushes up some birth control into Liz's orange juice and gets her to drink it before she leaves for the day. Carly watches from the panic room and comments about how he wants to prevent her from conceiving a baby since he wants her baby instead. After Liz leaves, Ric checks on her in the panic room. She is crying and pleads with him to let her go and reminds him they were once good friends. Ric tells her that he thinks of her as a good friend and tells her that Sonny isn't good enough for her and she should give up on him now that he is sleeping with Faith. Carly gets upset and tells him that she doesn't understand why things had to change when they were so good. Ric acts sympathetic and leaves her. Carly throws something at the monitor and tells him that if he wants to play mind games he picked the wrong person to play them with since she invented them herself. Ric goes to see Sonny. He has a folder in his hand and tells Sonny that he hired his own private investigator to find Carly and that despite how he feels about him he wants to make peace and that is why he is handing over the P.I.'s file. Sonny thanks him for his help and suggests that he could use the fact that he works for Alcazar as an advantage to finding out where Carly is. Before Ric leaves, he turns around and tells Sonny that he didn't tell him the whole truth and that he has something to confess to him about. Jason is back in the surveillance van and tells his technician to shut everything down on Sonny's orders.

Liz returns home early and calls Ric and leaves a message for him on his cell-phone to pick her up some extra-strength aspirin because she has a really bad headache. Carly watches her from the monitor in the panic room. Liz goes to get a blanket to lie down on the couch with and notices the cabinet to the bookshelf is open and goes to shut it. She notices a white button attached to the inside of the bookcase. She looks at it and wonders what is for. Carly watches her and urges her to push the button when she realizes what Liz found. Jason's technician tells Jason that Liz is home and called Ric for some aspirin and that she is making noise near where they heard that strange sound coming from. However, before they can listen in on the tape, the doors to the van are opened and Scott and a cop are there to tell him he is under arrest for violating the restraining order to stay away from the house. Scott tells him that Ric called him to report seeing a van there. Liz pushes the button and is shocked speechless when the panic room door opens and she sees Carly near the doorway thanking her for finally finding her and that Ric kept her there. Liz is immobile and is stunned at the sight of Carly.

Ric admitted to Sonny that he had Jason arrested. Ric insisted that he and Elizabeth wanted to live in peace but that Jason kept disrupting their lives. Sonny convinced Ric to drop the charges against Jason, promising that Jason would bother him no more. Scott escorted Jason and Sonny to Ric's, where Jason reluctantly removed the bug. As they all turned to leave Sonny sensed something. He told Scott he and Jason were staying behind to wait for Ric. Scott left and ordered Sonny not to call the police with his family problems. Sonny told Jason he could now sense that Ric had Carly.

Elizabeth was stunned when the secret door opened and there stood Carly. Still chained, Carly desperately yelled to Elizabeth, but Elizabeth was frozen with shock. Carly begged her to call 911. Elizabeth picked up the phone and startled to dial, but was suddenly overcome with vertigo and collapsed to the floor. Carly yelled for Elizabeth to toss her the phone. Elizabeth managed to do so just before passing out, but the phone was just out of Carly's reach. Carly struggled and finally managed to reach the phone with an umbrella, but just then Ric entered. He grabbed the phone from Carly's hands and rushed to Elizabeth's side. He demanded to know what Carly had done to Elizabeth. Screaming, Carly told Ric he had hurt Elizabeth with the pills he had secretly been feeding her. She demanded that he let her go before Elizabeth awakes and tells everyone that she saw Carly. Flustered and anger, Ric closed Carly back up in the room and rushed Elizabeth to the hospital where she was admitted. Tony Jones told Ric that a blood clot had caused Elizabeth's collapse, but that they had been able to remove it. Tony was puzzled over Elizabeth's chart, which indicated that she had been on no medications although her symptoms seemed to indicate a reaction to one.

Carly watched Sonny and Jason in Ric's house (who were there to remove the bugs) and Sonny commented that he could feel Carly's presence. Sonny berated himself for living with Faith and making a deal with the Feds. Carly was thrilled to hear Sonny say he knew Carly was alive and was willing him to her. He knew Ric would lead them to Carly. Ric came home and Sonny wondered why Ric talked about Elizabeth as though she were already dead. Ric reminded himself that she is a fighter and everything will be fine. Sonny told him to never give up. After Sonny left, Ric went to see Carly and brought her dinner. She taunted him by saying the cops would rescue her soon, everything was out of control and Elizabeth was paying the price. Jason rushes to the island to see Michael. When Michael sees Jason, Michael tells Jason that Michael has remembered that, when Ric took Carly, Ric said: "I am taking you home!" Jason decides to take Michael and Courtney back to Port Charles with him. But Courtney cautions Jason that Michael might have made up his latest 'memory' because Michael has been eager to return home, and believes that 'remembering' something more about his mother's abduction is Michael's ticket home!

Courtney and Jason arrive at the Hospital with Michael and Maxie tells Jason about Elizabeth's pulmonary embolism. Jason leaves Michael with Maxie while Jason and Courtney slip in to Elizabeth's room. When Jason tells Courtney that it is strange that Elizabeth would suddenly be in critical condition only weeks after marrying Ric, Courtney goes to find a doctor to find out about Elizabeth's condition. But, instead, Courtney runs in to Faith and informs the Mob Widow that, since Michael is now home, Faith needs to move out of the Penthouse pronto! At the same time, Michael spots Ric in the hallway and tells Ric pointblank that Michael saw Ric take his mother! In the meantime, Jason speaks to an unconscious Elizabeth and tells her that Jason is afraid that if Elizabeth stays with Ric, Liz will end up dead! At that moment, Elizabeth flat-lines and Jason stares in horror at the monitor! The crash cart was rushed into Elizabeth's room and Tony succeeded in getting her heart beating again. Down the hall, Michael attacked Ric and said he knew that Ric took his mother away. Ric pretended innocence. Sonny arrived and scolded Michael, telling him not to make up stories, even going so far as to tell Michael that Ric is helping them search for Carly. When Jason and Courtney arrived, Jason couldn't believe what Sonny was saying. After Sonny ordered Courtney and Jason to take Michael home, he told Jason to tell Michael to stop lying. On their way home, Michael asked Jason to kill Ric so that his mother would come home.

Sonny joined Ric, who sat near Elizabeth's hospital bed. He told Ric that he empathized with him, saying he knows what it's like to fear losing someone you love. Ric said he wished he'd told Sonny he was his brother as soon as he came to town and that he wished he'd never started the feud between them. After bond between them, Sonny added that he'd give his life to have Carly safe again. Meanwhile, in the panic room, Carly began suffering from excruciating pain and abdominal cramps. She feared losing her baby until the cramps and pain went away. Breathing a sigh of relief, Carly then noticed something strange on the monitor: a man, dressed in black, picked the lock of the house and let himself in. Carly watched, wondering who the man was, as the man sat down on the living room sofa and opened up a suitcase and began fidgeting with something. When Sonny returned to the penthouse, Michael insisted he was telling the truth about Ric and Sonny told Michael he believes him! Sonny told Michael that Ric is a bad man and that he's playing a game on Ric. At Sonny's urging, Michael told him the whole story about Carly's kidnapping. Later, Sonny told Jason that he played Ric the same way that Ric's been playing Sonny, adding that he pretended not to believe Michael at the hospital so that Michael would not be in danger from Ric. Beginning to believe that Ric's holding Carly in Ric's house, Sonny told Jason they need to get hold of a copy of the plans to Ric's house. Ric told a sleeping Elizabeth that love and revenge can't exist in the same space, and that one of them has to be sacrificed. After whispering that he'll love her forever, and that the only way he'll survive is if she never wakes up, Ric asked Elizabeth to forgive him, then he gave her a kiss. Standing up, Ric grabbed hold of a pillow and held it firmly while looking down at a peaceful-looking Elizabeth. He can’t bring himself to kill her, and cries as he looks down at her.

Later, Alcazar visits Elizabeth in her room. He tells her that Ric has Carly in a secret room in her house. Liz is disturbed by what he tells her but the information triggers her memory and she has flashbacks and remembers seeing Carly in the panic room. She tells the police that Ric kidnapped Carly. Sonny and Jason arrive at Ric's and burst into Ric's secret room, but Carly was gone. All they found was Ric, bleeding from the head and lying on the floor. Sonny picked him up and slammed him against the wall, demanding to know where Carly was. Ric told him that he didn't know, that someone had come in and struck him on the head, and that when he awoke Carly was gone. Ric told Sonny it must be Alcazar as he was the only other person who knew Carly's whereabouts. Garcia and another officer entered and separated Ric and Sonny. Ric told Garcia that Sonny would have killed him had they not arrived just then. Garcia told Ric to thank Elizabeth as she was the once who had called the police. Sonny told Garcia to arrest Ric and issue an all-point bulletin for Alcazar and Carly. Ric insisted that he needed to go to the hospital first and get checked out. Garcia had the officer issue the APB and call for an ambulance.

Carly watches the mysterious intruder in Ric's home through the monitor and wonders who sent him and why. The mysterious intruder works with some electronic equipment similar to what Ric was using to change the frequency's on the secret electronic door. Sonny listens to Michael tell him that he now remembers Ric telling Carly that he was taking her home. Ric returns to the house and tells Carly that he is letting her go because of his love for Elizabeth and lets her call Sonny to tell him where she is. She calls Sonny and tells him where she is. Sonny had already vowed to kill Ric once she was home safe. Sonny tells her he loves her

Carly awoke on Alcazar's airplane and was furious to learn that he had taken her for leverage against Sonny. Alcazar explained that he had hired a man to break into Ric's house and change the frequency of the secret room's door so that he could access it once again. When Alcazar turned him back, Carly struck him with a fire extinguisher and took his gun. Holding Alcazar at gunpoint, she ordered him to have the pilot turn the plane around. She took his cell phone and called home. Michael answered, and Carly reassured him that they would soon be reunited. Carly asked for Sonny, but Michael told him that Sonny was not home because he had gone to get her. Carly then asked to speak with Courtney, but just as Michael put Carly on the phone, Alcazar charged Carly and grabbed the gun back. Carly warned Alcazar that Sonny would come looking for him. Alcazar called Sonny and demanded that Sonny accept a drug shipment at his docks as ransom for Carly's safe return. Sonny told Jason that he would give Alcazar whatever he wanted to ensure Carly's and the baby's safety. Sonny gave orders to let a ship go through the harbor and look the other way. Jason asked Sonny to not let Alcazar get control of his territory. Sonny lost patience, since Alcazar has Carly and Jason doesn't know where they are. Jason wondered if Sonny was thinking clearly and not aware of the dangers ahead. Sonny assured Jason he knew what he was doing, but was frustrated. Jason entered Ric's hospital room and asked about Carly. He pulled the call button out of the wall and threatened Ric by holding his head in a death grip. Jason accused Ric of working with Alcazar all along. Ric dared Jason to kill him, since he wouldn't find Carly anyway. Jason took Ric to the room where he'd held Carly. Courtney came into the house and Jason asked if she still trusted him.

Alcazar yelled at one of his men who'd tied Carly up and told her she was free to go anywhere on the yacht. He also told her they were on business and she was a negotiating tactic, if Sonny will cooperate. Alcazar said how lucky that he figured out that Ric had Carly and now he can dictate terms to Sonny for the distribution network he needs. He wouldn't answer Carly's questions about where they are. She tried to understand why he took her and he offered to let her call home. Sonny was talking to Michael when the phone rang and Michael answered. Sonny took the phone and she told him Michael might feel better on the ocean, miles away from land. Sonny realized she was telling him where she was. Alcazar grabbed the phone and he and Sonny agreed they had an understanding about the shipment. Sonny asked his people to track Carly, based on what she'd told him. Scott came to visit and told him Faith had disappeared. Sonny didn't care, since the Feds hadn't found Carly. Scott figured that Alcazar has Carly and wants to trade for everything Sonny has. Scott also knew about the drug shipment expected tonight. Alone, Carly ate well, then talked to the baby about learning how to run a scam. She began screaming in pain and complaining about the baby and a guard ran in to help. Carly tries to con a guard into believing that she is going in to premature labor.

After Scott left, Alcazar went to see Sonny, who wanted assurance about their deal. He said an attendant was standing by, waiting for a call from Alcazar if anything happened with the shipment. Sonny assures Alcazar that Lorenzo's shipment will go through. But Sonny and Lorenzo are both astounded when Pier 52 explodes. Lorenzo warns Sonny that the fireworks display has just cost Sonny his wife. Lorenzo discovers that his boat blew up before it reached Sonny's Pier. Lorenzo accuses Sonny of double-crossing him, but Sonny argues that Alcazar must have a traitor within his own organization. Sonny tries to convince Lorenzo that the explosion was caused by a third party who wants to prevent Sonny and Alcazar from forming an alliance and Sonny demands to speak to Carly! Lorenzo admits that the ship was filled with baking soda because Lorenzo was suspicious that something would stop the shipment so Lorenzo sent a dummy ship in place of the real shipment! Lorenzo insists that his shipment must be landed before Lorenzo will arrange a meeting between Sonny and Carly. Alcazar receives a call from Carly's guard, reporting that Carly has run into medical complication! Sonny suspects the call is about Carly but Lorenzo refuses to tell Sonny anything. Carly is surprised when a specialist arrives to check on Carly's "labor pains," and informs the surprised Mrs. Corinthos that he has been engaged by Alcazar to remain on board as long as Carly is Alcazar's "guest!" Alcazar's doctor frightens Carly when he calmly announces that they need to induce labor immediately because Carly's pregnancy appears to be in distress. Carly suddenly jumps up and admits that she is perfectly fine. The doctor then informs Carly that he is her personal physician and will oversee Carly's health 24/7 while Carly is on board.

Alcazar agrees to allow Sonny to see Carly and gives Sonny instructions to come to the pier alone and unarmed at midnight. Sonny agrees and Lorenzo leaves. After Alcazar leaves, one of Sonny's men reports to Sonny that the plan to blow up Alcazar's shipment, before the ship reached the docks, went off without a hitch! When Courtney returns to the Penthouse, Sonny asks Courtney to stay with Leticia and Michael while Sonny goes to see Carly. Courtney mentions nothing about Ric's claim to be able to get Carly out of Alcazar's compound safely. Later, when Jason arrives at the Penthouse, Jason is surprised that Sonny has gone out alone because Alcazar said that the gun-runner had arranged a meeting with Carly. Alcazar arrives at Carly's cabin and announces that she will soon be seeing her husband. On the Docks, two of Alcazar's men meet Sonny and make sure that Sonny is not armed and is, indeed alone! Then the two men put a black bag over Sonny's head and tie Sonny up!

Sonny grows more impatient to see Carly and wonders why he is on this jet with Alcazar that doesn't seem to be going anywhere but in circles. Alcazar tells him that he will take him to see Carly but needs him to do something for him first. Sonny doesn't like to hear that Alcazar wants something more from him after promising he could see Carly. He tells him he wants him to kill his brother. Sonny asks him why he wants Ric dead since he was his co-conspirator. Alcazar tells him that Ric is crazy and can't be trusted. He tells him the irony of what he is asking him to do since Sonny was in a way responsible for his own brother's death. Sonny agrees to have Jason kill Ric if he hasn't already. Alcazar hands him the phone. Sonny calls Jason at his penthouse. Jason answers while Courtney is in the room. He tells Jason that if he hasn't already done it, to get rid of Ric now. Jason starts to argue about that but he can tell by how Sonny said it that it isn't what is seems and says ok.

Jason lets himself in and opens the panic room door. Elizabeth (who has returned to get some things) watches in horror as Jason empties his gun with several shots in Ric's direction. Elizabeth screams for Jason to stop it. Jason hears her and gets angry with her for coming over to see Ric after what he did to her. Elizabeth fights him as he drags her out of the house and into the car. Elizabeth fights him as he carries her into Sonny's penthouse. Courtney comes downstairs when she hears Elizabeth accusing Jason of killing Ric. Elizabeth tells Courtney what Jason did and how he dragged her out of the car and how Max took Ric's body in a bag and threw in the trunk. When Courtney doesn't act surprised, Elizabeth realizes she already knew what Jason was going to do and didn't stop him. Elizabeth plans to call the cops and report Jason but he stops her from making the call. Elizabeth tells Jason that Ric did some horrible things but didn't deserve to be killed by him. Jason tries to explain that things aren't the way they appear but Elizabeth heads to the door to leave to report them. She hears Ric's voice telling her to wait. She turns around to see Ric at the top of the staircase, alive and well.

Carly gives one of Alcazar's men a list of things she needs to look good for when she sees Sonny again. The guy agrees to do the best that he can after she promises to owe him a favor when he may need it. He returns with makeup and a gown as well as the cologne she asked for. She asks him to zip the back of her gown for her and he agrees. She waits until his back is turned, and hits him with a glass vase. She goes to run out of the room and meets Alcazar at the door. Alcazar tells her that she has no where to escape since he has his men everywhere guarding the yacht and everywhere on the property outside the water. He tells her that she will see Sonny after he gets confirmation that Sonny had his brother killed. Alcazar gets a call confirming that Ric was killed by Jason. He allows Sonny to come in the room and reunite with Carly. Alcazar tells him that he is lucky Jason follows orders so efficiently so he can now see his wife. Sonny asks him to leave him alone with his wife. Alcazar leaves. Carly runs into his arms and tells him to keep holding her tight. He asks her how she and the baby are feeling. She tells him they are doing fine. Sonny holds on to her tightly and tells her he loves her.

Sonny tells Carly that she needs to be strong a little bit longer and that she has to trust him to get her out of there soon. They kiss and talk. Carly admits to him that she saw him on the monitors at the panic room and that she heard what he said to Jason and that she never really believed that Faith was his mistress and that he had to be up to something with the feds. They kiss and Alcazar interrupts them to tell him the time is up. Sonny kisses her goodbye. He tells Alcazar he will agree to any business deal he wants from him so that Carly can come home soon.

Jason ties up Ric and tapes his mouth shut so he doesn't have to listen to him. Sonny shows up and is angry with Jason for not killing him like he told him to on the phone. Jason explains that he didn't think he wanted him to kill Ric but just to make it look like he did for Alcazar's sake and that he put him here until he could find a safe house for him. Sonny doesn't like it but accepts Jason's decision to hold off. He approaches Ric and tells him he is taking him out. He takes him to Martha's Vineyard to the old house. Courtney gets upset and asks Jason to stop Sonny from killing Ric because she feels strongly that Sonny will feel guilty after he does it once his anger disappears. Jason tells her that he can't stop Sonny once his mind is set and tells her that Sonny is a lot stronger than she thinks. Courtney still isn't so sure he is right about Sonny's ability to handle this. Carly sees a phone in her room and goes to use it but one of Alcazar's men comes in and grabs it out of her hand and grabs her roughly. Alcazar comes in and tells him to let her go and if he ever does that again he will kill him. Carly isn't buying his concern for her welfare since he is still holding her captive. He suggests they play backgammon to pass the time. She agrees to play. Sonny takes Ric to the old house in Martha's Vineyard and grabs him and drags him up the stairs. He tells him that he never meant for their mother to fall down the stairs while she was pregnant for Ric and that since now after what Ric did to Carly he is going to throw him down the stairs and Sonny plays with him and tells him he should try this again.

While playing backgammon, Carly tried to convince Alcazar that if he let her go Sonny would still honor his promise to accept Alcazar's shipment. Alcazar called Carly's bluff and told her he was not that naive. Alcazar reminded Carly that her accommodations on his yacht were far better than the secret room Ric had kept her in. Carly won the game and called on Alcazar to pay up. Alcazar pulled a wad of cash out of his pocket. Carly snatched it out of this hand and discovered a picture of a woman mixed in with the bills. Alcazar stammered when Carly asked about the woman in the picture and demanded that she give it back. Carly asked why a photograph would have such a dramatic effect on him.

In an Emmy worthy major confrontation between Sonny and Ric at the Martha's Vineyard house: Sonny took Ric to the top of the stairs and threatened to kill him. He told Ric his whole revenge plot was based on believing in the lies he told himself. Sonny shoved Ric around, telling Ric that Ric hated himself, not Sonny. Sonny wanted Ric to beg for his life, but Ric stubbornly refused. Ric accused Sonny of beating their mother. Sonny told Ric about Deke and how he used his anger as an excuse to beat Adela. He accused Ric of being the same, taking his anger out on a woman and told him he was no better than his wife abusing step-father. Sonny told Ric that he was no better for what he did to Carly and to Elizabeth. Ric became very upset at the mention of Elizabeth, especially when Sonny told him that Elizabeth could be considered an accomplice thanks to Ric. Ric disagreed saying that Carly would tell the police that Eliabeth had nothing to do with it, Sonny yells at Ric that Carly is gone because of him, that Alcazar has her and blames Ric for putting his wife in the hands of a drug lord. Ric told Sonny that he had caused Carly's situation by building an empire so powerful that someone like Alcazar would want it, that Sonny made Carly a target.
