Sonny & Carly #8 February 12 - April 30, 2001: 8 hrs 40 mins

Carly told Sonny about her fight with Laura and how Laura thought she lied and manipulated; she wanted Carly out of the company. She was pleased and surprised when Sonny stood up for her. He said Laura would have a fight on her hands if she tried to get rid of Carly. They hugged and were kissing when Sonny spotted movement in time to throw Carly to the ground as a bullet whizzed by them. Sonny and Carly are able to escape harm…however as you can imagine Sonny is a bit shaken up by the fact that Carly almost got killed. Sonny's bodyguards show up after the shots were fired but they don't find anything.

Carly wants Sonny to go to the hospital to make sure that he has not aggravated his injury but Sonny would not hear of it. Sonny then gives Leticia orders not to leave the house with Michael and not to go anywhere without Johnny. Carly freaks out saying that everything that Sonny has done for her has been a form of distraction from Deception to the Wedding all a lie…Sonny is adamant about staying silent and handling the problem on his on by basically going back to the Penthouse and trying to send Carly upstairs. Carly asked him was the wedding going to be her memory of him before he dies…she then calms down and apologizes for the comment. They hug while you can clearly see that Sonny is plotting revenge.

Carly came into the office and was looking at Gia's photos. Laura asked her when she was going to tell her that she had set up a photo session at Theo's studio with another photographer. Carly told her Lucky had taken the pictures and Laura was surprised. Carly said he had a real talent. They argued and Laura said this partnership was a disaster and Carly agreed. She said she could handle it alone and she would buy Laura out. Laura didn't agree with that and they argued some more before Carly left. Stefan came and begged Laura once again to help him with Nikolas. He insisted Nikolas needed his protection against Helena.

Carly and Sonny were having lunch when she said that now she has Gia locked in as the face of Deception they have time to plan their wedding. She asked Sonny if he wanted to take the afternoon off to go look for a wedding dress for her. She said she wanted something special-something she could hand over to a daughter later on. "What if I told you it was a done deal?" Sonny asked. "You bought my wedding dress?" Carly asked. She argued about his need to control everything. She said he shouldn't even see her wedding dress before the wedding. Sonny said they were already married and the second time around they would make their own luck. She said some brides would get mad if their husband bought their wedding dress, but she wouldn't. She asked if Brenda or Lily got mad when he bought their wedding dress? He said he never picked out their wedding dresses; hers was the first and he promised it was also the last.

Her phone rang and she was going to ignore it but Sonny told her it could be about Michael. It was Laura, demanding to see her. Carly said she was all tied up, but Laura said Gia's pictures had just been delivered and they needed to talk. While Carly and Sonny were having lunch, Sorel was planning Sonny's demise on Carly gives Sonny a Valentine's card and tells him this is the only V-day she has had someone she truly cares about. He tells her Rick is guarding her. Carly and Laura discuss their problems. Laura admits that she's been doing basically what Carly has. They are both wrong. But she's still stuck on giving Liz another shot. They gush over Lucky's pictures and Laura say's she wants him to shoot Liz.

Sonny meets with Benny. He asks Benny if he is working against him. Benny assures him he'll never be disloyal. Just then a piece of the building crashes down. Jason sees the building on fire and rushes to help when he sees no one is coming out. Carly also sees the fire from Laura's office window and rushes to get Sonny. Sonny is trapped and Benny is unconscious. Johnny walks in and Sonny tells him to get Benny out of there. Sonny struggles to move but he can't. Carly is hysterical and Jason holds her back. Inside the burning warehouse, Sonny struggles to extricate himself but is pinned down by a fallen beam. As Johnny entreats the firefighters to save his boss, Jason dashes into the building and manages to pry Sonny free. The firefighters all pull out as it is too dangerous. Carly screams at them that they have to go in and bring out Jason and Sonny. Just as an anguished Carly begins to give up hope, Jason emerges from the smoke with Sonny in tow.

Back home, Sonny and Carly exchange Valentine’s presents. She gets ruby earrings. He gets cufflinks. Then Jason calls and tells Sonny that the spy was Rick. Sonny is very upset about putting Carly and Michael in danger. He wants Rick to pay. He tells Jason, “We’re ending this today.”

Jason, Sonny, Johnny, and another man bust in on Sorel, Rick, and Carlos. Sorel is very surprised to see Jason. Sonny asks Rick what he should do with him. Sonny put Sorel, Rick and Carlos on a boat after giving each of them a personalized speech for what he did for all of them. For Carlos, he trusted him with his territory (even started speaking to him in spanish) and for Rick, trusted his family with him, and for Sorel, for not killing him after what he did to him, Alexis, Zander and Emily.

Bobbie went to see Carly and Carly told her about the wedding in Martinique and she was trying not to look at the wedding dress that Sonny had picked out. She asked Bobbie to look at it and tell her if it was awful. Bobbie agreed and told her it was perfect. For once they didn't argue, they had a nice visit. Carly told Sonny this after he got back. They were in bed and having a nice conversation, but later when she mentioned Martinique, Sonny told her they weren't going to Martinique and she said they could have all their family and friends at the wedding. He told her there wouldn't be a wedding, the marriage was over.

Jason, Johnny and another of Sonny's men brought Sorel to the docks and tied him up to a post, gagging him. They made a call to the PCPD and Mac and Taggert found him there and Mac arrested him for the murder of Ted Wilson.

Sonny and Carly had a very emotional day. He told her their marriage was over, they were getting a divorce. She objected, she said she loved him and she knew he loved her; he told her he had come back for her after his near death experience. They went round and round, Carly crying and trying to get Sonny to see reason; he was determined to stand by his word, he wanted to protect her and Michael. She said how it had been a year since he took them from the Quartermaines, a year since they became a family. He insisted they weren't a family. He would buy her a house and give her child support for Michael. She asked if there ever was a chapel on Martinique. She left his room and he threw something and broke down.

Sonny remained unchanged in the morning even though Carly thought he might have changed his mind. She came in their bedroom to find Sonny removing his wedding ring. Carly did her best to persuade Sonny to let go of this get rid of Carly and Michael plan. She gave him examples, pointed out that she was scared before too, she even called him a man scared of love, a coward. Sonny was towing the hard line. He told her that he could not watch his wife and child die again. It is too much and he cannot bear the though of this.

In this instance Mac and Johnny burst in the bedroom. Mac stated that he had a warrant and Johnny saying that he tried to keep him downstairs. Sonny asked them to leave. Before he left, he told Carly that he needed her and Michael to be gone upon his return. Carly was crying, she just did not know what to do from here. She began by taking Sonny's wedding band and putting it on her finger. She packed her suitcase and pulled out the wedding dress. Leticia brought Michael in to say good bye. Carly put Sonny's ring on a gold chain and was off to Martinique, she is hoping Sonny will follow her there.

At the police station both Mac and Taggert tried to work Sonny and Jason to reveal more information. It was to no luck because you know how good the two of them are with silence. Alexis arrived quite punctually and demanded the release of her clients. Alexis got what she wanted. Mac had to release them because he really had nothing on them. Sonny and Jason signed the release forms and they were on their way.

Carly arrives on Martinique and heads to the chapel to await Sonny. She has flashback after flashback of their time together all affirming that Sonny loves her. Meanwhile, Sonny asks Jason to fly to the island and bring Carly home to her son. Jason explains to Sonny why it would be impossible for him to make Carly hate her husband. He pretty much tells Sonny no that he won't go, Sonny is shocked. Jason has never said no to him before.

Sonny arrives on Martinique and viciously insults Carly in a desperate attempt to drive her away from him forever. Determined to save her marriage, Carly informs Sonny she's not leaving the chapel until he weds her in the sight of God that she loves him. Later, Carly cries tears of joy to see the man she loves walk through the door.

Sonny, dressed for their wedding, woke Carly up. She opened her eyes, then shut them again. All of a sudden she woke up, saw him dressed up and asked if she was dreaming. She asked why he hadn't woken her up earlier and he said they had lots of time. She said the worst was over now and asked if her prayers had been answered when she was at the church. Sonny told her she just refused to give up. She said she wasn't ready to say goodbye. She told him she brought the earrings he had given her and asked if he had brought the cufflinks. He said he would wear them for their anniversary. He said he had to square things with the priest and would send a Limo for her. She asked if this was the part where he left and never came back. Sonny told her he would be gone by now if he was going to leave.

Sonny went to the church and the priest came out and asked why he was there. Sonny said he wanted him to marry them. "You changed your mind since yesterday?" the priest asked. Sonny told him they loved each other and wanted to be married in the church. He showed the priest their license and reminded him they were already married. The priest said he would be happy to marry them when they were ready. Sonny went and lit a candle and was praying. Carly came in and heard Sonny talking. She listened and then went outside to come back in without him knowing she was there before. The wedding resumed.

Sonny and Carly said their vows and exchanged rings that were blessed by the priest. They got back to their room and Carly asked if they were really married. Sonny said they had been married for months, what's she talking about. She said she felt different, didn't he? He admitted he did. She said she knew how he liked religious ceremonies, but she felt holy; like God's presence was in the chapel with them. She said she felt even deeper in her heart that they belonged together; did that sound corny. "Not at all," Sonny replied. He said he made a commitment and she, Caroline Corinthos, was his wife for better or worse. She said there was something they didn't do at their first wedding. "Oh, oh," Sonny groaned, expecting the worst. She said they didn't have a wedding dance and he agreed to that. They danced, then had their wedding night.

Carly awoke to find Sonny gone. She was worried that he had left. She walked to the beach and found him sitting there pondering. She was short with him, but he asked her to stay and sit down. Didn't you come here to get away from me? Carly, he said, I will never get away from you we are married now. They both laughed. I came out to the beach because I could not sleep. I came down here to end things with you for good, but instead I married you. I just need time to let it all catch up to me. Carly looked concerned and worried. Sonny asked her why she was doubtful now. You would not let me leave you. You accused me of leaving Michael. Carly said that I cannot compare to Lily and Brenda. He said that losing Lily and Brenda made him what he is today. I never thought that I could love. I was wrong. I have you now Carly. They held each other on the beach.

Sonny continued and explained about how he asked Jason to come to Martinique and bring Carly back, but Jason refused because he wanted us to work things out ourselves. Even on the plane Sonny thought of ways to hurt Carly. But each time he tried it hurt him inside. Now he realized that he truly loves Carly and she is part of him. Carly also opened her heart. She spoke of the first time they met. Sonny's eyes were cold and mean just like ice. Then another time they met Sonny's eyes were just filled deep with pain. At that moment she knew that Sonny had a deep love to share inside. She told him that he has a special light inside that is so loving and wonderful, he just cannot see it because he is too busy blaming himself for all the wrongs. Carly told him that being loved by you is worth any risk, and baby it is!

Carly and Sonny return to the penthouse and receive a warm welcome home from Jason and Michael. Sonny assigns Jason to take supervision of Zander until the young man delivers his testimony against Sorel. Gia encounters Carly strolling through the park and breaks the bad news about her swiftly defunct modeling career, that Laura has chosen Liz as The Face of Deception. Carly vows to shut the company down before she'll let Elizabeth become the new Face of Deception.

Carly, Sonny and Alexis arrive at the Deception gala and the reporters circled around them asking Sonny questions about the fire and his recovery. Sonny told them to talk to his lawyer, indicating Alexis; he said it was his wife's night launching her new company. Carly said if they wanted to ask about Deception, follow her. The Quartermaines ganged up on Alexis about Zander. She tried to defend him but they decided to leave, not wanting to be at a party where the criminal element was welcomed. Ned and Alexis spotted each other and Ned commented to Chloe that Alexis was in her element, defending the indefensible. They walked by Alexis, Ned not saying a word to her.

Laura asked Carly if she could get the photographers away from Sonny. Carly very snidely commented that Laura picked the food, the guests and the "face", deal with it herself. Laura said she would and started to walk away. Carly said okay, Laura was right, the reporters were here for Deception, she would see what she could do. Laura thought they should get the reporters together and make the announcement. Carly persuaded her to wait, keep them in suspense. Laura agreed and decided to make an announcement that there would be an announcement. While she was doing that Carly asked Gia if she still wanted to be the face of Deception. Gia said yes but isn't it a little late. Carly said it wasn't if Gia wanted to work for it. She told Gia to make sure Laura went up to the roof and then leave her stranded there for about half an hour.

Sonny's penthouse (earlier): Carly was talking to Elton on the phone saying she was glad she checked on the menu, it was a disaster. She made some suggestions and Elton told her Laura was just as invested in their success as she was. Carly said it was too bad they couldn't agree on as much as a celery stick. Elton said there had to be a middle ground somewhere and he was determined to find it. Sonny took the phone from Carly and told Elton they would be there shortly. Carly protested that it was a business call. He said they were going to have a glass of champagne before they go. He told her she was doing a great job. She thanked him and said not everyone thinks so. She said they were all going to find out what she could do tonight. Sonny toasted Carly and said she had nothing to prove to him or anyone. "Where did that come from?" Carly asked. He was guessing she had a scheme. She said she had no secret plans as far as their marriage was concerned. He knew she was up to something. She said she didn't butt into his business and not to butt into hers. She was ready to leave but Sonny told her they had to wait for Alexis.

"Who invited her?" Carly asked. Sonny said he did so he would have someone to talk to. "What am I, chopped liver?" Carly asked. Sonny said she would be busy, working the room, charming the contacts; she wouldn't have time for him. She said she would always have time for her husband. She said if he got bored she was sure Elton would love to entertain him. Sonny laughed. She said he could give Elton cooking tips. "Or I could be across the room with Alexis," he replied. Carly said she would probably arrive in her grey power suit.

Alexis came in and said she had heard that. She wasn't dressed in grey but was in a suit. She said of the top 500 things she didn't want to do, this was about 499th. She told Sonny he owed her. He asked about Zander and she said he was behaving himself, following the rules to the letter. Carly suggested Alexis could stay home if the launch party wasn't her idea of a good time. She went on to say she pop popcorn and read a law book. Alexis said she didn't know what a good idea that sounded. Sonny told Carly to save it. The three of them left together and Carly accidentally on purpose closed the elevator doors before Alexis got there. She opened them and apologized like she was miss innocent.

Quartermaine mansion (earlier): Chloe came in to the family room where Ned was waiting. He told her she looked gorgeous. She thanked him for the compliment and for going to the party with her. She didn't feel up to going by herself. "Still miss Jax?" Ned asked. She said partly and partly she felt out of the loop. She needed to go and reconnect with her contacts. He asked if this was another Ned/Alexis set-up. She said no, she's done all she can, they were on her own. He asked if Alexis would be there but she didn't think a cosmetics party would be Alexis' idea of a fascinating evening. She told him he didn't have to talk to Alexis if she was there. He asked if she was suggesting he hide at the sight of Alexis. He had nothing to hide from. It was over between them and it was time to get out and about again.

Deception: Laura made the announcement that in about half an hour or so she would name the new face of Deception. "Are you crazy?" Gia asked Carly. She wanted to know how she was supposed to lock Mrs. Spencer on the roof. Carly said no problem, she paid the maintenance man a bundle to make sure the door was unlocked. She told Gia she had half an hour to get Laura on the roof or she was going to announce "miss muppet", referring to Elizabeth, as the new face of Deception.

Carly had arranged for a sample of perfume to be spritzed on guests and Laura asked why she didn't tell her. A.J. and Hannah arrived and Carly asked Laura if she invited them. Laura said she invited all the Quartermaines. Carly said she could have run A.J. by her. Laura said she gave Carly a copy of the guest list; it wasn't her fault if she didn't read it.

Carly told Chloe and Ned she was glad they could come. Elton came and spritzed them and Chloe told Carly it smelled wonderful and she really thought Carly had a feel for the cosmetics business. Chloe said she was glad Sonny was feeling better. Carly said she wouldn't have let him miss this party for anything. "Neither would his lawyer," Ned said snidely. Carly told Ned to keep his and Alexis' problems away from her. "So much for social pleasantries," Ned said. Chloe told him to go say hello to Alexis, he would feel better.

A.J. came up to them just then and commented on the swell party. "Shouldn't you be falling down drunk by now?" Ned asked. A.J. looked over at Alexis and commented that she ditched him for a life of crime, wasn't that the first for one of his ex-wives. He made a couple more ex-wife remarks before Chloe told him to stop.

Alexis asked Sonny if Ned was still looking at her. "You're asking me?" he asked. She wanted to know if he was headed her way. Sonny said no. "Are you sure?" she asked. Sonny saw Shafer staring at him and asked Alexis if she could get rid of him. "Do you want me to throw him out the window?" Alexis asked. "Don't answer that," she added.

Gia went up to Sonny and said she didn't mean to disturb him, but she wanted to say how great it was that he was there in support of Carly. He said it was his pleasure. She said most important men wouldn't bother. He said he would do anything he could. Alexis came back and told Gia she looked wonderful. Gia thanked her and left. Alexis asked Sonny what that was all about and he said the kid had an angle, no doubt about it. Gia told Mr. Shafer that Mr. Corinthos would meet him in the lobby. He asked why she was giving him the message. She said isn't Sonny the only reason he's there. He left.

Later she asked a waiter to tell Laura Spencer that Mr. Shafer wanted to meet her now on the roof to discuss a photo for the new face of Deception; he wants the city in the background, go figure. He wants everything set up before the official announcement is made. She said he was waiting on the roof now. Alexis came over and told Sonny the annoying man was gone, can she go home. Carly told her she was being paid to party, so party.

The waiter went to Laura and told her Mr. Shafer wanted to see her on the roof. "Excuse me?" Laura asked. She looked around and didn't see Mr. Shafer. Mac said that didn't mean he was on the roof. Laura asked Mac if it was her imagination or was Gia staring at her all night. She said Gia had guts showing up there tonight. Laura went up to the roof to meet with the photographer. Mac joined her. Laura and Mac climbed up to the roof to find no Mr. Shafer. They talked about the party for a few minutes, then Laura said she was cold and wanted to leave. Unfortunately for them, Gia had been there to lock the door, leaving them stranded on the roof. Laura wondered how they could have gotten locked out, then her eyes narrowed as she thought about it.

Carly told Sonny the party was almost over. "Why do I feel you're up to something?" Sonny asked. "Why so suspicious?" Carly answered. She promised there was nothing going on. Gia told Carly she had Laura locked up on the roof but there was a man with her, Mac. "You locked her up with Mac Scorpio?" Carly asked. Carly told her Mac had been a P.I. as well as a Police Commissioner, he could pick a lock. "You expected me to know that?" Gia asked. She asked why Carly just couldn't make the announcement now. "So they can walk in halfway through, do you want that?" Carly asked. She spied a container of glue and told Gia to put glue in the lock.

Laura told Mac that this had Carly written all over it. Mac said it was no problem, he always carried his lock pick with him. They made bets how long it would take him to get the door unlocked. They didn't forsee Gia putting glue in the lock before he could try. He told Laura it looked like someone put glue in the lock, they were stuck. Neither one had their cell phone on them. Mac asked why Carly would do this and Laura said she was probably downstairs announcing Gia as the face of Deception. Scott went over to Sonny and Carly and said he was going to buy back Deception, tonight. Sonny told Carly to wrap things up so she went to make an announcement. She thanked everyone for coming and said how she had assembled everyone together; how the road had been long, but they were just about there. The reporters were asking who the face of Deception was.

Carly's plan worked. Laura was stuck on the roof unable to make her announcement about Elizabeth. Nikolas and Lucky wondered what happened to their mother. Lucky and Nikolas confronted Carly. Everyone started to raise his or her voice. Sonny immediately came to Carly's rescue. Lucky told Sonny he would talk to his wife any way he wanted to talk. Alexis interjected and suggested that they all do this another time. All agreed. Sonny and Carly left.

Scotty was still searching for Laura. He went up to the roof to discover the lock was glued shut. He yelled for Laura, but she was unable to hear him. Laura and Mac was dancing now to stay warm. Scotty went to get the maintenance person to help. Scotty had to offer $100 to the guy to get some real work done. Finally the door opened and Scotty went flying through only to find Laura in Mac's arms dancing. They all left the roof and went to the main office. Laura's sons immediately run over to her to find out what happened. She accused Carly of locking her out of the party. Then Laura told the girls that Carly was hurting not only Elizabeth but you too Gia.

Sonny and Carly arrived at the penthouse. Carly was pretty ecstatic over her triumph and plan to prevent Laura from announcing the Face of Deception. Sonny was in tune to her actions and asked her how she got rid of Laura. At first Carly tried to weasel her way out but Sonny put her on the spot and asked what happened. Carly confessed, but did not admit to any wrongdoing. Sonny was giving her a hard time, and told her to back off. Carly insisted that she was doing what she had to do, just like him. Sonny warned Carly that if she plays duty there are consequences for that.

Scotty and Laura got a big surprise when they confronted Carly at the Penthouse about locking Laura on the roof. When Laura began ranting and called Carly "crazy" and "psychotic", Sonny stepped in and told her to stop. Laura told Sonny she wanted Carly out of Deception. Sonny shocked Laura when he told her to resign or figure out a way to work with Carly, otherwise he and Carly would buy her out. Afterwards, Sonny threatened Carly with selling Deception if she doesn't "straighten out".

Worried about Nikolas catching her in a lie, Gia asks Carly if she's planning a double-cross. After explaining the next step in her convoluted plan, Carly assures Gia that she will be the next face of Deception.

Deception photo shoot: Laura was having the first shoot with Elizabeth as the face of Deception. Everything was going well until Carly came and ruined things. She made fun of Elizabeth. Carly and Laura argued about what was right for Deception, with threats on both sides to buy the other one out. Finally Elizabeth got fed up and left, telling them to let her know when they had everything settled.

Sonny told Jason they have to take Zander to a safehouse before he gets killed because of his recklessness; or gets someone else killed. He asked Zander to come see him and blasted him for what happened and said he was going to a safehouse. Zander was agreeing to anything Sonny wanted but Alexis disagreed. She told Sonny she was responsible for Zander and he was not going anywhere. They went round and round but Alexis won. Later Scott went by to see Sonny. Johnny didn't want to let him in but Scott yelled at Sonny through the door about hiding behind his goon. He let Scott in and asked what he wanted.

Carly called Gia on her cell and asked her to stay at Jake's; she'd be there to talk to her. She told Gia that Laura and her had signed off on Elizabeth as the face of Deception and told Gia somehow that was going to help her. Jason came down just then and saw them together. Carly was happy to see Jason but he didn't look happy to see her.

Scott wanted Sonny to sell Deception back to him but Sonny wouldn't. Scott brought up Karen and what Sonny had done to her. Sonny brought up the fact that Scott didn't come forward as her father. They went round and round with the insults but nothing was resolved. Later Carly came home and Sonny told her how she wasn't behaving like a businesswoman, just a child. He told her that maybe he should do what Scott wants and sell Deception back to him. She told him that her and Laura had come to a truce.

Carly and Laura argued about Deception and Carly told Laura that Sonny would sell dream out from under them if they didn't come to a truce. She finally agreed to sign off as Elizabeth as the face of Deception and told Laura that maybe she would compromise on some other points. They agreed to try again. Scott was just kissing Laura when Sonny walked in. "This explains a lot," he commented. A suspicious Jason takes Carly home so that he can speak to Sonny about the way Carly treats Liz. Sonny again threatens to take Deception away from Carly, who insists that she and Laura have come to a compromise and can work together. Sonny offers to get her a different business, one she can run alone, but Carly won't even consider his offer.

Sonny's penthouse: Carly enter holding a package. Sonny asked where it came from and Carly said she assumed her husband had given her a gift. He said he didn't use a messenger service. She started to open it when Sonny grabbed it and threw it across the room. "What was that?" Carly asked. Sonny told Carly there was a system in place where Johnny checks out any packages before they came in. He asked who would send her dead flowers. She said it was potpourri and you put in a bowl and made the bathroom smell nice. She looked at the card and said it came from a French perfume house, congratulating her on the rebirth of Deception.

Carly left to go to Michael's school for a bake sale and Sonny called Jason. He had found another note in the box saying "Boom, Zander Smith wouldn't be testifying". Jason came over and they talked about Zander and he had Alexis come over. He told her to move Sorel's trial date up. She said she wasn't prosecuting the case and she wasn't Sorel's lawyer. She couldn't do it. He reminded her that he paid her well and she said she was Zander's lawyer before Sonny got involved. She told him to quit throwing the money in her face. She said Zander wouldn't be going to a safehouse and she would see what she could do about speeding things up. After she left, Sonny told Jason they should have dropped Sorel while they had him.

Carly was on a rampage today. She had set her mind to the fact that Sorel had threatened her family and she was determined to find out what was going on with him. She tried to get Sonny to divulge this information. He talked to Carly about trust and how she has to trust him. He told her that she was not in any danger and to let him handle his business. Carly finally let it go and then they started to get romantic. They were kissing and Carly was removing Sonny’s jacket when Jason stormed in the penthouse and insisted on speaking to Sonny.

Carly went back into her terrified mode thinking that Jason or Sonny were in some kind of danger. Jason tried to reassure her that this had nothing to do with business but she was on a rampage and was not letting it go. Sonny asked her to go upstairs. She refused. He asked her again and reminded her of their recent conversation and the trust that she was supposed to have for him. Finally she relinquished and went upstairs but she still gave them a piece of her mind. Jason told Sonny that Lucky tried to kill him at the pier. Sonny was shocked.

Sonny told Jason they had to take care of Sorel and Jason was the only one he trusted with the job; unless he didn't want the job. Jason said to tell him what the job was. "Sorel is desperate, which makes him dangerous," Sonny told him. He went to see Sorel in jail and things got out of control. They had to shut Sorel down, they couldn't count on the courts to do it.

Sonny interrupts Ned & Alexis on the pier. He told Alexis he had to talk to her, it was important. She told him not tonight, she had plans. He insisted it had to be tonight. She told him she had a life, she was busy. Ned stopped them both and suggested a compromise. He asked Sonny if he needed Alexis for long and Sonny said an hour at the most. Ned told Alexis he would go home, pack a bag and meet at her place in an hour; how did that sound. She said it was unbelievably reasonable. Sonny told Alexis that Sorel was going to make a move on Zander tonight. They raced off to her place to try and stop Sorel's men. They were too late, Zander was gone. Someone ripped what looked like a pillowcase off Zander's head and Zander looked and said, "you".

Carly walks in on Sonny and Alexis discussing the Zander "kidnapping"(Jason has him on Sonny's orders). Carly blows a gasket and picks a fight with Sonny. She said: "How long will it be before Michael and I are killed in an accident?" That's the last straw for Sonny so he tells her to Shut up, and he leaves. Carly realizes that she has gone too far. Sonny storms out and is sitting on a park bench. Sonny freaks out when he sees a father speaking sharply to his son and flashes back to Deke hurting him and his mom. Sonny intervenes, and the man says "My son was almost hit by a car". Sonny told him that he was sorry for interfering. This scene triggered a flashback which involves his stepfather's abusing him and his mom. Carly regrets having said ugly things to him. Music montage.

Though Zander tries to rationalize away his actions, Sonny angrily reminds the boy how his reckless behavior was endangering not only his own existence but the lives of others. At the safe house, Sonny fills Jason in on how Carly leapt to conclusions about his relationship with his attorney. Worried that he's losing his grip, Sonny asks Jason to let him know if he spots anything out of whack.

Sonny told Jason he found Roy in the garage. He didn't think Alexis suspected they had Zander, but figured Roy was suspicious. He said they just have to keep Zander safe till the trial. Jason asked if Carly was still upset. Sonny said he didn't know, heleft early. He said they fight and don't always resolve things. He didn't want Michael growing up like that. Jason said that Zander told him Monica was sick and he wanted to go see for himself. Sonny said he would get Johnny to watch Zander. Zander came out of the bathroom and asked if Sonny had brought Emily. He said she was upset about her mother. Sonny said Jason would take care of that. Zander kicked at the furniture. Sonny warned if he did that in front of the judge, Emily would be seeing him in jail during visiting hours, if he lived that long.

Carly was asking Johnny about Sonny but not getting the answer she wanted, she hung up. The phone rang and Carly asked the person where the ad campaign was and if it had been sent over that morning why wasn't it on her desk. It had been delivered but was on Elton's desk. Sonny showed up with a big bouquet of flowers and was about to go into Carly's office when she opened her door and they literally ran into each other, the flowers falling to the ground. Sonny caught hold of one and held it to her. They laughed.

In her office, they both apologized for what happened the night before. She thanked him for the flowers, they reminded her of Martinique. He said that was the idea. Sonny said how he grew up where there was fighting, he didn't want that for them. He said a man that couldn't control his anger around women and children wasn't much of a man.

Carly grabbed the mail off Laura's desk and said she shouldn't have to open the junk mail. Laura said she liked going through the mail and it wasn't junk mail. There was an envelope from Chong Rinehart. Carly said they could deal with that later. Elton came flying into the room with some urgent messages. He said since the launch party the phone hadn't stopped ringing. He said if they were smart they would hire an assistant for him. Laura took the urgent messages and Carly the not-so-important ones and agreed to meet for lunch and discuss Elton's to do list. Later Carly managed to snatch the envelope off Elton's desk and take it into her office.

Gia headed for the elevator after meeting with Laura but Carly caught her and took her into her office. She showed her the picture naming Gia the face of Deception. Gia asked where she got it and Carly said all she needed to know was that in a couple of days she would be named the face of Deception. Gia thanked her for going to bat for her but she wasn't sure she even wanted the job anymore. This didn't sit well with Carly who threatened Gia if she didn't co-operate. She said she will destroy the relationship with Laura and Nikolas, telling them that Gia was the one who locked Laura on the roof at the launch party.

Sonny and Alexis were frantically searching and calling for Michael. Sonny assumed Sorel was behind his disappearance but Alexis didn't think so. "What would Sorel have to gain by taking Michael when he has Zander?" she asked. They split up and agreed to meet again in the same spot in ten minutes. They met again, neither having any success. Alexis wanted to call the police but Sonny wouldn't let her. He said it was his fault; he should have brought Sorel down when he had the chance.

Meanwhile Michael was with A.J. who told him he was his daddy. He told him about being at the house and A.J. spending time with him. He gave him a little teddy bear he said was Michael's favorite toy when he stayed at the house. A.J. asked if Michael could call him daddy but Michael said he already had a daddy. Sonny and Alexis were talking when Alexis noticed Michael and told Sonny. Sonny hugged Michael and told him not to go running off like that, he scared Sonny. He asked if he wanted ice cream and sent him off with Alexis so he could blast A.J. A.J. went to follow them but Sonny stopped him asking "you bastard, you took him, didn't you?"

"Admit it, you snuck up like a punk thief and took him," Sonny demanded to know. "He's my son, I have a right to see him," A.J. defended himself. He told Sonny he hadn't taken him, Michael came to him. He had been all alone in the sandbox, he was lucky it was A.J. who took him, not Sorel. Sonny said he was only a few feet away. A.J. said Sonny was a rotten father and he, A.J., was Michael's father and he couldn't do a thing about it.

Gia had a bad dream about being on trial for all her lies and blackmailing. Carly, Elizabeth, Laura and Emily all called her liar and even Nikolas rejected her. She woke up yelling.

At the penthouse, Sonny faces the unhappy task of filling Carly in on Michael's day. Unwilling to burst his wife's bubble, Sonny elects not to reveal the truth to Carly. Later, however, Michael spills the beans to his startled mother about a certain man in the park. After cooling off, Carly apologizes to Sonny for accusing him of not being able to protect her and her son but admits that she's always going to be afraid of being hurt by A.J.

Carly was telling Gia about her plan to launch her as the face of Deception; they just had to keep Laura in the dark until tonight. She told Gia she would have everything she wanted. Her picture was already in the magazine and she had a great PR firm lined up. Gia said Laura would hate her, so would Nikolas. Carly said she would take all the blame; she would also take all the credit when sales go through the roof. A.J. was lurking in the bushes watching them. Would he rat out Carly to Laura? Gia continued to protest that if anything went wrong she would lose Nikolas. Carly promised nothing would go wrong. She urged Gia to go home; make herself beautiful; and watch what she said around Laura.

After Gia left, A.J. stepped out into the open and said he hoped that Gia survived her, Carly, because he knew their little boy wouldn't. They yelled at each other as usual, making threats. Deception party at Luke's: Cameron Austin, Belle magazine, introduced himself to Laura. She thanked him for coming. He said his magazine wanted to rush a fashion layout for Gia for the next month's issue. His editor ordered him to be first in line to book a couple of days with Gia. Laura said there must be some confusion because Gia wasn't on contract with Deception. "Then what's this?" he asks Laura as he shows her the layout in the magazine with Gia's picture.

Courthouse: Sonny tells Zander he did a great job testifying but now he's responsible for his own security. He warns Zander to be careful. After Alexis left with Emily and Zander, Roy tells Sonny that he's keeping quiet about Sonny's role in Zander's disappearance only because he's returning a favor Sonny once did for him. He tells Sonny that they're even now, and he won't associate with the mobster again.

Later, Alexis watched Zander and Sonny talking, her attention not quite on what Dara was saying. She saw Johnny hand Zander his watch. She questioned Zander about where he had been held. Zander said he didn't remember much. She told him not to say anymore, she knew he was sworn to secrecy. She said it was gratifying to see he was a little uncomfortable. She said she knew it was Sonny who had held him. Roy had rescued him but Sonny had let him go.

Sonny came downstairs, dressed in his tuxedo. Carly saw him from the mirror and whistled. "Something you're trying to tell me?" he asked. "You're too handsome," she complained. She asked him to never let her go. He said he wouldn't. She said she would make him proud tonight. He said he was always proud of her.

Alexis storms in the penthouse, demanding to know about Zander. After Alexis had slapped Sonny, Carly ordered her out of there and out of their lives. Alexis said not until she was finished, and she was not finished. Alexis tore into Sonny verbally and he told her he kept Zander alive, he testified, Sorel is put away; end of story. They argued back and forth with Carly trying to come to Sonny's defense. Sonny just shut Carly up. Alexis told Sonny what he did was witness tampering and the case could be thrown out, would be a mistrial. Sonny said it was over; forget it. Alexis said she was finished and left. "She'll be back," Sonny said. Carly didn't like that. She went to check on Michael and when she came down told Sonny to go see him, he looked so cute. He said he would but took a drink and sat down. They had a huge fight and Carly left to go to the Deception party on her own. Sonny later arranged a flight and left, leaving Carly a note.

Luke's Club: Laura told Cameron there must be some mistake, referring to the magazine layout. He said he was the fashion editor of Belle Magazine, how could there be a mistake. She told him Gia was not the new face of Deception. He said she should be. Laura told Scott to look at the picture of Gia, then look at the girl herself. She wanted to know what he thought. He said Elizabeth really was pretty. Laura said Elizabeth really wanted to be anywhere but here.

Laura went to make her announcement. She thanked everyone for coming and hoped they were all having a good time. Carly came in, water logged since she refused to stay in the Limo that was stuck in traffic. Carly made it to Luke's just in time to hear the great news. Laura finally announced the Face of Deception; and the model is Gia Campbell!

Everyone, except for Lucky, was thrilled about the news. Nikolas and Gia hugged and even Laura herself finally recognized that Carly was right. Laura acknowledged that Carly was correct and told her that is why she chose Gia; her decision was based on all the right reasons. Unfortunately for Carly no one paid her any attention. She had worked and schemed very hard for a good cause, but still she came up short. All were focused on Gia and Laura. Lucky was steaming from the news. Elizabeth was quite relieved. Laura went over to Lucky and Elizabeth to apologize. She told Elizabeth that she had finally heard her and realized that she really did not want to be the Face of Deception. Lucky was still angry, but Laura stuck to her decision and told them both that she loved them.

As Carly was leaving Luke's she ran into Sonny. Carly began to pour out her heart to him. Sonny told her that Johnny would take her home. She yelled she was not going home. She asked him to just listen to her for one time. I just wanted you to be proud of me. I only wanted the company to succeed so that you would be proud of me. Sonny mentioned that he was already proud of her. He just was not good with expressing himself at times. Carly told him that she was dead right on her instincts with Gia and tonight Laura finally realized she was right.

Carly admitted that if she had listen to him and Laura in the beginning she would have saved them a lot of time and money. If I knew how to compromise better, my life would be different. But I don't - and it would not be me. If there's one thing I know about myself, it is that I just cannot, not be me. I can't be something that I am not. And I am not; I am not the woman for you. I am not the woman you want to be married to. I do things in my own way. I need to make the kind of mistakes that only I can make. I can't be afraid that you won't love me anymore because I do that. All I wanted to do is get inside. You are like a brick wall Sonny. I just want to love you, but you don't. You don't want me to and you want to be alone. Okay I want you to be happy so I will let you be alone. Carly goes running off into the park and it is pouring down rain. Sonny followed after her. When he grabbed her to stop. He told he that he wanted her back. Sonny pulled Carly into him and they embraced in a passionate kiss.

Carly stopped kissing and pulled back. She said, I can't do this. Sonny said, its over. What's over she asked? He told her that she was his whole life and that's all that matters. Carly mentioned that he said it didn't work and that they didn't belong together. Tell me, what can we do? Sonny suggested that they get out of the rain. They both laughed and left the park together. At home in their bathroom they teased each other about being more than a handful. Sonny stated that a handful doesn't even begin to describe you. Carly replied that he wasn't exactly a piece of cake either. Sonny then stated that is why they belong together.

Carly started to talk, but Sonny stopped her and said won't you be quiet and let me take care of you. The bathroom was beautifully lit with candles and a bath drawn. Sonny began to undress Carly. Later after they made love Sonny handed Carly an envelope. She looked puzzled as to what could this be at this moment. She opened it and to her joy it was the share that Sonny had signed over to her. Carly was a full partner now. Carly immediately commented that this was what she spoke about earlier. This is what she wanted from him to believe and trust in her. She also said that she wanted to give him something too, but it was not about business. I want to give you a baby. The two started to kiss.

Carly came to the office and told Laura that Sonny had given her his one percent of the company, making her an equal partner. Laura made it clear that as far as she was concerned, nothing had changed and she was there to stay. Realizing what distrust her past actions had caused, Carly told Laura she didn't blame her for being angry and that she would be angry too! Both ladies agreed that Gia was the right choice and that it was time to move forward as equal partners.

At the courthouse, the jury announces the verdict, it's guilty! Sorel is sentenced to death and remanded to the prison to await sentencing. While waiting for prison transport Sorel is confronted one last time by Sonny who tells him that he wants this moment to be the last one Sorel remembers before he dies. Sonny tells Sorel, "I used to say it was all right - that there was enough for everybody. But then you made it personal."

Carly is telling Michael that she and "Uncle Sonny" are trying to make a brother or sister for him. Sonny watches and listens from the stairs. Sonny asks Leticia to take Michael. After refusing breakfast, tells Carly that she should not be talking to Michael about them having a baby. Or is she pregnant? "No," she replies "but both other times happened after just one time." Sonny says maybe they shouldn't rush in to it. Carly doesn't understand. He didn't sound unsure when she brought up the subject before. She jumps to the conclusion that it has something to do with his upcoming birthday (and his bad memories of them). Sonny denies it. She asks if they are in danger from Sorrel or Carlos. Sonny denies that also. Carly expresses her belief that Sonny will be a great father, after all he is great with Michael. Finally she asked "Do you want to have a baby with me?" Sonny answers "no". Sonny & Carly argue about wanting a baby now. Sonny agreed to a small birthday celebration for him with the three of them. Carly stormed out and went for a walk.

Mike went to wish Sonny a happy birthday and found his son despondent. After getting him to open up, Mike realized that Sonny's problem is not fear. Mike told Sonny, "You don't think you deserve to be a father!" As usual, Sonny became defensive and denied that Mike was on the right track. Mike tried his best to convince his son that he could protect Carly and the children. Sonny continued to express doubt.

Carly confided to Jason that she was planning to take matters into her own hands regarding having a baby. Jason warned her of the consequences if she lied to Sonny or tricked him into having a child. Lucky suddenly appeared and began hurling insults at both Jason and Carly, accusing them of having an affair. Although Jason tried to calm both Lucky and Carly down, the situation escalated to the point where Lucky launched another physical attack. When Elizabeth came along she again assumed that Jason had been the attacker, not Lucky. Carly ripped into Elizabeth, calling her a spoiled little girl who can't make up her mind. When Liz asked Lucky to tell her the truth he walked away. At that point Jason asked Liz to come away with him.

Carly, Michael and Sonny are celebrating Sonny's Birthday. Camera focuses on one present, as Carly announces it's time to open them. Sonny opens presents. First (from Michael) a hand drawn place mat. Then Carly's (as she comments that they used the wrong ribbon). It's a BOMB. Sonny makes Johnny take Carly and Michael away.

Jason arrives at penthouse. Sonny is still holding bomb. If he moves it will go off, Jason better scram. Jason offers to take bomb so Sonny can leave. "Too risky" says Sonny they have to find way to disarm it. Jason manages to defuse bomb, with Sonny's instructions. They discuss the situation. They can't get to Sorrel, on death row, but if they take out his loyal people, the problem will be solved. Jason will have to disappear again for it to work. Sonny remains upset. Michael wanted to open the presents. What if Sonny had let him! Jason leaves after Sonny thanks him. Sonny calls Johnny and tells him to bring Carly and Michael home. Carly questions Sonny about who sent bomb. Sonny replies that he is not sure. Carly asks if that is the reason why he doesn't want to have a baby, because they are not safe yet?

Sonny and Carly discuss the safety issue. She thinks he has done a good job. He refuses to put another life at risk. After he asks, she grudgingly gives her acceptance of his decision. Later she comes down stairs and tries to get Sonny to bed. He accuses her of lying to him, then trying to go ahead and get pregnant anyway. When she admits it (sort of), he looses his temper and sends her out of the room. Later (from the stairs), Carly watches a sadden Sonny (in the living room) who leaves when he realizes she is there.

Sonny looked for Carly in the penthouse, but Johnny told him that she had already gone to the office. Alexis arrived with several boxes of Sonny's files and they debated over who was right/wrong.
