2002 GH & PC Weekend Events

GH Luncheon 2002 #6 - 2 hrs 22 minutes SP

This starts with arrival at the Sportsman's lodge and some hotel location shots, Thursday night around the pool, fans, scrapbooks. Interview with Dylan - his first interview, takes place in the pool (approved by his dad. Dylan Cash (Michael Corinthos III) was swimming. I asked his father and him if I could interview him. He had never been interviewed so I talked to him while he was in the pool (he corrected me when I said he played Michael Corinthos the second as he is the 3rd!). He is a Carly fan, and an S&C fan (as he should be). He commented that if Sonny went back to Brenda or Alexis that Carly would leave the penthouse and he would go with her! So we know where his loyalties lay. He was not interested in seeing Michael live with the Q's but likes being a Corinthos. He was very funny differentiating between upstairs (where they tape the show and AJ is mean) to downstairs where the dressing rooms are (and Billy is nice).

Friday brings the soap boutique and I included footage of this with shots of the photos available for purchase from the GH and PC fan clubs, and a clip of Debbie O.Connor and Debbie Morris. Then I interviewed Scott Eagan poolside. On Sunday, I taped the outdoor boutique with all of the individual fan clubs, the fans lining up to go into the ballroom. Several of the individual fan clubs had tables like Vanessa's, Becky's, Coltin's, Scott, Leslie, and John York. There was a Jim Warren photo table, an S&B remembered table (this was new). One of my favorite things was the "I want more Mac" stickers that Lisa created and passed out at JJY's table. Lisa reported that, "Over 250 people were wearing those stickers, including John! LOL It was a surprise for him and I think he was really happy to see he had so much support from the fans! "

I had been invited in to the Press Room before the GH event and had the opportunity to interview some of the actors. I interviewed Evan (the new Lucas), he is adorable! He had just started working on the show and he reminds me of a young Jonathan Jackson. So we could be in for a treat. He reported that Jackie was very nice to him and made him feel at home. Then Robyn Richards arrived and it was such a pleasure to see her again in the role of Maxie. She was accompanied by Lindsey Leatherman (new Georgie) and they look great together, like they could actually be sisters. Robyn is thrilled to be back, and Lindsey commented on how Robyn befriended her and made her feel at home. I also spoke with Becky Herbst (Liz), Michael Saucedo (Juan), Loren Freeman (Elton), John J. York (Mac), Jackie Zeman (Bobbie), Steve Burton (Jason) and Jacob Young (Lucky). Blake (Coleman, strip club owner) is great. I really enjoyed meeting him and he has SO much charisma. Someone let out that he would be hanging around for a bit longer so I was glad to hear that. Chad Brannon (Zander), Coltin Scott (Nik), Wally Kurth (Ned) all talked about their various foundations/charities and events. Then it was into the main ballroom for introductions.

Also in attendance at the luncheon was: Scott Eagen (Johnny), Denise Alexander (Leslie), A. Martinez (Roy), Ted King (Alcazar), Tamara Braun (Carly), Billy Warlock (AJ), Robin Christopher (Skye), Dylan Cash (Michael Corinthos III), Ron Hale (Mike), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Kin Shriner (Scott), Alicia Willis (Courtney), Marisa Ramirez (Gia), Leslie Charleson (Monica) and John Ingle (Edward).

Fan awards were presented to:

Favorite Actress - Nancy Lee Grahn
Favorite Supporting Actress - Leslie Charleson
Favorite Actor - Maurice Benard (not there due to illness)
Favorite Supporting Actor - John Ingle
Favorite Villan - Billy Warlock
Favorite Couple - Sonny & Carly
Favorite Storyline - Sonny/Carly/Alexis
Favorite Offline Fan Club - Becky Herbst's
Favorite Official Web Site - Billy Warlock's

Plauques were presented commemorating the 25th Anniversary on the show for Leslie Charleson, Jackie Zeman, Kin Shriner, and Stuart Damon (not there due to recooperating from back surgery). This was presented by a Q&A and the actors were asked questions from the audience.

Additional comments during the autograph session by Billy, Leslie, and John Ingle (they also display their awards), Dylan, John Y., Scott, and Marisa. (No Ingo and Vanessa did not attend, Stuart was out with back surgery).

PC Dinner 2002 #7 - 2 hrs 3 minutes

I included shots of the Sportsman's Lodge Hotel, the soap boutique, the raffle items, pictures, interview with Tamika from Soap Center. In the press room, I interviewed George DeMoss (head of security), Joy (Marisa), Kiko (talks about his role in Bad Boys 3 coming in summer 2003), Eddie Matos (Ricky), Erin Hershey Presley, Brian Presley, Brian Gaskill, Jay Pickett, Kelly Monaco. Erin and Brian P. are so adorable together. They talked about their wedding, travel over the summer, they moved, did a remote for PC (but wouldn't tell where). I just love them. Kiko is a nut and there is no one nicer. He announced that he is in Bad Boys 3 with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Really all of the PCers are such nice group of people. They all seemed very happy and were great with the fans. No one would talk about the next book though Kelly said it was great and one of her favorites and she thinks might be the best one yet (SOD also reported this next one would be really good so I'm looking forward to it!). Note - she is NOTHING like Livvie! She says the next book is going to be "pretty amazing" and she thinks they have outdone themselves. Brian G. is more quiet and reserved, and very sweet. This was his first event and I don't think he had any idea of the attention he was in for. He hinted that "fans of the past would be happy" in regard to Rafe & Ally. I met Eddie (Ricky) and Joy (KC/Marisa) and there were both very enthusiastic. I talked with Susan Brown and Peter Hanson and they were very warm and gracious as always. I was relieved to see Jay Pickett there and he relished the fan's interest in whether Frank would survive the Avatar. All too soon it was time for the event to start. The actors were introduced, then the fan awards were announced.

Then it was onto the main ballroom for the event. The actors are introduced and the following awards were presented:

Favorite Supporting Actress - Erin Hershey
Favorite Actress - Lynn Herring
Favorite Supporting Actor - Brian Gaskill
Favorite Actor - Brian Presley
Favorite Couple - Rafe & Ally
Favorite Storyline - Miracles Happen - accepted by Jon Lindstrom and Lynn Herring
Favorite Online Fan Club - Kiko's

Also in attendance were Susan Brown, Peter, Lynn Herring, Jon Lindstrom, Thorsten Kaye, Marie Wilson, Carly Schroeder, and Nicholas Pryor.

Nolan North mceed the Q&A was absolutely hysterical. He came down to the ballroom floor while the rest of the actors remained on stage. I laughed so hard. Its a good thing I had a tripod or that would be one shaky video! When Jay was asked what he wore under his shroud he wowed the crowd with his answer, "a size 10 pair of work boots and a thong!" As Kiko talked about his summer, we could hardly hear his response as he talked longer, Nolan layed down on the floor pretending sleep and the audience is cracking up! Susan Brown brought a lei that she had handmade for the fan who had traveled the furthest. It was Andrea Hofer from Germany who attends each year.

After the Q&A, the actors adjourned to the autograph tables. Everything seemed to go very smoothly, and Jon and Lynn's line was huge (just in case anyone was wondering why I didn't get to interviewing them. They had arrived later in the press room and were surrounded). Nolan held court and did a running monologue. I could have just stood there all night and listened to him! I also interviewed Carly, Nicholas, Marie, and a brief message by Thorsten.

Ladies 2002 - #8 - 1 hour 50 minutes

Breakfast With The Ladies - Guests Erin Hershey, Marie Wilson, Tamara Braun, Jamie Ray Newman, Sarah Laine. I included pre-event shots of the room, fans lining up, the photo table, auction and raffle items. Then I included Marie's arrival. I interviewed Alicia, Jamie, Sarah, Erin and Tamara. Sarah shared that she originally had auditioned for another role on GH. Jamie talked about doing "Catch Me If You Can", a Speilberg movie. Erin recapped wedding gifts she had received the night before at the PC Event. Tamara clarified that she had only asked for a couple of days off last spring. The writers had already scripted Carly's death so it was not written around Tamara but worked out well for her to have some time off at that time. She also sets the record straight that her and Nancy are very good friends and adore working together.

Tam takes some photos with her mom, then enters and hugs Debbie O'Connor, then Debbie Morris. Then its time for the Q&A. They talk about taping love scenes, co-stars. Jamie Rae laments that more effort wasn't put into reviving Kristina. Alicia wished that she would have had some notice about the stripping so she could have taken some dance classes ahead of time.

Nancy Lee's Event 2002

Pre shots of the tables, fans, the ice cream works. Constance Towers sent a gift (Nancy calls it "Candy from Connie") for the raffle with her regrets about not being able to attend. Nancy talks about doing the Kristina death scenes and how Ron Hale, John Ingle, and Maurice all worked with her and helped her prepare for those. She talks about getting a new dressing room. This is funny, and you have to see Billy's reaction and his take on the whole story from his viewpoint! She also talks about her new foundation honoring her father's work. She shares that the highest number of letters received by ABC in November were condolences to her for her father's death.

Steve, Billy & Kin 2002 #9 - 2 hrs 15 mins

Billy Warlock & Kin Shriner's Event - guest Coltin Scott

Billy talks about the dressing room situation. Billy announces it is Kin's 25th year on GH. There is a lot of storyline and character talk, discussion about the new writer's, the ending of the stripper storyline, and a lot of joking about all the digging in the Scorpio's backyard and the traipsing up to Felicia's attic. Coltin stops in, and they talk about Laura's departure and Genie's work in those final scenes. Billy teases Coltin about how he touches Marisa's face during love scenes. They talk about doing love scenes. Kin spoke fondly of the Dominque & Scotty story and felt that the reason it was so well done was that the guy writing it had a sister who had died from leukemia so he played "every note" of the story.

Coltin recognizes the "Hooter" ladies who had awarded him with the certificates for his category wins the day before at his event. Billy is very funny when he receives his Night Owl "Hooter" award for Favorite Male Character. Kin and Coltin tease him about how he beat out Maurice for that award.

Steve Burton's Event - He is really very funny. He does report that it looks like Jason & Liz MIGHT be getting together. Then he jokes about Liz and Zander in the crypt. He talks about his former production company, doing a mini-series in Canada, writing a script for Maurice. Steve talks about wanting to work on GH. He is there because he wants to be there as he likes to act, and sitting in a trailer all day for a week with no scenes wasn't for him. He reported that when he went in for "Last Castle" that he didn't tell them about being on GH. After he was hired, the producer heard a promo for one of his mall appearences on the radio! He had thought he had discovered Steve. Steve was also very funny about Michael not remembering Jason and having no connection to him. So Steve bribed Dylan with Pokemon cards to say "Bye Jason" to him in a scene! Steve also talked about Brenda's return and reports he and Vanessa have had some good scenes together.

There is an interview with a fan at the end of this. He came out to LA to audition and wants to be an actor and I thought it would be fun. His mom is also very sweet, and asked if I could make a point to get him on tape...he is very sweet telling mom "I Love You". (just in case you guys were wondering who he is and why he is on there...hey you never know who will hit it big!)

Wally's Concert 2002 #10 - 1 hr 50 mins

Guest: Jamie Rae Newman, Coltin Scott. Jamie sings three songs. I loved her singing on GH, but nothing like hearing her live. She is just amazing. She was actually nervous about singing a new song live for the first time and wowed us all. She also sang "You Made Me Love You" (she had performed it for the Valentine's show).

Wally celebrates his 11th anniversary on GH. Wally talked about growing up in Montana, his dad's health. They played their Emmy winning song, "Barefoot Ballet". The reported that this was the only one of their 14 original songs they had played on GH that they had submitted for Emmy consideration. While they sang this one, I had noticed Coltin in the audience earlier and I looked over saw Coltin slow dancing with an older fan (Shirley) and he was serenading her as he knew all the words. He ends it by kissing her on the cheek. K&T also played a new song, "Just Believe", and they played "Anything", "Montana Skye", and "Give Me Wings" - Wally joked this was Justin's greatest hit (from Days). Christian sang a song he wrote, "Power of the Heart" and said he thought of Lance Armstrong coming back from cancer to win his 4th Tour de France. Wally announces he and Coltin will be in San Diego on October 13th, 2002. They closed the concert with "Let It Go".

Coltin was not scheduled as a guest but Wally invited him up to take part in the Q&A. During Q&A, Wally talked about catching the acting bug early on. A fan joked about how little effort was put into saving Kristina's life, they expanded on how that scene was shot and why chest compressions weren't done longer.
