It has been two weeks since the Last Blast Dance. Mimi and her family are living with the Hortons and everybody is enjoying their summer. One night, Belle has the idea to go to Europe before Shawn, Chloe, and her go to work at Habitat for Humanity. She asks John and Marlena what they think. John says his jet has been fixed and can be ready in a week. Marlena then suggests Belle bring Chloe, Mimi, and especially Shawn. Belle is excited, and when John tells Brady he is ready to go too.
As it turns out, the Kirkiakis' are also planning a trip to Europe for the summer. When Marlena gets wind of this, she goes over and talks to Kate. Kate and Marlena set up their trip so that Philip will be able to be with Shawn, Mimi, Belle, and Brady at all times.
Later, at the airport, Belle breaks down and tells Mimi that she has feelings for Shawn. Mimi is excited for Belle, but disappointed because she also likes Shawn. However, Mimi then meets Brady and it seems that all of her sadness over Shawn has gone away.
Belle, Shawn, and everyone else find Europe very beautiful. They visit with newly married couple Austin and Greta who have moved away from Salem, Sami, and Eric to start over at one of Greta's mother's homes in France. Marlena tells Greta about Belle's feelings for Shawn.
Greta goes to talk to Belle about Shawn. She tells Belle that all you need to do is tell the man what your feelings are. Belle does so while she and Shawn are atop the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Atop one of the most romantic places in the world, Belle and Shawn share their first kiss as a couple.
Later, Philip and Chloe are at lunch at a French cafe. Philip tells Chloe that he wants to go out with her. Chloe says that ever since she met Philip she has had feelings for him, and Philip says the same of her. Belle, Shawn, and even Mimi are happy to hear the news.
After two weeks is up, the troop must return to Salem. When they get home Shawn, Belle, Mimi, and Brady get together to show each other pictures from the trip. While Shawn and Belle go to get some food in the penthouse's kitchen, Mimi and Brady go out to the balcony. With Belle and Shawn looking on, Mimi and Brady share a kiss in front of a beautiful background of a Salem sunset. ~ The End
