teenhollywood_nadia: I started singing when I was like 7 years old.
teenhollywood_nadia: With the singing, came the acting because i started doing musical theater and doing opera.

teenhollywood_nadia: I have time on the weekend for personal life.
teenhollywood_nadia: Most of my friends are actually people from the set, people I work with.
teenhollywood_nadia: Since we spend a lot of time together, I sort of consider some of my time at work being social as well.
teenhollywood_nadia: We usually hang out or do things together.
teenhollywood_nadia: But sometimes yes it is hard
teenhollywood_nadia: I can't really go away for weekends or take vacations or things like that because you always have to be around to work
cool_friend_for_you asks: WHY DOES CHLOE DRESS ALL IN BLACK?
teenhollywood_nadia: The entire character is very different.
teenhollywood_nadia: The reason she dresses in black probably reflects how she feels inside
teenhollywood_nadia: She doesn't have very high self-esteem at all
teenhollywood_nadia: She's extremely different from everyone else
teenhollywood_nadia: Her interests, upbringing and life is different
teenhollywood_nadia: She's basically been tossed from foster home to foster home
teenhollywood_nadia: she's never really had any love from parents or anything
teenhollywood_nadia: She's grown up on her own..
teenhollywood_nadia: Dressing in black reflects how she feels. She wants to be that way.
teenhollywood_nadia: Plus it's very simple -- she's doesn't have to deal with looking fashionable in the morning -- it's just something to wear!

teenhollywood_nadia: I'm sure I would be singing professionally as well as probably doing commercials or still auditioning and trying to get some other kind of acting work.
teenhollywood_nadia: I can't imagine doing anything in life except singing and acting.
teenhollywood_nadia: As for the second part of your question, I auditioned
teenhollywood_nadia: in New York and flew out to L.A. for a screen test
teenhollywood_nadia: a few days later I found out that I got the role and I moved out to California!

teenhollywood_nadia: I would have to say Patrika Darbo who plays my mother
teenhollywood_nadia: She gave me little hints as to which camera was on me

teenhollywood_nadia: She took time out of her own life when we weren't on the set to get together with me and practice before we could shoot
teenhollywood_nadia: Just so we could get a bit of chemestry going

teenhollywood_nadia: Mainly from my father who was a conductor and composer of classical music.
teenhollywood_nadia: He passed away almost 7 years ago, but I continued on with my music
teenhollywood_nadia: Basically I think I was born with it. It's in my blood!
teenhollywood_nadia: I grew up hearing it every day. I would sit at the piano and play and I went to concerts and the opera
teenhollywood_nadia: I became extremely interested in music at about age six when I started playing the piano

teenhollywood_nadia: The very first time I had to do a screen test, it was extremely nerve-wracking..
teenhollywood_nadia: I wasn't exactly sure what I should do and I felt a little stupid because I had to ask..
teenhollywood_nadia: I guess it was very uncomfortable
teenhollywood_nadia: You see all these eyes and cameras on you and you hope that it looks good and that it looks believable and that you're actually enjoying it..
teenhollywood_nadia: Although you're not in the least -- no matter how good looking of a person you're kissing.
teenhollywood_nadia: :)

teenhollywood_nadia: The show itself films 5 days a week -- Monday through Friday.
teenhollywood_nadia: Sometimes, before the Holidays, like before Christmas it films on Saturdays as well
teenhollywood_nadia: For me, it depends.
teenhollywood_nadia: The schedule differs
teenhollywood_nadia: I can be working 5 days a week, or only 1 day a week.
teenhollywood_nadia: It depends on how the story line is going
teenhollywood_nadia: The hours are very long
teenhollywood_nadia: Sometimes you show up at 7 in the morning and don't leave until midnight or 2 in the morning!
loreeanna asks: How do you feel about how Hollywood shows beauty as being thin?
teenhollywood_nadia: I don't like it at all
teenhollywood_nadia: I think a woman is beautiful when she has curves and actually has breasts and a backside!
teenhollywood_nadia: My view on beauty is someone who looks more like Marylin Monroe
teenhollywood_nadia: But I guess the fashion industry has told us that everybody is supposed to be so thin!
teenhollywood_nadia: Which I think gives everybody a wrong impression of what they're supposed to look like
teenhollywood_nadia: And it gives people unrealistic goals and hopes about what their bodies should look like
teenhollywood_nadia: What I've noticed is that -- what you don't realize is that most actors and actresses (especially actresses) are quite short
teenhollywood_nadia: So their bone structures are smaller, so most of them are naturally thinner
teenhollywood_nadia: Myself, I'm 5'8 so I can't possibly be as waify as the people on the show who are a lot smaller
teenhollywood_nadia: It leads people to have these unattainable goals for thinness that can't and shouldn't be reached.
teenhollywood_nadia: All these models and covers on magazines set bad examples for teenagers and young women
teenhollywood_nadia: Beauty shouldn't be measured by your dress size anyway

teenhollywood_nadia: No, I sing all kinda of music.
teenhollywood_nadia: I started off singing classical and opera music which is a really good foundation to begin with
teenhollywood_nadia: Then I also got interested in musical theater and broadway
teenhollywood_nadia: .. a little bit of jazz..
teenhollywood_nadia: I would actually like to persue a recording career as a pop singer some day!
teenhollywood_nadia: Or like Celine Dion-oriented music

teenhollywood_nadia: But I do love to dance.
teenhollywood_nadia: And I love to see really good movies as well

teenhollywood_nadia: I didn't go to a regular high school..
teenhollywood_nadia: I was in the music department in my high school and went to school with lots of "artsy" people
teenhollywood_nadia: Sometimes I can relate to my character Chloe as well
teenhollywood_nadia: I wasn't like her in High School but everybody has a little bit of that, that they feel at some point in their High School careers
teenhollywood_nadia: In New York City I also went to a school for professional children
teenhollywood_nadia: There as well it was very different
teenhollywood_nadia: I was always very busy in high school, with my singing and acting.
teenhollywood_nadia: I did it in school as well as outside of school
teenhollywood_nadia: But I never had a boyfriend ..
teenhollywood_nadia: I never went out on dates
teenhollywood_nadia: But it was all worth it

teenhollywood_nadia: Yes, he's great!
teenhollywood_nadia: He's so much fun to work with. I absolutely love him!
teenhollywood_nadia: He's an extremely talented actor as well
teenhollywood_nadia: That makes him very easy to work with -- plus he has a great sense of humor

teenhollywood_nadia: To always keep acting
teenhollywood_nadia: Those are my plans
teenhollywood_nadia: I don't have any set plans, I take everything one day at a time.
teenhollywood_nadia: I'd love to do movies and move on to bigger things in the future. That would be my ideal

teenhollywood_nadia: No, I'm not going to college. Too busy with work.
teenhollywood_nadia: That doesn't mean that you shouldn't

teenhollywood_nadia: No, I didn't. Of course I'd heard of days and I knew of some of the actors on the show, but I never was an avid soap opera watcher.
teenhollywood_nadia: I never really had time.

teenhollywood_nadia: I'm a pretty quick study -- I usually read them the night before
teenhollywood_nadia: Then I finalize them once I get on set, while I'm sitting in the make-up chair.
teenhollywood_nadia: When I'm getting my make-up done, I learn my lines

teenhollywood_nadia: I think I would because I know that the writers of Days wouldn't ever write anything that would be distasteful

teenhollywood_nadia: It is the cutest little thing. His name is Tiger

teenhollywood_nadia: They're little finches -- they're my mom's actually.
teenhollywood_nadia: My mom loves birds, we've always had lots of pets.
teenhollywood_nadia: When we lived in Florida, we had big parrots and other birds and they had names..
teenhollywood_nadia: My mom may have named these birds, but I'm not aware of it

teenhollywood_nadia: I've actually met a lot of people because my parents were very famous in Europe.. my father especially because he was in show business.
teenhollywood_nadia: I basically grew up meeting lots of music stars, kings and queens of different countries and having to perform for them.
teenhollywood_nadia: I can't really name one person in particular that I've been particularly amazed with anyway

teenhollywood_nadia: It's like a nightmare come true, it really is!! :)
teenhollywood_nadia: I think it's great because It's nice to play a role that I won't be stereotyped into
teenhollywood_nadia: People have always seen me as more of the belle kind of character -- so it's nice to play someone the complete opposite of what I would imagine myself playing
teenhollywood_nadia: I'm able to show a broad spectrum of myself
teenhollywood_nadia: I'm sure eventually Chloe will change and I can show a different aspect of myself.
teenhollywood_nadia: In the sense of a nightmare coming true --
teenhollywood_nadia: when I walk onto set and we're filming a scene with me walking into a classroom and everyone turns and glares at me, I feel like I'm really feeling that
teenhollywood_nadia: Sometimes tears well up in my eyes when they aren't supposed to in these scenes. We have to stop because they cut and tell me "That's not what Chloe is about.."
teenhollywood_nadia: and I apologize, but sometimes it happens. It really shows me what it would be like to be like that in high school and how you would never want to be picked on.
teenhollywood_nadia: Sometimes when people meet me in person they think I'm like my character..
teenhollywood_nadia: People take characters in soaps very seriously and they think I'm actually like that.
teenhollywood_nadia: I've either met people or got letters saying "don't let Philip pick on you." or "stop being mean to your mother"
teenhollywood_nadia: I even got a letter once from a person telling me clothing to wear. Telling me to take off the black clothing and the glasses.. Trying to give me fashion advice.
teenhollywood_nadia: And saying that the kids would like me more if I tried changing myself.

teenhollywood_nadia: My parents..
teenhollywood_nadia: My mother in one way, and my father in another way.
teenhollywood_nadia: My father was a performer.. the one with the amazing talent. He wowed audiences and I always wanted to do that as well.
teenhollywood_nadia: And my mother, because she's the one who always kept the family together and has been the strong one and has always known what to do.
teenhollywood_nadia: She's always been there and had the right answers.

teenhollywood_nadia: Anything with chocolate !
teenhollywood_nadia: I have a weakness for anything chocolate.
teenhollywood_nadia: If you want to win my heart, that's how you do it ! Just bring chocolate.

teenhollywood_nadia: The craziest thing ? Hmm...
teenhollywood_nadia: I don't know.. I'm sure I've done a lot of crazy things..
teenhollywood_nadia: But what comes to mind first is, I did "Search Party" for E! Entertainment Television in Hawaii
teenhollywood_nadia: and they wanted me to be host for one of the episodes one day
teenhollywood_nadia: That was definitely crazy!
teenhollywood_nadia: I even walked up to an elderly man and asked him if I could dump and entire can of shaving cream down his pants -- and he let me empty the entire can !!
teenhollywood_nadia: And for the show I also asked a guy if he would take all of his clothes off in public -- AND HE DID !! That whole show was pretty crazy!!

teenhollywood_nadia: Afraid of them? No
teenhollywood_nadia: I think I appreciate them more than anything because where would any of us be without them.
teenhollywood_nadia: I feel more flattered and honored that people feel this way about me or appreciate what I do
teenhollywood_nadia: Or take the time out of their busy lives to come and see me at some event or ask me for an autograph

teenhollywood_nadia: I do. I hand-write each one of them, which is why sometimes it takes awhile.
teenhollywood_nadia: I sign the pictures and I read them all myself
teenhollywood_nadia: And I keep them all too

teenhollywood_nadia: Math, definitely. I hated Math !!
