Jodie Sweetin
Jodie Sweetin was born on January 19, 1982, in Los Angeles. She lives in a small town, outside LA, together with her parents Janice and Sam. (Janice once guest starred on Full House, playing a neighbour). Jodie is an only child.
Jodie was really smart already as a child. She learned to talk early, and she could read by the time she was three. Jodie liked to dance and to entertain people, and friends of the family advice the parents to get Jodie into show business.
She did her first commercial at age four (a commmercial for hot dogs). After that she made several other commercials before she got a part in the sitcom Valerie (later called The Hogan Family).
The producers of Valerir, Thomas Miller and Robert Boyett, were making a new sitcom called Full House. They were amazed by Jodie's talent, and offered her the part of Stephanie Tanner without even an audition.
Like many teenagers, Jodie has had a lot of different dreams for the future, some of them were: becoming a doctor (or pediatrician), an astronaut or a techer. But her biggest dream is probably to perform in musical theater. Jodie has been taking dancing lessons for many years, and at age 13 she also started taking singing lessons.
Jodie celebrated her 13th birthday at Disneyland, together with the cast of Full House.
At age 13 Jodie was collecting angels and cherubs, and loved to listen to music. Especially Nirvana, Green Day, as well as classical music. Her favourite book at that age was Little Women (by Louisa May Alcott).
She enjoyed riding her bike, swimming, dancing, rollerblading and reading. Jodie also loves animals - she's got a dog named Lacey and two pet fish named Goldie and Spot.
But Jodie also cares about other people. She has helped raise money for Juvenile Diabetes research, and is also known to grant wishes to seriously ill children.
Although Jodie likes all of her Full House family, she is especially close to Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, who both played her little sister Michelle on the show. Usually the cast don't see each other off the set, but the Olsen family and the Sweetin family have even vacationed together a few times.
When Full House was cancelled, in 1995, Jodie decided to take some time off from acting. Although she did join the cast of Party of Five for their last season, where she played one of Claudia's friends.
