The Gundam Alex Heavy Armor found a way around the armor issue. The new heavy armor increased the defensive capability of the suit enough to withstand a chain of magnetic bombs. The extra armor absorbed all of the damage. Unfortunately the armor lost is never replaced. A slight loss in close range fighting is lost to bulkier armor. Overall it is the better version for the Gundam Alex.
