Part 7

Leery residence- Dawson wakes up to sounds coming from the bathroom, he puts two pillows over his ears....

Dawson: ( to himself ) The sounds of morning sickeness. Not a pleasant way to wake up. ( he rolls back over with pillows still over his ears )

Mitch is in the kitchen, trying to make breakfast,

Dawson comes downstairs....

Dawson: Morning. So, is it just me or did Mom's morning sickness kick in awfully fast?

Mitch: No. I think it's pretty normal to have the morning sickness early on.

Dawson: Poor, Mom. It sounds like she's in agony.

Mitch: She'll be okay. Don't worry. She's been through this before with you.

Gale comes into the kitchen, face pale...

Mitch: Here, honey. Sit down right here.

Gale: Thank you. I never thought I would be going through this again.

Dawson: You want some breakfast?

Gale: Not right now, honey. All I can stomach is crackers.

MItch: Pack of crackers coming up. Here ya go.

Gale: Thanks.

Dawson: Is it okay if I head out for a while?

Gale: Sure, Dawson.

Dawson: Okay. I'll see you guys later. Thanks. ( he leaves )

Jen is sitting on her porch drinking a cup of coffee, she sees him....

Jen: Dawson!

He turns around and goes by Jen....

Dawson: Good morning, Jen. I didn't think you were a morning person.

Jen: Usually I'm not. So, where are you off to this morning?

Dawson: Oh, I guess you haven't heard the news.

Jen: What news? You and Joey are back together?

Dawson: No. Even more surprising. My mom is pregnant. I decided to get out of the house while my mom is going through her morning sickness.

Jen: Oh wow! That must have been one hell of a honeymoon. ( she smiles )

Dawson: Three months in a tropical paradise.

Jen: Well, congrats on becoming a big brother soon. ( she smiles )

Dawson: It's weird. I never thought I would be a big brother. This kid is going to look up to me. But with me going off to college at the end of the year, I won't be at home as much to even see him or her.

Jen: So, you are pursuing a higher education outside of Capeside?

Dawson: Yeah. I think I am. I don't see my dream coming true if I stay in Capeside.

Jen: But Dawson, isn't there another dream right here? What about Joey?

Dawson: That ship has sailed literally and metaphorically. We're friends. Nothing more.

Jen: Do you really mean that? Because I have a feeling the Dawson/Joey saga is not over. And I know you feel the same way. You're just scared. awson: Can you really blame? Last year, was hell for me. You know that more than anybody. I really think Joey and I are better off friends. We're still a part of each other's lives. We're just not each other's lives.

JEN: I understand, Dawson, but Joey and I have become close friends and if you could hear the things she says about you, you could see how terrible she feels about the past. She loves you. Plain and simple.

Dawson: ( smiles ) What did she tell you?

Jen: I can't tell you. That's girl talk. Classified stuff. ( she smiles )

Dawson: It takes time, Jen. I love her too, but I just want to be friends. That's what I need right now. I"ll catch you later.

Jen: Okay, Dawson. Oh and one more thing. If you and Joey got back together, it wouldn't be surprising. No. To me and everybody else that would seem pretty natural. ( she smiles )

Dawson: ( smiles ) Bye, Jen.

He gets in his boat and drives away.....

Hmm... where is Dawson is headed? did Jen's conversation get him thinking?...;) Part 8 coming soon! :)
