Called to the scene of a double homicide in the middle of the night, Chase and August find clues that make them suspect the murders were committed by Douglas Westmiller, the female victim's ex-husband. When it turns out he's left the state, the detectives track him to Dallas, Texas. There they meet Texas Ranger Cordell Walker and his team, and together they discover that Westmiller has been using an alias and is behind a bigger plot that involves more than just murder... a plot that might also involve someone from Chase's past.
