This was a great episode that just continues the line of excellent LightSpeed Rescue episodes that we've been recieving this season. "Cyborg Rangers" placed a new twist on that classic PR plot, Evil Rangers. This time, the Rangers were not evil to begin with, they were simply robotic Rangers created by the government (Boo! Hiss!) To replace the current batch of Ranger teens.
It begins with the resident monster causing havoc. Less than 5 seconds after the opening credits, we're into a great battle! Now this is Power Rangers! Well...Sentai, but you get my drift. ;) Anyway, The Rangers are taken down by one of the monster's Lightning rod thingies and blasted. He's about to finish off the Red Ranger, when--ta da! The Cyborg Rangers roll in and give him a good butt-kicking. Spikey runs off with his tail between his legs and the Rangers look in awe of their Cybernetic saviors. They meet the creator of the Cyborgs---A bald guy! (Sorry, his name escapes me at the moment) and baldie makes a hasty retreat, saying that they have to leave now.
Back at the AquaBase, Mitchell asks Fairweather, who says she knows nothing about these Cyborgs! Who cerated them...well, A strange old man answers, he did. It's one of Mitchell's supperiors.
And thus great scenes unfold! I loved when Joel looked at them when he was about to give up his morpher. Keith's a really good actor, one of the better Ranger actors we've had. And boy did Chad look angry when that guy grabbed him! The Rangers are booted out, and the Psychos...er, I mean Cyborgs take their place!
But the real meat of this episode was when the Rangers took on the Cyborgs after they went crazy! These were some great battle segments. I particularly enjoyed Blue vs. Blue, and Red vs. Red!
Overall a great episode. Lookin' forward to next week's!
