Well, Lightspeed Rescue is here! And what a beginning it was! I still believe that Quasar Quest was a better primere, partly because it was a two-parter, which allowed for more character development. But, Lightspeed Rescue was very awesome.
First off, I loved the theme. It's not as good as the LG theme, but it's still quite good. I especially love the beat. Saban has proved again that he can ge excellent songs for PR. The opening credits were put together well. I loved that they started giving the Rangers' last names.
The beginning was a bit slow. The nomads were a bit funny, but overall this scene was just ok. This scene was astounding in how it parrelleled "Day of the Dumpster". The bumbling travelers accidently open an ancient tomb, releasing a group of evil.
Next, the supporting characters look very promising. While we have yet to meet Ms. Fairweather, the character of Captain Mitchell is very well done. I like that he's also the father of the Pink Ranger. He'll probably be very protective of the team, especially her. The actor who played him was very good.
The LightSpeed Aqua Base. I wasn't that impressed with the exterior, but whoa! The interior was very detailed. You can tell Saban spent a lot on it. It looked very professional.
The Intoduction of the Rangers was well done. Joel is obviously gonna be the funny one in this group, but his character isn't like Damon, which is good. Carter is cool. I loved the FireFighting scene that introduced him. Dana is hot and smart. Excellent combination. Kelsey had a good intro, climbing up the side of the cliff, and Chad had a good intro riding the whale. Once again, we seem to have a pretty well balanced group. So far, my faveorite characters are Chad, Joel, and Dana.
The Villians. While the scene introducing them was pretty quick, I can say this. I like the voice actor for Diabolico. The others are ok. I'll have to see more before I further my opinion of this group.
The Morphing sequences were great. I love that theme. I think it's just the words that keep it from being knockout great.
The Fights were excellent. Koichi's team keeps surprising me with eye-cathcing manuevers and great style. I loved when Carter flew into the pole, and Chad has great skills. I also loved when they morphed in front of everyone. So much for secret identities.
Overall, PRLR proves that PR just keeps getting better. This first episode gives me hope for a very promising season.
See Ya' Later!
