Jarod ran down the hospital halls until he found his wife.

"Melissa." He ran to her side and kissed her.

Parker saw his lip. "What happen?"

He touched his lip. "It's nothing. I'm worried about you. You are not due for another eleven weeks."

Dr. Powell walked in. "It looks like your contractions are slowing down. I have ordered lab every hour until the magnesium runs out. I want to keep you over night." Looking up from the chart the doctor noticed Jarod's lip. "Why don't you let the nurse take a look at that?"

"I'm fine."

"Well...I still want a nurse to look at that."

"I don't want to leave my wife."

"She is not going anywhere." She pointed to the door.

Jarod bent down and kissed Parker. "I will be back." He exited through the door.

It wasn't long until he returned. The blood was gone but his lip was swollen. "What happen?" He took a sit next to her bed.

"I had a little problem at Legacy."

"What kind of problem?"

"A little disturbance. It's over now. Tell me what happen to you."

"Quit changing the subject."

"I'm not. I want to know what happen to your lip."

"I got into a fight. Now what kind of disturbance was going on that got you upset?"

"Who said I am upset?"

"Melissa..."

"Okay, it was Lyle. He showed up and we got into a huge fight."

"I'm going to get him." Jarod stormed out.

"Jarod!" She yelled. The door closed. "Damn."

Broots entered. "I'm going to pick up the kids from school today. I don't want you to worry about them."

"Did you see which way Jarod went?"

"Simone grabbed him. I think they are talking."

Broots left and Jarod entered again.

"Jarod, I was..."

"It's okay. I'm more worried about you than that creep right now."

Dr. Powell re-entered. "Your contractions are getting better. I want you to stay in bed. I will be checking on you again before I go."

******

Jarod got his wife home safely. "Let me help you to bed."

"I don't want to go to bed."

"You heard what the doctor said. You are to stay in bed for the remainder of your pregnancy."

"I heard her, Jarod. How about if I sit on the couch first?"

He looked over at her.

"Come on. I'll stay here for the afternoon and then go to bed. I promise." She sweet talked him.

"Okay, but..."

"No, buts. I will do what you say." She replied with one eye brow raised.

"Now's the time she wants to do what I say." He said under his breath.

"What?"

"Nothing." Jarod walked off.

The door bell rang.

Jarod opened it to find Argyle standing there.

"J-man, what happen? I turn on the news to find out he's been arrested and you disappeared."

"I had to get to the hospital. Melissa was having some problems."

"Oh, I hope everything is okay."

"It will be if she does what she is suppose to do." He glared over at her.

"What?" She looked so innocent.

"Well, I just wanted to thank you. Good luck with your family." Argyle turned to leave.

"Argyle wait."

"What?"

"I know I am going to regret this but keep in touch."

"Really?"

"Sure." Jarod's head fell from the thought of seeing Argyle again.

"That's good because I moved not far from here."

"Oh...goody." Jarod was having already having regrets.

"See you later, J-man."

He wanted to make sure he was really gone before shutting the door.

"Honey?"

"Yes."

"Do you think we could sell the house?"

"Why?"

"Argyle moved close by."

"I doubt it since we just moved in."

"Are you sure our other house was too small?"

"Yes, Jarod a four bedroom house was too small. It would have been fine but you wanted a bigger family. I guess it is a good thing we have already moved in."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because I couldn't help you move anything now."

"Oh and like you did to begin with." He smiled and turned quickly before she threw that square pillow that she had in her hand.

She stuck her tongue out at him after that smirk remark.

******

A few days later Parker woke to the sound of cursing and banging coming from the next room. She carefully got up and waddled in there. She saw her husband sitting in the middle of the floor with papers, screws, tools, and biggest mess she has seen in awhile.

"What are you doing?" She had her hands on her hips.

Startled Jarod twisted his body to face his wife. "What are you doing out of bed?"

"I asked first."

Jarod got up from the floor and pulled the rocking chair out for her to sit.

"I'm putting together the sled bed that you wanted."

"You got it." She got excited.

"Yeah two of them. I figured since we were having twins we were going to have to have two of everything. Now, answer my question." He sat back down to the mess he had going.

"I couldn't sleep with all that cursing and banging that was coming from this room."

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you." He crawled over to her and sat at her feet. Looking up at her, "I'll go and sit with you for a while."

"I would hate to interrupt you with this lovely mess you have going." She smirked.

"Don't say it!"

"Say what?"

"You can do anything, be anyone but you can't put together a simple baby bed."

"I didn't say anything...genius." She laughed.

"Come on, let me get you back to bed. I was getting frustrated anyway." He assisted her up.

Jarod helped her place a pillow under her belly as she laid back down. He laid down next to her. He rubbed her stomach and talked to them.

"I love seeing you pregnant." He raised her shirt and bent down to kiss her stomach.

"Jarod!" She tried to lower her shirt but Jarod wouldn't let her.

"Come on, you're beautiful."

She laughed again. "Beautiful? Just like a beach whale."

It wasn't long until they heard footsteps coming up the stairs and right up to their bedroom.

"Hey, guys!" Parker replied as the door opened a tiny bit.

"Mom, you're awake."

"Yes. is there something you want?" Their little heads popped in.

"We wanted to check on you. We missed you." Dylan came in and sat next to her on the bed. Sydney and Kyle stood at the end of the bed.

"Where's your sister?"

"She's downstairs. She will be up in a minute." Sydney answered.

Dylan got closer to Jarod. "What are you doing?"

"I'm rubbing your mom's belly. You want to feel?"

"Yeah." Six small hands clued themselves to her.

"Guys!" Parker felt like a dead animal that just got attack by a buzzard.

"Okay, I guess we should let mom rest."

"Dad!"

"Don't dad me. Have you picked up your toys?"

"Yes."

"Then you need to help me get dinner ready."

"Dad!"

"Come on." Jarod got up from the bed. "Let's go. You can check on mom later." He got them out of the room and down the stairs.

******

Parker woke to the sound of a young Jarod saying, "Where are my mom and dad?" She carefully got up from the bed and waddled to the sound. She opened the door slightly to see four children sitting in front of a silver case.

"See what this one has on it?" Kyle asked handing another disk to Catherine.

"Guys, we have to hurry. If mom and dad found out..."

"You will be in big trouble." Parker interrupted Catherine.

They all quickly turned around expecting to see her hands on her hips but instead she had an eyebrow raised as she glared down at them.

"Yeah." Catherine whispered.

"Where did you get that?"

"Out of your closet." Sydney replied.

"What were you doing in my closet?"

They all looked at each other and didn't answer. Jarod came up the stairs and saw his wife standing in the door way of the boys' room.

"Hey, what are you doing out of bed?"

Parker faced him. "We have a small problem." Her hand stopped him before he reached the door.

"I can take care of it. You should be in bed." Jarod opened the door and saw the silver case sitting on the floor. He wasn't sure how to handle it. He wanted to gather up the case and yell at the kids but he knew it wasn't *all* their fault. He knew someday he would have to explain it to the kids but was hoping for a later time. So, he took a deep breathe, "Kids...."

Parker and the kids weren't sure if he was getting ready to yell or what he might do.

"Follow me." He turned, walked out of their bedroom and headed into his. Parker was first in line. She wasn't sure if she needed to stop them or protect them. Jarod sat down on the bed with the case. The kids and Parker joined him.

"Kids, this isn't going to be good. I'm not sure where to begin."

"Jarod..."

"It's okay. They have a right to know." He turned to the kids. "What to you want to know?"

"Tell us about the silver case." Sydney replied.

"Who were those people?" Dylan asked.

"Why did they take you from your family?" Kyle began.

"One at a time." Jarod rose from the bed and paced. "Those people....were not very good. They took me from my family because I have a gift and they wanted to study me. Does that make sense?" Jarod stopped and faced them. Four little heads stared up at him. "I have that silver case because they watched every move I made. That is my whole life on those DSA's." He sat back down on the bed.

"Daddy, why were you and mom not nice to each other?"

"Well..."

"I'll answer that one." Parker shifted on the bed. "It's more difficult than that. My father didn't want me to spend time with your father because I distracted him from his work. He made it clear several times that a Parker was to show no weakness and when I when I was around your father...I got weak." She looked over at him. "Your father couldn't take the Centre anymore. He wanted his freedom so bad that when he left I was put in charge of bringing him back."

"But you didn't." Kyle said.

"Things between us...well...they were not good."

"But daddy changed your mind." Catherine replied.

"That's a whole different story."

"But mom what happened between you and daddy?"

"I went away to school and when I got back things between us...changed."

"How?" They all settled down ready for the answer.

"Lies. Everything that I was told was lies." Parker shook her head.

"Same here." Jarod agreed. He looked down at his watch. "It's time for bed."

"Come on dad. Just a couple of more questions."

"Two more. That's it."

"Why did mommy have to bring you back?"

"See, kids...I knew things. Bad things. They had me perform sims and some of them were not good. When I escaped they knew I could expose them. They didn't want to take any chances. They wanted me dead or alive but perferred alive. I couldn't go back there. I loved my freedom. I used to do bad things to your mother until I found out the truth behind her sadness. Then I changed her mind." He looked over at his wife. She took his hand.

"Guys, time for bed." Parker said as Jarod kissed her hand.

"But we have one more question."

"It can wait until morning. It's late and past your bedtime."

"Mom..."

"Go!"

They got from the bed and headed out.

"I'll be there in a minute to tuck you in." Jarod yelled.

"I'm proud of you." Parker gazed into his brown eyes.

"Proud of me? Why?"

"I wasn't sure how you were going to handle them finding the case."

"To tell you the truth...me neither. I think they have a right to know about our past but I was hoping they wouldn't have to find out. I wanted to protect them so much."

"I know." Parker reached over and kissed him.

"Daddy!"

"I'm coming." He leaned into her ear. "Wait up for me." He left her side.

"I'm not going anywhere." She smiled as he exited out the door.

The End!
