International Airport
Memphis, Tennessee
Parker stood in front of the window, waiting for the plane to arrive. Jarod walked up to her handing her a cup of coffee.
"Aren't you going to ask?"
"Ask what?" He took the empty chair in front of her.
"For me to stay." She sat down next to him.
"You know I want to but I already know the answer to that question."
"Not even going to try." She tilted her head sideways.
"Only if you are hinting you will stay."
The plane taxied to the gate.
"Then are you going to ask?" She listened to the announcement being made.
"It depends."
"I don't have all day here, Jarod."
They watched everyone board the plane. "Last calling for flight 1208 to Delaware."
He sat there watching as she stood.
"Ma'am, are you boarding?" The flight attended approached her.
"See you around, Jarod. I guess this means you better watch your back." She handed him her cup of coffee as she walked down the walkway to the plane.
Jarod stood at the window as he watched the plane taxi down the runway.
"Wait!" He yelled as his hands hit the glass. "I need on that flight." He ran to next booth.
"It's to late, sir." The lady informed.
"But you don't understand. I need to get on that flight."
"It has left for the runway."
"Can you get it back?"
"No."
"Then can you get me to the runway?"
"I'm sorry."
"Damn it." Jarod took off running down the airport. He searched for a way to get outside. He had to get on that flight or get someone off that flight. As he made it outside, he saw the plane take off. "Shit!" He screamed as he threw the empty cup down on the ground. "It's to late. I just let her go." He mumbled to himself. Then he got a glance of the tall dark haired woman coming toward him.
"Parker." He spoke. He watched her come closer to him. "Parker!" A smile came to his face.
"If you don't ask this time, I'm getting on the next plane." She smiled as he grabbed her for a hug.
"Okay, will you stay with me?" He broke loose of her.
"I don't know." She saw his smile turn to a frown. "Yes. I'll stay but I thought you would never ask."
Jarod put his arm around her and they walked off to the car.
"What took you so long anyway?"
"I was afraid you would say no." He opened the car door for her.
"Man for a genius you aren't to smart." She faced him as he started the car.
"I knew you were going to stay."
"Oh really. Then why did you let me get on that plane?"
"Cause I wanted to see how far you would go."
"What if I hadn't got off?"
"You would have."
"But what if I hadn't?" She turned his head to were he had to look at her.
"Then I would have been at your house, waiting on for you." He reached over and kissed her. "I promise."
He put the car in drive and pulled out of the parking lot.
"Jarod, I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" He asked as he glanced back to her.
She leaned over to whisper in his ear. "I love you." She gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"You do?"
"Yeah. Why you don't love me?" She sounded worried.
"Yes. I love you." He took her hand into his hand and kissed it. "I love you. I love you!" He shouted.
Parker laughed. "Where to now?"
"Somewhere far away."
Jarod entered the interstate as they drove off leaving the town behind them.
The End!
