The Great Escape
By: Southern Belle

It had been two weeks since Jarod met his wife. He got his plan in order and informed them what to do.

Mr. Parker walked into his daughter's office.

"Angel."

"Daddy." she answered in a husky voice. She still hasn't forgot what he done to her.

"This just came in." He handed her a piece of paper with a location on it.

"What is it?"

"We got word that Jarod is there. I want you to bring him in and this time he comes in. Got it."

"I got it."

She stood up and walked out leaving her father standing in her office. She walked into Sydney's.

"Hey, it's going down."

"Let's move."

They found Broots, gather up their things and took off.

"Where's Debbie?" Parker asked.

"She's at her Godmother's."

Sydney turned to Parker. "How do we know this is not a set up?"

"I don't know Syd, but I guessing this is his way of telling me it's not."

They landed in New Mexico, with a car waiting for them.

"I'm scared." Broots said.

"It's going to be okay."

"You're not scared."

"Yes, I'm scared. What if something happens and I leave my daughter without a mother."

"It's going to be okay." Sydney tried to calm them both down.

The car stops at the first location. They got out and ask the normal questions. They went from one place to another as usual."

Sydney got out his cell phone and began dialing.

"Who are you calling?" Broots asked.

"My son."

"Why?"

"Well, just in case something happens I want him to know that I love him."

"Not a bad idea. Can I borrow that when you are finished?"

"Sure." The phone rings forever. When he doesn't get a an answer he decided to try Michelle's house. "Damn."

"What is it?"

"No answer."

"Well, maybe he's out."

"Or maybe something has happened to him." Sydney answered.

"Can I use your phone, now?"

"Sure." Handing it to Broots.

"Parker."

"Mmm."

"I don't like this." Sydney whispered.

"I not caring much for it either, but what are we supposed to do?"

"I don't know. Follow it and see what happens, I guess."

Broots came back to them. "Debbie is gone."

"What are you talking about?" Parker asked.

"I'm telling you. I called to check on her and she is gone."

"We'll find her."

"Parker, you don't understand. She is my life."

"Broots..."

"Oh, I forgot. You do understand." He hung his head.

"Now, what?"

"Well, we follow the leads. That's what!"

They walk into a old country store. "Have you seen this man?" Parker asked showing the guy a picture of Jarod.

"Oh, yes. I know Jarod. Everybody knows him."

"Well, can you tell us where we can find him?"

"I would like to but I don't where he is. He hasn't been in here for a while."

"Can you tell me if he had a baby with him?"

"A baby. No. I can't say that I have. You might want to ask the elderly lady that lives up the street. Jarod stayed with her for awhile."

"Thanks." Sydney answered as they left.

Heading up the street, a elderly lady was sitting on her porch.

"Excuse me, ma'am, but have you seen this man?"

Looking at the photograph. "Yeah, that's Mr. May. He had the most beautiful baby."

"He had a baby with him?" Parker asked concerned.

"No, he showed me pictures of her. Darling little thing. Hey, you look familiar.

"Have we met?"

"No, I don't think so."

"Did he say where he was going?" Sydney asked.

"No, not really. He mention several places."

"Can you tell what some of them were?"

"Sure. Let me see if I can remember....LA, New York, and...no I think he said he was from there."

"From where?" Parker said impatiently.

"Blue Cove. I believe is what he said."

"This is a waste." Parker whispered to Sydney.

"Hey, I know where I know you from. You are the lady in the picture."

"What picture?"

"The picture the other two guys had."

"What other two guys?" Parker asked as her eyes opened wider.

"One was a black guy the other well, I didn't get a very good look at him."

"Willie." Parker and Sydney said at the same time.

"Thanks for you help." Broots commented as they turned to leave.

"Willie is here?" Broots asked.

"Yeah, now we have to find him before Willie does."

"I can't believe your father sent someone knowing you were searching for him too."

"I can." Parker answered as she got in the car.

The driver took them to the next town which wasn't very far. Jarod looked out the window from his apartment and saw them pull up.

"Now where?" Broots asked.

"I guess over there."

As they began to go across the street her phone rang.

"What?"

"Look up." Jarod hung up the phone.

She looked at Sydney.

"What?" he asked.

"Look up." They both looked up and saw a window open.

"There." She pointed.

They made their way in the building and up to his floor. Parker had her gun pulled and looked in every room. They came to one room where the door was slightly opened. Making they way in there, they heard a noise.

Parker pointed at Broots. He walked over carefully peaking behind the door.

"Nothing." He replied.

"Great." she answered lowering her gun.

Jarod popped up behind her. "Hey."

They all jumped.

"What in the hell are you doing?"

"You are taking me back."

"What? I don't remember this being part of the plan."

"I don't remember this being part of the plan either." Broots said looking at the window.

Parker walked over and looked down. "Damn. Sweepers."

"It's okay." Jarod answered.

"Now we have to make this look good. Hit me."

"What?" She said laughing.

"You have to hit me."

"Why?"

"To make it look like I put up a struggle. Now hit me."

*********

Parker, Sydney, and Broots came out with Jarod in handcuffs. Heading to the car, Willie stopped them.

"Where are you going with him?"

"To the Centre." She answered sarcastically.

"He is to come with me."

Turning to Broots, she said. "Put him in the car."

Broots and Jarod got in the car.

Willie put his hand on Parker's shoulder.

"Get your hands off of me!" Her eyes narrow as she glared at him.

"I have orders to bring him in with me."

"I don't care what orders you have. I caught him fair and square. I'm taking him in. Got it!"

She and Sydney headed to the car. Willie jumped in front of them.

"Miss Parker...."

"Willie, move it or lose it." She placed her hand on her gun.

"Fine." He moved out of her way.

As she got in the car, Sam walked up to her. "Parker."

"What is it, Sam?"

"Let me go with you." He whispered.

"What?"

"I know you are not going back. Let me come with you."

"Sam...."

"Parker, please. I don't have anything left for me here if you leave."

She looked at Jarod in the car and back up at Sam.

"Get in."

"Thanks." He smiled.

Jarod looked at her. "What are you doing?" He whispered.

"Jarod, it's okay."

"I don't trust him."

"Well, I do."

The car pulled away leaving the sweeper team behind.

She threw the keys to Sam. "Uncuff him."

"Jarod, I know you don't trust me..."

"Damn straight."

"Please hear me out."

He didn't say another word to Sam just looked over at his wife.

"Jarod, please trust me."

"I trust no one."

"I haven't done anything to you."

"Yeah, I want to keep it that way."

"Jarod, do you love Parker?"

"You know I do."

"Then, I would do anything to protect her."

Jarod looked up at Sam. He could tell he was telling the truth.

"Okay, but if you screw this up that's it."

"Thank you." They shook hands.

"Jarod, what's the plan?"

"Give me a few minutes and you will all find out."

Sydney turned to him, "We can't leave yet."

"Why?"

"I can't find my son. I want to tell him bye."

"Don't worry. He's safe."

**********

Willie reported to Mr. Parker's office, where he and Raines were waiting for their genius to return home.

"Willie, what's wrong?" Mr. Parker said as he came through the door.

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what?"

Raines looked at him, "You look like you have seen a ghost."

"It's worse than that."

"What is?"

"The car..." he said shaken up.

"What about the car?"

"It's gone."

"So, we can get another car. Where is my daughter?"

"She was in it."

"What do you mean she was in it?"

"I mean she is gone, along with Sydney, Broots, Sam, and Jarod."

"She'll be back, right?"

"No, it went up in pieces. Nobody survived."

Mr. Parker sat down for a minute. He couldn't believe what he just heard.

"You mean Jarod is gone." He said softly.

"Yes. What about your daughter? Don't you care that she is gone?"

"Yeah, that's what I meant....who did I say?" He knew actually who he had said.

"Jarod."

Raines pulled his tank over to Mr. Parker's desk. "You don't think this was a set up, do you?"

"I don't see how." Willie answered. "They drove off and in a few minutes they were gone. Just like that. Gone." He couldn't believe it.

"I want the report." Mr. Parker said as he stood up.

"I will get it to you as soon as it is finished." Willie replied and turned to to leave.

**********

As soon as they landed, Jarod drove them to a big white house off the coast of St Thomas.

"Where are we?" Parker asked.

"Our new home."

They got out and headed in the house. Sydney opened the door to see his son, Nicholas sitting on the couch watching TV. Angelo and Debbie were playing checkers.

"It's about time you got here. We were getting worried." Nicholas said.

"Nicholas." Sydney said excited.

"Daddy." Debbie went running to Broots.

"Oh, Debbie. You're okay." He hugged her tight.

Michelle came around the corner. Parker looked up at her and back at Jarod.

"Where is she?" Parker asked.

"Second door on the right." Michelle answered.

Parker ran down the hall and opened the door to see her daughter sleeping. Jarod followed her in quietly. Parker was standing over the bed watching her sleep.

"She hasn't forgot you." Jarod said as he pointed to the small picture beside the bed.

Parker picked up her and Catherine began to cry.

"It's okay...mommy is here." She whispered as she kissed the top of her head.

"You woke her up."

"I don't care. It's been a while since I have seen her." Parker held her tight. "Jarod, thank you."

"For what?"

"For keeping her safe, and freeing us from the Centre."

He wrapped his arms around his wife. "You're welcome."

"Jarod."

"Yeah."

"I want to learn how to be a good wife and mother to you both."

"You will...we both will learn one day at a time."

The End!
