San Francisco, Ca Oct. 3rd
Miss Parker and Sydney walked into St. Vincents Psychiatric Hospital. Sydney asked for the Dr. in charge of the John Doe brought in back in July. After waiting nearly 25 minutes, a man came up to them.
"Dr. Green, Miss Parker? I'm Dr. Wayne. So you think our John Doe is your brother?" he asked Miss Parker.
"Yes, he's been missing since Feb."
"Right this way" he said leading them down a hallway.
They came to a room with a large window. Miss Parker looked in and saw Ethan. He was strapped down to the bed by his wrists and ankles. He was saying over and over, "stop takling to me". His eyes were sunken in, yet red and swollen.
"I want to see him" Miss Parker said reaching for the door knob. She walked in the room. When she reached him, she noticed that the restraints holdind his wrists had dug into his skin. They were raw from repeated attempts of trying to free himself.
She reached out and touched the side of his face. Ethan jerked away.
NO, NO!!" he screamed. "Don't hurt me" he begged as he started to cry.
"Shhh, Ethan, it's your sister".
Ethan blinked his eyes, focusing on her. "Miss Parker??" he asked. She managed a smile.
"Yes" she said touching his face again.
Out in the hallway, Sydney asked about the circumstances surrounding what brought Ethan there. Dr. Wayne told him that he'd been see trying to withdraw money from an ATM machine, and when it was unsuccessful, he began striking the machine and talking to someone who wasn't there. A person in the bank called the police. When they arrived, Ethan had become violent; it took four police officers to bring him in.
Once in the hospital, he refused to speak. His violent outbursts had gotten so frequent that he had to be sedated and restrained to the bed. During his last one, he had broken a window with his fist cutting himself badly. He'd even grabbed a large sliver, using it as a weapon, trying to escape.
"I've been Ethan's Dr. for years, I'd like him released into my custody so I can take him back to Delaware where he can be with his sister".
"What is she DOING???" the Dr. asked.
Sydney turned around to see Miss Parker removing his restraints. Ethan sat up as she undid his ankles. The Dr. came into the room. Ethan almost fell off of the bed trying to get away from him. He stood up behind Miss Parker.
"You can't let him loose, he dangerous!!"
"He looks fine to me! Now go get the papers ready, I want my brother released."
The Dr. turned and left the room. Miss Parked turned around and faced Ethan. She put her arms around him, but he struggled free from her. Ethan put his hand up to his forehead and he started rocking back and forth.
"Make then stop" he begged.
"Ethan. ETHAN!!" she said as she pulled his face toward her.
"It's ok, I hear them too, just listen to them" she said as she sat down in the chair by the bed.
"They're ALWAYS TALKING!!" he said, sitting down on the floor by her feet and lying his head in her lap. Miss Parker reached down and stroked her hand across his face and back through his hair.
Sydney returned to the room telling Miss Parker that Ethan had been released into his custody.
Once in the car, Miss Parker sat in the backseat with Ethan, who had once again laid down in her lap, almost immediately going to sleep.
"What are you going to do with him"
"He'll stay with me."
"He wouldn't stay last time, what makes you think he'll atay this time?" Sydney asked.
"We don't know if he left of his own accord or not, Syd."
"How are you going to keep this from Lyle?"
"I don't know" she sighed.
They drove in silence to the San Francisco Burlingame airport. Miss Parker didn't want anyone at the Centre to know that Ethan was in town. She didn't trust anyone there, except Broots and Sydney. She woke Ethan and they walked into the airport. She had told Sydney to tell Lyle she'd be back in a few days, that she needed more time looking for Jarod, and that she needed Sydney at the Centre just in case Jarod would call there.
