Disclaimer: I don't own them. I don't even know where they are anymore. They only live in Fanfiction now. Sad but true. I think Steve and Craig still own them. Can we get them on DVD now!

Also the story doesn't follow the movie that much but there are some lines and ideas from it. So please don't get mad Steve and Craig. It just shows we love you for making us, the fans, two more movies.

I would like to thank kat for beta this story for me. You are the best.

Who Am I?
By: G. Barton

Jarod and Parker met his parents over at their house.

"Son, what is this about?" The Major said as he took a seat next to his wife.

"Dad, I'm not for sure. I don't know all the details." He joined his wife on the sofa.

"Let me start." Parker spoke up. "Margaret, I have recently learned something about you."

"What would that be?" She asked innocently.

"You didn't tell us you had a brother."

"What is so interesting about that?" Charles turned to his son.

"Do you know who he is?" Parker faced the Major.

He didn't answer.

"He was my father, or should I say my so-called father."

"Mr. Parker?" Charles turned to his wife.

"Let me explain." Margaret took Charles' hand into hers. "It was a long time ago. I met a lady, a very nice lady and we became friends."

"My mother." Parker spoke softly but everyone in the room could hear her.

"My brother was involved in some kind of project during his college years and I didn't know what and really didn't care at the time. But anyway, Catherine and I hung out everywhere together. Your father first met Catherine one day at my apartment. He fell in love. I think they both did. It was like love at first sight. Anyway, he talked me into doing this experiment with him. He said it was all legal."

"What kind of experiment?" Jarod got curious.

"At first, it was testing your intelligence against other people in the group. Then it got more into genetics."

"Genetics? How...like blood testing?" Jarod moved closer to his wife as if he was trying to jump from her lap to his mother's.

"Yes."

"Then why didn't you leave the group?" Charles asked.

"It wasn't that simple. Those people wouldn't let you leave after you got involved with them."

"Like the Centre." Parker answered.

"Yes." Margaret answered.

"What about my mother? How was she involved in this?"

"Well, like I said she fell in love with my brother. After they got married he got her involved in it also. She didn't have choice. After she learned what was *really* going on she tried to get out. Get him out of it but he wouldn't allow it. He was like two different people. Then William Raines and him became partners in the Centre. He was in too deep to leave. She helped me get away from him and the group. Then that is when I found Charles." She smiled at him as she squeezed his hand harder. "It wasn't long until we started a family of our own but there was one little problem."

"What?" Charles couldn't believe what he was about to hear.

"I had to give up my first born to my brother."

"What?" Charles and Jarod said at the same time.

"I didn't want to and that is when Catherine stepped in again and helped me out." Margaret turned to Charles. "Do you remember when we moved shortly after Jarod was born?"

"Yeah."

"Well, my brother was looking me."

"Is that why we moved a lot?"

"Yes. I thought we were safe for a while until that next morning when we discovered Jarod was missing. I knew who was responsible but didn't know how to find him."

"So you called my mother again?"

"No. She called us when she discovered that Jarod was our son at the Centre."

"That was the first time I met your mother. She was a very sweet lady." Charles rotated his head to where he looked at Parker but his body faced Margaret.

"And that is how you knew Harriet?" Jarod replied.

"Yes. She helped us out a lot." The Major agreed.

"Harriet?" Parker had a puzzled look on her face.

"I'll tell you about her later." Jarod took Parker's hand into his and kissed it lightly.

"So do you know who my father is?" Parker looked at Margaret again.

"No. I don't."

"But did you know it wasn't Daddy?"

"Yes and the only reason I knew that was because Catherine told me he couldn't have children."

"Did she know that for sure or was he telling her that?"

"I'm not sure but I think he was telling the truth. Remember we were in that project together. I believe that is how he found out."

Jarod faced his mother again. "Mom, you were going to give me up?" His brown eyes began to water.

"Jarod, I didn't want too. I didn't have a choice. While your father was busy searching for you I was busy having Kyle. I don't know how they knew where we were but they always seemed to find us. Then when they took Kyle from us, I didn't know how to go on but your father kept me going." She smiled at Charles. He was trying to understand all this but deep down you could tell he was upset that Margaret hadn't told him any of this before. "It wasn't long until Emily came along. Your father and I decided it was best to split up. And you know the rest from there."

They finished their talking and Jarod and Parker headed for home. After they got everyone in the bed, Parker took Jarod's hand into hers.

"Baby, I'm sorry about all this but I just want answers like you." She could see tears forming in his eyes.

"I know. I just can't believe that my mother would have given me up."

"If we found out more than we bargain for I hope you will forgive me."

"Melissa, don't make me choose between you and my mother."

"Jarod, I hope you never have too." She squeezed his hand harder. "I'm going to bed. Are you coming?" She stood from the couch and waited for an answer.

"In a minute."

She bent down and gave him a kiss before heading up the stairs.

Parker woke sometime in the early morning hours in a cold sweat. She sat up in the bed panting. Jarod moved beside her.

"Are you okay?" He touched her back causing her to jump.

She ran her hands through her hair and took one last deep breath. "I'm fine." She exhaled.

Jarod sat up and pulled her into his embrace. He kissed her clammy forehead. "Lay back down." Jarod got settled in the bed again when Parker laid down next to him. He rested his arm around her. It wasn't long until he fell back to sleep but Parker laid awake.

Charles woke to find Margaret missing from the bed. He got up and wandering around until he found her in kitchen staring out the glass door. He walked up to her, placing his right arm around her shoulder.

"I have done something bad." She muttered.

"I'm sure..."

"You will probably leave when you found out what I have done." She turned to face him.

"What is it?"

"I think you should sit."

He sat down at the kitchen table and watched her pace in front of him.

"Charles, I am the one that got Catherine killed. If it wasn't for me she would be still be alive."

"You don't know that."

"Yes, I do. She told me about Ethan and the scrolls."

"Scrolls? Ethan?" He stood in front of her, causing her to stop pacing and look at him.

"There was some scrolls that were kept at the Centre a long time ago. They came up missing and Catherine told me about them. We went out in search of them."

"Did you find them?"

"No. We came close. Then they found out what we had done. Catherine kept quite about me helping her. I know that is what got her killed."

"Who is Ethan?"

"He is yours and Catherine's son."

"My son? But I never..."

"I know." She placed her hands around his and lifted them to her lips. Charles could feel her wet lips as the tears poured . "Raines and Cain keep everything on us, from Nugenius . I'm telling you there was no escape..." She paused to look up into his eyes. She remembered the first time she saw his eyes. The same eyes Jarod inherited from him. "...then or now." She finished her sentence. She let go of his hands and turned back to the door. "I should have never be able to find my family again. My destiny was to grow old alone." She wept.

"Margaret, stop it. I won't have you talk like this. We have always gotten through everything they have thrown at us and we will do it again." He pulled her into his arms and held her tight.

Parker was almost to her office when she heard an all familiar noise. It sounded like the squeaking of an oxygen tank coming up behind her. She didn't want to turn around so she took a couple more steps when a hand touched her shoulder. She jumped and dropped everything she was carrying to the floor.

"I'm sorry." Broots said as he helped her pick up the papers.

"Broots, you scared the..."

"I'm sorry. I have that information you wanted." He interrupted her.

As she gather up everything she stood to see a wheel chair go by her. "In my office."

Broots followed.

She sat her things down on the desk. "What do you have?"

"It looks like Raines was in charge of Ethan. He made sure he was put in a home with an older couple that couldn't have children."

"Why doesn't that surprise me." Parker walked over to the window. The sun felt good beating down on her.

"The couple?"

"They died suddenly. Someone murdered them."

"And Ethan?"

"Can't find him."

She turned to look out the window. When a black four door sedan caught her attention.

"Melissa, are you ok?" Broots noticed her attention was focused on something else.

"I haven't been sleeping lately." She answered softly. "What do you mean you can't find him?"

"It is like he doesn't exist. He was last spotted in Blue Cove and that was several years ago."

"Keep digging." Parker saw a bald man step out of the car. He glanced up like he was staring into her eyes when she hit the floor.

"Melissa!" Broots ran over to her. He gently hit her cheeks with the back of his hands a couple of times before yelling for help.

Sam came running in. "What is it?" He saw her laying on the floor.

"She fainted." Broots replied nervously.

Sam rushed to her side.

"Raines." She mumbled before Parker's eyes opened slowly. "What happen?" She tried to get up.

"You fainted." Broots and Sam helped her to her feet.

"Are you feeling ok?" Sam directed her to the couch next to the wall.

"I'm fine." She snapped. She saw both men staring at her. "Sorry. I didn't mean..."

"It's ok. Just sit here a while. Can I get you some water?" Sam offered.

"No. I will be ok." She took at seat on the couch. "Broots finish what you were saying." She continued talking as if nothing happened.

"There was nothing else to say. Ethan, as we know it, doesn't exist."

Jarod rushed in. "Are you ok? I heard you fainted." He sat down next to her.

"I'm fine. How did you know?" She looked around to see that Sam had slipped out. 'Sam.' She thought to herself.

"It doesn't matter how I found out. I'm worried about you. You haven't been sleeping and when you do..."

Parker cleared her throat to let him know that they weren't alone.

Broots took that as hint. "I'll come back later." He headed to the door.

"Only if you have more information for me!" She shouted toward him.

He shook his head. "It's like the same ol' Parker." He said to himself.

"I want you to go home and get some rest." Jarod told her.

"I'm not going home."

"Yes, you are." He demanded.

She got up from the couch and walked back to the window. She stared down at the dark sadden again. "Jarod, find out who owns that car for me."

"What car?" He got up and joined her at the window.

"This one." She pointed down toward it.

"Why?" He glanced over at her.

"Cause I want to know." She let out a frustrating sigh.

"It's not who you think. He is dead." He wrapped his arms around her.

"I didn't say who..."

"Raines is dead, baby. Is this what you are so afraid of in your sleep?"

"No!" She raised her voice and pulling away from him. "I have work to do." She took a seat behind her desk.

"Fine. I will check on you later." He bent down to give her a kiss.
