How he got his start in the business: Ricky's parents, Enrique and Rosa, are circus performers who always gave their children a choice about performing. Ricky chose it. When he was just a little boy, he was the youngest member of the family trapeze act, the Flying Lunas. In the circus Ricky rehearsed every day with his family and toured the US & Canada. He excelled at double & triple somersaults on the trapeze and could execute a double-tuck somesault on a trampoline, landing on his father's shoulders. When in 1989 Disney introduced the new Mickey Mouse Club , Ricky knew he wanted to be part of it. He was one of 35,000 kids who auditioned during the yearlong talent search, and when he was tapped to join the cast, he said goodbye to the circus and joined the club.
