Ben was going to star in Maxwell's play. A play that Fran's mother and her canasta group decide to invest their 'pinske' winnings in.

It was a small cameo appearance, but I love it when Fran gets overexcited over a celebrity. Her line of, "Ben Vereen!! Do Roots! Do Roots!" was a true chuckler.
