Hal Linden played the part of Maury Sherry, a studio executive who was in charge of Maxwell and CC's movie deal.

There was a line in this episode that took me awhile to get. It's the part when CC leans over to Maury and pitches an idea about having a "funny cop show, but the twist is the cell where they keep the criminals is in the main set."

I realized later, (much later), that CC was describing "Barney Miller" an old 70's sitcom that starred Hal Linden as a funny cop in exactly the same setup as CC's 'idea'. Okay... so I'm a bit slow.
