The Living Dead: TV Characters Nowadays
Get to be Gone but not Forgotten.

Sela Ward had a difficult time playing the scene on "Once and Again" in which her character had a pre-wedding talk with her dead father (played by Paul Mazursky)."I am one of those actors who doesn't like to play into material like that. To be standing there sobbing is really not what happens. If a decent amount of time has passed and you are having an internal dialogue, it is much better to play those scenes objectively," Ward says.
Her solution was to take all the emotions of loss, love, confusion and grief and play them right "on the surface." Viewers could then watch her deal with the introspective moment in a way the actress hoped came across as relatable. __Fresno Bee (August 14, 2001)
