"Once and Again" Nominated for Humanitas Prize

Three programs airing on the ABC Television Network -- "Once and Again," "Oprah Winfrey Presents: Tuesdays With Morrie" and "Disney's Recess" -- have won nominations for the coveted Humanitas Prize. Now in its 26th year, the Prize is given to television and film writers for stories that "affirm the dignity of the human person, probe the meaning of human life, enlighten the use of human freedom, and reveal to each person the common humanity of every other person."

Richard Kramer was nominated in the dramatic television category for his script for the "Strangers and Brothers" episode of "Once and Again." In the story, Lily's disabled brother becomes an unexpected source of comfort and renewal in the midst of a trying time for the Manning family. "Once and Again" is executive produced and created by Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick. The series is from The Bedford Falls Company in association with Touchstone Television Productions, LLC.

In the television movie category, Tom Rickman received a nomination for his teleplay of "Oprah Winfrey Presents: Tuesdays With Morrie." The film, inspired by Mitch Albom's best-selling book, tells the real-life story of Albom, a successful sportswriter, who learns how to live life to the fullest and re-evaluate his priorities when he reconnects with Morrie Schwartz, his college professor and mentor. Oprah Winfrey and Kate Forte were executive producers of "Oprah Winfrey Presents: Tuesdays with Morrie" for HARPO Films.
