Weber winging to ABC's 'Again' as series regular

Steven Weber is in negotiations to join the cast of "Once and Again" as a series regular.

Weber is expected to reprise his role as the love interest of Judy Brooks, the character played by Marin Hinkle. Weber had a guest shot on the Touchstone Television series, which stars Sela Ward and Billy Campbell, during its first season.

"Once and Again," created and executive produced by Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, is heading into its third season in the fall. Representatives for Weber, ABC and Touchstone declined comment on the matter Monday.

Weber is set to star in the revival of the musical "Hair," which opens this weekend at the Reprise Theatre in Los Angeles. He was most recently seen opposite Alan Alda in the Showtime telepic "Clubland," which he also wrote and produced.

Weber spent the past TV season as star of the sitcom "The Weber Show," which had a rocky run on NBC. He's best known for his seven-year stint on NBC's "Wings."
