to TV's best family hour: ABC's Once and Again. When the series premiered last fall, some critics wondered whether one fortysomething love affair could fuel an hour-long program week after week. But Once and Again has grown into an extended family of remarkable characters. The recent two-parter about the death of Lily's father included the most memorable moments of TV drama this season. The terrific regular cast (headed by Sela Ward and Billy Campbell) was joined by three awardworthy guest stars: Paul Mazursky (as Lily's father), Bonnie Bartlett (as Lily's mom) and Patrick Dempsey (as Lily's schizophrenic brother).
