At the outset of this telling episode about romantic liaisons, Lily's sister Judy (Marin Hinkle) reflects that "I've judged people who couldn't be alone. [But] I'm not sure [being] alone is such a great thing. The older you get, the harder it is to bring people into your life. They feel like they don't fit."
Ironically, Judy soon finds herself drawn very closely to two people: an articulate charmer (Michael B. Silver) who attracts her intellectually; and the intriguing handyman (Mark Valley), previously introduced, who arouses her physically. A subplot concerns tense times in the relationship between teenagers Eli and Carla.
