Sela Surprised

"Everybody Loves Raymond"'s PATRICIA HEATON pulled off a surprise win for lead comedy actress, as did SELA WARD of ABC's "Once and Again" for lead drama actress. Ward won in the same category in 1994 for her work on the NBC drama series "Sisters," and was overwhelmed when she heard her name called a second time. "I was shocked! I thought I didn't have a chance in hell, but I am glad I am standing up here."__etonline.com (September 11, 2000)

"Insider" News

"Sela Ward brought home the gold as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for ABC's Once and Again. It was the only award the show was up for — a fact that was not lost on the former Sisters star. "I'm happy to sort of carry the banner for the whole show," she told reporters, adding that viewers should anticipate rocky times for Lily and Rick (Billy Campbell) this season. "The honeymoon period is over. They'll be finding things out about each other you don't particularly like. [But] I think ultimately they'll end up together. I think it'd be interesting if they did. Most people think the story would be over, but I think there's so much you could explore in a fresh way."__TVGuide.com (September 11, 2000)
