Background:
Annabelle Star was born in small town in Texan where Marion O'Rilley lived
with her husband Zachary. Marion was a school teacher and Zachary was a
Texas Rangers, who had worked with Teaspoon Hunter, a close friend of the O'
Rilleys.
When Zachary left his wife and his 5 years old daughter, Teaspoon became the
father figure in Star's life. Marion was grateful for Teaspoon's support but
she felt like she needed to leave Texas and have a new beginning; she
accepted a job as teacher in Saint Joseph and moved away, Teaspoon continued
in touch with them during the next years.
Marion worked hard to raise Star, they had a simple but nice life. She
taught Star how to shoot, ride and how to take care of herself; Star was a
happy child. Marion's health started to decline though and she wrote
Teaspoon asking him to stay with Star but she passed away before Teaspoon's
arrival. When he finally reached Saint Joseph, Teaspoon found out the 10
years old girl had left along with John Hardin, a missionary man and his
wife to South Dakota.
The Hardin's were attacked during the trip and John and his wife were
murdered by thieves, Star tried to escape and she was helped by a group of
Lakota Warriors before the thieves could catch her. She was taken to the
Lakota camp, where she met Sitting Bull, who said the Great Spirit had
talked to him in his dream about her arrival and she was welcome to stay
with his people in the camp. She accepted and stayed with the Lakota for the
next 4 years, Sitting Bull adopted Star as his daughter.
She left the camp, a few months before her 15th birthday; Sitting Bull knew
it was her time to go and made no objection. Star went back to Saint Joseph,
from where she started to track down Teaspoon Hunter; she found out he was
working in Sweetwater and headed off to the small town to
finally meet him again.
Star has been living in the station for almost a year and she grew very
close to the boys, specially Jimmy, Noah and Jesse. She has a deep
connection with Jimmy and they take care of each other, Teaspoon was not
very fond of the closeness between Star and Jimmy but he accepted they are
friends, though Emma and some of the other boys believe there is more than
friendship between the cocky gunfighter and Teaspoon's protegee.
Star is strong minded, determined and her temper matches Jimmy's; she is not
stupid but she can be naive about things sometimes. She loves the life at
the station and wants to be a rider like the boys but she knows its against
the Company rules.
She was hired to help Emma in the station but every now and then, Teaspoon
allows her to do a ride, he tries always to send one of the boys with her
though; Jimmy says she shouldn't be doing runs because a guy work but the
truth is that he thinks its too dangerous and he fears he might lose her.
