Born in NY to Sophia De Luca, an Italian immigrant, who waited tables and
Peter O'Connor, a married business man, Nell had a poor childhood. When
Sophia died of Tuberculoses, Nell, who was 10 years old at the time, left to
West, dreaming with a new and better life.
West was worse than NY, Nell had to work in brothels, as maid to survive. At
age of 15, while living in Tombstone, Nell started to attract the men's
interest and the brothel owner saw the situation as an opportunity. Nell was
told that she either did the same kind of work the other girls did or she
had to leave; Nell chose to leave.
She lived on the street and starved for a few months; one night, outside the
saloon she was beaten up, raped and left to die. That night, Nell swore she
would never be hungry again, she would never let another man touched her
unless he paid and paid a high price.
Nell moved to the next town and asked for a job in the brothel. Maggie
Smith, the old lady, who owned the brothel, helped Nell and after she was
fully recovered Nell started to work; with her exotic beauty and complex
personality, Nell became she most desired and expensive girl in Maggie's
Brothel.
She is seen as cold, mean and heartless; Nell seems to care for nothing but
money. Maggie cares a lot for her though and Nell now helps Maggie to run
the house.
