The Young Riders

In times when the West was isolated from the rest of the world, a few brave souls fought all odds to ensure the delivery of the mail. They were known as Pony Express Riders. For $125 a month, they braved not only rough terrians, weather conditions, Indian attacks, but the constant scrutiny of the world as the Telegraph threatened to make their jobs extinct.

From this history-making enterprise, we saw the emergance of legends in their own right. James Butler Hickok, a misguided young man burdened with a reputation that would carry him well beyond his years. William F. Cody, a carefree soul with dreams of grandure and fame. Buck Cross, a half breed Kiowa caught between two worlds, both equally cruel and unforgiving. Ike McSwain, a good natured spirit left without hair and the ability to speak from Scarlett Fever. Lou McCloud, a spry young rider with a great secret. The Kid, a young man forced to grow up well before his time.

Together, they forged new frontiers in the Nebraska territory....in times when tensions were tight with speculation of the coming war. Together, these orphans built a family of their own. Together, they are the Young Riders.
