Heaven (Shining Eagle ) is Angel's twin.

She is right-handed, where her sister is left-handed, and the streak in her hair is on the opposite side of Angel's.

She has not seen her sister since she disappeared with her ex-husband Vin Tanner many moons ago.

After Angel and Vin left, Heaven was not as well accepted with her tribe. She was taken by white men (soldiers), and was violated. Nine months later, she had a son, named Douglas.

She also gave him an Indian Lakota name, Red Bear, but she rarely used it. She was living in Tuscosa, working at the saloon as a waitress. She had been gone from the tribe now for quite a while, and truth be told she really, really missed the Lakota way of life.

She had sent her son to live with her tribe and be raised in the ways of the Indian and the land.

 

She had searched for her sister in vain, she could not even find a trace of her, save the shadow of her name- Angel of Death. Tuscosa was a rundown little town with many outlaws.

Since leaving the Lakota and enduring the hardships of the Western way of life, Heaven's traits that mirror Angel's have come to surface- she is very distrusting of men and she has a horrible temper, and a hair trigger. Her son would be better off without knowing her and the bitterness she held in her heart for men.

She is always on the look out for the one soldier who survived the night she was taken by the men, and she will find him someday, and she will kill him.

 

So what had she been searching for? She had left the tribe, considering herself less than a woman because she had been used by the white soldiers.

She had been looking to make a way of life for herself, but she could find nothing short of a harlot or a girl waiting tables.

And she was definately no seamstress. How could the world hold no more for her than to warm a different man's bed every night?
