Dawn is a phenomenal comic book (although that never seems to sum it up right) and art collection, crafted by Joseph Michael Linsner. He writes, and does the art for his books, as well as some others. The book is published bu Sirius entertainment. The most current incarnation is Dawn: Return of the Goddess.

I have simply taken my favorite quotes, and my favorite pictures and strung them together for you here. I tried to credit everything accordingly, but if I am mistaken feel free to correct me. E-mail me at tooch508@aol.com. If the work is uncredited it is because I believe it to be a quote of Mr. Linsner's or one of his original creations.

"A rose by any other name would still prick you with its thorns."

"No matter if it is a broken heart, or a broken sword, things only have the power you give them."

"When you become Death, you become immortal."

"I beware the wounds of fortune with a tearful eye, for she has perversely taken back all the bounty she ever gave me. Once I was sitting high on fortune's wheel, in a prosperous condition, crowned with flowers. Just as I flourished then, happy and blest, now I am fallen from the heights and robbed of my glory. The wheel of fortune turns, and I am feet down, while someone else is taken on high...Accursed Man."

-"Carmen Burana", by Carl Orff, as quoted by Lucifer

"What a piece of work is man? How noble in reason. How infinite in faculties. In form and moving how express and admirable. In action how like an angel. In apprehension, how like a god. The beauty of the world. The pentagon of aninmals, and yet to me what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me, nor woman, though by smiling, you seem to say so."

-Shakespeare's "Macbeth" according to and quoted by Lucifer
-Shakespeare's "Hamlet" semi-quoted and according to Darien

"Only you can do that. Only you can make me cry."

"I know your pain, your sorrow. I know your dreams and nightmares. I know you. I am the goddess you pray to."

"I traded a life of human riches for a life of cosmic resplendence."

"I will love you like none other for I have died a thousand tiny deaths and everytime, I thought of you."

"I will show you all that you are, and all that you can be. I will take you beyond heaven and hell. For a price. All things for a price."

"Before you die you will rape queens and make love to whores. By your hand gods will live, and gods will die. Come, let us adore you."

"What a throphy is a cup full of tears."

"I'll tell you about heartache and the loss of God. I'll tell you about the hopeless night the meager food for souls forgot. Tell you about the maiden with the wrought iron soul. I'll tell you this, no eternal reward can forgive us now for wasting the dawn."

-James Douglas Morrison as quoted on Dawn and Beyond card #59

"The rose wherein the world divine makes itself flesh."

-Dante as quoted on Dawn and Beyond card #41

"This thing upon me, like a flower and a feast. This thing upon me, crawling, like a snake. Its not death, but dying will solve its power. And as my hands drop a last desperate pen, in some cheap room, they will find me there, and never knowing my name, my meaning, nor the measure of my escape."

-Charles Bukowski as quoted on Dawn and Beyond card #27

"Who called the dead to dance? Was it the young woman learning to play the ghost song on her baby grand? Was it the wilderness children? Was it the ghost god himself, stuttering, cheering, chattering blindly?"

-James Douglas Morrison as quoted on Dawn and Beyond card #11

"The oppressed love the oppressors and cannot wait to follow their example."

"Turn on your TV. Do or die. Blaze of glory. The only truth in our web of lies. Can't you see how blind we are?"

-The Realist as quoted on Dawn and Beyond card #18

"I bring my tears to your heart, and my tears bring you life."

-John Finnegan as quoted on Dawn and Beyond card #16
