"Second Chance" (1964)

An amusement park ride becomes an unexpected trip into space through the machinations of an otherplanetary Empyrian. The unwilling passengers have been chosen by the alien because they have little to leave behind. These people are needed, the Empyrian explains, because there is a growing danger that will cause the destruction of many planets. Two of the passengers decide to volunteer and request that the others be taken back to Earth.

Simon Oakland (Darren McGavin's boss in Kolchak the Night Stalker tv-series) agreed to star in this episode provided that he "got to be the monster." He was originally offered the Don Gordon role.
