At the hospital.
Gregory was back in Oliviaīs room after the bloodtest for the paternitytest. Olivia suddenly woke up as he took her hand in his. She was very drowsy from being in a coma the last past days. She smiled at him when her eyes could make a clear picture of what they saw.
Olivia: Hi...
Gregory: Hi. He managed to smile back at her. Did you sleep good?
Olivia just realized she was in the hospital and everything came back to her.
Olivia: Trey! Where is he?
Gregory: He is in another room, sleeping. I just came from there. He is gonna be alright.
Olivia: Is he safe?
Gregory: He will be soon.
Olivia: Will be? Whatīs wrong with him?
Gregory: I canīt say for sure since Iīm not a doctor but he needs blood and he will get it. Then he will be fine.
Olivia: Promise me that, Gregory.
Gregory: I promise, he said as he thought of the letter. What else could it have meant? He didnīt want to tell Olivia yet about it since it was not for sure. But he had to tell her about Caitlinīs death. He had told her 3 times before that a child of theirs had died, when she miscarried the first time, when they thought Caitlin had died in the car accident and when they thought Trey had been stillborn when it acctually was Annie that had stolen him and given him to Caitlin and Cole to raise as their own. It never got easier to tell Olivia. It was the hardest thing in the world to do. He decided to tell her after he had spoken to her doctor if it wasnīt going to threaten her condition if he told her.
Olivia: Have you spoken to Caitlin about Trey?
Gregory: No...
Olivia: She must be worried to death about him. I should call her. Where is a phone?
Gregory: No, Olivia. We should wait...
Olivia: Wait? Why?
Gregory: Itīs late and...
Olivia: Gregory, whatīs wrong?
Gregory: What do you mean? He tried his best to awoid this.
Olivia: I can see in your eyes that something is wrong. Is it Caitlin? Has something happened to her? Gregory? Answer me.
Gregory: Yes itīs Caitlin, he was forced to say. Sheīs gone.
Olivia: Donīt tell me she... Olivia looked him in his eyes that said it all. Caitlin was dead. Olivia started crying hysterically.
Gregory couldnīt hold back his tears. He was normally good at it but not when he saw Olivia like this. They held each other for comfort as Olivia wanted to know how it happened. Gregory was forced to tell her everything.
At Annieīs beach house
Taylor went inside and slammed the door behind her in anger and hurt. She looked into Ridgeīs eyes and waited for an explanation.
Ridge: Taylor... Iīm sorry...
Taylor: Sorry?! You slept with this... How could you? What the hell were you thinking about?, she yelled. Well, I know the answer to that. The thing you always think with. I thought you had changed. But I guess I was wrong. And you Morgan! You were supposed to be my friend. I should have listened to Stephanie. Taylor turned around and almost ran to the door.
Ridge: Taylor, wait!
Taylor: Donīt talk to me right now. And donīt you dare to come home tonight.
Ridge: Please let me explain, Doc...
Taylor: Donīt call me that, donīt you ever call me that again!
Ridge: Ok Ok.
Taylor: Start explaining!
Ridge: You remember when Morgan asked me to father her baby.
Taylor: So you did it??? Inspite of what I thought? Youīre really something you know that, Ridge Forrester.
Ridge: No I thought you approved. You...
Taylor: APPROVED?! Why the hell would I do that?
Ridge: No you wouldnīt, I know that. It was Morgan who...
Taylor: Morgan?! Donīt blame her for this unless she held a gun to your head.
Annie: Well, I am...
Taylor: Am I talking to you?
Annie: No, but...
Taylor: So keep your damn mouth shut then!
Ridge: I know how this must look to you but you donīt know everything.
Taylor: What I know is enough! You slept with her in order to get her pregnant, inspite your wifeīs wishes. That says quite a lot to me! What is it that I donīt know? How you still had feelings for her or how sorry you felt for her?! Well, I should now. I slept with James for that reason!
Ridge: You slept with James?! When?
Taylor: A long time ago. When we didnīt have children and you were still hung up on Brooke.
At that moment Ben walked in with Benjy.
Ben: Oh, Iīm sorry. Annie, If you want I can come back later.
Taylor: Annie?! Your name is Annie? What the hell is going on here?
Ridge: Iīll explain everything, if you just let me.
Taylor: Fine, letīs go outside.
They went outside and left the others. Ben looked at Annie.
Ben: Is Ridge married?
Annie: Yes, that was his wife...
Ben: Oh, Annie... You chased after a married man again.
Outside Annieīs beach house
Ridge explained the whole story to Taylor as she rubbed her face and head with her fingers as she sat in the sand. He once again told her how bad he felt for keeping this from her and how sorry he was for hurting her like this.
Taylor: How stupid could you get?! Donīt you know me by now? I would never in a million years agree to something like this! And then you donīt have the nerve to tell me this! Youīre spineless, you know! And Iīm sure you intended to keep this from me forever, right. And as usual let your mother cover it up. No wonder she has had three strokes already!
Ridge: I know that I should have told you. But I was too scared to lose you. I love you so much. He got tears in his eyes as he pleaded his undying love to her.
Taylor: Ridge, please. I canīt listen to this right now.
Ridge: I know that you need to be angry with me right now and you should be. I failed you. Iīll leave you alone to think if you want me to.
Taylor: Please do that. Go.
Ridge: Just remember how much I love you and our family. Iīll be staying at mumīs and dadīs. You know where to find me whenever you need to talk to me.
Ridge stood up and looked at her as she tried to wipe her tears away, but they kept coming. He put his hand on her shoulder for comfort and then left. She stayed behind and stared out into the water. It was shining in the moonlight. She couldnīt help but think about her times with Ridge since they used to live there. Before Morgan. Or Annie or what ever name she went by.
At the Forrester mansion.
A window smashed and woke up Stephanie. She didnīt know what it was since she was too drowsy with sleep. She went downstairs where it sounded to have come from. She found Ridge there, drunk. She assumed he was the one who made that sound.
Stephanie: Ridge? What are you doing here in the middle of the night?
Ridge: Mother, she knows... Taylor knows everything!
Stephanie: What do you mean?
Ridge: That I slept with Morgan to get her pregnant. She knows!
Stephanie: You slept with Morgan?! Ridge, how could you?
Ridge: Oh, right. You didnīt know. Well you know now. I slept with Morgan!
Stephanie: Ridge, what is wrong with you?! Stephanie shook her head as she looked at her oldest son.
Ridge took another sip of the wiskey bottle he held in his hand. As he was about to finnish the bottle he fell to the floor. He was out. Stephanie sighed and draged his up on the sofa. She left him there and went back upstairs where Eric had awaken. He asked what was wrong and Stephanie told him what she just found out from Ridge. Eric couldnīt eigher understand how Ridge could do such a thing. They decided to go back to sleep and let things be till the morning.
The next morning at the hospital
It was 8 A.M. and Olivia just woke up. She found Gregory being in the same position as he was in when she fell asleep - sitting on a stool by her bedside with her hand in his. He was sleeping. She gently stroke her other hand on his hair. She let him sleep. He had probably not had a good sleep in days. He looked so cute lying there, using her hip as a pillow. It reminded her of when she had just given birth to Caitlin. It had taken 27 hours and Gregory had fallen asleep just like now, completely exhausted. She couldnīt help but smile even though she was mourning Caitlin. 10 minutes later a doctor came in the room. Gregory awoke with a startle. Imbarresed as the two women giggled at him.
Gregory: Dr, is Olivia going to be all right now?
Dr. Jekyll-Bidgood: It looks that way. I understand that your son needs blood, right?
Gregory: Thatīs right.
Dr. Jekyll-Bidgood: I hope we have a father here. Unfortunally, you wonīt be able to leave blood in your condition. You need all the strenght you can get to quickly recover.
Olivia got a little hysterical since she knew that Cole was dead.
Olivia: The father... Are you sure that he is the only one that can save my son? I mean, there must be some other way!
Gregory: Olivia, calm down, please!
Dr. Jekyll-Bidgood: Iīm not sure since Iīm not his doctor, but Iīm sure there must be something else they can do. If you want I can page him for you. Dr. Sullivan, was it?
Gregory: Yes.
The doctor left and Olivia was getting really worried. Gregory decided that he must tell her about the letter. Olivia had to be calm. Sure, it could turn out that he wasnīt the father and give her false hopes but it was better than this.
Gregory: Olivia, even if Treyīs biological father is the only one who can give him blood, it doesnīt neceessarily mean that Trey wonīt make it.
Olivia: What do you mean? Trey needs blood to survive.
Gregory: I wasnīt going to tell you about this yet, until I knew for sure but this doesnīt give me a choise. I got a letter two days ago. It said: "Save Trey, only you can".
Olivia: And?
Gregory: I thought it had something to do with the question on who is Treyīs father so I took a paternitytest. Weīll get the answer soon.
Olivia: You mean you could be Treyīs father? Is this for real? Olivia got sparks in her eyes of hope.
Gregory: I donīt know. But what else could it have meant?
Olivia: You said you got a letter. From who?
Gregory: I donīt know. No one saw who left it.
Olivia: Strange...
Gregory: I have a feeling A.J. have something to do with this. That damn Deschanel...
Olivia: Are you sure it was A.J? It could just as well be that viper Annie.
Gregory: I guess youīre right. Who ever it was, just might have saved Trey.
Thereīs a knock on the door and Treyīs doctor, Dr. Sullivan enters.
Dr. Sullivan: I have good news. Actually two good news. First of all, Trey is doing better and second of all, he is going to survive cause you are Treyīs biological father. I just got back the test result.
Gregory and Olivia was thrilled, they hugged. THEIR son was gonna survive!
Gregory: Are you sure, absolutely sure, that no one mixed with the test this time?
Dr. Sullivan: 100%. You are most definitely Treyīs father.
Sean entered the room and found his parents hugging of mixed joy and something he couldnīt tell what it was.
Sean: Mom? Dad? What is it?
Olivia: Darling!
She hugged Sean.
Olivia: Trey is gonna be fine!
Sean: I donīt understand, he needed Coleīs blood and Cole...
Olivia: He didnīt need Coles blood, Gregory will give him that.
Sean: So youīre blood matched Treys?
Gregory: Not only was I a match, we just found out that Iīm Treyīs biological father.
Sean: Wait a minute... How did this happen?
Olivia: Gregory got a letter that said that he was the only one who could save Trey so he did a paternitytest and it showed that he was Treyīs father.
Sean: But the other said that Cole was the father...
Gregory: Yes, someone must have mixed with it. For the third time. But this is real. No one could have gotten inside the lab or bribed a doctor cause I hired a someone to guard it. Something we should have done at least on the second test we did.
Sean: Dad, this is great! Congratulations! To both of you.
Sean hugged Gregory. Olivia watched amazed. She hadnīt seen them been civil to each other in a long time. It was touching. She joined them in a grouphug. She let herself be happy although she missed Caitlin so much. They all did.
Sean: So you and Trey are gonna be fine. This is just what we need now! Some happy news. I just wish that Caitlin was here.
Olivia: I think she is. In spitit.
The Forrester mansion
Ridge woke up, with a horrible hangover. It was 9 A.M. He went to the kitchen for an aspirin. His parents just came downstairs. They had slept longer than usual. But it had been necessary since the past days hadnīt exactly been a walk in the park. There was a knock on the door.
Eric: Itīs probably the priest. Eric went to invite him in. Without noticing he stepped into a small pile of glass. He screamed out of pain and Stephanie ran to his side. Ridge followed but it took a while longer since he felt so sick.
Stephanie: Ridge, what the hell did you do last night? She refered to the broken window.
Ridge: I donīt remeber it all but I surely didnīt broke the window.
Stephanie: Then who did? Never mind. Go open the door instead. Iīll take care of this.
Stephanie looked under Ericīs feet. One was starting to bleed.
Stephanie: Does it hurt much?
Eric: Yes, very much.
Stephanie: We must get you to the hospital. Well, you canīt walk and I canīt carry you, and Ridge isnīt exactly capable of anything right now. Iīd better call for an ambulance.
She went to call for one and returned.
Eric: I wonder who did this. Itīs quite obvious that it wasnīt an accident. Do you think it might have something to do with who ever it is who is making those calls?
Stephanie: Probably. But letīs not worry about that now. You have to get the glass out before it get infected. I have to tell you, it doesnīt look very good.
Ridge returned with the priest right behind him.
The priest: What happened here?
Eric: I walked on glass.
The priest: Why?
Eric: Because I felt like doing something insane.
The priset smiled.
Eric: I didnīt see that the window was broken...
The priest: I can see that...
Stephanie: I know you came here to talk about Rickīs funeral but as you can see this isnīt the greatest time.
The priest: I can come back tomorrow if you want.
Eric: We appriciate that, thank you father.
The priest: Donīt mention it. Take care of you. Youīre in good hands. Bye.
The priest left. A while after that, the ambulance arrived and picked up Eric and Stephanie came with him. Ridge went up to his old room and went to sleep not noticing that someone entered the house.
At Spectra fashions
Sally and Clarke was in his office. He was showing her some of his latest scetches for the fall line. Sally was feeling dizzy. She felt like throwing up. She had to ran to the toilet. Clarke laughed at her. It reminded him of when she was pregnant with C.J. and was suffering from morning sickness. She used to run for the toilet every 5 minutes some mornings. 10 minutes past and he got a little worried. He decided to go and look for her. It didnīt take long. She was lying on the floor, unconscious. He gently shook her.
Clarke: Sal? Can you hear me?
Clarke called 911.
Amber & C.Jīs place
Amber and C.J. was getting little Eric dressed. The phone rang and C.J. answered. It was his father. He told him about Sally. C.J. quickly told Amber what had happen and they left with the kid to the hospital.
At the hospital
A doctor examined Sally. It didnīt take very long. He turned to Clarke, Darla, CJ, Amber and little Eric who were standing in the back of the room.
The doctor: She has got a concussion. The MRI we took didnīt show any signs of damage. She should wake up any moment. We will keep her here a couple of days for observation.
Clarke: So she will be fine?
The doctor: Yes, she will. Now you have to excuse me, there hasnīt been a quiet moment since the quake.
The doctor quickly walked out.
Amber: Iīm going to the cafeteria. Anyone want something?
She took their orders and went down to the cafeteria.
In another part of the hospital
Gregory, Olivia and Sean were talking memories of Caitlin. It didnīt seem real to any of them that she was dead. Olivia was coming back to the fact that Caitlin had been very upset with her the last time they saw each other. She was very upset about that. She didnīt leave Caitlin with loving words. She thought Caitlin died not knowing how much she loved her. Her tears keept running down her face.
Olivia: Sean, did you talk to Caitlin? Do you know why she was so upset?
Sean looked far away for a moment as he thought back on the day when he rescued Caitlin from getting raped. He was at Emilyīs and Betteīs. At first he thought no one was there but then he heard a scream coming from upstairs. He ran up. They came from his mumīs former room. The door was locked so he kicked it down. He found AJ ontop of Caitlin forcing her down. Sean quickly hit AJ unconscious with a wase and he and Caitlin ran away from the house. Caitlin was very upset and she was shaking out of fear. Sean had tried to calm her down. Caitlin finally told him what had happened. AJ had called Caitlin and asked her to meet him at the house to talk about Francescas murder. When Caitlin arrived AJ said he had proof that her father was innocent. He wanted her to see it. He said it was upstairs and asked her to come with him. Caitlin had thought he was acting strange but came with him since she loved Gregory and wanted him out of prison. And now she might be able to help him. Upstairs AJ started talking memories of her mother with her. She got annoyed and asked him to show her the evidence. Then he got aggressive. She got scared and tried to walk away but he had grabbed her from behind and throwned her on the bed. He locked the door and started forcing himself on her. He called her Olivia twice. She hysterically begged him to let her go. But he just laughed at her. He told her that he would never let her go again. He had done that twice and both times she had gone to Gregory, the person he hates more than anything. He wasnīt about to let that happen again. He started kissing her. She screamed and got one arm free. She grabbed his face and tried to avoid his kisses and to get free. He took her hand and pushed it back onto the bed, not before she managed to scratch him on the cheek. He hit her across the face. He then threathened her if she ever did that again, he was gonna make sure she ended up just like Francesca. She began to realize that he was the one how killed her. Then Sean rushed in and saved her. Caitlin made Sean swear to her that he would never tell another soul what just had happened. She couldnīt help but blame Olivia. She knew deep inside that her mother wasnīt to blame. But her psyche was forced to blame someone. She didnīt hate her mother, she loved her, but every now and then she lashed out at her for nothing. She sometimes did that to Cole too. AJīs son.
Olivia: Sean? Do you know why Caitlin was so upset with me?
Sean: I think I do. And it had nothing to do with you, I promise.
Gregory: Then why was she upset?
Sean had to come up with a lie. He wasnīt about to break his last promise to his beloved sister. And no good would come out of it if he did tell his parents the truth.
Sean: She and Cole had a little fight. It wasnīt really a big thing and they did work it out later at the deep. I guess she just was frusterated and took it out on you. She regretted it.
Sean sighed out of relif when he saw that his parents believed him.
Sean: Well, Iīm going down to the cafeteria. Want something?
And in yet another part of the hospital
Eric had just had all the glass taken out of his feet and now sat in a wheelchair with bandages around both feet. He was told by a doctor that it was gonna take a week for the wounds to heel and that he shouldnīt stand on his feet for at least 3 days. Stephanie wheeled him out and they decided to go and visit Olivia and Gregory. They were happy to see Olivia awake. They told them how sorry they were about Caitlin and Gregory and Olivia told them how sorry they were about Rick. Eric had to explain why he was in a wheelchair. Gregory told them about Trey and that he is his father. They chatted for a while. Then the question about where Gregory and Olivia was going to stay came up. Olivia looked at Gregory and he filled her in on the part where he and Eric went back to Sunset Beach and how it looked there.
Olivia: I guess we donīt have a place to stay...
Stephanie: Yes you do. You are staying with us.
Olivia: Are you sure? Sure itīs no problem?
Eric: Not at all. There are a few rooms empty. You can have Thorneīs old room and Sean can have Kristenīs or one of the guestrooms.
Gregory: Well, then thatīs set.
At the hopital cafeteria
Amber was just about to leave with the sandwiches she had bought when she saw someone she thought she recognized. He has standing with his back towards her so she couldnīt tell who he was. She looked at him and left figuring she was mistaken.
Sean turned around and saw a young woman in profile about to leave the cafeteria. She was gone a few seconds later.
Sean: No, it couldnīt have been...
He didnīt think about it any more. She was gone and he assumed it was only someone who looked like his ex-girlfriend. He didnīt see her very clearly. He payed and went upstairs to his parents again.
At the Forrester mansion
Ridge had dozed off upstairs in his old room. Sheila and Mike quickly sneaked inside. Mike was carrying a bag. He opened it. It was filled with tiny microphones. They planted them all over the house. Sheila quietly went upstairs, she sneaked past the maidīs room. Connie was there. But she never noticed Sheila who managed to plant a few microphones around before she sneaked back downstairs to Mike. Without making a sound, they left the mansion.
