TV Hits Interview

*HEY MATT, WHERE ARE YOU AT THE MOMENT?

"I'm at work in my dressing room on Friends. Today's all rehearsal, yeah. We shoot tomorrow night."

*ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT LOST IN SPACE?

"Yeah. You have to see it!"

*WERE YOU AT FAN OF THE TV SHOW?

"Yeah. When I was a kid it was in re-runs at the local station. You know, it was on every afternoon. I used to watch it everyday."

*DID YOU HAVE TO DO ANY STUNTS IN THE MOVIE?

"Yeah, I did quite a few stunts. With the exception of some of the real dangerous ones, I did most of them myself."

*YOU FILMED LOST IN SPACE IN LONDON. HAD YOU EVER BEEN THERE BEFORE?

"I had been there once before on a holiday with David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry. The three of us went over there."

*WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT UNDERWEAR?

"I don't like silk underwear. They don't do the job, you know?"

*WHO'S YOUR FAVOURITE SPICE GIRL?

"Ahh, maybe Posh Spice.

*SHE'S CUT OFF HER HAIR?

"Has she? Oh, then not her!" (laughs)

*IS IT DIFFICULT MIXING WORKING ON TV AND FILM AT THE SAME TIME IN YOUR CAREER?

"No, I mean I think it's a great opportunity. I'm very thankful. Somebody up there must like me, I think, you know to give me these great opportunities. I just hope I don't let anyone down."

*YOU'VE MET HANSON, WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THEM?

"I thought they were rude little bastards."

*YOU JUST KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO MAKE A FRIENDS MOVIE ONE DAY, WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY JOEY?

"I dunno. Al Pacino!" (laughs)

*WHAT DID IT FEEL LIKE ON THE FRIENDS SET WHEN ALL THE CAST STARTED BEING OFFERED MOVIES?

"It was great. We're all supportive of one another so it was nice."

*WHEN YOU STARTED ON FRIENDS DID IT FEEL LIKE SOMETHING SPECIAL OR DID IT JUST FEEL LIKE OTHER PILOTS YOU'D DONE?

"In rehearsal it was great but on show night when we actually filmed the show there was this magical energy in the air that everyone was aware of and everyone knew that this was a good thing."

*HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT FAME?

"I'm not sure how to react to this fame thing. I saw my house on Hard Copy - they photographed it from a helicopter. Thank God I wasn't outside swimming nude. I know TV is a very intimate medium, but I really didn't know quite how intimate."
