Something about Chris~Part2

The bright moon shown in though Chris's bedroom window as he lifted the glass and pushed the blue curtains aside. He was tired of hearing his parents fight and tired of having to turn to drugs to fix his problems. He hated leaving his sister Katie with them but he had no choice he had to get out. He threw his duffel bag out the window first then he jumped down. He fell on a trampoline that broke his long fall and made him fly up and then off to the wet ground. It had lightly started raining; Chris looked up at the sky watching cold raindrops fall on his face and body. He grabbed his bag and took off running. He ran to his car and jumped in pulling the key out of his pocket and driving away from the nightmare. "Miranda are you ready?" called a woman's voice from the bottom of the long staircase. "Coming mother" called a young girl's voice from the top of the stairs. Miranda knew what she was in for and was kind of looking forward to it. She wanted to make some new friends that were more like her, everyone at school liked her and all but she just could not relate to them at all. She grabbed her many suitcases and hulled them down the stairs. She lived in a huge, house. You can think of her more as a Juliet than a Shelby. "Miranda Elizabeth Jackson, let's get a move on" called the women's voice again, now from the front door. "Mom, hold up, I'm coming" yelled Miranda walking to the door. Her Mother and the driver took her bags and they headed to the white car that was parked at the front of the house. "Mom, is dad going to get off work and come to Horizon's with me?" "Miranda you know the answer to that you asked this morning, no he is to busy to come with us and your brothers and sisters are at school and could not get off to bid you good-bye" replied her Mother as she got in the passengers seat of the car. Miranda had 3 brothers and 2 sisters were away at college or had started a family of their own, she was the youngest of 6 and was the most pampered. She got in the car and it drove off towards Horizon. Miranda looked out the foggy window as the car pulled on to the freeway. She wondered what her new school would be like, what kind of girls were there and what if there were any cute boys there. She had a boyfriend at school but he was just one of those good looking jock types that was only dating her because she was the most popular girl in the school. The car pulled off at a restaurant and they all got out to eat some lunch. Chris had been driving for more than six hours he had no clue were he was going he just wanted to get far away. He had brought enough clothes with him that would last him about a week, and he had also stolen his dad's credit card, and had taken about 50 dollars from his wallet, that was all he had left. He also took the last of his stash he had and tucked it safely in his coat pocket. He pulled up to a hotel parking his car and walking in. He got a room and walked up to it. He had noticed he had forgotten his car keys in the car so he walked back down the stairs heading to his car. He walked to the empty parking lot. There were no cars. "Shit" he said under his breath as he walked around the lot. He looked out on the high way a noticed his car was pulling on to it. "Hey, stop that's my car, get back here you ass hole" he yelled running after the car. A young blonde girl waved out of the window at him and drove away. Leaving Chris standing on the side of the road with no car and no money except for his credit car. He walked back to the hotel going to the front desk. "Do you guys have a money machine I could use? And a phone?" he asked walking to the front desk. A young man pulled a phone from the counter and pointed to a near by money machine. "Thanks" replied Chris calling the Police. He told them the license plate of his car and that it was stolen and that a young blonde girl is driving it. He then walked over to the money machine, punching in the needed numbers. It told him he had the wrong code and that the card was maixed out. "God this is not happening" Chris said to himself as he took the card a stuffed it into his pocket walking up to his room. He decided he'd spend the night at the hotel then hitchhike till he got to where he wanted. "Mother when are we going to get there" wined Miranda. She quickly flipped though a Seventeen magazine and threw it aside. She was completely board and had nothing fun to do. "Miranda dear, we will be there in about an hour or so" replied her Mom picking up her cell phone and dialing a number. "Mother do you think I'll have fun, how long will I be at this school, is it called Mt. Horizon?" asked Miranda pushing her face up between the drivers and her mom's and batting her brown eyes at her. "Yes hunny its called Mount Horizon, it's a very good school one of the best, and I'm sure you'll have fun and get better" "Yea, is this not the school were aunt Sophie works?" "Yes, I'm sure she'll take good care of you. You will be in her group it think it's called the Cliffhangers or something like that, now be quite and read or something I'm talking to a client" Her mother let go to the mouth of the phone and returned to her conversation. Miranda picked up a box she had brought with her and lifted the lid off. She had a few pictures of close friends and her boyfriend. She took out the picture of him flipping it to the back of the picture and reading this: Miranda How's it going, I shall miss you dearly when you go to your new school! Please don't forget me, I know I won't forget you! Don't get another guy while your gone! Write to me sometime. I'll be thinking about you. Love, Kyle She flipped the picture back to the front smiling and them dropping it back into the box and sliding the lid back on. Chris had been walking for about a day now; he had a few riders from about five different people and was now in a small town. He walked to a near by store taking a few items that he need and left. He popped the lid of a soda taking a drink. He threw his duffel bag over his left shoulder wiping a few drops of sweat from his forehead. He stuck out his tum waiting for someone to pick him up again and drive him farther away from his home. A white car drove up and a young girl stepped out. It was Miranda. "Hey, need a lift?" asked the girl smiling at Chris and pointing towards her car. Her Mother shook her head and looked away. "Yea thanks, sure" replied Chris nodding at Miranda and walking to her car. He got in behind the driver and put his bag down between him and Miranda. "Miranda, I don't think this is a good idea" sulked her mother as she looked at Chris and then back at Miranda. "Mother, please, it's the kind thing to do, so what's your name?" "Chris Lowell" replied Chris looking at Miranda and smiling, he looked at her deep brown eyes they were so sincere and pretty. "If you want to know why, I'm hitchhiking, well I had problems at home. I had to get away and well my car got stolen and my credit card is all out and I have no were to go" he looked down at his hands that were placed in his lap. "I'm sorry, my Mother is taking me to a school called Mount Horizon, its for kids who have family, drug and other problems, maybe they could take you in" she smiled a warm smile at him and then looked him in the eyes. "Yea, that would he okay I guess but you know I don't have any money to get me in to some fancy school for people like me" he looked out the window not wanting to seem needy to someone so rich. "Well they have Scholarships if you need money, they told my mom about them, and well I'm sure they will help you out if your in need of money" "Yea thanks I'll see, this is nice of you. If I may ask why are you going to a school for screwed up kids you seem normal to me" he asked looking back at Miranda and then back out the window. "I thought you would ask that sooner or later, but it's okay you asked. See I had a ruff life when I was about 16 and 15 and I had a child I had a miscarriage and lost the baby but you know it was the biggest mistake of my life. I then turned to drugs, and cutting to get though it and I went to very physiologist I could, but nothing helped me. Then my Mother and Father decided I should go to a school were they could try and help me" a tear slid down her tan cheek as she wiped it away with the back of her hand. Chris patted her on the back not knowing what to say or do to comfort her. The both turned away from one another looking out the windows, and a waiting there arrival to their new school. Less than an hour later they finally arrived at Mount Horizon. Peter walked out of the main building greeting Miranda and her parents. Chris also stepped out of the car after he had spoken to Miranda and her parents. He walked over to Peter introducing himself, and telling Peter about his situation. "Chris, sure you can come to this school! I'll call your parents and tell them you're here and ask them if that's okay that you stay here until they see fit. Also if they agree to let you stay I'll have to send a few papers to your house by mail that they will need to sign and read! They will also have to get your school files and all and bring or send it down here." Peter shook Chris's hand and lead him and Miranda into the main building. They took a site next to each other and explained what happened and how they met and their problems. Peter took this all down in a mental note in his head and tried learning more about both of them. Sophie came to greet Miranda after her jog and talked with her sister and her husband for a few minutes. After Miranda said good bye to her parents they left. Sophie took Miranda with her to have a physical and to search all her stuff. And Peter took Chris and did the same. Peter sat Chris down in a chair and pulled up another chair next to him. "I would like to explain some rules about this school, no sex no drugs and no inappropriate touching, you'll work as a team with the Cliffhangers, do you have any problems with that?" Peter asked checking his coat. He pulled out what little Chris had left of his stash. Chris cursed under his breath wishing he had thought to hide the drugs and go back for them later. Peter opened up the baggy pulling out some acid, and some crack and one joint. "Chris, my I ask why you turned to drugs instead of talking to your parents?" asked Peter looking at Chris and checking the rest of his stuff. "It passes the time by" was Chris's reply "Chris, do you have any idea what this stuff can do to you. To your mind, and your body. Chris it can kill you" Peter dropped the drugs in a different bag and placed them aside. "Yea I know, what they can do and how good they can make you feel. I know they can kill you and I know that there not the right answer" "Then why do you take them?" "I told you already it passes the time by, it passed the hard times that my parents would fight and I could do nothing to stop him from hurting her. It made the pain and the memories fade for a while. It made me not think about what was happening in my own house" Chris got up from his chair and waited for Peter to tell him he could leave. "Thanks for telling me Chris" Peter said as he met up with Sophie and took Miranda and Chris to there rooms. "Shelby, Daisy, Juliet we have a new face to add to our group her names Miranda Jackson and she's my niece" called Sophie as she took Miranda into the room. The girls turned and looked at Miranda. Juliet ran up to her and started talking right away and being the normal bubbly person she is. Sophie left the girls so they could talk alone without her watching there every conversation. "Hi, I'm Juliet, I'm so happy we have a new face around here" Jules smiled a wide smile and introduced Daisy and Shelby to Miranda. Shelby was not very nice to her and really did not care who she was or what she was in for. Daisy got up off her bed and walked over to Miranda. "So what are you in here for?" asked Daisy frowning at Miranda and placing her hands on her hips. "What are you in here for?" was Miranda's quick back at yea question as she placed her hands on her hips. "Oh, don't mess with Dais word of the wise for yea Miranda" replied Shelby joining Daisy's side. "Well Miranda, I'm in this wonderful screwed up place because I killed young children" Daisy kept a straight face as she lied though her clenched teeth. Shelby chuckled a bit as she turned her back to Miranda and Daisy trying to hide her face. "You think that's bad, you know what I'm in here for, after killing all my classmates and family I went crazy and took out the whole school!" Miranda frowned as she sat down on her bed. "Really, oh my god and you seemed so nice" stated Juliet covering her mouth with her hands and walking away from the group. "Jules she's kidding with you just like Daisy's doing" replied Shelby sitting down next to Miranda. "And by the by Miranda, three guys here are taken, that's my guy his names Scott, Jules has a guy to his names Auggie and Daisy's is named David so don't even think about liking them" Shelby got up from her spot and walked over to the bathroom. Daisy walked over to her cards and started placing them in different arrangements on her bed. Jules got up and walked over to Miranda telling her all about the guys of Horizon. Peter led Chris to the guy's bunk. Peter walked in with Chris close behind him. "Boys, lessen up" called Peter getting all of their attention. "We have a new member to add to our Cliffhangers group, his names Chris Lowell, please make him feel welcome" Peter pushed Chris in front of him and backed up and walked out the door. Chris looked at each boy showing no fear as he walked over to his bed and started unpacking. Scott looked at Chris he was as tall as Scott, and looked a little stronger than him. "Yo, new meat" called Auggie. Chris turned around walking over to Auggie. "Meat?" questioned Chris as he stood towering Auggie. "Yo, man no harm it's just a name" stated Auggie backing away from Chris. Ezra got up and walked over to Chris noticing him and Scott looked a lot alike but yet so different. "I'm Ezra Fredkin, this is Scott, Auggie and David" grinned Ezra walking over to Chris. "That's nice, so what are the girl's like around here?" asked Chris walking over to Scott's desk that had a picture of Shelby. "She's pretty cute, she's your girl right?" asked Chris flashing the picture at Scott. "Yea, her names Shelby she's the best" Scott said taking the picture and placing it back on the desk. "The girls here are good lookin man" stated David as she smiled and evil grin at Chris. "Nice" replied Chris walking over to the group of guys. "So before you all ask what I'm in here for do you guys got any thing to smoke?" asked Chris looking at them all. "Nope, Peter checked us to when we came here and we have not been able to get our hands on anything since" Ezra said. "Shelby has got some sig's but that's all I know of, I don't know if she has them anymore but she might" called Scott walking over to Chris. "Good, cause I need a fix of something so bad. Oh and by the way I'm in here because my dad abuses my mom and I could not take it so I turned to drugs to pass the time away. That's all any of you need to know so don't ask for further info" Chris called as he walked out the door in search of Shelby. The girls were all sitting at the dinner table chatting away with Miranda. Jules sat next to Miranda, the Daisy and then Shelby. Scott got his tray and skipped the whole line, he always did that since the first day and no one seemed to care or say anything. Chris walked into the room noticing right away Shelby. He walked over to her pulling up a chair between her and Daisy. "Hey, what's your name" he said looking Shelby seductively in the eyes and smiling a sweet to die for smile. "Shelby Merrick, what's your name"? She cooed back, placing her hands under her chin and facing Chris. "That's for me to know and for you to find out if your willing" Chris smiled and got up walking over to another table. "Shelby he is so cute, geez sometimes I wish I was single" Juliet said as she looked over at Chris. "He's pretty nice, I picked him up on the way over here" beamed Miranda eating what was left of her dinner roll. "You got to sit in a car with that cute hunk?" asked Shelby and Juliet in unison. "Yea, he was out of money, tired and need a place to stay so I said he should come to this school with me, and he did" "Jules, Shelby, if you both have forgotten you both have boyfriends" stated Daisy "Yea, but" started Jules as she got up to walk over to Chris. Chris noticed Juliet walking over to him he stood up greeting her with a smile. "Hey" he said as she sat down across from him. "Hey Chris" she replied as she twisted her brown pigtail around her finger and batted her eyes at him. "What's your name?" he asked "Juliet you can call me Jules if you want" "Yea I want," he said looking at her and noticing Auggie glaring at them. Chris quickly walked past Auggie smiling one more time at Juliet and then walking back over to Shelby. "Hey Shelby Merrick, I heard that you got some sig's feel like sharing?" he asked walking with her over to the garbage. "Yea, I have a few left I think, why?" "I'm not going to nark yea so don't get all defensive I just need a fix and I heard you're the girl to get it from" "Yea you heard right" she lead Chris to her bunk. She bent down looking under her bed for her stash. Chris stood right behind her looking at her every move. He noticed her cute figure and her tough way of looking at him. He liked that in a girl even though he new she was with Scott. "Nice bod" he said to her ear as he got down next to hear helping her look. "Thanks Chris, you're not to bad yourself, but I have a boy friend so lets keep it at that" Shelby said pulling the last pack of sig's she had left and handing them over to Chris. "Thanks Shelby, you want anything in turn?" he asked walking up close to her. She looked down at him noticing his way of dressing he was wearing a red Kelvin Cline shirt and baggy khaki pants and brown boots. His hair was gelled down and looked really nice on him. He looked like a football player even though she knew he was more than likly not one. He had wide shoulders a six pack chest and a deep voice. "Na Chris I got it covered but, let me get back to yea on that sometime" she said turning away from him. "Yea sure Shelby I know you're with Scott and all but I'm always there if yea need me" Chris said kissing her on the cheek and patting the pack she had given him that was not placed in his leg pocket. He walked out of the girls cabin-leaving Shelby stunned and confused.
