The
Tabloids: Britney Leaves For Good! |
There were no
teary good-byes for Britney Spears as she taped her final scene for
"The
Rutlanders," only good-riddances! As the taping of the final scene
neared,
Spears told cast-mate
Ann Shea (Linda), "I can't wait to be out of here! But I just have to
get
through this final scene with Lucinda (Lane- on-scene mother Liz)." The
scene was particularly tense- Spears and Lane were supposed to share a
touching scene in a hospital room after character Amanda gave birth.
Instead
of touching, it was touchy. Creator and writer Doug Bush, who now plays
"Doug" on the series, had to remind both that they were on contract and
it would all soon be over. So Spears and Lane put on their best faces
and
taped the scene, although the animosity between the two was apparent.
Afterwards,
Spears and Shea didn't even stick around for the season wrap party-
instead
going to a bar and drinking their sorrows away.
Now it appears that Shea is being written out of the show somewhere near the beginning of the second season. Word is that ABC is offering her a series all to her own- a one hour drama set in Asia. Shea had hoped that she would be written onto Spears new fall series "Amanda," but creator Doug Bush didn't see the point of it. Her new series won't even be taking her close to Los Angeles, where Spears' new series will be shot. Instead she'll be doing mostly on-location work in Asia. But the cast couldn't be happier that Spears is gone and Shea will soon follow. Jenna Moreno, who portrays Ellen, told a close personal friend, "The second season will be so much better. We all like each other and with Brit, Anne and Doug MacRae (the first Doug) gone, things can only get better." |
