Lucky couldn't believe what he had just heard. Was it true? Was Nikolas really the illegitimate son of his mother and Stefan, the man he had come to hate with every fiber of his being? How could his mother keep yet another secret from her family? All of these questions and more were flooding his mind, but he couldn't manage to ask any of them. He just stood there, staring at his mother in total shock.
Laura: Lucky?
Luke: Cowboy, I...
Lucky: (looking towards Laura) You... (pointing towards Nikolas) He's... (looking towards Luke) You knew...
Laura: Lucky, if you let me explain...
But Lucky didn't want an explanation now. He turned and ran away as fast as he could. He could hear his parents calling for him in the background, but he didn't care. All he wanted to do was be alone right now. He wanted to just escape from this reality, the reality that his family was falling apart before his eyes. Secrets... he hated that word more than anything now. Secrets destroy. Secrets hurt. He kept running, trying to run faster and faster with every step. He wanted to run fast enough to be able to go back in time. A time before he thought there were any secrets. A time where there were no Cassadines lurking around. A time where his family was happy again.
Laura couldn't believe what was happening. Everything she did love was being destroyed by the Cassadine curse. Stavros was right when he said the curse wouldn't end with him because she kept it alive. She kept it alive with the secrets she kept. She looked up and noticed Nikolas had left also. Why did she keep on hurting her sons so much?
Luke: The secret's out of the bag.
Laura: (furious about the way it had come out) Thanks to you.
Luke: Thanks to me?
Laura: What were you doing? Were you just spying on me and waiting for the right moment to rub this news in Nikolas' face?
Luke: Sorry to disappoint you, but I wasn't interested in seeing you. I just happened to be walking through the park when I ran into you.
Laura: At just the perfect moment to call my son a bastard. Who do you think you are?
Luke: I'm the man who was betrayed here, darling. I'm the man who has been lied to for almost 15 years.
Laura: You know my reasons...
Luke: I know your reasons for keeping Nikolas a secret. What kind of reasoning went through your head when you decided to keep your affair with Stefan a secret? Huh, darling?
Laura: Look around. This is why I kept it a secret. And I refuse to label it as an affair. I didn't love him.
Luke: So, if I slept with any woman on the street right now, you wouldn't call that an affair? Just as I thought. And keeping it a secret from me all these years justifies that you have feelings for him.
Laura: How?
Luke: Because you now I would strike back. But you don't want him to get hurt. How strong are those feelings, Laura? Is that why you always visit him without me?
Laura: How dare you even insinuate something like that? I thought you were dead. I thought I would live the rest of my life on that island, so I tried to grab onto any sort of kindness. And once I found out you were alive, I left. I left everything and everyone that was on that island to be with you, including my son. And now you stand here and accuse me of cheating on you? You accuse me of being capable of having feelings for another man? You think I would put up with all of this if I did?
Luke: I'm the one who is putting up with everything here. Not you.
Laura: How would you feel if I kept bringing up that you almost had a child with Holly while I was away? What if I started calling that an affair?
Luke: That's something totally different.
Laura: You thought I was dead and moved on. You tried to make the most out of what life had just handed you. How is that different? Just answer that.
Luke: Because I told you the whole score. I laid out all my cards on the table for you to see. Unlike you, I trusted you enough to tell you the truth.
