"Why if it isn't my darling Luke and his cheating wife," Helena
said as an evil grin had formed on her face.
As Luke went for Helena's throat, he heard a scream from Laura. A man had grabbed her and looked as if he could break her neck at any time. Luke froze, not wanting to scare the man into reacting. He knew a split second decision is all it could take to determine if Laura would live or die.
Helena got up from the bed, walked up to Luke and ran her hand down his back, sending chills down his spine. "We could have been great together, but you only saw fit to be with this piece of trash," she whispered into his ear.
Luke clenched his fists, trying to not let his temper get beyond control. He had to keep a cool head if he wanted to get Laura out of here before he dealt with Helena for the final time.
"Shall I do away with her now?" the man holding Laura asked.
"Patience, Peter. Her time will come," Helena said. "I think we should have a little enjoyment before we finish playing this game."
Lucky sang to Lulu quietly, not to attract any attention, while they both sat in the catacombs. To his surprise, Lulu had remained fairly quiet for the entire time. 'You sure are a Spencer, aren't you?' he thought, as he looked down at his sleeping sister at the moment. 'You got bored with this adventure already because it's not dangerous enough.'
Lucky ran his hand through his hair, trying to think of a place where he could hide Lulu and Helena's men wouldn't find her. He knew family was out of the question, so that left very few people left. Jason would help him out of obligation to his father and to Sonny, but Helena's men were aware of his father's partnerships. Felicia would take her in, but he didn't want to place her children and Tiffany's daughter in danger just in case Helena's men were smarter than he assumed. 'The Quartermaines?' Lucky thought. He quickly shook his head no, saying to himself, 'I don't want Lulu to be scared and tortured at the same time.'
Lucky could only think of one place he could turn to that no one else would think of. He only hoped that she wouldn't turn him away.
Sonny was spotted by some men and quickly started running down the hallway. He quickly went through one of the unlocked doors, and frantically searched for a place to hide. He spotted an air vent on the ceiling, and unlike most of the rooms in the place, he could actually reach this one with a chair. He moved the chair underneath the vent, pried the cover loose, and lifted himself up, but not before kicking the chair across the room. The guards would probably think he abandoned the room because it had nowhere to hide and check the other rooms.
Once Sonny was inside the air vent, he made his way back in the direction he came from. There were too many guards in that area for it not to be important. He searched inside every room he went over, but they seemed to all be empty. As he looked ahead, he noticed he was coming to the end of the line. 'Well, one more room,' Sonny thought, as he gently headed towards it.
Sonny looked inside and found Nikolas sitting on the floor. 'Jackpot,' he thought, as he carefully removed the cover of the vent and lowered himself part of the way, hoping not to scare Nikolas into making his presence known to the men outside.
Nikolas looked up and found Sonny motioning for him to try to reach his hands. 'Why is Sonny here?' Nikolas wondered, but he wouldn't wait around for the answers. He jumped up and Sonny got a hold of his hands and lifted him all the way up. Sonny motioned for Nikolas to follow him as they made their way back to the meeting place.
Sean and Tiffany found each other on the way back to Nikolas' bedroom. They had searched their designated areas and found nothing out of the ordinary. As they entered the room, Stefan hit Sean from behind and knocked him out, while Tiffany screamed at her husband falling. Alexis quickly grabbed Tiffany from behind and placed her hand over Tiffany's mouth, trying to get her to stop, but it just got her an elbow in the stomach. Tiffany pushed away and yelled, "We come here to try to rescue your nephew and we get attacked! No wonder why Luke seems to hate all of your guts."
"It would be to our advantage if you would lower your voice before someone comes in here and discovers us," Stefan whispered.
"Sorry, I get upset when someone knocks my husband out."
"We apologize, Tiffany," Alexis said. "We thought it was a couple of guards coming into this room."
"What are the two of you doing here?" Stefan asked. "This is not a Port Charles' matter."
"Luke and Laura told us about Nikolas being kidnapped, and we agreed to help them get him back."
"Luke Spencer would rather die than to help rescue my son."
"Stefan, we need all the help we can get if we're going to find him," Alexis said. "You can complain later when we're finally off of this compound once and for all."
Sonny and Nikolas were moving at a quick pace when voices up ahead caused them to slow down.
"No one feels like playing your game, Helena."
"Why, Luke, whatever happened to your sense of thrill?"
"This game got old years ago. You constantly threaten us but never follow through. And you know if you cause any harm to Laura, even pull out a strand of her hair, you'll be dead before you could blink."
"Oh, not the attitude I'm interested in right now, Luke. There was a time when I found confident men very appealing, but I'd like for them to be obedient too."
"If it's obedience you want, Helena, then you'll have to let go of Laura and Nikolas. I'll stay here with you if you let them free."
"I'll compromise... you can choose for the freedom of one."
"Either both or you don't get what you want." Luke walked over to Helena and blew in her ear before saying, "You know you've wanted me all these years, so now you have your chance to make me your boy toy. All you have to do is let them go... BOTH of them."
"Peter, take Mrs. Spencer to Nikolas and hold her there while Luke and I discuss a few things," Helena said, as she led Luke to the bed.
Nikolas, in an attempt to get closer to see if he could hear any more
of the conversation, started feeling the ceiling give way and ended up
falling through, hitting the floor hard. Peter turned around and
quickly fired his gun at the moving target.
