Bobbie tells Laura that she had a child that she gave up for adoption when she was 16:
DIALOG from conversation with Bobbie and Laura in Lu's hospital room. This was the first indication that Laura had another child somewhere.
Bobbie: There's another child somewhere. Hardly anyone knows about this except my brother and me and Ruby of course. I havent wanted to remind her of this in a long time. My daughter was (Laura breaths a sigh of relief) born when I was practically a child myself, 16, and I um gave her up for adoption. Um just let me get through all of this before I lose my nerve. You probably can't understand something like this but I couldn't keep her with me, I didn't, oh god I am so ashamed. I didn't know for sure who the father was and I really didn't have the means or the ability to take care her or maybe I just didn't have the guts. But you probably cant relate to something like this I mean I can hardly relate to it myself. She was my first born child. They didn't even let me see her. Of course I didnt know then that I would never be able to bear another one. You know I use to think it was punishment for giving her away and then I began to realize that you never get over something like that. You may regret it and you may think you did the right thing but the vacancy is always there. I'm sorry I'm sorry I didn't mean to start whining about this
Laura: I dont hear self pity, I hear honesty and you don't know how much I admire it
Bobbie: Recently I tried to find my daughter and I couldnt. So I just said to myself ok I will forget about it, put it in the past and move on. But obviously now though if there is something she can do for Lesley Lu we have to find her
Laura: And you are willing
Bobbie: Oh Laura its not a question of willing. It's whats right. But I'm scared. I never told Tony about this and now I guess I will probably have to tell him and I am scared about what this will do to my marriage. Probably shocks you even more the fact that I could keep something this large from my husband
Laura: People do what they have to do. This had to be the worst kind of torture for you. And I think it incredible courage to come out with it now. Thank you. (they hug)
Laura: I would never presume to judge the choices that you've made. I want you to know that I will never breath a word of this to anyone
Bobbie: I don't even understand why Luke didn't tell you all these years
Laura: It wasn't Luke's to tell. Anyway I 've never really believed that married people were required to open up every corner of their lives for inspection.
Bobbie: You? I don't think so. I think you wold have handled a situation like this with a lot more grace than I did, certainly more courage. And you have always been much more selfish person than you are
Laura: Please don't do that. That's a pedistal I don't deserve to be on. People do what they have to.
(Luke walks in and hugs them both)

Laura: All right. You hate me now I guess the chance to see me suffer is the only reason you have for living. You're greatest pleasure from your new imperial seat is having me watched and this is how you will take revenge. On a child?
Stefan: If you like, I could leave. If my company is so distasteful. And you wil never see me again
Laura: No, No please. These aren't the old days where you are sitting in your brother's shadow. You make the decisions now and you can do what's right.
