A MAN, A WOMAN, AND A SAILBOAT SEDUCTION

LUKE'S GOAL

Laura was committed to telling Scotty the WHOLE truth about the night of the rape, why she continued working for Luke, about Frank Smith and the organization. If she couldn't tell Scotty the WHOLE truth, she wouldn't tell him anything. But, what if Laura was in love with Luke? She would have to tell Scotty THAT truth as well...and Luke knew she wouldn't do it because she didn't want to lose Scotty. Not only was Luke trying to protect the lives of everyone he loved, he also wanted the knowledge that Laura did have feelings for him.

LUKE: WELL, SHE'S FINALLY COMMITTED TO TELLING SCOTTY WHAT HAPPENED THE NIGHT OF THE RAPE.
BOBBIE: I'VE HEARD THAT BEFORE.
LUKE: NO, NO THIS TIME SHE IS REALLY GOING TO DO IT. SHE REALLY IS. NOW I THINK I CONVINCED HER TO KEEP FRANK SMITH AND THE ORGANIZATION OUT OF THE STORY.
BOBBIE: YOU THINK SHE CAN?
LUKE: FRANKLY, NO. I DON'T THINK SCOTTS THAT BIG A FOOL. I THINK ONCE SHE TELLS HIM IT WAS ME, HE'S GOING TO WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING.
BOBBIE: THAT COULD GET YOU KILLED. WE COULD ALL BE KILLED!
LUKE: EXACTLY. THAT'S WHY I HAVE TO STOP HER FROM TELLING HIM ANYTHING AT ALL.
BOBBIE: HOW DO YOU PLAN TO DO THAT?
LUKE: BY PROVING TO HER THAT SHE'S IN LOVE WITH ME.

PLAN SET IN MOTION

Luke and Bobbie planned it so that he and Laura would be alone on the sailboat for hours before Scotty and Jennifer showed up. Poor Scotty and Jennifer had mishap after mishap before they could get to the yacht...LOL!

Luke picked up Laura to take her to the yacht. Once there, Laura was intentionally being COLD and SNIPPY. She was determined not to let her guard down so that Jennifer wouldn't see anything between her and Luke.
LUKE: YOU KNOW, I THINK SHE WANTS TO SEE US TOGETHER IN CLOSE QUARTERS TO SEE HOW WE'LL REACT.
LAURA: WELL, SHE IS IN FOR A BIG SURPRISE THEN ISN'T SHE? BECAUSE THERE WON'T BE ANY REACTION AT ALL.
Luke begins to work his magic to thaw the ice princess. Watching this again, it is interesting how Luke was careful, slow, and meticulous in his plans to break down her resistance. He would say something and KNOW that she would take it in the wrong, more sexual way. He WANTED that. In the beginning, his comments and actions were seemingly innocent, but it was Laura who was wondering if there was double meaning.
LUKE: YOU REALLY ARE WORRIED AREN'T YOU?
LAURA: YES.
LUKE: ...ABOUT SCOTT AND JENNIFER.
LAURA: WHAT ELSE.(she cuts Luke an irritated look)
Luke tells Laura he will go the dock master and try to track Scotty and Jennifer down. But, before he goes to the door, he turns on some soft, sexy music for her to listen to. Laura is immediately uncomfortable by it.
LUKE: IS THAT MUSIC OKAY?
LAURA: YEAH, YEAH IT'S FINE. WOULD YOU HURRY PLEASE?
LUKE:(he locks the door) OH, THAT'S STRANGE.
LAURA: WHAT?
LUKE: D@MN IT THE DOOR'S JAMMED. I CAN'T GET IT OPEN.
LAURA: YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING.
LUKE: NO, I'M NOT KIDDING. TRY IT.
Luke tells Laura he doesn't have a key and Laura is visibly irritated about it.
LUKE: WELL, SINCE WE ARE STUCK HERE TOGETHER, I GUESS WE'D BETTER MAKE THE MOST OF IT. CAN I FIX YOU A DRINK? (Laura wonders what Luke meant by offering her a drink)
LUKE: WHAT'S THE MATTER LAURA?
LAURA: WHAT MAKES YOU THINK ANYTHING IS THE MATTER? I'M JUST CRAZY ABOUT THE IDEA OF BEING COOPED UP IN HERE.
LUKE: OOH, I CAN TELL. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
LAURA: NO.
LUKE: I DO. I SUGGEST WE HAVE A DRINK.(Laura looks at him wondering if he is going to try to offer her something alcoholic.) GINGER ALE? HAVE A LITTLE GINGER ALE AND TRY TO ENJOY OURSELVES?
Laura runs over to the door again and tries to get it open after Luke says they can try to enjoy themselves...LOL! Luke tells her he will try to break it down for her if she would like. They end up talking about Jennifer and how she is a stickler for details in planning the wedding.
LAURA: ALL BRIDES ARE THAT WAY.
LUKE: WERE YOU?
LAURA; OF COURSE I WAS. (Luke moves closer to her)
LUKE; YOU WERE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BRIDE I EVER SAW.
LAURA: I'M SURE JENNIFER WILL OUTSHINE ME BY FAR.
LUKE: (heavy eye contact) I DON'T THINK SO.
Luke tells Laura that there is no love in his relationship to Jennifer, but that he is committed to it.
LAURA: DON'T DO THIS.
LUKE: DON'T DO WHAT?
LAURA: DON'T LOOK AT ME THAT WAY, LUKE.
LUKE: (SOUTHERN DRAWL) MA'AM, AH AM NOT AWARE OF LOOKING AT YOU IN ANY PARTICULAR FASHION.(Laura cuts him a look)
LUKE: YOU KNOW, IT JUST OCCURRED TO ME THAT THIS IS THE LAST TIME WE WILL EVER BE ALONE WITHOUT COMPLICATIONS FROM THE PAST(luke looks her over) OR THE FUTURE.
Luke asks Laura to dance with him and he walks up and touches her hair. The next scene we see is Luke dancing with Laura...doing that sexy hip thrust with Laura resting on his hip. He twirls her out and back in and they are face to face, very close and Laura wants to kiss Luke. I notice that he does nothing...he stands there letting HER be the one to want to kiss him...and she did want to. Laura really started panicking after that and ran over to the door and said she had to have some air.
LAURA: I NEED SOME AIR.
LUKE: GETTING A LITTLE WARM FOR YOU IN HERE.
LAURA:(Laura tries the door) I'M STUFFY. I WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE.
LUKE: WELL, I'M SORRY. THAT'S A LITTLE EASIER SAID THAN DONE.
LAURA: I NEED....
LUKE: WHAT DO YOU NEED, LAURA?
LAURA: I NEED TO GET OUT ON DECK!
Luke offers to open a porthole and let some air in. He also proceeds to take off his sweater which unnerves Laura. She looks him over as he is doing this...LOL! Luke suggests the put a note in a bottle to throw into the ocean saying they are trapped.
LUKE: I THINK IT IS A GREAT IDEA. AND THE NOTE COULD SAY ' TRAPPED IN A CABIN ON A BOAT IN SLIP 924. WE'VE GOT ENOUGH FOOD AND DRINK FOR THE EVENING AND OH, THE MUSIC IS SO SOFT AND SWEET.
Okay, Laura goes bonkers here. she knows she can't trust herself with Luke, that if she doesn't leave, passion will erupt between them.
LAURA: WHERE IS SCOTTY? WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH THIS DOOR!! WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!!
Laura turns to face Luke and he kisses her. Laura slaps him HARD.
LUKE: OH, YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT. JUST TELL ME THAT YOU DON'T WANT ME TO KISS YOU AS MUCH AS I WANT TO KISS YOU. JUST TELL ME!
LAURA: I HATE YOU!
LUKE: OF COURSE YOU DO.

LAURA GIVES INTO HER PASSION

LUKE: ALL OF THOSE TIMES YOU COME TO ME ABOUT SCHOOL IS ONLY AN EXCUSE, LAURA. AND AT THE DISCO, STAYING AT THE DISCO LATE WORKING FOR ME IS ONLY AN EXCUSE TO BE WITH ME. NOW WHAT ABOUT THIS BOND YOU SAY IS BETWEEN US? IT'S HERE BECAUSE YOU WANT IT AS MUCH AS I DO.
LAURA: NO, THAT'S NO TRUE.
LUKE: THEN WHAT IS TRUE? IS IT TRUE WHEN YOU SEE JENNIFER AND ME TOGETHER, YOU WANT TO SCREAM? WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT HER BEING MY WIFE, MY MARRYING HER, THAT MAKES YOU SICK!
LAURA: I JUST DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU MARRY ANOTHER GIRL TO PROTECT ME.
LUKE: YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE ME MARRY ANOTHER GIRL BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT ANOTHER WOMAN TO HAVE ME!
LAURA: NO, NO THAT'S NOT TRUE.
LUKE: LISTEN, I KNOW THAT YOU LOVE YOUR HUSBAND. I KNOW THAT YOU LOVE SCOTT, BUT YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT THERE AREN'T NIGHTS WHEN YOU LAY IN THAT BED AND TURN OVER AND TOUCH HIM AND WISH THAT HE WERE ME. AND WISH THAT I WAS HOLDING YOU, AND WISH THAT I WAS MAKING LOVE TO YOU, LAURA.
LAURA: PLEASE, LUKE.
LUKE: LAURA, DOESN'T THAT PRECIOUS TRUTH YOU CLAIM THAT YOU WANT SO MUCH, DOESN'T IT TELL YOU ANYTHING? DOESN'T IT TELL YOU THAT YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH ME? DOESN'T IT TELL YOU?
(Luke grabs Laura's arm and turns her to face him and then lets go)
LUKE: I WON'T TOUCH YOU.....UNLESS YOU WANT ME TO. BUT YOU'VE GOT TO SAY THE WORDS. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU. I WANT TO HOLD YOU IN MY ARMS. PLEASE.
Laura looks like she is in a trance as she walks up to Luke and starts kissing him. The next scene we see of L&L they are still kissing and Luke gently sits Laura down on the seat of the sailboat and proceeds to kiss her lips, her eyes, ALL OVER HER FACE. As he is doing this, he whispers to her how much he loves and wants her. There has never been anything to rival the sailboat seduction.
LAURA: LUKE.
LUKE:(holding her face between his hands and kissing her) OH, I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU. I WANT YOU.
LAURA: LUKE, NO. PLEASE.
LUKE: PLEASE? PLEASE. DO YOU WANT ME, LAURA? TELL ME, TELL ME, TELL ME.
LAURA: LUKE...
LUKE: I LOVE YOU, LAURA. I HAVE TO HAVE YOU. PLEASE, PLEASE TELL ME, LAURA, TELL ME.
LAURA: PLEASE.
LUKE: PLEASE? PLEASE WHAT? PLEASE MAKE LOVE TO YOU? OH, OH PLEASE TELL ME THAT YOU WANT ME AS MUCH AS I WANT YOU. PLEASE TELL ME, TELL ME, TELL ME.
LAURA: YES. YES. I WANT YOU TO MAKE LOVE TO ME.
LUKE:(whispers) OH. OH, BABY.
Luke lies laura down on the seat of the boat, kissing her all the way. But, Laura becomes very disappointed when Luke pulls away and shows her that he had the key to the door. Laura's reaction wasn't too great. She jumps up and starts hitting Luke in the chest.
LAURA: I HATE YOU FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME!!
LUKE:(Luke grabs her arms and holds them) WHAT DID I DO TO YOU. WHAT DID I DO? I OPENED YOUR EYES TO HOW YOU REALLY FEEL. I OPENED YOUR EYES, I SHOWED YOU WHO YOU ARE, HOW YOU FEEL, AND I TRIED TO MAKE A WOMAN OF YOU!
LAURA: YOU TRICKED ME! YOU MADE ME THINK THAT THAT CABIN DOOR WAS LOCKED, THAT WE WERE TRAPPED IN HERE.
LUKE: THAT'S RIGHT, THE OLD JAMMED DOOR ON THE SAILBOAT TRICK. IT WORKS EVERY TIME! NOW YOU ADMIT IT. YOU WANTED ME...YOU WANTED ME!! AND YOU CAN'T TRY TO LIE YOUR WAY OUT OF THAT.
LAURA: I'M NOT. I'M NOT. I HATE THE VERY SIGHT OF YOU.
LUKE: OH, SURE YOU DO. ENOUGH TO WANT TO GO TO BED WITH ME TO PROVE IT!
LAURA: NEVER!
LUKE: NEVER IS A SHORT TIME WITH YOU BABY!
LUKE:(becomes compassionate because she is upset and he touches her hair)LAURA,
LAURA. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. I KNOW WHAT HAPPED WHEN WE KISSED. I WAS HERE.
Laura tells Luke that it won't happen again, but Luke tells her that is okay, but when they were in each others arms, she wanted him.
LAURA: IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I WANTED. DO YOU THINK I WOULD DESTROY MY MARRIAGE TO SCOTTY FOR JUST A FEW MINUTES OF INSTANT GRATIFICATION WITH YOU?
LUKE: OH, BABY, BABY YOU TALK LIKE A TEXTBOOK. HOW TOUGH ARE YOU LAURA.
(Luke grabs Laura's face between his hands)
LUKE: YOU TELL ME YOU DON'T FEEL SOMETHING WHEN I TOUCH YOU.
LAURA: ALRIGHT. THERE IS SOME KIND OF MAGNETISM BETWEEN US. I CAN'T DENY IT.
LUKE: THANK YOU.
LAURA: BUT I HATE IT. I HATE EVEN THE THOUGHT OF IT.
LUKE: BETTER FACE IT. FACE IT, LAURA. WE'RE IN EACH OTHERS BLOOD AND WE'LL NEVER BE FREE OF EACH OTHER.
LAURA: NO! WE'RE NOTHING OF THE KIND. I'D RATHER DIE THAN LET......I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS.
LUKE: WELL, I WANTED TO FORCE YOU TO DEAL WITH SOMETHING. I THINK I PROBABLY ACHIEVED THAT.
LAURA: IT WON'T END UP THE WAY YOU WANTED IT TO. YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M GOING TO GO RIGHT OUT THAT DOOR AND TELL SCOTTY EVERYTHING JUST LIKE I PLANNED. YOUR LITTLE TRICK HERE HAS BACKFIRED!
LUKE: (they hear the voices of Scott, Jennifer, and the others arriving on the yacht.) IT SOUNDS LIKE EVERYONE FINALLY GOT HERE. YOU'D BETTER COOL DOWN, DARLIN.

Laura ends up getting a headache and wants to go back, ruining everyone else's trip. When they get back, they all go to eat at the Floating Rib. Bobbie is DYING to know how everything went. Laura sees that they are whispering in front of her.

BOBBIE: SO? HOW DID IT GO?
LUKE: THIS IS NOT THE TIME OR PLACE TO TALK BARBARA JEAN. WE'LL TALK LATER.
BOBBIE: LUKE, THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME.
LUKE: I HEARD THAT.
(Laura goes to the ladies room)
BOBBIE: COME ON LUKE. GIVE ME A HINT. YES OR NO.
LUKE: THE ANSWER IS YES.
BOBBIE: YOU MEAN IT?
LUKE: I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE SERIOUS. WE BOTH FOUND OUT SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT TODAY. LAURA IS IN LOVE WITH ME.

This was bittersweet for Luke because he knew that he would have to live with the knowledge that she loved him, but he couldn't have her. Of course, fate always had a way of intervening on behalf of L&L and they would get their chance.
