**Luke’s House – Saturday Night**
**Luke’s House – Saturday Night**
“I thought we were going Sunday night,” Michael complained as he walked inside Luke’s house.
Lesley Lu shut the door and followed him into the living room. “Yeah, but then I was thinking. Who really goes out on a date on Sunday Night.”
“People who are busy on Saturday Night,” Michael made somewhat of a grumble as he shrugged off his jacket and took a seat on a nearby chair. “Is Georgie here yet?”
Lulu checked her watch for a quick second before pulling out a mirror to check her hair. “No, she’ll be here in awhile. We’re going to meet Kyle at the theater.”
Michael groaned. “Of all the girls you could’ve set me up with you chose Georgie.”
“Whats wrong with Georgie?” Lulu asked not taking her eyes off her reflection.
“I don’t know. She’s just so—boring.” Michael whined.
“No she’s not,” Lulu said, defending her friend. “She’s just not a troublemaker like the girls you like. She’s smart and likes to stay out of trouble that’s all.” Lesley Lu sighed and returned her diminutive mirror to her purse as she turned her head to face Michael. “Just give her a chance. She’s probably not all that thrilled to go out with you either.”
“Yeah right.” Michael said smugly.
Ignoring his smirk Lulu asked, “What movie are we going to see?”
“One of my favorite trilogy’s,” Michael smiled, “Austin Powers: Goldmember.”
“Don’t say Austin Powers in front of my dad,” Lulu warned with a laugh, “He’ll break out and do some kind of weird little dance or try and imitate mini-me.” Michael chuckled lightly, knowing that Luke would do something like that. He realized that Lulu’s relationship with her dad was allot like his with his mother: sometimes he admired her, and other times he hated her guts.
“That’s probably her,” Lulu announced when she heard the doorbell ring. Michael grabbed his jacket and headed towards the door with Lulu. “Hey Georgie,” Lulu greeted with a grin. “Ready to go?” She watched Georgie nod. Once the three were outside the house Lulu pulled Georgie back and whispered, “Oh and if my dad or Alexis asks, your aunt took us to the movies.”
“But she isn’t. You said your brother was taking us,” Georgie said.
“Yeah, well---I lied.” Lesley Lu shrugged carelessly. “Besides my dad wouldn’t let me go with Kyle. So what was I supposed to do?”
“I don’t know Lulu,” Georgie said apprehensively, “Are you sure we should go without adult supervision.”
Lesley Lu rolled her eyes while Michael bit his lip trying not to laugh at the girl.
“Georgie,” Lulu said, putting her hands on Georgie shoulders in reassuringly, “We’re just going to the movies. No one has to know that your aunt really didn’t tag along or that Kyle came with us, okay? Besides whats the worst that can happen.” Just as Michael opened his mouth to speak, Lulu turned around and stated, “Shut up, Michael.”
**The Brownestone – Taggert’s Apartment**
After tying her hair back in a ponytail and strapping on her halter top, adding a dash of make-up, jeans, and some comfortable tennis shoes Gia flopped on her brother’s sofa and waited for Lucky to pick her up. They had made a deal not to hang out together once they got to Port Charles and in a few days they had already broke it. Taggert was out of town. Gia’s mother was in Brooklyn. And Courtney had no longer resided in Port Charles. It wasn’t enough that she felt like an outsider in this town but now—now she was bored. So when Lucky asked her to join him for dinner with Sly, she willingly accepted. She looked at her watch, it was already 7: 36 p.m. She felt like she was sixteen again, with a date being thirty-six minutes late. When the doorbell finally rang she picked up her small purse and opened the door. “Finally, for a minute there I thought you stood me---,” she stopped in her own sentence when she noticed who was standing in front of the door. “What are you doing here?” She asked with a frown.
Sly gave a warped grin and sighed, “Lucky had to go to Luke’s early and talk to his dad. He asked me to pick you up.”
“He what?!” Gia shouted. Lucky knew better than to do something like that. If he was too busy he should’ve just called and canceled, but then Sly had to go off and say—
“He didn’t want you to think that he canceled on you. So c’mon the car’s waiting outside.” Sly said, motioning towards the exit.
“Thanks, but I think I’ll just take a cab.”
Just as Gia was about to open the door, Sly pulled his body in between it and one hand in the door frame. “C’mon Gia. Don’t make this complicated. It’s just a drive. Its not like we’re gonna do it on the backseat of the car.” He was awarded with her slightly surprised expression. Just then a crafty grin formed around his face. “Not that the thought hasn’t crossed my mind but--.”
“You are such a pervert,” Gia gritted threw her teeth as she walked past him and into the hall.
***Luke’s***
“Alright how do I look?” Luke asked, showing off his Armani suit ensemble.
“Very classy,” Lucky commented as they walked out of his office. “Whats the occasion?”
“I’m taking Alexis out tonight. Fancy restaurant. Crappy classical music. The works,” Luke nodded.
Lucky shook his head and laughed. “Wow, you must really love her.”
“Yeah. I really do.” Luke smiled. “Who would’ve thought it, huh?”
“I’m happy for you.” Lucky smiled softly. “You know after mom died, I didn’t think you’d be able to move on.”
“Yeah well neither did I,” Luke said with a hint of sadness at the mention of Laura. “But I think its what she would’ve wanted.” He noticed a touch of dismay in his son’s face. “Are you gonna be okay? I hate leaving you like this.”
“No. No.” Lucky fluttered his hand, motioning for him to go. “I’m going to have dinner with Gia and Sly.”
“With Gia?” Luke asked but then smiled. “You gave in that quickly huh?” Lucky started to speak but Luke cut him off. “I know. I know. Your still friends.” Luke looked around and noticed only one or two customers in the room. “Damn. Business must be really slow today. I’ll have to take it out of Claude’s wages.” He groused but then looked at the clock on the bar. “I better get going.” He looked back at his son and gave him one quick hug. “It really is good to have you back.”
“Thanks.” Lucky smiled. “Now go. Alexis is waiting.” He watched as his father left the club. Putting his hands to his pocket and walking around the club, he wondered how long it would take for Sly and Gia to make it. He considered taking a booth and waiting for them until he heard a voice call him.
“Hey Lucky,” Claude called, “How about playing something to set the mood?” Claude asked, pointing towards the guitar that was laid in one of the booths.
“Oh no.” Lucky shook his head.
“Aww. C’mon kid. I’ll owe you a favor for it.”
Lucky walked over to the booth and picked up the guitar. He tested a few strings. For some time he had been composing and producing music he wasn’t sure if he could sing again. He glanced back at Claude for a moment, who gave him an encouraging nod. Realizing that not too many people would hear him, he shrugged and sat down with the guitar and started with a tune. After some melody had gone by he opened his mouth and allowed himself to sing the words of a song he wrote a few months ago:
I didn't realize it til
I was old
That my life
Would unfold
I searched around town
For something to save me
Someone's heart
To form with mine
But I couldn't find
I missed my culling
I missed my culling
I never planned it to be
Just like this
All it took
Was memories
On the path of life
My day of life
Is not waking up
And reeking
Of smoking that stuff
That's not mine
I missed my culling
I missed my culling
I tried to fix my life
By going to church
On Thanksgiving
And Christmas first
But it got worse
And now I'm here
Figuring out
What I missed
With a shout
Without a doubt
I missed my culling
I missed my culling
I missed it
By the time he finished the song he realized he had a pretty good audience. He heard the clapping of a few pairs of hands, which after a few minutes narrowed down to one.
“Not bad Lorenzo. Not bad at all,” said a feminine voice shadowing him.
Lucky turned around and smiled. “Elizabeth.”
**Outside of the theater**
“Well, where is he?” Michael asked as he, Georgie, and Lulu stood on the long line of people in the box office.
“He’ll be here,” Lulu said with an element of anger in her voice. As much as she didn’t want to admit it. She was kind of hoping Kyle had ditched her. She hated lying to her father. And she hated having Georgie lie as well. And Micheal—well Michael didn’t really care. She also hated to admit that her father was right. Kyle Robinson was trouble. But he was also popular, cute as a button, and one year older; all the more reasons for any girl in school to want to go out with him.
Five minutes later a hand came around her shoulder. “Hey,” Kyle whispered in her ear.
“Hey,” Lulu smiled, “You made it.”
“Yeah,” Kyle flickered her a quick smile and turned his head to find Michael and Georgie looking at them bluntly. “Quartermaine, whats up? I didn’t know you were coming along.”
“Hey neither did I.” Michael smiled as Lulu glared at him.
“And this is my friend, Georgie.” Lulu introduced. Both Kyle and Georgie exchanged nods.
“Well,” Kyle said breaking the silence in the air, “Lets go.” With that direct order he walked the opposite direction. Noticing that the trio didn’t follow him he turned around, “Whats wrong?”
“Uh, Kyle the movie is that way.” Lulu said pointing her thumb behind her.
“I know but I had something else in mind.” Kyle said, rubbing his cheek.
“Wow, why don’t we all alert the media,” Michael said brusquely.
“What is it?” Lulu asked.
“Miniature golf,” Kyle smiled.
Lulu was taken back. She would never had thought that Kyle would be the kind of guy who would go for miniature golf.”
“But its closed right now,” Georgie informed.
“I know.” Kyle shrugged. “We’ll sneak in.”
“What?” Georgie shouted.
Two older people in front of them turned and said “shh.”
“Aww, save it for the movie.” Michael frowned.
“Hey, it’ll be fun,” Kyle said in his usual negligent tone. “What do you say, Lu?”
Lesley Lu sighed and looked between Georgie and Michael before reluctantly nodding her head.
“Good,” Kyle grinned. “Lets get going.”
Lulu started to walk toward him but this time Georgie pulled her back. “Lesley Lu, we can’t sneak into some--.”
“What was I supposed to say Georgie?”
“Gosh, I don’t know. How about “no”? Or some excuse. Like “I have to wash my hair” anything but--.”
“Relax okay?” Lulu felt like she was in denial. She turned to Michael hoping that he would demand that they all went home but--.
“Look. Its obvious Georgie doesn’t want to go. I’ll take her home. You go on with Kyle,” Michael said walking up to the girls.
A sad look came to Lulu’s face as she realized her friends were ditching her. “Georgie?” She pleaded.
Georgie shook her head. “I think I’d like to go home. I’ll call you tomorrow okay?”
Lulu unwillingly nodded. “Okay.” She watched Michael and Georgie walk off.
“Looks like I’ll have to settle for watching Luke dance,” Michael groaned as he walked away with Georgie.
**On the road somewhere**
“So much for its just a drive!!” Gia’s voice echoed threw the route where Sly’s black BMW broke down.
“Hey at least I got the smoke to calm down,” Sly said, putting his head under the hood to check out the kaput engine. “I don’t know whats wrong with this? Everything looks fine.”
Gia rolled her eyes and jumped off the trunk where she sat. She walked over to the front and shoved Sly aside. “Move it.” Looking at the engine intensely she figured out the problem within minutes, “When was the last time you got an oil change?”
Sly shrugged. “I don’t know. This is a rental.”
“Well didn’t you ask when you bought it?” Gia narrowed her eyes and looked at him.
“Look I’m not planning on staying in Port Charles for that long. I just needed some fast transportation the last thing I gave a f**k about was how much oil it had.”
Gia shook her head. “Well call someone.”
“My phone’s out of batteries.” Sly said holding out his cell.
“Oh please,” Gia snorted, “You have to be kidding me. This is like a b-script movie.” She grabbed Sly’s phone and noticed the dead battery symbol. “Okay, so its out,” she stated throwing the cell back at him hard that Sly hardly caught it.
Feeling a drop of water come down on his hair Sly looked up and noticed the gray clouds forming percipitation. “You better get inside.” He warned, closing the hood and entering the car.
“Maybe I don’t want to get inside!” Gia shouted and was partly surprised at the thunder coming down. “Okay, maybe I do.” Gia rephrased before running back inside the car. By the time they were both safe and sound in the car, the downpour came out blurring the view in the drivers window. “Great this is just great,” Gia said throwing her hands in the air. “How hard is it to find your own uncle’s club?” She snarled at Sly.
“It’s not my fault. I haven’t been in Port Charles in years. And neither have you.” Sly shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Gia had always pushed his button, but this time she was pissing him off. “I swear Gia. Your attitude really takes the best of you.”
You're a song
Written by the hands of God
Don't get me wrong 'cuz
This might sound to you a bit odd
But you own the place
Where all my thoughts go hiding
And right under your clothes
Is where I find them
“You don’t even know me Sly.” Gia sighed and pushed her head back.
“Maybe I want to,” Sly said in a whisper.
“What did you say?” Gia asked, not receiving his last comment.
“Nothing.” Sly said bitterly. After twenty minutes went by, he turned his head to face her. “You know we’re not going anywhere anytime soon.”
“Really? I couldn’t tell,” Gia said sarcastically.
“So why do you hate me Gia? Is it because I’m so beautiful.” He chuckled.
Gia couldn’t help but put out a pint of laughter. “You men are so full of yourselves.”
Sly snorted. “And women aren’t?”
“No.” She lied easily, not looking at him.
“There’s the understatement of the day.” Sly chortled again.
“Including cramps and PMS days, we have a right to be a little narcissistic,” she said complacently.
“Yeah sure.” Sly shook his head. “But seriously though, why?”
This time she turned to look at him and merely shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe because your too self-absorbed like me. Maybe because your too annoying. I just don’t like you. And don’t think I’ll even consider being nice to you anytime soon.”
Sly studied her for a moment. He couldn’t help but realize how even in the dark she was able to glow. “The feeling is mutual.” He said with a smile and a nod. Exhaling raucously, he put his arm over her seat. “When are you going to cut me some slack Gia?”
“The day you get cramps.” She gave him a quick smile before looking around the car. One of the first things she noticed was the television installed into it. “How long do you think we’ll be stuck here?”
Sly shrugged. “Until the rain clears up at least. Someone’s bound to pass by.”
Gia nodded. “Does the tv work?”
“Only DVDs,” Sly answered.
“Do you have any with you?”
Sly opened the glove department and pulled out two dvds. “Two of my favorites,” he said holding both of them up, “The Crying Game or Memento.”
Gia tilted her head and thought for a moment. After a minute she made her decision. “Well I like the Crying Game but I love Memento!”
Nodding, he placed the Crying Game back in the glove department and inserted Memento into the DVD player hooked up with the miniature television. “But personally I like the Crying Game better.”
“It was good. But Memento just had this feeling to it. Its like after you watch it you get this revelation.” Gia analyzed. “And it doesn’t hurt that Guy Pearce is a complete dreamboat,” she added with a smile.
Sly groaned when Gia snatched the remote from him. After her last comment, he had the feeling he knew what scenes she was going to forward too.
**Kelly’s**
“I can’t believe you did that.” Georgie screeched with a laugh. “Well actually I can believe it but—food poisoning your family isn’t that cruel and unusual punishment?”
“Not in my family it isn’t. It wasn’t that bad. They were just sick for like a day or two.” Michael laughed remembering the day it happened. He was supposed to take Georgie home, but the shower came down hard so both of them decided to go get something to eat at Kelly’s, which was convenient since Kelly’s was hardly ever packed. As surprising as it turned out, he was enjoying Georgie’s company. “But I guess you wouldn’t know. You’re too much of the good girl. No one would ever expect you to do something like that.”

That’s not all true,” Georgie said, while drying her wet blonde hair with a clean towel that Bobbie had gave her. Michael drank his cappuccino and gave her a look that indicated her to tell. “Well there was this one time when I was around 9 years old. Me and my sister were out to my grandmothers and in the middle of the night I duck-taped her to the bed and then yelled out FIRE! And being the ditz she is. She fell for it. Screamed so loud it woke up half of our neighbors. Of course I got in trouble the next day.”
Michael laughed. “Are you serious?” He searched Georgie’s face to make sure she wasn’t lying. He could usually tell when someone told him a lie and from what he saw Georgie was telling the truth. “Well. Pretty good Jones. I should use that stunt with my great-grandfather. He’d fall for it within a second.”
“So I’m not so boring after all huh?” Georgie said with a smirk.
Michael stopped laughing and looked up at her. “How’d you--.”
“Lesley Lu told me. But it’s okay.” Georgie shrugged. “I didn’t think much of you either. I mean I always thought that you were a real jerk.”
“Ah.” Michael nodded once. “And now?”
“Now,” she finished her frappuccino before completing her sentence, “Now, I think your less of a jerk.” She smiled and he keenly smiled back. The storm continued as another jolt of lightening hit.
Because of you
I forgot the smart ways to lie
Because of youI'm running out of reasons to cry
When the friends are goneWhen the parties over
We will still belong to each other
“You scared?” Michael asked with an astute grin.
But Georgie rolled her eyes. “Please. Lightening his really just an element of static energy.”
“Oh.” Michael’s grin faded.
“But you know---.” She looked at Michael and sighed. They were having such a good time and she hated to put the topic in the air.
“What is it?” Michael asked when he noticed the worried look on her face.
“I feel bad about leaving Lesley Lu with Kyle. I mean what if something happens to her—and now its raining pretty hard.”
“Yeah.” Realization hit him when he thought about the hazardous possibilities. “But I’m sure she’s fine.” He said trying to bolster her, but anxiety took over. “But just in case,” he stood up, “maybe we should go find her.”

“Elizabeth,” Lucky stood up and set the guitar aside without even taking a second glance, “Uh, I didn’t know you were here.”
“I was supposed to meet Chloe here.” Elizabeth looked around. “But I guess she’s late.”
“Yeah.” Lucky glimpsed at the clock. “So are Sly and Gia.”
A cold look came to Elizabeth’s face. “So how are you and Gia?”
“We’re fine, but we’re also--.”
“That’s great.” Elizabeth said cutting him off. A part of her couldn’t bare hearing that he was living the happily ever after life with another woman.
He looked up at her and arched a brow. “Its great that we’re divorced?”
Elizabeth’s looked at him. “Oh Lucky. I—I didn’t know.”
“Yeah, well. I didn’t expect you to.” He forced himself to look away from her. After so much time had gone by all he wanted to do was sit down and talk to her about everything. The past. The present. Maybe even the future. “Uh so, you mentioned Chloe? Chloe Black?”
Elizabeth nodded. “She’s one of your clients right?”
“Yeah. I produced some of her music. I didn’t know you were friends with her.”
“I didn’t know you were divorced. So I guess we’re even.” Liz shrugged. She looked at the guitar then back at him. “So do you still play?”
“No.” Lucky said a little too quickly. “No. I compose. I just did this as a favor to Claude.” Turning around, he took up the strength to face her straightforwardly. “Do you still paint?”
“Yes. Its still my one and only joy.” Elizabeth smiled. “I’m even opening up a gallery pretty soon.”
“Wow really.” Lucky smiled. “I always told you that you have talent.”
“Yeah,” Liz’s smile dulled. Memories came back to her. The night they made a vow to their permanent lock. The days he would creep up into her room from the window and how they would just talk for hours. “I wouldn’t have even thought about being a painter if it wasn’t for you.”
I love you more than all that's on the planet
Movin' talkin' walkin' breathing, yeah
You know it's trueOh babe it's so funny
You almost don't believe in itAs every voice is hanging from the silence
Lamps are hanging from the ceiling, yeah
Like a lady tied to her mannersI'm tied up to this feeling
Noticing her face becoming distraught, Lucky figured he was making her uncomfortable. “Well ok. I’ll see you around then. Bye.” He said quietly and turned around to walk away.
He stopped when he heard her say, “Lucas Lorenzo you better turn right around or I’m going to slap you right across the face.”
He turned around and looked at her blankly for a second before breaking out into a smile. “You’re the only person I know who can make Lorenzo sound like such a bad middle name.”
“Just wait till I get started.” Elizabeth chuckled lightly and walked up to him. “I haven’t seen you in practically six years. And I’m a little curious to know whats been going on with you.”
He looked at her intensely, wondering if she was feeling the same thing he was. Disappointment, redemption, excitement. “Why is it that you read me so well Elizabeth Imogene?”
Smiling warmly she said, “Somebody has to.”

**Near the Miniature Golf Course**
“I don’t even know why we even bothered to check here,” Michael said as he and Georgie huddled into the umbrella Tammy had loaned them. They could both here the beat of the rain against the umbrella. “I’m pretty sure they left. Lu’s probably back home by now.”
“Your right.” Georgie sighed and hugged herself, “Lets just head back.”
Just as Michael was about to turn around and leave, he noticed a flash of light from nearby. “Wait a minute.”
“What is it?” Georgie asked, trying to figure out what Michael was looking at.
“Do you hear that?” He asked. Listening to the sound growing deeper.
“Yeah. It sounds like---a car horn. Maybe we should check it out.”
They both ran towards the light. When they finally reached the car, Georgie gasped, “Oh my god.”
Michael stood frozen for a second and looked at Georgie who was just as confused as he was. “Georgie.” Grabbing her hand he looked at her, “We have to get help. And I mean now.”
